you choose - for you or for your bubba

I can't believe the May thread is so excited that their babies are arriving. That time in our lives seems like soooooo long ago .

Lovely piccys Mossy!
I must try and put some up sometime.

sazzybee · 12/06/2007 11:02

Elliot's better if you just pat him and don't pick him up when he's crying and trying to go to sleep I've realised. Picking him up seems to make him cry harder

He is getting better and going to sleep faster - normally we're down to about 45 mins in the evenings and 15 mins at nap time. I do a sort of controlled crying I guess - I go out for 2 mins and then come back in again. It stops me going mad and sometimes he gets to sleep faster if I'm not there if that makes sense.

Have no idea what to wear today - it's really humid but says it's going to chuck it down later. Consequently I'm still in my dressing gown

AmieR · 12/06/2007 11:55

Joseph settles really well for his night time sleep, luckily. But he can be a pain during the day. He is so tired yet refuses to sleep! He grizzles away to himself, I think all it coems down to is that he's so nosey and doesn't want to miss a thing! When he is awake he loathes being laid down, always has to be sat up.

Also feel a bit of a bad parent as he seems addicted to the tv.. I have him in his bouncing cradle facing me, trying to play and he's craning his neck to see the TV.. so its off for most the day now!

Even hope, your swimming seems more successful than our first try, apart from your DH and the changing senario! Joe slept in the water. All he did.

bit cooler here today, thankfully.

CallieNewMum · 12/06/2007 12:06

Mossy, lovely pics, what a little smiler. He's gorgeous.

DS is having a sleepy day today after waking at 12.30, 4, 6 and 7.... He slept for an hour from 9 to 10, then fed and went back to sleep. Alright for some, youngster. I did catch 40winks with him the first time but I've been on the net ever since considering my future career. I met another colleague yesterday and want to go back to work even less. I've seen a job advertised which is part time and would entail a massive pay cut but which looks really interesting. I'm planning to go part time anyway but in my job it would be starting from a higher salary iyswim. Of course this job would almost certainly start sooner than I'd want to return to work, so it's probably out of the question anyway even if I had a chance of getting it but it has got me thinking.

Sazzy, I'm also still in my dressing gown - disgusting! I really should shower while DS sleeps. See he heard me type that and is now stirring.. or is he. Must run in case.

AmieR · 12/06/2007 12:33

Cute pics Mossy!

Always thought of getting a flckr account...

kittywits · 12/06/2007 12:46

Shanks and mossie what super lovely babes you have

Foxy how are you getting on with your 'grievance' (I've got a few of those ).

Callie a career change sounds interesting. What't the job that you are interested in?

Amie lol at Joe being asleep in the swimming pool, never heard of that one before. I guess it wasn't the stimulating experience you were hoping it would be !!

Shrinky I think 'looney bin' is a very apt description!!! I'm also up with another child during the night atm. Dd2 is becoming aware of when she has a wee in the night, so she takes off her nappy and goes back to sleep, then she wets herself and we have to change her sheets....... and so it goes on........

Booboobedoo · 12/06/2007 14:16

Couldn't get those links to work Shanks.

Mossy: your DS looks like mine (so of course I think he's gorgeous)! Sound like they weigh about the same too. Are your dogs jealous? Mine's started weeing on the floor in protest whilst staring sadly at me! .

Another crap night so we're both knackered.

Callie: I always feel more tired after a good night. I think if all your nights are crap you start to adjust IYKWIM.

Foxy: your boss is being a moron.

Thanks for all your CC advice. I really don't think I could do it. I sometimes let him fuss himself to sleep, but if he's upset I have to pick him up. It's heartbreaking.

Off for a kip now. The house is a sty but if I don't sleep I'm going to be Grouchy Mummy.

muppethasakitten · 12/06/2007 14:17

I'm too scared to take Samuel swimming as it would involve me putting my swimming costume on again!

Lovely pics mossy and shanks

No advice on controlled crying here... i can't even remember what i did with my first 2 now... I think they just used to go to sleep. That's why this one has been such a shock. He is a total cuckoo!

Kitty.... it wasn't you AGAIN!

Booboobedoo · 12/06/2007 14:18

Btw I didn't start a separate thread about CC as it always provokes such strong responses on MN and I didn't want people to start rowing! People are always so nice and reasonable on this thread

foxcub · 12/06/2007 14:42

Boo - I've never tried CC properley, but I can recognise Monti's "tired cry" so generally I'll leave him to sleep if he's got that cry.

I'm far too much of a softie and DH think's Monti is dead spoilt

foxcub · 12/06/2007 14:47

I send my grievance in last night by e-mail. Lo and behold, my boss sends me a long e-mail this morning full of excuses as to why he hasn't responded (since early March???). He must think I was born yesterday!

NewMum24Gem · 12/06/2007 15:20

AmieR my DS is just lik that. likes to be sat up all the time hates laying down..he screams..i normally prop him up on the sofa with some cushions but hes started rolling about now! so me thinks hell have to go on the floor.

divastrop yeah i did pnd questionairre and it was all ok. just normal baby blues.

booboobedo i know what you mean about having the baby with you excuses why you look half dead but all the mums round my way are always dressed to the nines even at tescos! so it makes you feel even crapper then.

Piffle · 12/06/2007 16:17

Hi to all
Well Mossy Bertie sure is worth the trouble huh, what little cutie and a gorgeous smile too.

Shanks Deanna is a beautiful baby

Must get around to doing some more with Finn soon
Well himself fad every hour yesterday, has had two boobs each feed today(not like him) and is very sleepy, methinks a growth spurt

Mum is here atm and dp and I are off out for a meal tonight, we went out for last orders pint last night too

Must dash, house is a tip and am tennis watching

divastrop · 12/06/2007 16:43

lovely photos shanks and mossie

Elsie doesnt like laying flat either.she also loves watching telly

the wedding is officially booked for october 20th nowive got dd1+2's dresses already as they were half price in debenhams.

Elsie has just filled her nappy for about the 7th time today....methinks shews teething

muppethasakitten · 12/06/2007 18:32

Very exciting diva!!! You're gonna have to do a link to those dresses for your dds! You know what sticky beaks we all are!!!

Good work foxy... bet your boss is sweating now!

Newmum24 - all the women round my way dress up to the nines for the school run... I'm always there in my jeans covered in baby sick and dog slobber! I scare most of them off ... not that bothered though... most of them are a bit bizarre and just love to put on a front to out do each other! It bothered me in my twenties when i was ten years younger than most other mothers... but now i'm in my thirties I couldn't care less!

muppethasakitten · 12/06/2007 18:33

Piffle can prolly relate to what i'm saying about folks round here - she knows the area... am I right or am I right piff?

TheBlonde · 12/06/2007 19:14

Diva - great news about the wedding

Having a strange day here, DS crashed out after nursery so hasn't bathed or anything yet and is still asleep

DD fell asleep in the buggy and still hasn't woken up yet

AmieR · 12/06/2007 19:31

Yay! Diva - congratulations!

i look a mess most the time.. now i use Joe as an excuse!

been to my friends today, she's a trained baby maseus (spelling) and we did a bit with Joseph who loved it!

divastrop · 12/06/2007 20:25

dresses

amie-Elsie loves her massage, but ds and dd2 always want one as well now.it really helps with wind!

its the opposite up here with doing the school run.many of the mums wear tracky bottoms and no make-up,i always wear jeans but look smart compared to some.alot of the mums seem to be wearing leggings with skirts over them, and fake crocs on their feet

muppethasakitten · 12/06/2007 20:37

diva those dresses are gorgeous... i love the pretty embroidery on them... and what a bloody bargain!

Piffle · 12/06/2007 21:21

muppet oh yes I had a lot of friends until we traded in the flash audi for a sensible Peugeot estate

Although where I was in Fleet was not soooo bad, but still plenty of flash dressers indeed!

Shrinkinglily · 12/06/2007 21:23

hee hee well over here we do the school run in pyjamas

Diva the dress is beautiful, wasn't there a size 8 months one? That would have been so cute.

Today was mad. Thunder and lightening and really bad flooding where I used to live too

Amie glad Joseph enjoyed his massage, how lovely.

divastrop · 12/06/2007 22:01

the smallest size was 2-3 years.the rate she's growing i think she'll be in 12-18 months by then but 2-3 is pushing it.

foxcub · 12/06/2007 22:02

Diva that dress is really pretty

Piffle · 12/06/2007 22:39

diva those little dresses are beautful it sounds like your wedding will be gorgeous!
