I was brave and started a new thread!

Is anyone elses LOs screaming like they have colic at the moment. I'm sure it's dd2s teeth, but it only happens at night from about 7 until 12.

I have given her bonjela, teething powders and calpol and I'm at a loss as to what to do next.

Any ideas?

Magnolia, so at having a night out wearing a normal bra! I'm still not sure how much is OK to drink when BF. Is a couple of glasses of wine too much, or OK, or should I just say sod it and as longas I'm not falling over drunk then I'm not doing any harm? It's all so confusing. And this is my second - I'm sure I didn't worry this much with DD1.

Margo, nothing constructive, I'm afraid. Just loads of sympathy.

LittleMissLate · 27/05/2007 21:45

I think a couple of glasses of wine is okay Babypowder - particularly if you're not going to be feeding for a few hours. Wouldn't get completely plastered though! We had a antenatal group girls night out a few weeks ago - I had 3 glasses of wine and could hardly walk (had not had more than 1 glass at a time for over a year). Fortunately dd didn't wake up until 4am that night so it was out of my system but I felt extremely rough when I had to drag myself out of bed No normal bras for me when I go out - still 5 cup sizes larger than before I got pregnant...

babypowder · 27/05/2007 22:41

Thanks for that, LML. I've pretty much been sticking with the 1 glass rule (and titchy glasses they are, too), but on hols I did have 2 one night. And then felt hideously guilty.

babypowder · 28/05/2007 18:01

Hello?

Where is everyone? (Don't tell me you're having good bank holiday weather and I'm the only one stuck inside )

GlassSlipper · 28/05/2007 18:03

hi. I'm around. Its been raining all day. DD1 and I have done every jigsaw and puzzle she owns. DD2 has been full of cold for a whole week now and is all over the place. grumpy most of the time. DH has both of them at the mo

Elibean · 28/05/2007 21:06

I'm sort of around - just got back from weekend at my Mums in Oxford. Very grateful to have been away so dd1 was distracted with cousins and different toys for two whole wet days!

Now submerged in washing and unpacking, and wishing I could sleep for a week.

dd2's sleeping went to pot (not that it was great before) whilst away

And she seems to HATE solids, for some reason

Anyone else have a solid-unfriendly baby? dd1 loved them, so new territory for me.

Magnolia, glad you had a good night out, bra and all! too, of course, but sort of vicariously pleased that one of us stayed up late dancing, too

accessorizewithbabysick · 28/05/2007 21:37

Magnolia, dancing sounds lovely, I do some with the ds's but not the same is it to the Night Garden music (lovely as it is). I change out of my feeding bra every night into a proper one and breathe a sigh of relief. Tried on loads of tops these last few days and they all looked hideous with ghastly feeding bra underneath. I hate them!!

Eli, sorry sleep still bad, phaps as you were away mnet sleep vibes went amiss? Sending some now. Also sending non-colicky thingy vibes to Margo

I have both tomorrow and NOTHING planned, OMG what will i do, we've done all the museums, garden centre, art gallery and libraries in recent weeks there's nothing left to do in the rain!! Plus cleaner coming at 8.30 so must get out of the house earlyish. I am stricken to admit that I have cleaner and house still a tip but there you go I am clearly a slattern

Where is everyone who's not posted for months now - NorthernMama, Spinamum etc. Even Oli's disappeared for a while when you said you wouldn't!

Indith · 29/05/2007 15:00

Yes we are missing people....

Normal bras.....wow......I need to go shopping for new tops and a normal bra since feeding bras do not fit under nice summer tops.

You been to the Deep lately AQ? Tanks of fish keep me amused for hours.

HV came today, not as bad as the normal one and she had heard of BLW although she told me I should wait until 9 months before offering finger food. Other than that if you delete all mention of the word 'mashed' from the conversation she was ok.

I hope you get some sleep soon Eli. I really should be more generous ith my sleep vibes now I get sleep. Ds did 6.45 til 7.15 Sunday night Last night was not good though he has not grasped the concept of consistency!

accessorizewithbabysick · 29/05/2007 15:21

Good sleeping there, Indith My 2 got up 6 times last night combined although I did miss a few of them as I had my earplugs in...They're both napping now, bless em whilst I make tea!
I go to the deep every six weeks, I am sooooooo bored with it now, ds1 just runs all the way through whilst I chase him hanging onto the pushcair for dear life. They both like the fish tho.

Indith · 29/05/2007 15:28

Ah well. Those tanks of jelly fish though....I so want one in my living room.

ds also napping, on me, it being the only way to get a long afternoon nap out of him so I am attached to the laptop.

accessorizewithbabysick · 29/05/2007 15:35

Yeah, the jellyfish are my favourites. I get a glimpse of them as I sprint by these days

Mentioned blw to my dad (pediatrician) and he was very cynical about it, must send him the unicef paper. I've taken the route that I know and just given a few veg purees so far, might go blw with the fruit the next few days.

GlassSlipper · 29/05/2007 15:38

Hi,

I gave DD a baby biscuit yesterday for pudding and she wolfed it down. Gagged to start with then worked it out

mylittlefreya · 29/05/2007 15:55

Can I join? as in, can anyone with a Dec 06 baby join? Freya was born on Christmas Eve 5 weeks prem, still a littley, still up multiple times a night, and sleeping on me is the only chance of a good nap here too!

accessorizewithbabysick · 29/05/2007 16:09

Hello and welcome freya and freya's mum! Course anyone can join in. Five week prem, that must have been frightening for you, is she your first?

MARGOsBeenPlayingWithMyNooNoo · 29/05/2007 16:10

Of course you can! Anyone's welcome

Hello btw!

I'm getting over the evening madness by cluster feeding once more.

I can see her canine teeth moving down her gums. I wish she would cut a tooth, she is in real pain in the evenings

OP posts:
Indith · 29/05/2007 16:14

Hello and welcome

Ds still asleep, my arse is numb and I really want to move....he has had a bloody good nap now I'd love him to wake up...maybe I'll go pop him in his cot, he won't nap for long in there but tends to wake up happy due to being distracted by toys when he opens his eyes.

GS that must have been so cute.

mylittlefreya · 29/05/2007 16:18

She is the first... I'm sure I'd do loads of things different if I had a bigger one too!

Does you lo cluster feed 'naturally' or do you have to encourage/ 'make' her?

accessorizewithbabysick · 29/05/2007 16:21

I think if either of my two had been boys or born prem I'd be quite different with them too!

LOL at cluster feeding, ds2 just does it all day long naturally! I just go with the flow most of the time.

GlassSlipper · 29/05/2007 16:22

welcome mylittlefreya.

Yes, indith, it was. She loves her food so much I cant believe it. She shouts at us if we are all at the table and she has nothing. I wont say how much she eats but it is a lot. We gave her some banana but she gagged so tried a baby biscuit and it went down very nicely. She is so full of cold though at the moment and she is hardly complaining either.

I wish we'd get some teeth here too. DD1 didnt until 8 months though so I expect DD2s will be about the same time.

DD1 clusterfed for England but DD2 isnt bothered. Apart from this cold waking her 1 x a night she has all but cracked the nights so I feel blessed.

mylittlefreya · 29/05/2007 16:33

I tried to persuade her to do it for a bit, about two weeks - and we did get a bit longer at night. Now she won't - she'd rather just eat in the night!

She's fine now, just a littley - cue endless comments of 'she can't be 5 months'.

GlassSlipper · 29/05/2007 16:34

mylittlefreya - how little? Mine was only 4 days early but is ickle. Just over 13lb now and ssome of these guys have biiiiiiig babies

Indith · 29/05/2007 16:38

there is a little girl born 3 weeks early at my bumps and babies group. She is a day younger than ds and so so small but really cute. Very funny seeing this tiny little pixie doll doing much the same things as ds.

We were developing a theory today that boys have less patience than girls. All the girls in the group try to sit, flop over and just lie there or giggle, they are so laid back but the boys get very frustrated and scream if they can't manage something. What is the consensus on here? How much patience do your LOs have?

mylittlefreya · 29/05/2007 16:41

Just under 13. Hooray - someone else still in 0-3 month clothes!

I don't have a very placid baby. Fury often at the 'I can't fit the whole of Nemo in my mouth/ I want to play with mummy's phone/ why can't I hang out the side of the pushchair?' Maybe she is a boy baby in disguise?

mylittlefreya · 29/05/2007 16:42

And forgot - 5 weeks early
