I was brave and started a new thread!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
weirdbird · 30/04/2007 22:45

Ahh a little too far then, I have 2 buggies and a silver cross pram.

5 is "quite! impressive !!

magnolia1 · 30/04/2007 22:48

Thats exactly it I want to have a huge tantrum but when I try it's like water off a ducks back to him
The only thing that gets to him is swearing so I find myself walking upstairs then screaming 'FUCK OFF' at the top off my voice whcih is not the wright thing to do with 5 kids in the house

accessorizewithbabysick · 30/04/2007 22:52

OOooh, that is so annoying when they won't argue back!! Grrrr. Do your kids tell you off if you swear? DS1 lectured both of us on Sunday as we were shouting at each other, it's like living with mini-hitler.

think i was v.smug before about 15 mins, sorry about that. it is tough sometimes, i'm just so pleased to be feeling happy again things seem easier here for once!

magnolia1 · 30/04/2007 23:01

no coz I only ever swear when I am really really angry at dh and I think they know it's not the best time to lecture mummy Although if I swear mildly I get a telling off

Don't worry about being smug, I wasn't going to say but ds1 rolled around the floor for nearly an hour the other day

castlesintheair · 01/05/2007 07:29

Hi Eli, I didn't get your e-mail

glassslipper · 01/05/2007 07:56

hope today is better for you magnolia.

aq - so glad you're feeling brighter. know what you mean about being out of the house. mine is a constant tip which really bugs me.

dd up 2 x in the night but i am convinced 2nd time was just for a cuddle. i was so tired i just fed her but it is the excuse i need to start sending dh in

my dd will play for 10 mins in her gym quite happily which is good but i find after being up for about an hour she gets bored and i stuggle for ideas if what to do with her

have a good day everyone

Indith · 01/05/2007 11:23

Men huh Magnolia?Just don't get emotions and hormones sometimes.

AG glad this week is better. Its an ellaroo I have but one woven wrap much the same as another I think (just don't tell all the baby wearers I said that!) I use it all the time and ds loves it. SO comfy too I find the weight distribution much better than a front carrier and you can spread it over your shoulders too which helps.

Ds can manage half an hour or so playing on the sheepskin or his play gym but only first thing in the morning or just before bathtime when he has nappy off playtime! The rest of the time he is much better at being put down than he used to be but he needs constant playing with. Getting so much better at naps though!

The growth spurt is visiting, 1.5/2 hourly last night.

Elibean · 01/05/2007 11:56

THanks AQ, dd up twice for feeds and twice for tummy (and very very snotty again ) but I had no problem going back to sleep each time...! Am still shattered though, imagine I will be for the next six months or so - seem to remember I didn't feel un-tired again till dd1 was about 2?!

Castles, sorry, will try again - but we're off to Paris tomorrow (passport allowing, not arrived yet) and not back till Sunday night, so may be then if I don't get anymore online time. Not sure why it didnt' get through, will post when I next email so you can tell me again if its stuck somewhere in space.

Re playing: dd will play for ages alone if put on play gym in garden, with thick towel over half of it to make a sort of tent. For some reason she loves it, and it relaxes her - especially if mirror is angled so she can see herself. Has had some great naps there too

Elibean · 01/05/2007 11:56

Magnolia, ((()))s to you - I can totally relate to wanting a good tantrum, for different reasons atm but oh frequently dh-directed anyway

Cocobabe · 01/05/2007 13:00

Hiya all ....

Yesterday was hard , ds refused his bottle feeds all day , had a b/f feed at 6am , 2 solids meal then gave in to the bottle at 10pm - 5oz of formula . He was so grumpy with me !! I was worried that i might be in for a horrible night but amazingly he slept from 10.30 to 5.45am !! . He only drank 1oz from bottle this morning , few spoonfuls of porridge then kicked up a big fuss and just like that he fell asleep in his bouncer chair ! then at 11am he actually drank all of EBM from bottle !..and now hes having a nap (since 12) in his COT !!!! Unbelievable !

babypowder · 01/05/2007 13:02

OI! Who did that? You at the back - stand up. Did you wake my baby up every 2 hours in the night? I KNOW it was you. Any more of that and I will get very angry. I need my unbroken nights back.

babypowder · 01/05/2007 13:04

Glad to hear I'm not the only one who gets fed up with DH. How can he possibly be more tired than me? [utterly selfish cow emoticon]

Cocobabe · 01/05/2007 13:09

P.s My house is a mess too ! ...whenever Ds is happy in his bouncer or on playmat which doesnt last very long each session - I grab any minute in those to do a quick tidy up- wipe clean etc ...But I really want to hoover !! and only do at w/e when DH can hold DS as he doesnt like the hoover ! but with dd1 around she makes so much mess I'd love to hoover in the week too ..mind you i should be doing that now but I want this time to be ' me' time !

Good luck with the move 2moro girls - will be thinking of you - {{{happy move vibes}}}

Castles - Have a great time in Paris

Magnolia - I know exact what you mean , much as i love my dh he can piss me off sometimes and forgets that I can get insecure sometimes with my hormones getting back to normal - he thinks Im being flipping stupid at times - so at these times I want to have a tantrum too

jabberwocky · 01/05/2007 16:44

Helloooooo! Sorry to be away so long. Seems I never get a chance at the computer anymore I'm having a slow day at work so grabbed the opportunity to catch up.

Indith - how are the spots?

Oli and Margo - good luck with the move. I can't imagine packing right now

mag1 - have had similar going on with dh. I have now started saying "Don't you walk off when I'm trying to talk to you!" That makes me madder than whatever it was I was originally angry about.

bp and everyone else with babies who won't settle more than 10 minutes - ds2 is quite the same. Just spent a fortune on a new pod chair with tray. It came in yesterday, ds2 hated it. Am crossing my fingers that he will change his mind. He is starting to figure out the Johnny Jump Up though and he did actually lie on a blanket under an umbrella most of the morning on Sunday while i replanted the herb garden. I was quite shocked that I was able to get it done.

Sleep is not as horrible as last week. We haven't had anymore of the 2 - 3 hour wakings in the middle of the night. Still waking up at least twice if not 3 times tho.

jabberwocky · 01/05/2007 16:45

Oh, and very messy house here as well. Dh moans about it constantly!

Olihan · 01/05/2007 16:52

Well, I'm not moving tomorrow, hopefully Thursday but maybe next Tues Problems at bottom of chain apparently. I will be SO glad when this is all over. [frustrated, stressed]

My house is also a constant tip, moving or otherwise, I'm hoping at the moment that when we move it'll be better because we'll have so much more space . I suspect that more space = more mess though .

Had the men here to pack up the house today so we;re living a very minimalist life for a few days - why do I think we'll be raiding lots of them?

who was it said I'd be offline for a while? Broadband is on my priority list, if it takes too long I'll get dh to read me the thread over the phone from work! Or print it everyday, that's a good plan.....

AQ, great news that you are feeling much better.

Magnolia, know exactly what you mean abput dh's, you have my sympathy!

Eli, hope the passport arrives and you have a lovely time in Paris, and dd2 starts sleeping again.

Indith, I think we may actually share a ds. I was up every 1.5 - 2 hrs last night too, little monkey.

Mouldy pushchairs here too from being in the garage. My newest double takes me up to 7 buggies in 3 years . That's bad, isn't it?

Indith · 01/05/2007 16:53

Spots getting all crusty thanks Jabber

Ds and I both in pjs as he decided he hadn't done a good projectile in a while so he had better make it spectacular! Now he is wondering where all the milk in his tummy went and why the milk machine is flowing all slowly

Flat also a tip, I used to get it all done in no time, now it takes all week to do it bit by bit and then I have to start again. I hate looking under my bed, the dust bunnies are evolving.

Indith · 01/05/2007 16:56

poor you Oli?

If we share a ds how about you do the nights and I'll do days this week then swap?

Indith · 01/05/2007 16:56

! not ? oops

jabberwocky · 01/05/2007 17:13

Eli - sending passport vibes your way

Indith - ds1 used to be champs at projectile spit-up. I think I changed my clothes as often as his for the first 6 months.

glassslipper · 01/05/2007 17:27

well, been to Drs this afternoon about both DD1 and DD2.

DD1 has a verrucca but he suggested we just leave it as its on her tow and wont hurt her.

DD2 still has cradle cap so he has prescribed coal tar shampoo. Anyone used this? We've tried dentinox and olive oil but it hasnt shifted it.
She also has a lump in her leg which appeared after her last jabs last month. He said it was a small haemotoma (sp) that would eventually break down but that i shouldnt be worried.
She also has quite a flat head. The HV suggested it would go on its own by age 2 but it really is quite pronounced. He suggested we leave it as it is likely to sort itself but to go back in a few months if it appears to be worsening.

Its so odd. DD1 had no ailments until about age 18 months. I felt like a real 'anxious mother' when i was there although by GP is very nice and said i was right to talk to him.

jabberwocky · 01/05/2007 17:32

GS, have you heard of putting duct tape on warts/veruccae? Evidently it works quite well.

As far as flat heads go, castles and I have been discussing this offline. If it is really noticeable to you, I would at least do some positional therapy using a sleepcurve mattress and/or one of those u-shaped neck pillows. I can CAT you with the articles I used when working with ds1 and to a lesser extent ds2.

jabberwocky · 01/05/2007 17:33

My duct tape link disappeared!

Olihan · 01/05/2007 17:33

LOL Indith, the sleep deprivation hasn't made me that dozy yet (ask me next week though, it's getting close!).

glassslipper · 01/05/2007 17:40

Thanks Jabber. Funnily enough I used duct tape on a verrucca when i was pregnant and it worked The trouble is DD1s is right on the end of her 2nd to little toe so keeping on any kind of plaster would be really difficult!

If you could CAT me with the flat head stuff I'd really appreciate it. Do I have to be set up with anything special for you to do that? I just ordered a u-shaped neck pillow from e-bay yesterday as I figured it would help when she's in her car seat. Part of the problem is she always sucks her left thumb and lies on the left side of her head to get to it. Every night i try and lie her on the right but she just moves straight back to where she wants to be
