Hi!

Any mums out there with April newborns? If there is already a group going please point me in the right direction!

I’m a first time mum with a 2 week old little girl Smile looking for some people to chat to with similar aged babies!

Was it just a day procedure then or did you have to stay overnight?

No personal experience but a friend had a prolapse after giving birth and after physio and exercises it is fine. Try not to worry about it too much (although I know that's hard)

forestftm · 14/06/2018 22:35

@Aspenn17 I'm glad that your op went well, and even though they have found some other complications at least they have been picked up and will be dealt with rather than being left.

I do know what you mean though, I had a problem free pregnancy, yet a traumatic birth, and things have not been as easy as I'd hoped.

LO is completely worth it, but feeling similar to you. Been told by my doctor yesterday at post natal check that my coccyx pain may continue for weeks/months and the only thing that will heal it is time. Not allowed to get back to doing the things I'd like because of it.

Just had to order some new clothes as my body shape has changed so my clothes don't fit like they used to, and annoyingly I bought them just before finding out I was pregnant so they are all brand new and hardly worn.

Moan over lol 🙈

ClareB83 · 15/06/2018 03:53

I'm struggling to understand my new body shape too. I've been this weight before but not with it all on my tum (and thighs). Dresses are fine but I don't get what I do about trousers and jeans. Do I just stay in maternity clothes for a year? I didn't actually buy maternity jeans/trousers just leggings and they are too big as they were all stretched out by the big bump. So I don't really have anything other than a pair of leggings and a pair of stretchy shorts, none of which are really leave the house worthy.

Aspenn17 · 15/06/2018 06:57

@Fieau yes just a day procedure, in at 7am and home by 3pm. Took my breast pump with me! Thank you for your reassurance, good to hear your friend is now ok.

Good point @forestftm if they hadn’t picked up on the prolapse yday I’d have carried on starting to exercise and made it worse. I hope your pain improves!

I’m really struggling with body image tbh feel like I’m in tears every time we go to meet friends and I have to find something to wear. I’ve gone from a size 8, running 15km per week to a size 14 and doing nothing (except walking with bubba) I went on 2 runs at 6 weeks post partum but now I have this prolapse I definitely can’t do that anymore. DH keeps reminding me I only had her 8 weeks ago and to not be so hard on myself. On the plus side my surgeon said my episiotomy was totally healed and looked so good you could hardly even tell so at least it all looks ok down there 🙄 Keep wishing I’d been more instant on sticking to my birth plan and avoided having her lying on my back as I’d done my research and I knew that wasn’t a good position but in the heat of the moment I just wanted her out!

Personal question, but is anyone back on birth control yet and having sex/thinking about it soon?

We've started having sex again (c section so no damage down there to worry about) and are just using condoms, which is what we always used before. But it wasn't a big deal if we got pregnant before, whereas right now with two newborns we really really don't want to get pregnant so it's a little more worrying.

Periods are back too 😡

forestftm · 15/06/2018 08:12

I always said "it took 9 (ish) months to make our baby, it can take 9 months for my body to go back"

But I am struggling a little with my squidgy tummy, and the extra half a stone I'm carrying. My hips have widen as well which I was conscious about before anyway.

Almost having sex again...got very close the other night and then realised we had no condoms .... and definitely wasn't risking anything! I had an episiotomy so am a little anxious about the first time if I'm honest.

forestftm · 15/06/2018 08:44

*widened not widen lol

Fieau · 15/06/2018 10:48

We've tried having sex once, I had a c section so was a bit surprised when it hurt? Maybe because I had an emergency section so had already been in labour that might have affected things.

We haven't had a chance since.... How do people manage when the baby refuses to sleep unless held?! Blush

ClareB83 · 15/06/2018 11:30

Do it in the ten minutes where baby pretends they might fall asleep in their cot!

amysaurus87 · 16/06/2018 21:18

My little one has his 6 week check (despite being 9 weeks old!!) on Tuesday, he'll be having his jabs the same day, but what can I expect from the check up?

He's started to sleep better now and is going from 11-3ish And then 4-7ish so I'm finally getting some decent blocks of sleep! It's amazing how quickly it's changed, the other night he went from 8pm-3am without a feed, I totally panicked and asked the health visitor the next day and she assured me this was OK.

He's anyone started taking their little ones swimming, I really want to start soon with mine but I have no idea where or how, any recommendations on baby swim classes.

Hope you are all well and your little ones are too!

Fieau · 16/06/2018 21:31

My little boy is having his jabs on Tuesday too. My MIL is a nurse and has completely panicked me about them.... Hope they are not as bad as she says!!

Our local baby swimming classes won't take babies until they are three months old so we are on the waiting list.

forestftm · 17/06/2018 18:58

My LO isn't having his check till he is almost 10 weeks old! My doctors do the check at 8 weeks, but couldn't fit me in for a double appointment for 2 weeks!

I asked if I could have a separate doctor and nurse appointment to get it done earlier and they said no! I've been told it doesn't matter that it's late, but I'm not convinced!

I live in a rural area and am finding it hard to find baby classes anywhere that doesn't involve travelling a great distance!

Definitely want to go swimming with LO though

amysaurus87 · 19/06/2018 10:44

Check and jabs all done!

He's perfectly healthy and is doing well.

Jabs were ok, he cried loads, I've never heard him scream so loud, but I've given him Calpol and he seems ok.

forestftm · 19/06/2018 12:41

Glad his check and jabs went ok.

My LO has his next week, fingers crossed it goes well for us too

Fieau · 19/06/2018 16:32

Had jabs here today as well, he absolutely screamed when she did them but stopped as soon as she was finished and was asleep by the time we gave him his calpol. He's been OK this afternoon, although he did feed for over an hour and a half Hmm I was desperate for a wee by the end of it Grin

amysaurus87 · 19/06/2018 16:56

My little one has been screaming pretty much all afternoon, he's been changed, fed (though he's not overly interested), rocked and he's finally sleeping.

I've given him his second dose of Calpol so I think that has helped.

Hopefully he won't develop a temperature overnight.

ClareB83 · 19/06/2018 16:59

My two have been nightmares since 3am and their jabs aren't til tomorrow- that'll be fun.

amysaurus87 · 21/06/2018 19:59

@ClareB Hope all went well with your little ones jabs yesterday.

My little one was pretty fussy but slept really well, had to give him all 4 doses of Calpol as he kept getting a temperature but all ok now!

Can't believe he's 9 weeks old already!

Hope everyone else is doing well!

ClareB83 · 22/06/2018 09:14

Jabs were ok but they were pretty fussy afterwards esp the little one.

amysaurus87 · 25/06/2018 22:51

What's everyone dressing their little ones in for bed in this weather?

Bedroom is 23.9 degrees and my little one is in an all in one sleepsuit with no blanket. I've got a fan on but temp isn't coming down.

Aspenn17 · 26/06/2018 11:32

Our bedroom was 26 last night, with the window open and a fan on! I put my LO in just a nappy because we swaddle her in a muslin and I thought 2 layers might be too much.

We are moving house on Friday and I haven’t even started packing. Stressing about it big time!!! Got lots of help on the actual move day but not before hand.

OP posts:
ChampooPapi · 26/06/2018 14:31

@amysaurus87 do you mean a full sleepsuit with the arms and legs?! just a vest and a muslin in this heat is fine for them

amysaurus87 · 26/06/2018 15:46

@Champoo yeah full sleepsuit, he was fine overnight and i set alarms to wake myself up to check on him. The room temp dropped to 22 overnight so glad I had the sleepsuit on.

It's even hotter in his room today so he'll be in a vest only

forestftm · 27/06/2018 07:47

Our LO has been in a short sleeved vest with no legs or his nappy.

We've also got a fan going to try and keep him cool.

He's got his doctors check up and injections today 😥

Aspenn17 · 27/06/2018 08:22

Good luck forestftm!

Has anyone else’s baby started dribbling lots? My LO is 10 weeks today and constantly smiling and chatting and dribbling! I thought they didn’t start doing that until they were teething!?
