Just checking in quickly before heading off shopping, so I can find the thread later on! See you later - I am aiming to sort wedding-outfit conundrum for next Sat - I'll let you know how I get on.

Sexonknackeredlegs · 14/05/2007 10:21

Blimey! How many posts??? Has taken me an age to catch up. Internet was down last night which hasn't helped matters.

EM, hope your hip is ok, or if not you have gone to the docs. Btw, your dh is lush!

Octo, really sorry you re in such pain. Hope you too can get a docs appointment.

Pinions, how do you find the time to be on MN all night??!!

Katy, hope T settled for you in the end.

Big hugs to everyone I haven't mentioned.

Has anyone heard from Maveta? She hasn't been on for a while.

Had a good evening. K didn't do the usual yesterday evening of feeding and screaming etc etc for 2 1/2 hours. Dh fed her in the kitchen with the lights dimmed down. We had been feeding her in the sitting room with lights blaring and the TV on, so don't know if that was what made the difference. Will do the same this evening. She did wake at 1.00 and 4.30 though, but I cannot complain at that.

Hope everyone is ok, and will catch up later on. xx

CaptainDippy · 14/05/2007 10:35

Morning - DD1 out, DD2 asleep & DD3 cluster feeding, as she always does in the morning. > She's v.cute though!! Going to give her a bottle of EBM as she's pulling my bloomin' nips off!!

How's evryone doing?? I'm ok, feeling a bit over-whelmed, but ok ....... Hoping to go to the Zoo with my girls, my mother & granny today - weather seems to be holding out so far ..........

Poor Pesha - hope they "release" you, all nice + better soon hon.

Thinking of you Pesha..get well soon.

Emmymummy · 14/05/2007 11:12

morning ladies.

CD how on earth do you manage with 3 dds and get out so much? I am in awe, much respect! How's it going with your mum & gran?

Sokl - glad you had a better night. having a decent kip makes it all much much easier.

Pesha - hope you're ok honey.

Well have been to Drs, hip is agony, walking is a nightmare. have got some painkillers but need to take them on a full stomach so will wait til after lunch. Hopefully they'll kick in before Em's birthday party....Dh is being a love a currently madly tidying house in preparation, then he'll be off shopping for the food. I am very lucky .

Final MW visit due this morning . Will talk to her about my hip too as Dr had no idea if it was a post-birth thing or just coincidence.

Bramshott - thanks for your call & text .

CaptainDippy · 14/05/2007 11:18

Bless your DH EM, what a sweetie. Hope the Party goes really well & that the Meds kick in super fast once you actually get to take them ......

If I didn't get out lots, I'd go completely bonkers!!!!!!!!!

maveta · 14/05/2007 11:38

Hellloooo!! Wow it´s been a long stint away from MN for me, I think I´m about caught up now.. hello SOKL! Aren´t you a sweetie asking after me, thank-you!

Thoughts and sympathy to everyone suffering in one way or another with sore body parts, thrush, tongue ties, colic, sleepless nights, older dcs to look after etc etc etc. (I think that covers everyone more or less?! lol).

Everything is great here, Noah is a little angel. I´m scared to say toomuch out loud for fear of tempting fate but so far he´s a very contented little boy which definitely makes for happy parents! Bfíng is going great, he generally feeds every 4 hours which has helped the nips recover from the initial shock and at night we normally get one 6 hour stint and only woken up once...long may it continue!! (please please please!) dh always does the night nappy change and it´s nice to share that shift so i just need to feed him and roll back over.

We have thrush but have started the daktarin so hopefully will clear up soon. We´re both using the oral cream, but i see some of you have 2 types - does anyone know if it matters?? Doc told me to put it on his dummy - is this what you do?

He does have tongue tie but they are adament it doesn´t affect feeding which is weird as everything else I´ve read seems to say it does?? Either way he isfeeding well and although it hurts when he latches on and my nipples are sore after for a bit it now seems that may have been the thrush so will be good if that stops with the treatment. the doc has said he will check the tongue tie in 2 weeks at his month check up and decide what to do then.

Nothing else really, dh´s first day back at work today which is a bit . Wasn´t sure what I would do with myself but Noah keeps me busy, I needn´t have worried! Still feeling like I´m going to be a bit isolated.. we´ve taken him out in the car a couple of times but he´s so small and looks all squashed and uncomfy in the maxi cosi so in general I´m going to try and wait til he´s older to do many more trips.. which kind of binds me to the house again but I guess it won´t be for much longer.

Okay, this is quite long enough for now, going to check what else has been happening in MN land...

Pinions · 14/05/2007 11:41

Yep a lot of posts SOKL but mostly myself and Ellie talking crap.

Nighttimes are ok for me as long as everything done and bb asleep, plus dp has been home all weekend so chance for a bit more me time. Back to normal now i'm afraid tho mother arrives tomorrow - yippee???

Emmy - i also have a star "hubbie" he does everything around the house/shopping/emergency shopping/party stuff etc etc. Even ironing....yes i know i am lucky. Still shout at him tho .

Pinions · 14/05/2007 11:41

(Hi maveta).

Pinions · 14/05/2007 11:44

Come to think of it he's hoovered everywhere and cleaned this morning as i went shopping. Sat night he did 2 weeks worth of ironing (for 4 people). .

AND he fills my car with petrol double .

CaptainDippy · 14/05/2007 11:45

Hello Maveta!!!

CaptainDippy · 14/05/2007 11:46

bless your DP, Pinions - where'd you find him!!!!?

Pinions · 14/05/2007 11:48

I know .

maveta · 14/05/2007 11:52

Hi Pinions and CD!!

Question about clothes - Quite thrillingly I have apparently lost 24lbs already BUT I still have 11 lbs extra to lose . I changed my wardrobe over from winter to summer clothes this weekend but I don´t fit ANY of my clothes. Tops are fine but bottoms are a good few inches away from closing.

Do I:

a) Buy new clothes (reluctant to do this due to shortage of cash and the fact I really really like the clothes I have!)
b) Somehow try and lose weight without dieting ()
c) Wait and hope that the remaining 11lbs slip off as easily as the first lot did? (how likely is this?)
d) resign myself to wearing maternity jeans all summer and accept the accompanying tears of boredom and frustration every morning?
e) other (please expand)

Emmymummy · 14/05/2007 11:53

Just had last MW appt, sob. Gave her a big hug and shed a tear on her shoulder.

Hi Maveta, good to hear from you. Glad its all going so well, very of the gaps between feeds you have.

Emmymummy · 14/05/2007 11:57

Maveta - I have exactly the same clothing dilemma as you! Am just persevering with the mat jeans at the mo, in the desperate hope that soon I will get back into some of my looser normal clothes. might end up buying a couple of pairs of trousers with a drawstring waist or something to tide me over.

Pinions · 14/05/2007 11:58

Maveta I would say to be a couple of "choice" items for now....and wait until you fit into your old clothes, hopefully not too long.

Bb crying c u all later x

maveta · 14/05/2007 11:59

Emmymummy - Lol! Yes but he´s only 2 weeks old so I am trying to be prepared for it to change at any time and then it will be a HUGE shock to the system! It´s only because he´s such a sleepyhead (gets that from both dh and I, and apparently we were sleepy, lazy babies both of us too) that I often have to wake him up to eat.. even then it takes a good 15 mins to wake him up LOL.

maveta · 14/05/2007 12:01

Hmm.. yeah I guess maybe I should buy one or two bottom half things to tide me over.. really hope it doesn´t take too long for the weight to come off.. I have a crap habit of chucking clothes that no longer fit me, bigger or smaller, so I never have any flexibility in size.. all of my clothes ´just´ fit me at any one time so right now I´m pretty screwed.

(Mental reminder to STOP throwing clothes out to avoid this scenario in the future..)

octo · 14/05/2007 12:03

hello one handed here!

maveta - e) get some bump bands and wear your summer clothes - ebay. haven't posted that nappy yet and have a new black bump band not used if you want it - could post them both together - cost me £8 - still in packet. let me know xxx

saw that nurse again - have now got cream for ernies mouth and some antibiotics just in case turns into mastitis - def thrush - no thanks to nurse tho - my hv was there and said def thrush.

hugs to pesha

pinions/eca - did your milk supply reduce in the boob with thrush? should i express to build it up again???

ds1 has friend round after school - arrggghh!

will catch up later xxx

mammyjo · 14/05/2007 12:16

Morning all. Just been trying to catch up as havent been around for a few days. Busy weekend with ds party on Saturday, then to my mums for birthday lunch with wider family after all his friends had gone home. Out and about yesterday but only in the car due to it tipping down all day.

Elkie, milky vibes to you chick. Really hope you are doing ok.

Emmy, your poor thing being in such pain. Hope the pain killers kick in very soon and that you enjoy the party!

Maveta, good to see you back and really pleased things are going so well for you. Agree with the suggestion of the bump band. Might save you some cash. I am a whole stone lighter now than I was before getting pregnant with dd. The breast feeding has definitely helped the weight drop off me. Has stopped now though and I have been static for about two weeks. (I am considerably larger than you though and could do with dropping down much much more!)

Hope everyone else is doing ok. The swaddling blanket has worked wonders here and F will now sleep from 10pm to between 3 and 4am so am getting a good few hours of sleep in most nights. So grateful to Birdie for mentioning it!!

muminasaggytummy · 14/05/2007 13:07

Hi everyone

Just a quickie to say Hi and I'm thinking about you all - I really struggle to get on here alot of the time.

Had a busy weekend - went to see friends and my Dad's brithday.

Robyn is fab - weighed 9lb 2oz this morning - little proker :-)
Cannot beleive she is 4 weeks old today!

hugs to Pesha hope you are ok...that is all I've managed to pick up in my very quick scan of the thread...true to form Robyn is now wriggling and squirming and needs fed and I need to catch up on some sleep but just wanted to say HellO!
xxxx

octo · 14/05/2007 13:12

two hands now!

Emmy - hope you feel better soon xxx

Maveta - lovely to see you and really glad all is going well with Noah

We have been prescribed Nystan for ernies thrush - comes with a squirter like infacol so don't need to apply it iyswim - he didn't seem too impressed with the taste!

Have been having crisis over what to get ds2 for 4th birthday in two weeks - just don't want anymore plastic stuff so have bought him a katana kettler go cart - bit of a big pressie but atleast it will be outside and will last for yonks! Tempting to buy him some little presents too but am going to resist!

Must go play cars with ds2 now!
