I have never been able to understand how you can feed in your sleep. I know alot of people do it but I seem to be wide awake all the way through a feed. Mind you, I have never been able to feed lying down so maybe that is why. If I fell asleep would squash Ruth!

Mind you, I have the opposite problem. I kind of wish Ruth would wake for a feed inthe night as I have to squash all her feeds into the day otherwise she only has 4. Dreading getting her weighed incase she is not putting it on. Any more feed and she will be attached to my boob all day! Just cant bear to wake her in the night.

Oh, god, Dragon, don't WAKE her!! There really is an argument for NOT going to get Lo's weighed, it's such a worry and if you think they look healthy then they almost certainly are. Please don't worry

hmm, I do understand, Dragon, but just remember those centiles were devised by a man at some stage in history and our babies don't always conform to set patterns, there are so many factors to consider. I would prob worry if it was me, as I worry about everything, but I'm certain your lo is just not as hungry as others.

Yes. Know I have said it before but after having a real greedy guts when I had Luke, it is a bit weird. Sometimes she only feeds for 5-10mins then will just not have anymore. She is stuborn like her mum I suppose. Guess she could be a fast eater but think as you said she is just not vey hungry. We all like our food in the Dragon household so it is not in her genes!

Dragon - if it's any consolation dd1 born on 50th centile dropped to 9th centile by around 16 weeks, dd2 born 95th centile dropped to 50th by around 16 weeks, dd3 born on 50 th centile already dropped to 2nd centile. All 3 perfectly healthy and breastfed, I've decided not to have lo weighed unless I need to go to baby clinic for anything else

Felix often only feeds for 5 -10 mins, that seems to be how long he needs to fill up. If only you had a nice HV that would say 'ignore our silly charts she looks perfectly well to me'. Must go to bed now. Night.

just a quick one re co sleeping we have a rule if its after 3am and they wont settle we let them in our bed (anything for some sleep) but honestly couldnt trust dh not to put duvet over their heads/roll on them etc. Ellie tends to come in around 4.30 when dhgoes to work and hattie does 12 hours in her cot so no worries about her (my lovely lovely 2nd dd )

I will put down my opinion about co sleeping I think im having to side with wilks on this one im afraid. I feel the bedroom is for your space without the children I love my kids to death but I feel that my bedroom is for me and dh and not to be shared by the four of us maybe that is because my ds has never ever been in our bed since he was born yes he has a cuddle in a morning but iv never bought him into our bed at night even if he is ill I will sleep with him I am very lucky that he has never wanted to be in our bed.I think it is healthy for a child to have there own space and I agree that lauren was getting disturbed when she was in our room and slept much better when she was in her own room. I want to point this out again I love my children so much it hurts but dont think that they should be attached to there parents 24 hours a day......... going to the hairdressers in a bit without the kids yipeee

Co-sleeping. I am sooo jealous of you who can sleep through feeding! I don't seem to have aquired that skill at all. We don't co-sleep but she is at end of the bed so I have to get her in bed with me and we feed lying down.

60. Which came first, the chicken or the egg?
    In nature, living things evolve through changes in their DNA. In an animal like a chicken, DNA from a male sperm cell and a female ovum meet and combine to form a zygote -- the first cell of a new baby chicken. This first cell divides innumerable times to form all of the cells of the complete animal. In any animal, every cell contains exactly the same DNA, and that DNA comes from the zygote.

Chickens evolved from non-chickens through small changes caused by the mixing of male and female DNA or by mutations to the DNA that produced the zygote. These changes and mutations only have an effect at the point where a new zygote is created. That is, two non-chickens mated and the DNA in their new zygote contained the mutation(s) that produced the first true chicken. That one zygote cell divided to produce the first true chicken.

Prior to that first true chicken zygote, there were only non-chickens. The zygote cell is the only place where DNA mutations could produce a new animal, and the zygote cell is housed in the chicken's egg. So, the egg must have come first.
