Thanks @Hazandduck I also drink buckets of water so I do think it's exhaustion. Last night felt like a better night and I just worked out I had 6 hrs in total spread over 3 blocks!! I hope the screeching calms down soon it does sound great although agree she is probably finding her voice as L squeaks in phases too z

Hazandduck · 19/03/2018 18:30

Ah glad you got a bit more sleep! I still wake up randomly. Matilda has napped much better today, but she woke up at half 4 which she hasn’t done for so long!
She has definitely found her voice, my
God she goes nuts shrieking and screeching, and last night she started blowing raspberries for the first time and has been doing it today 😄 xx

DuRezidal · 19/03/2018 20:18

@butterybollocks she is 6 and is exactly the same. She Mothers him so much and doesn't stop kissing him.

butterybollocks · 20/03/2018 09:11

It's lovely isn't it @durezidal? I wasn't sure how the age gap would work out but it's great. DD entertains him, cuddles him, and is also pretty good at telling us why he's crying. She did want a sister but now says brothers are the best. She came up to me the other day and said "thank you for giving me a brother" So sweet.

butterybollocks · 21/03/2018 16:24

I've ventured into the 21st century and I think I've found some of you on Instagram. I'm ladybecky84

Hazandduck · 21/03/2018 23:27

Yay, well done @buttery 😂 I’ve followed you back, think I found you too @Durez, I’m loving all the beautiful horse pictures. You live my dream!
You both make me desperately want a baby brother or sister for Matilda. I need to calm down ha. X

lydiangel83 · 22/03/2018 07:15

I've also followed you all :)

butterybollocks · 23/03/2018 05:41

@hazandduck if it makes you feel any less broody, I've been up since 3.30am when dd woke Freddie up by coming into our room to tell us she had pins and needles, repeatedly, complete with banging all the doors on her way in out. She'll be up for the day in half an hour so that's my night's sleep done Angry

lydiangel83 · 23/03/2018 07:09

I've been up since 3:30am and Liliana has been asleep! What's that about!) I'm exhausted and should be sleeping - I do believe overtired is a thing for adults too :-/ got a wedding evening do tonight and taking baby with us as she is too difficult at night still

Topsyloulou · 23/03/2018 08:30

DS (3) slept in our bed last night for the first time ever. He was having a recurring bad dream & thought it might soothe him being in with us. It worked a treat for him, fast asleep in minutes as was DP, I was awake for ages & had a very fitful sleep then at 3 gave up & got into DS's bed. I've probably had 3 hours sleep all night. Iris slept through it all & was a happy smiley girl when she woke up at 6.30. It's going to be a very long day today though.

butterybollocks · 23/03/2018 09:07

Caffeine and cake needed all round today! Brew Cake Freddie and dd also went back to sleep but Fred was sleeping on me so I was awake.

theotherendofthesockportal · 23/03/2018 09:21

Another bleary eyed mother here this morning. I'm having difficulty staying asleep and I'm averaging around 4 hours of broken sleep every night. Bea sleeps - why don't I?! This morning she has been babbling to since 6am and I'm drinking coffee by the bucket load.

Zampa · 23/03/2018 11:54

I've just noticed a baby poo stain on my jeans, but I'm already out! Luckily going swimming so don't have to wear them for very long!

Is anyone trying weaning? We started with a bit of baby porridge/ rice last week. Yesterday we tried puréed broccoli and Bea acted like I was trying to poison her. On the flip side I made her mash potato today and she cried when I she finished it all because she liked it that much!

DuRezidal · 24/03/2018 07:13

We have started the weaning process as we had a chat with his nursery key worker and we just can't fill him with his bottles at the moment.

We started him on baby rice and now he is on fruit and baby rice in the morning, and then he has so far had sweet potato and carrot which he absolutely loved!

Zampa · 25/03/2018 07:08

My lo is nowhere near ready for weaning and I'm perfectly happy to wait another couple of months before starting!

butterybollocks · 25/03/2018 08:58

Gah. Freddie has just got over a cold and started sleeping again - and then he woke up at midnight sniffing and snuffling with the start of another cold :(

lydiangel83 · 25/03/2018 14:59

I'm currently dairy free for another week (doing a two wk trial then completely forgot and ate a cupcake at a wedding on Friday!), and if the trial works and Liliana is dairy intolerant then have to wait until 6 months to wean. I'm happy to wait from convenience perspective but she is always grabbing at our food and definitely ready. She is quite big now and I think big enough to sit up and eat/ play with food x

Hazandduck · 25/03/2018 22:36

@Zampa, I find sometimes after Matilda has done an absolute poonami I can smell poo somewhere, then usually find it on a sleeve or something 😂
I have spent the afternoon puréeing vegetables @Sock. Matilda is ready I think, she really stares when we are eating. When she was 16 weeks old my GP saw her be sick and advised me to start giving her baby rice to help her reflux as the gaviscon wasn’t working.
So I started her on baby rice about a week ago, and gave her half a rusk mashed up in milk on Wednesday. Yesterday we tried her first vegetable; pea purée, and well, she absolutely loved it. She cried when it ran out lol. We haven’t even got a high chair yet so she was in her bumbo and we all got covered pretty much! It was even in her eyelashes ha. X

Ps she will be 19 weeks old on Friday x

lydiangel83 · 26/03/2018 08:41

@Hazandduck how did you know what quantity to give her? Great pic she is so cute :)

Hazandduck · 26/03/2018 13:56

I followed the recipe from the little Cow and Gate book I got free in the post; not sure why I received it as soon as she was 17 weeks, it must be a bounty thing? It was roughly 50g frozen peas to 3tbsp of baby’s normal milk. I put a little bit more in to make it that tiny bit smoother. She loved it! I made 150g worth which filled about 6 ice cube trays and one cube is a portion, but Matilda would’ve eaten more if I’d given it I’m sure! X

Hazandduck · 26/03/2018 13:59

It is actually a really helpful book, if you haven’t got one yet I would recommend getting one if you can x

Zampa · 26/03/2018 18:45

You may so be able to get an Ella's Kitchen weaning book from the Boots' Parenting Club. If not, I'm happy to photograph the pages and share!

I've got a £20 Mothercare voucher and I'm curved they're about to go belly up ... Any ideas on what to get? DD2 has all of her big sister's clothes so maybe some toys?

theotherendofthesockportal · 26/03/2018 21:04

I have the Ella's kitchen book - it's fab! A friend has lent it me. I also have the cow and gate book which you can order of their website.

Today Bea has green bean purée which she loved!

@Zampa mothercare is going under? I have a voucher too that we need to use.
