Indith · 29/05/2007 16:46

lol my ds is still in 0-3....on the top, he is in 6-9 on the bottom

I am now accompanied by an awake baby who is having a rare moment of happy awake time without interaction from mummy...I shall enjoy it while it lasts.

GlassSlipper · 29/05/2007 20:58

my DD is in a mix of 0-3 and 3-6 tops but all of the bottoms are 0-3. Teeny tiny. And sound asleep right now.....

jabberwocky · 29/05/2007 21:54

Oh, wow, I came over to post a link to mylittlefreya's thread about reflux and here she is! Welcome, mlf

btw, ds2 has been in 3 - 6 tops and 0 -3 bottoms. Glad to know there are some other mismatched sizes out there.

magnolia1 · 29/05/2007 22:07

Welcome mlf
My daughter who is now nearly 4 was 7 weeks prem but only a littley for a while by 6 months she had caught up. She did cluster feed for a while and was up in the night for a good 6-8 months

Ds1 who is now just 6 months was 3 weeks early and is in 6-9m stuff so he's a biggy

The best advice I can give on the feeding is go with the flow, if she's your only one make the most of when she sleeps and sleep too, it will pass and they grow so very quickly

Well ds1's reflux seems to be getting worse since solids I haven't been giving molk products so it's not that. Maybe he just needs his dose increasing. I must get him weighed.

magnolia1 · 29/05/2007 22:08

Margo, I know the feeling wih the teech. I swaer ds1 has been teething since 16 weeks but still not one tooth Getting worse at the moment so maybe it's almost here.

Welcome, MLF!

Unchief, cluster feeding is that stage (that seems to come around every fortnight or so)when you do nothing but BF, especially in the evenings.

DD2 has suddenly started screaming in the car when we are out for more than 30 mins or so. All she wants is to be held - she doesn't seem to be hungry or anything, jsut annoyed that she's not getting any attention. Does anyone have a magic trick to stop this? (I am starting to think seriously about a dummy in the car ...)

And I gave DD2 2.5mls of medised today (went out and bought a bottle on the strength of recommendations on here!) as she has had a streaming cold for a week, and she's done nothing but sleep all day. That may be a coincidence, but its a bit scary.

accessorizewithbabysick · 29/05/2007 22:43

bp, could you possibly plan naps to co-incide with car journeys? we do that to avoid the screaming, he just gets bored I think. We have one of these from mothercare which he really likes or anything that they can look at strapped to the back seat? Or, you know, nothing wrong with a dummy! DS has found his thumb, but not consistently so I shove a dummy in often.

Hi all, been away for four days at sils - ds loved sitting in bumbo with 3 kids running around him, or getting hugs, or playing hide and seek (adult assistance required!) and sharing bathtime with them. However he was a fussy feeder with so much playing going on around him!
Yesterday we all went swimming, and he posseted twice on my shoulder, then after his bedtime feed he was wide awake so sat on sils lap, checked his temperature - high! so gave calpol - and up came several ounces of milk! poor chap. Fingers crossed just a teething temperature although he has snotty nose as well. He has been knawr-ing (sp?) at everything!
Welcome Freya.
Congrats Indith.
ds born at 9lbs, now 14 lbs (1 day younger than Freya), in 6-9 bottoms and 0-3 top today - real nappies having something to do with the big bum!

Cocobabe · 30/05/2007 11:50

My - you've all been busy !!

Had my 1st baby break over the weekend - went to my brother's and left the kids with dh and mil !! first time away from ds..ahh it was bliss catching up with sleep ..and drank plentyful wine ! Bruv took me to Vinapolis and had too many tastings which was equilvant to having 6-8 glasses of wine! - ive only had a couple since pg !! Upon return home , ds has has a new babble sound - which sounded like dada ( previously it was just alot of ahhhs - urrgghhss !)- I go away and miss this ?! Are all your lo babbling lots now ?

DS is in a mis of 3-6mths & 6-9mths clothes (has broad shoulders just like his dad )

Congrats Indith on finishing exams !
Welcome My little freya ( love the name)
AQ - have you tried putting on cd on of kids songs ? it worked with my dd1 !

castlesintheair · 30/05/2007 14:22

Hi all. Someone said their LOs reflux is worse now they are on solids, can't remember who? Well, DD2's is also worse. I got her ranitidine upped and she still spews. Asked the GP and she said solids will improve it. The only thing I can think is that she eats too much. She seems quite happy though, apart from wanting to be held ALL THE TIME when she's not asleep.

Welcome Freya. My niece was 3 months early and weighed less than a 1lb. She's nearly 2 and has caught up completely. She also has no developmental issues. I dread to think what DD2 weighs - I'd say well over 7kgs (20lbs?). Don't be envious mummies of littlies please, as she's really heavy (likes to be carried as I said) and all that rubbish about bigger babies sleeping well is as she wakes up about 4-6 times a night

jabberwocky · 30/05/2007 15:51

Just noticed your lo was early mlf. So was ds2, by about 3 1/2 weeks. He was just over 15 pounds when we did weigh-in last week for his 6 month check-up so he's catching up pretty well.

Sorry to hear about the reflux issues. Can't think why that would be but reflux is a conundrum sometimes methinks.

magnolia1 · 30/05/2007 17:01

It was me who said about worsening reflux castles. Ds1 doesn't eat too much in the way of solids and he can just have a quick feed and still bring up loads I was hoping it would get better. Not sure whether to try another medication or not?

OonaghBhuna · 30/05/2007 17:11

Hi there havent been on MN for ages but have been lurking every now and then. We didnt have the internet for a while and also I just couldnt find time to write. DD1 was two a couple of weeks ago and DD2 was five months at the weekend. She has been hard work but evntually settled into a routine at night and was sleeping through till about 5am. However a few weeks ago this stopped and she was waking every two hours and screaming in between, she refused to sleep in her cot. She cut her first tooth and she settled again until last week. I had very little sleep over the weekend and now she has a rotten cold!!! She still has reflux I havent attempted any solids yet. I feel exhausted but she does seem more settled today so fingers crossed we can get her routine back.

LittleMissLate · 30/05/2007 17:34

The board has got busy all of a sudden! Welcome mlf

Dd has mild silent reflux - much better since starting solids. She's not on meds though - it was the osteopath that thought she had it and the hv agreed from the description of symptoms but just said she would grow out of it and to try to keep upright as much as possible, feed little and often and gradually start solids from 17 wks. Since starting solids weight has started to go up following a line at last (approx 5oz per week having averaged about 1 or 2 oz per week before. Dd is now 14lbs 8. bf is improving since starting solids in that she doesn't scream through a feed now

Indith · 30/05/2007 18:33

hello OB, good to see you back and hoping things settle down for you.

Coco well done you having child free time!

I have finally had my poo explosion having only had tiny amounts despite the prunes! ds and I got soaked in champagne going to meet dp after his last exam (wretched people spraying it everywhere) so we came home and got in the bath, after about an hour in which ds had a great time working out that the handles in the bath are a perfect height for pulling himself up and standing with no help from mummy at all (I think the water helps with support) I had him with his bum between my legs and his legs up which seems to be the perfect farting and pooing position. There was a lot of poo and it was petty thick so lets hope that was the lot and we can get back to a nice poo a day!

mylittlefreya · 30/05/2007 19:25

Thank you - everyone - for such a lovely welcome!! I am so unbelievably tired lately, and am considering evicting dp to the spare room til he does something about his snoring. He wakes me far more often than the baby - I can but dream of two whole hours unbroken sleep!

She had some carrot today and loved it! Feeling all happy about my cooking now. Am going to take her to the dr if a week or two of real food doesn't help any.

Bectheneck · 30/05/2007 20:48

Forgot to say congrats Indith and what a lovely way to celebrate in a bath full of baby poo!

MLF, my eldest daughter is called Freya. It's such a beautiful name and I still call her 'my little Freya' although now she's 15 it's more likely to be 'what ever happened to my little Freya?'

I wish I posted more but I never seem to have two hands free for long enough although I do a good deal of lurking!

Anyone else have trouble finishing a sentence these days? I'm always trailing off halfway through and DDs have to guess the rest. Anyway I must go and er...

MARGOsBeenPlayingWithMyNooNoo · 30/05/2007 22:01

I had an offer accepted on a house today.

So some good things happened for me today (thankyou for your kind words glassy)

Hope you're doing well Oli.. thinking of you

Fantastic news, Margo! You must be so relieved.

DD2 sat up by herself today. Yay! She's only rolled from back to front once (and ended up on her face in the sand, which probably explains why she hasn't done it again), so I was incredibly proud today when she hauled herself up and sat wobbling for a good minute or so. She's been at it all day now and is much more confident.

I don't know about your babies, but DD2 has the fattest thighs I've ever seen. You could grow tatties in the dimples on her knees. Such a difference from her skinny big sister.

Indith · 30/05/2007 22:25

Ooh fab Margo you must be very pleased!

I just got home from going out for curry. Muchly yum. No Guides, Brownies or Rainbows because of half term so all us leaders went out. They of course have now gone out properly but I thought it would be a bit mean to make dp stay home after finishing his degree today
Ds though has been a star, I'm so pleased. I was worried he would be a pain since he is so used to his bedtime but he lay next to me through the entire meal and just gazed around and grinned and gurgled then after I'd finished eating asked for a hug and went to sleep.

He has now had a nappy change, feed and gone to bed like an angel (will tonight be a good night? had 2 bad in a row so due a good one!). Of course if dp comes in pissed he may well make enough noise to wake him....

Indith · 30/05/2007 22:26

Aw BP that is so cool!

Cocobabe · 31/05/2007 16:59

hiya ...wheres everyone today ?

Had a good night - 10.30pm to 3.45am feed/resettled at 4.30am then eake for day at 8.30am ds had his 3rd jab today ( was put off for a while as he had bronchiolits ) and was very brave and cried alittle .

fab news Margo on house offer - hope it goes well this time x

Have been thinking about our forthcoming long car journeys this mth ( to newcastle & devon)and am wondering whether a car seat activity toy (with mirror) is any good ? do any of you have one and do they like it ?

LittleMissLate · 31/05/2007 17:11

I'm here! just logged on quickly before dd's tea. Weather has been better than expected here (South East) so have been out for a long walk with dd in the pushchair. I'm ready for a sleep now!
