Just popping in to say "Goodnight" to all you lovely ladies - DH has kindly booked DD's in for an exta PM at nursery tomorrow - so I can have a bit of extra "recovery time" .... hoping it works ....

Hi Daisy ... It's all kicking off on your thread then - How exciting!!

Sweet Dreams. xxxx

maveta · 23/05/2007 07:21

Hi Daisy! Wishing you all speedy and painfree (yeah right! ) labours!

octo · 23/05/2007 07:39

[bleary eyed] good morning all!

DaisysGotABigBump · 23/05/2007 07:49

Mine should be pain free....I'm booked in for an elective on June 5th...unless I go before then, which they said is quite likely!!

maveta · 23/05/2007 08:05

Morning Octo! Sorry you´re having a rough time of it re. nights.

Katy44 · 23/05/2007 09:04

no sleep last night, screaming all morning what is wrong with him???

Birdiemum · 23/05/2007 09:22

Katy - no sleep seems to breed no sleep imo. If Rose has a "sleep all day" day (not often enough!) I just let her get on with it. If she has a day where she doesn't seem to sleep for more than 30 minutes at a time, chances are the night will be hell as well... Hope you both get some sleep during today, hun. [[hugs]]]

Rose now appears to have a tummy bug with greenish frequent poos and has started making some outrageous noises while producing them! However she is well and happy in herself so I am not doing anything about it yet. She has already been prescribed antibiotics for a minor infection which I also didn't give to her as she appeared to be well and happy. Hope I'm doing the right thing - my instincts say I am???

Sexonknackeredlegs · 23/05/2007 10:07

Morning all.

Ellie, thank you very much for the text message from Flump - really sweet of her and you to pass it on.

Hi Birdiemum. Yum, green poo. We had this a few weeks ago for a few days. I also think it was due to a tummy bug as I had a bit of a dicky tummy a couple of days later. Hope R is ok soon.

Octo, hope your ds2 gets better soon as well. It is mega hard when the other dc's are ill isn't it. B had croup on Saturday night which has now turned in to a chesty cough and horrendous snotty cold. She doesn't seem bothered by it thankfully.

CD, enjoy your afternoon.

Katy, hope you are ok, and can get some rest today. It is so hard not knowing what causes the screaming/not sleeping.
Btw, has your psoriasis come back? I think it was you that suffers with it. Mine is really bad again - stress related!!

Had an ok night, although the evening wasn't great. K was making out she was hungry so dh fed her and she puked all over him, as was obviously still full from earlier!! However, she slept again from 10.30 to 4.00, so cannot complain at all.

Hope everyone else is ok. Sorry for not mentioning everyone. Enjoy the sunshine.

When is the South East meet up then???

See y'all later. xx

Katy44 · 23/05/2007 10:09

I've definitely noticed that! When he has a restful day he sleeps well on the night and vice versa. It's almost like he gets overtired on no sleep and so can't sleep.
He's asleep now Fell asleep after much singing, dancing and a go on the baby gym in his bouncy chair. I've managed to move him to his basket, hopefully this will be a long one and let me get a shower!
Sorry to hear about Rose's tummy bug. Could the antibiotics be causing the green poos? Is it worth ringing your HV just to check?

Well, I'm relaxing with coffee and toast. Any other first timers noticed that coffee / tea went from no big deal to a luxury - just having time to make it and drink it while hot feels like a treat!

Katy44 · 23/05/2007 10:15

SOKL, glad you had a good night, apart from the vomit.
Yes, my psoriasis has come back, it's not the worst it's ever been but not good either. How about you?
Well, he's awake, that didn't last long

YvieE · 23/05/2007 10:31

Morning
Well after a trip to the dermatologist y'day, 2 cosultants and a few pics later it look s like Sarai has Pityriasis Rosea, which is basically a rash that is caused by a virus. The consultants said they hadn't seen it in anybody this young but it can affect people of all ages. She's been presrcibed emollients and a mild steroid cream to help with the itching and we have to go back next week. Sarai seems to be getting better so all in all i'm much happier.
Liath i'm was having the same problem with Sarai - she hates dummies and bottles so my EBM was going to waste, I tried numerous soothers and bootles including tommee tippee, boots own then i tried MAM and she sucked...yayyyyyyy...Now i'm off to get a MAM dummy.
EmmyMummy - Like Sophie, S will not go to sleep without being attached to someone and wakes up as soon as i put her down in her moses basket or on the bed - please tell this won't last for long.
SOKL - Glad to hear K is doing better.
BM - Hope Rose is ok\gets better soon
Hope you are all enjoying the beautiful weather

claricebean · 23/05/2007 11:02

Hi everyone, hope you're all ok. Today I'm adding a message BEFORE I read the thread, otherwise I never get round to saying anything bt the time I've read all the news. So please forgive the lack of personals, I will get there in the end.

Well Ruby is being a star. She's more or less settled into her routine of going down at 11pm and waking about 8am, so I am feeling great. She does sometimes take until half midnight to drop off, but I can't complain. I haven't had her weighed recently, but she is completely filling her 0 - 3 month clothes and is only 6 weeks tomorrow . What a porker.

Now that I am getting enough sleep, I've started to care about my appearance again and am that I have put on 2 dress sizes. I seem to have plateaued in the weight loss dept, but it's more the inches I'm worried about. Have ordered some clothes on the internet as I am so bored of wearing materity stuff and have started using DH's rowing machine in an effort to shift the excess.

Right, off to tidy up a bit and cook Kerala fish curry for lunch..mmmmmmmmmmmmm. DC have the next two days off school for a local holiday, so we are off to the science museum in Granada tomorrow. We used to live there (in Granada, not in the science museum) so it'll be nice to go back for a visit.

claricebean · 23/05/2007 11:10

Yvie, poor Sarai. Glad you've seen the consultant and she seems to be on the mend. Presumably if it's a virus, it'll be a one off thing and once it's gone, it's gone??

BirdieMum - hope Rose is feeling better.

Morning octo, SOKL, maveta and katy

oooggs · 23/05/2007 11:14

We moved our bed into the dt's room and they are sharing the cot bed. Can't see us moving out until our room is decorated. It is also on a different floor (could tone up loads running up and down stairs... I don't think so )

DH has exams on 5th July so decorating won't start until at least then, we moved ds out of our room (differnt house) when he was 4 months and no longer fitted in bassinette of travel cot.

Gotta dash - screaming for food in stereo

catch you all later x

Katy44 · 23/05/2007 11:17

oooggs how do you do it???

Katy44 · 23/05/2007 11:18

Hi Claricebean, very of the sleep, but glad things are going well xx
I know I keep saying that to oooggs and KHIN but I'm not just saying it I really can't believe people cope with 2 of them at the same time! And other children. And do other stuff!!

Katy44 · 23/05/2007 11:19

Well, off to have a shower before the afternoon

mammyjo · 23/05/2007 11:21

Morning all. glad S is getting better Yvie.
Birdie, I would go with your instincts. If she is well (and you would know) then I would be inclined to hold off the antibiotics too. GP told me that F may have thrush in her mouth but that she wasnt entirely sure. Gave me some Nystan treatment but said to use if I felt she needed it. I havent used any as she is fine, feeding well and I have no symptoms either which I assume I would have due to BF.

Bramshott · 23/05/2007 11:23

Morning all! Well we had an okay night despite the jabs - she fed at 10, 2 and 6, and settled right away after both feeds. To be honest, I was so tired from the previous 2 nights shenanigans that she could probably have invited 10 other babies over for a party in my room and I would have slept through it .

Yvie - so glad they have worked out what's wrong with Sarai. Hope she's on the mend.

Thanks for all your responses about babies in room / not in room. I think I'll hang on with O for another few weeks as per the original plan. Lesley - DD1 was in with us until about 4 months, until she was too big for the moses basket (she was prem and small). I know the advice is to keep them in with you until 6 months but I guess you have to do what's best for you and your sanity! My hunch is that O will be out of our room and into the cot in a few weeks time - the room she is going into (at least for now, until we build our extension and have a big swap round) is just across from ours so I can either leave the doors open or shut the doors and use the monitor. May do monitor actually so I know she won't wake N.

Bramshott · 23/05/2007 11:31

Ooh, it's busy on here this morning - hello all

SE ladies (and anyone else who fancies a trip to sunny Brighton or somewhere) - I've started a new thread to discuss our meetup plans here

Sorry - someone posted their good midweek days and I now can't remember who, or what they were . I have no brain - hence new thread to keep all the info together.

Katy44 · 23/05/2007 11:41

Can I ask a very personal question to anyone who's breastfeeding?
How important is it to use a deodorant without aluminium? I am using one but it's not very good, plus I've figured out that in a normal deodorant the aluminium makes it stick to your skin - this one drips down my sides!
I'd love to go back to my usual, but won't if I shouldn't.

claricebean · 23/05/2007 11:52

katy had never heard that about deoderant, so am using normal stuff (and did for other 3 DC)

oooggs · 23/05/2007 11:57

hey Katy - you have no choice hun
And I am terrible for everything being 'just so' in the house so I make more work for myself. Thankfully having ds1 first who was a nightmare baby these two together are much easier. It is still ds1 who is making life hard at the moment.

Only on here and chilled today cos he is at preschool (must have been invented by a woman)

I think all you 1st time mums are doing fantastic - I was a mess 1st time round and found it impossible to be washed and dressed before midday .

Things also seem much better when the sun is shining x

mammyjo · 23/05/2007 12:44

Katy, I had never heard the thing about deodorant and I am just using the same one that I did before. Why can you not use it? Is it just that there could be residue on the skin or does it actually pass into the milk? Would be interested to know - am off to check if mine actually does contain aluminium but am sure it probably will.

mammyjo · 23/05/2007 12:48

Mine does have aluminium in it. Oh well, I guess dd has been chomping on it for the last 8 weeks so a bit late now.
