Hi all, caught up earlier then dylan fell asleep so have managed to have an uninterrupted bath for first time since he was born! But means I cant really remember anything!
Except SOKL - glad we're not the only ones with bum wiping at school dilemmas!

Found out nathan's best friend will be in same class next year and he really nice boy so yay to that!

Got new car today have borrowed money off dps grandad to but my mums car now as she wanted to sell it soon and i was sick of having to suit in back of my car with dd and ds1 as car seat will not fit in back. But now have to sell mine and dps cars asap so if anyone wants a nissan sunny or hyundai coupe then let me know!

bugger dylan awake and really squealing

hello! I'm not really in the April 07 "club", as I don't post very much and I wasn't part of the ante-natal thread, but I was wondering if I could ask some advice: what do you guys do to entertain your babies? My wee girl Bethan (7 weeks) likes nothing better than to lie on a rug on the floor, wriggling and doing Black Power salutes. I always have the radio on and she seems to like listening to the music. She also loves looking at faces -anyone's - and cooing at them. She's not that bothered about her bouncy chair yet - she'll sit in it for a bit, but get fractious after a while. And she's a bit "meh" about her baby gym too so far, although maybe this will change when she can see a bit better.

I was wondering if you guys had any suggestions for other things she might enjoy at this stage.

weeonion · 06/06/2007 23:01

she sleeps in her amby nest - which has a sofy mattress. she spends hardly any time in a car seat/ baby chair and hwne we are out - she is always on me in a baby carrier. how the heck do i get her to turn her head to prevent it??

EllieK · 06/06/2007 23:02

if you want to join us lazyemma (are you really lazy? ) then you are most welcome

we were talking about this the other day, have to say i don't do anything to entertain Joe

OP posts:
EllieK · 06/06/2007 23:03

erm, not sure tbh, Joe sleeps on his front so just naturally sleeps both sides

you can get cushions for the purpose but it usually just sorts itself out as they get older

i do sing to her (not nursery rhymes but my own versions of songs - a current fav is a rehash of an old undertones song!) she seems happy enough to entertain herself at the mo - mainly by looking at black n white books i have propped up beside her. i read her some books and play with her for a while but she seems to get bored of me pretty quickly.

i have got some ideas from here as well

Hello

Weeonion not sure except try to change the side she rests her head on.

Lazyemma - hi there. I don't do any more than you tbh. Sometimes wave toys/rattles in front of her...but she's only just beginning to show an interest (she's 9 weeks today)Sounds like you doing the right things. At this age they are most interested in people especially mouths i'm told.

Hi Pesha and Ellie

lazyemma · 06/06/2007 23:11

oh, thanks people! That's reassuring. And thanks for the link too, weeonion.

I am indeed lazy, Ellie - at least by nature. I don't get the chance to indulge my inner sloth much nowadays, sadly! And I'd love to hang around, if that's OK.

weeonion · 06/06/2007 23:14

how is it going ove in fife lazyemma?

AngeG · 06/06/2007 23:14

Weeonion, you can buy a cushion designed to prevent flat head, jojomamanbaby sell it. Or a sheepskin would help. Ds tends to lie with his head to the right and is starting to get a slight flat patch.

Poor ds - entertainment is as follows -

Sitting in bouncy chair watching me & dd do playdoh/painting/drawing/cooking/whinging or watching the washing machine.

I only get to do the whole smiling at mummy game once dd has gone to bed. Tonight the glass of wine got priority. Poor neglected ds! He seems happy enough.....

lazyemma · 07/06/2007 05:56

mornin! sorry guys, rudely went to bed without saying goodnight last night. Yes weeonion, I'm emma from the scottish thread! Things in Fife are good, if a bit chilly - we've had our own special cloud covering us for the past few days, stopping us getting everyone else's summery weather. How are you? How's your little girl?

Well, B slept for an unprecedented 5 1/2 straight hours last night. The bad news is that she's about as awake as it's possible to be now so I don't think I'll be creeping back to bed for a sneaky couple of hours after this feed.

maveta · 07/06/2007 07:31

Noah just vomited a bit of blood. Not much, maybe the size of a penny and not bright red but a bit darker and thicker than ´fresh´ blood. What could it be?? My breasts aren´t bleeding (as my first thought was maybe I had a cut and he had swallowed blood from it). We´re taking him to see the doctor at the medical centre just to check but any ideas??

geordiemacminx · 07/06/2007 07:31

Morning ladies!!

Well my little monster slept from 10.30 until 4.30 - typical since my mum had him down stairs!! Still I've had 2 nights uninterrupted sleep - I know feel ready to take on the world!!!!!

geordiemacminx · 07/06/2007 07:33

sorry - x-pots maveta, dont really know, but i'm sure he'll be ok!!
