Your dh needs to understand that you will have a breakdown if things don't change - you can't keep going on no sleep. I've been there and ended up in a complete pit, mentally.

CaptainDippySuperBoobs · 18/05/2007 22:59

Men just want to feel useful - and I guess DH's "doing the building work" is what he feels he can cope with & contribute right now .... I am not advocating his behaviour cos I think he totally needs to "wake up & smell the coffee / baby puke"; but I am just sort of explaining "men" - not that they can be "explained" in any way, shape or form - but the whole building thing is something my hubby would do too - It's kind of the "me man, me make fire" instinct that seems to come alive in them at these times of crisis / desperate need. He probably needs a good slap, tbh. He probably feels inadequate. I hope I am making some sort of sense. Whereabouts are you kneehigh??

octo · 18/05/2007 22:59

just quickly before I go - feed them all then go to a friends or neighbours for a sleep! You won;t be able to hear them or whoever is looking after them. Or like me, invest in some earplugs from Boots - magic!

Kneehighinnappies · 18/05/2007 23:01

Right ladies dd1 has finally shut up after 3 hours of non stop crying, how the hell she managed that I have no idea what so ever.
I have to go sleep now i am just so tired.
I will be back on tomrrow, as I have so much more to vent and really need to talk and doing it over the net seems to help more than trying to do it to real people, (yes DH I am looking at you!)

AngeG · 18/05/2007 23:02

Right Guys I'm off to bed.

Thinking of you KHIN and hoping DH can help you out more and give you some space.

Dippy - Can I just say you have a wondeful way with words and always say the right things in a perfect way. You are so much more eloquent than me. Well done you

CaptainDippySuperBoobs · 18/05/2007 23:03

Hurrah for DD1 stopping crying - that certainly was a marathon, wasn't it!!? She could rival my DD2 any day!! Go & try to get some sleep now sweetie - and I'll be "listening" for you vent tomorrow.

CaptainDippySuperBoobs · 18/05/2007 23:04

Thank you, Ange. That's the nicest thing anyone's said to me in a long time. Means a lot.

Sweet Dreams mummies ...... xxxx

So true about men, CD. I had PND after having dd and had a bit of a breakdown - DH had to take time off work etc and I remember him saying "I had no idea you were feeling so bad, you should have told me" - honestly he hadn't noticed becuase I hadn't spelt out in words of one syllable how I was feeling (stupidly just assumed he'd notice...).

Hi Ellie!! Sounds like an interesting sort of evening ..... Octo came up with a new thread title ....

"Super Boobs is a Nutter!"

I rather like it!

CaptainDippySuperBoobs · 18/05/2007 23:21

Right - think I need to hit the hay myself now ..... Night lovely ladies! xx

liath · 18/05/2007 23:23

What's a plate garden?

Better this time CD. thanks. combination of easier baby and more help. been weepy at times but no sign of the dreaded PND proper fingers crossed.

another vote for the thread title

liath · 18/05/2007 23:25

Octo, are your other kids in school? My DS is in school but if I meet you in school hours I will have my DD with me, she is nearly 3. I don't mind meeting you at the Mall but would have her with me so would have to see how it goes/take her to look at the fountain and the ELC etc

octo · 20/05/2007 21:46

WCL will post on new thread xx
