Morning all - new thread as the old one's about to hit the 1000 posts limit.

Not so great this morning - feel like an egg-bound chicken IYSWIM. Grrr - especially as I managed to avoid it all the way through pregnancy. And not sure if there's anything I can take for it while I'm feeding?

TheBlonde - Phil and Teds technical question (BTW it did arrive):

If I put the baby bit down at the back (i.e. tranform the integral seat into a newborn cot type thingy)....then I clip the additional double seat on the front - what age child will the front clip on seat accomodate? I have put DD into it (she's 3.10) and her head kind of dissappears into the roof of the hood.

Rosylily · 11/05/2007 22:26

Hahahaha Fox and Sazzy that is very funny

sazzybee · 11/05/2007 22:27

Don't worry about it foxy - you're not the first person to take the piss out of his name and you won't be the last! I should have posted that earlier - only just occurred to me that you might be embarrassed! It's a family tradition - they all have unusual first names to save having to mention the last name

His mummy is my younger sister and no they didn't have any more sadly - they've been having fertility treatment with no success but have decided to stop recently. Luckily Cosmo's a lovely boy and I'm lucky because she's being brilliantly supportive to me with Elliot

TheBlonde · 11/05/2007 22:30

Fox - not sure of the max weight I think it says on the box, DS is tall for his age and I have to cram him under the hood

I think there may be a way to drop the seat a bit lower, kiddicare have a home shopping style demo video

foxcub · 11/05/2007 22:36

Thanx theBlonde _ DD loves it and insists its comfy. If I put the hood down she can't see out LOL! her lelook really long and dangly so it looks like a headless daddy long legs when she's in it. Our babies will be able to sit in one of the seats properley in a few months anyway...(it is far too atrractive for me to send it back)

sazzy - you look too young to be her older sis!!! Wow!!

Can you give her my love - we were quite chummy when she was in Putney! If you tell her I knwo her from Val Orrows class and live in Richmond she'll make the connexion. She did tell me about the fertility treatment, but that was some time back. How is Cosmo? He was really cute when I knew him I actually liked his name but thought she should have used a double barrell version (inserting Bailey) - as it would have sounded vere so Chelsea eccentric.

foxcub · 11/05/2007 22:37

typos

sazzybee · 11/05/2007 22:43

I'll tell her - I'm sure she'll remember. How funny

I'm only 18 months older than she is so not a lot in it really although thanks for the compliment (that is a particularly flattering photo though I have to say!). She's wearing very well though - looks about 30

kiwibella · 12/05/2007 07:30

wow... that's so funny Fox and Sazzy. I wonder if there are any more connections on here!!

Reading about the "feck off" experiences - my friend travelled home with her kiddies last year and was asked to quieten Little Miss Two Year old who was very unsettled. She offered that smart ars$e a turn to try.

Kate slept until about 6:30 from 5pm last night. She was up for an hour at about half 10 so we got to watch Johnathon Ross in bed together!!

foxcub · 12/05/2007 10:03

Sazzy - she was always gorgeous

Morning everyone!! [waves]

sun is shining so must actually get dressed so we can go for a walk with our Phil & Teds before it clouds over!!!

Mossie · 12/05/2007 10:16

Morning all,

Diva I hope the new ad's work out for you and you feel a bit better soon.

Sazzy what a horrible woman I think you were quite restrained actually! Although I do know what you mean, if I take Bertie out in the pram and he starts yowling I feel like everyone's watching me...

Having said that I've been quite lucky. Actually, when I go to the supermarket we get mugged by old ladies wanting to have a look at him, whether or not he is bawling!

Can't believe you and foxy know each other

It's a smaller world than you think though, there was a thread on here a couple of months back about what school you went to... I discovered a MNer who I went to school with!

Actually Kiwibella I like your idea, if someone ever does say anything maybe that's what I'll say, tell them to settle him themselves!!

Callie where in Wales are you? My bil and his dw and their little ds (who is nearly three! I remember when he was born!) live in Llandaff, in Cardiff.

Piffle hope your haircut looks good. I never got the pregnancy lustre in the first place! It needs cutting actually but I'm going to dye it first.

Right... hope you all have a good Saturday!

CallieNewMum · 12/05/2007 10:23

Hello, good morning. i've had a lovely morning so far with the baby, despite not having loads of sleep. Jordi woke about 7.30, fed him, and then he was smiley and happy and we played with toys - ok, I shook them at him and blabbered on for ages - changed, only slightly cried at having clothes changed, and has now fallen asleep in his pram. Bless. Oh, he's awake again - so it was a short nap. He's not crying though.

There's an NCT sale on later today so I think I'll try and get to that and see what bargains I can pick up. Enjoy your new pram, Fox. . I went out eventually yesterday - rained all the time. Oh well, better luck today.

CallieNewMum · 12/05/2007 10:25

X-posts Mossy. I live in Cardiff too - come for a cuppa if you ever visit your bil . I actually work in Llandaff. Just out of curiosity, what do they do? See if we've got anymore RL connections...

DollyPopsOut · 12/05/2007 10:26

Sazzy, can't believe that you and Foxy know someone in common in RL! That's very freaky. There are a couple of people on here whom I think I know, but have never had the courage to ask them. No one on this thread though .

I wish I could be surprised by the chilly reception Elliot got when he was crying but I am not. Some people are on another planet and think kids have an on off switch and we can stop them crying instantly. I am brazen now and just do my own thing with both kids. If others don't like it, too bloody bad. I often got looks, comments etc when DD1 was kicking off, but as no one had anything constructive to say to help, i figured I could ignore them.

Feeling a bit low the last couple of days. Very anxious and a bit tearful. Worried as DD2 doesn't smile much and wonder what this means (probably nothing, but am a bit paranoid ATM). I mentioned this to a friend who picked her up and instantly she started beaming. NOw I feel like a miserable cow who can't raise a smile in her own daughter. Have started a thread in behaviour if anyone has any pearls of wisdom.

I must go and give myself a stern talking to. Hope you all have good saturdays and get some rest.

LunarSea · 12/05/2007 10:29

Callie - if your NCT sales are anything like the ones here, you need to be there about an hour before it starts to queue up to get in.

Off to a wedding this afternoon - so have to hope that Toby will keep quiet during the service.

foxcub · 12/05/2007 10:32

ooh I lurve NCT sales !!!!

Dolly - I want to go for a walk with my P&T but don't want to get it dirty!

foxcub · 12/05/2007 10:34

Sorry Callie - I meant you

eidsvold · 12/05/2007 10:50

had a lovely lunch out with the dds today - early mother's day ( tomorrow really) got some nice pjs and a shirt that I Had on layby - dh paid them off for me so I was able to wear my nice shirt to lunch. Unfortunately not the most practical for breast feeding although was able to cover dd3 totally

made my mother some rocky road for her to go with the book I bought her.

two overexcited dds in bed now - too excited about going to see grandma tomorrow as well as my brother and sister in law.

eidsvold · 12/05/2007 10:52

pjs are fab - so comfy.

foxcub · 12/05/2007 11:16

Sounds like a lovely day Eids! What is the weather like there atm?

You get up to some fab things you know - I am impressed how active you are (says she who is not even dressed yet )

Have you got any pics from today?

eidsvold · 12/05/2007 11:19

no no pics from today but will get some tomorrow - especially as we have no full family ones - usually dh and the girls or me and the girls or just the girls.

been quite warm for May - mid to high 20's. But very windy this afternoon with the odd rain shower - we need much heavier more consistent rain - so no complaints about that.

Surprisingly dd1 was not looking like being good today - sometimes she gets overwhelmed when there are lots of people around - like at the restuarant - but she sat so nicely and ate her lunch really well - she did say goodbye to everyone we passed on the way out most people said goodbye back to her although one woman looked at her like she was a freak and mere dog poo on her shoe BUT dd1 just kept smiling and saying goodbye. i wanted to ram her with the pram.

foxcub · 12/05/2007 11:32

Eids, My Mum used to get so fed up with people staring at my brother.

She used to just stick her tongue out at stary cats (my Mum did that is) - as she got to the point where she just wanted to embarass the other person and sticking her tongue out at them just seemed an appropriate response. I have to say I can understand that.

I think its extremely rude to stare actually. Mond you, I often do a double take when I see Downs children/adults as I want to say hello to them as they remind me of my brother.

eidsvold · 12/05/2007 11:37

I find I can tell the people who are looking because they have a personal interest iyswim - family member etc BUT this woman looked at dd1 with such disdain - fgs she is only 4.8yo.

I often do the stare back - meet their eyes with either a blank look or a raised eyebrow as if to say - have you got a problem there.

However the best I have has was a woman who accosted dh and I in a shop when we just had dd1 and said -'I've got one of those at home?!?' we realised one of those meant a child with down syndrome NOT a chicco travel buggy seemed a strange way to put it.

foxcub · 12/05/2007 11:51

!!

divastrop · 12/05/2007 12:10

hello ladies.i was going to say morning but i just realised it isnt anymore.i had a lie in till 8am (Elsie had a feed at 12.30 last night then slept till 6,but i just put her back in the moses basket after her feed)i came downstairs and fell asleep on the sofa till 9.15(dd1 was in the room with us)and i woke up to find ds and dd2 had turned the living room into a bomb site.

i didnt get dressed till 11.30.

i have to have a prozac-free day today then start the new ad's tomorrow.i will have to have a glass of wine whilst watching eurovision as i cant drink with the new ad's(you're allowed to drink in moderation with prozac).Eurovision used to be the highlight of my year, ive only ever missed it twice, the first year i missed it i was out clubbing and my purse got stolen, the second year i was out and nearly got arrested,so now i just refuse to miss it

dolly-sorry you're feeling low,i will check out your thread in a bit.

foxcub · 12/05/2007 14:34

Diva - enjoy your drink tonight - I love watching the E Contest, its so bad its good!!

Would love to hear the full stories about when you missed it those two times!!!

Well I've been faffing around all morning, BFing, sitting on MN and playing with the new P&T buggy. Got dressed about 11.30as well. Just fed the kids and want to go for a walk with the new buggy but its started raining! and its been sunny all morning... - another wasted day.

Now its a toss up as to should I get the hoover out. Or should I lie on my sofa and eat chocolate biscuits....? There is bound to be some naff film on the telly
