glassslipper · 30/04/2007 16:46

something like this

babypowder · 30/04/2007 16:58

Just typed a really long post, and its disappeared!

Commiserations to Oli on the packing.

Indith - I can't believe you can't get a reliable diagnosis!

I'd typed loads more, but can't remember - catch up properly later!

SachaF · 30/04/2007 17:41

For future ref if you didn't already try it when the post somehow gets deleted - right click the mouse and select 'undo' - sometimes works (depending on what you did)

Cocobabe · 30/04/2007 18:04

Thanks guys ....think Ive managed to find summat - what you think of this ?

Hi Castles, sadly I think you are right, she is desperately trying to move, I ended up with her in the babybyorn (sp?) so I could at least make myself some toast to eat, buttering toast one handed is a tad hard...

My first one was the same, but wasn't half as heavy, my husband was commenting that he is finding Hannah harder and I pointed out that by the time DD1 was this weight she was crawling.

We are now into 6-9 mth clothes I couldnt stretch the 3-6mth stuff going any longer.

I have been increasing the dosage as she expands, as my GP who is great just gave me the formula you need to work out the dosage for her weight, which is great.

weirdbird · 30/04/2007 18:33

Am feeling quite frustrated otherwise as there are far too many things that I need to be doing, even an hour a day while DD1 is at school would be ok.

Just keep trying to remind myself that this time wont last forever and she will start crawling soon (hopefully!)

I bought a Bumbo at a NNS and she can almost arch herself out of it, really glad I didnt invest in one full price

weirdbird · 30/04/2007 18:35

The good news is the Bumps and Babes group I run had 32 mums turn up last week, a record for me since I took over last year. Its the one time she is happy, as she loves all the other babies.

weirdbird · 30/04/2007 18:38

Huge hugs to those moving, and an extra dose of patience...

Spoke to CM today and she is settling into her new place,

MARGOsBeenPlayingWithMyNooNoo · 30/04/2007 18:41

moving babies - I find it easiest to lay dd2 over my lap - face down and jig her and pat her back. It doesn't solve it but gives your arms a rest.

I can't keep up today

castlesintheair · 30/04/2007 19:29

WB, can I ask what the formula is re ranitadine? It's a pita for me to get DD2's dosage upped.

DD2 also does the back arching/standing up in the Bumbo! She did actually topple out backwards the other day. Fortunately I was there and she wasn't on a table (as she often is ) I think it might come in handy once she's capable of moving about but wants somewhere to sit.

DD2 is also in 6-9 months clothes now. They sound like twins!

accessorizewithbabysick · 30/04/2007 21:00

I think a decent sling at this stage is a must - Indith, do you use your didymos much? DS2 happy as larry in the babybjorn but my god it's uncomfortable after 10 mins or so. They just want to be part of the world, don't they? I'm thinking about ditching the carrycot this week as he seems so fed up with it, but won't have that face-to-face interaction anymore (could resurrect the bugaboo from the garage I spose, but dp will kill me as i ought to have sold it months ago).

Coco, bag looks lovely Urchin do some really nice ones too, maybe JoJo as well?

I'm actually finding that I totally forget what the topics of the day are as soon as I start typing but Indith, how can they not know it's cp? Mad. Weirdbird, know exactly you feel about getting stuff done, ds refusing most days to have more than half an hour nap and the rest of the time wants me in sight so I lug him from room to room whilst I tidy bits here and there. House looks like a bomb's hit it today but here I am on mumsnet ignoring the state of my kitchen. I do try to remember that I can have a nice house next year but I'll probably never have a baby again and quite frankly I prefer smiling at him than cleaning worktops!
Good luck with packing, margo & oli, guess you'll be offline for a while?

magnolia1 · 30/04/2007 21:17

"I do try to remember that I can have a nice house next year but I'll probably never have a baby again and quite frankly I prefer smiling at him than cleaning worktops!"

Exactly the reason my house is a tip

weirdbird · 30/04/2007 21:17

accesorize whereabouts are you?, my friend wants to buy a bugaboo...

Yep I do the same lugging her from room to room trying to get stuff done, its hard, you want to spend time with them while there so tiny, but the house being a tip gets to me and I get ratty when I cant find things am tripping over things, also want to spend time with DD1 who is being great about geting so little time with me, but I dont want her to start resenting Hannah as well.

Castles - Dosage is 2.5mg per kg of weight per dose.

The solution I have is 150mg per 10ml or 15mg per 1ml (makes it easier!)

So for me 2.5 x 7kg = 17.5mg per dose which equates to 17.5/15 = 1.2ml

Hope that makes sense, she wants me to check with her before any large changes but that is the basic premise.

Elibean · 30/04/2007 22:10

Eek, where do you lot find the time to do all that chatting?

In other words, today was a shocker - not a minute to MN

But I avoided matricide, and am not in the slammer...things could be worse....

Very very sleepy now as only got about four hours last night (mostly not dd's fault this time, just couldn't sleep, ugh) but have vaguely picked up the theme of moving babies and arching backs. dd2 seems to have suddenly stopped being a little baby and turned into a would-be toddler overnight: she tries to stand ALL the time, arches with vigour especially scarily in the bath, wants to be moved every five minutes or gets bored, and - hurrah - is on her second day of being fairly interested in rolling some babyrice around in her mouth

I can't believe my teeny newborn is going to be six months old in three weeks' time...

Elibean · 30/04/2007 22:12

WB and Castles, I think our dds are triplets. And mine is on 1.2 mls too

ps Castles, did mail you garbled overtired mail, did you get it? The first two I sent to Lucy didnt' get to her, so am not assuming you did just 'cos it didn't bounce!

pps Indith, sorry you didn' get a clear answer re pox...does sound pretty poxy to me, it can do funny things in terms of location according to my friends whose LOs have had it (dd1 has been exposed tons and not had it yet

babypowder · 30/04/2007 22:13

I read something today that babies at this age can spend up to 15 minutes playing with their toys on their own. Clearly they don't mean HUMAN babies (or at least not mine ) It took 45minutes today to sow lettuce, thanks to the constant pick up-cuddle-chat-put down-scream-whimper-pick up-cuddle .....

Which reminds me I really must dig out some baby toys . Poor DD2 has to make do with a few soft bugs I've hung on her bouncy chair and a wooden rattle.

Elibean · 30/04/2007 22:14

ppps dd1 said, on seeing dd2 this morning, 'Mummy, I weely love my lickle sister. I LOVE having a lickle sister'

Though there are moments that clearly wavers

Elibean · 30/04/2007 22:15

BP, x post - 15 minutes?? Five, yes. Ten, if she's really chilled!

weirdbird · 30/04/2007 22:17

I can normally leave the room long enough to put the kettle on, but not long enough to actually make a cuppa or drink it....

magnolia1 · 30/04/2007 22:35

Sorry girls need to say this. Won't go into detail and haven't got the energy to start a thread but

I HATE MY F*&#ING HUSBAND SOMETIMES I am sure I am not the only one but he can be the loveliest man sometimes so why does he have the ability to make me feel like shit when he was in the wrong to start with!!!
And to top it off If I then have a go at him or get emotional I get the same crap response which is 'Have you taken your tablet toady!!!!!!' WTF as if pnd can be blamed for him being a wanker

Ok its off my chest now, thanks for listening

magnolia1 · 30/04/2007 22:37

toady = today

weirdbird · 30/04/2007 22:40

Magnolia - Really know where you are coming from my DH is one of the best and I know it but I was sooooo angry with him today I wanted to throw myself on the floor and have a temper tantrum just to get it out my system I was so angry and frustrated with him.

accessorizewithbabysick · 30/04/2007 22:41

Hope you feel better m1
