Morning all - new thread as the old one's about to hit the 1000 posts limit.

Not so great this morning - feel like an egg-bound chicken IYSWIM. Grrr - especially as I managed to avoid it all the way through pregnancy. And not sure if there's anything I can take for it while I'm feeding?

God mossie I really feel for you. I went through that with Elliot and he has got better but it's knackering isn't it? Hope you manage to agree a strategy with your DH - I got a bit tetchy with my parents at the weekend for saying I should leave E cry. My mum pointed out that if I had other kids I wouldn't be able to cuddle him to sleep 5 times a day. Which is true. Hmmm - I think I will see how my patience goes

Are you putting lansinoh on your nips before and after every feed? That's the only way I've managed to keep extreme pain at bay. My left nipple has a bit chunk out of it after the early weeks of shocking latch but it doesn't hurt really any more.

Thanks for all the info re AF - I don't think it's it then. I pretty much stopped bleeding post-birth but had a last hurrah last night I guess. 6.5 weeks since I had the baby. How exciting that I can keep AF at bay for a few months!

Hope everyone gets some rest today - including me! Waking 2 hours for feeds in the night is not on at nearly 7 weeks

AmieR · 30/04/2007 11:22

hello all, internet been playing up and only can get on in quick bursts, no fun.

quick skim of the posts, sorry you seem to be having a bit of a rough time with bertie and his sleep, I know its very little consolation now, but you know it will get better.

Lunar if you are still up for coffee that would be cool, already doing some hours for work, so will let you know which days are best, that OK?

Doctor has placed me on some tablets and making me do a food diary to see if we can get to the bottom of my hormone problems.. tablets give me an upset tummy

Joseph is doing OK, on saturday he had a monster feedathon, from 6pm-10pm! it was a nightmare, he just couldn't get enough! Upside though, when we put him down to bed at just gone 10, he didn't stir untill 5! not bad.

gonna ask HV when I see her about his feeds as he never really seems satisfied after, anyone have any experience of using SMA '2' milk?

foxcub · 30/04/2007 11:28

Morning...right am goimg back to bed now

is that hungry babies one Amie?
I have heard a lot about constipation on it...

Mossie I feel for you too, it's a bloody wilderness and the first time you do it, it feels like your life is over - my ds1 fed 20 mins out of every hour and screamed for the 40 he wasn't latched on. I seriously thought about harming him and I was a single parent. Thanks god it got better
Basically
Sod the housework, make sure you eat, even if it means Bertie bleats for 5 minutes.
Get dp to make you up some sarnies, a salad, a roll something for you to grab when you need.
Do you want my copy of the Baby Whisperer? I don't adhere to it fully but it is a useful took almost helps you decode your baby and it has helped me (and I'm 3rd time around)
It's yours if you want it. Read it and take the bits you want from it. It's the closest thing to a Haynes manual for babies I've seen

I'm going through a very I'm lucky to have sucha godo baby phase so I'll not harp on
I'll just thank the lords and touch wood.
Shite beter dash dd needs collecting

LunarSea · 30/04/2007 11:39

Piffle - there really is a Haynes Baby Owners Workshop Manual - for "all models, shapes and colours"!

Amie - justlet me know where and when.

hi all

amie-sma white(the hungrier baby milk)caused constipation in my older 3,and i have read on here so many times about it causing constipation.is he on sma gold now or are you bf,i cant remember?

mossie-it sounds like you're having a hard time.i used controlled crying to get ds and dd1 into a routine when they were age 3 and 2,but i wouldnt leave a small baby to cry.not at night,i mean, sometimes i have to ignore Elsie during the day but thats different.

lunar-told you Toby was a genius.
my ds and dd2 didnt roll over till 8 months.i prefer late developers

better go,Elsie wants fed and dd2 is covered in ice cream and chocolate sauce

AmieR · 30/04/2007 12:53

ugh! constipation doesn't sound fun fr a little guy... or gal.

diva, fully on formula now.

Rosylily · 30/04/2007 13:19

Och, it's a lovely day. I went for a walk and I'm so glad, walked to collect dd, it's so sunny with a cool breeze and did us all the world of good.

Yeah Lunar Toby is a very advanced little chappy.

Piffle I keep trying to give people my baby whisperer too! I'm in a huff with it for calling me an accidental parent (even though I am in every sense ) Mossy has it already though.

kiwibella · 30/04/2007 13:56

accidental parent Rosy - accidentally became a parent or finding your way through by accident? It's not a flattering title either way.

Piffle - hope u got there in time!

fox - enjoy the rest!!

A walk in the sunshine sounds like a perfect remedy, Rosy. Deffo think we'll wander down to collect MissE this afternoon.

My copy of Paul McKenna arrived change of life - here I come . Just wish I could find the cd player power cord . We hardly use it since we got an ipod (ok, never since I don't have the cord).

foxcub · 30/04/2007 14:09

Hi everyone

Monti won't let me on the computer

Think DH is correct, I "spoil" him

will catch up later and hopefully get to read your thread Mossy [big hugs]

kittyhas6 · 30/04/2007 15:08

Hello all, sorry too tired and short of time to reply to individual posts, so GROUP HUG XXXXXX.

I'm with you all on the moany baby, who doesn't stop feeding front. I think Ronnie feds every 1 1/2 hours at night Dd2 woke as well last night claiming that there was a dragon on her bed .
Ronnie seems to to have abandoned any little routine he was working on, ah well. He sleeps best now sleeping bolt upright in his little chair!

divastrop · 30/04/2007 16:29

kitty-at least there wasnt a pirate on her bed

im trying to get Elsie back into feeding every 3 hours as she's ben faffing about, having about 9 feeds a day in bits and pieces.how people managed to feed thier babies every 4 hours in the olden days i'll never know.

kiwibella-im putting the reading of that book on hold for a bit.i had my mirena coil swapped for a normal one this morning so im waiting till the nasty hormones leave my system and i feel better then i will read it properly.

i will still listen to the cd in between corrie episodes tonight though,as i do feel more positve since i started using it,just in subtle ways

LunarSea · 30/04/2007 16:32

dva/rosy - as I won't be having any more I'd kind of like him to stay a baby for a while. Looks like he has other ideas though.

Booked ds1's birthday party yesterday - a den building party at our local country park! How much fun will that be for five and six year old boys? Makes a change from the usual soft play or entertainer options anyway. Quite reasonable too as parties go - £65 for 20 children, including organised and supervised activity plus hire of a nice room to do food in afterwards.

Piffle · 30/04/2007 17:10

Lunar know what you mean
Finn is developing way too fast for my liking
When he smiles now he makes a little giggling sound- the weight bearing is freaky though, he is so heavy, mind you he ahs the thighs for it I must admit
v v v v v v cute

Mossy how are you feeling now?

Mossie · 30/04/2007 17:46

Just a quick post, will reply properly later or tomorrow but Bertie is quiet so taking the time to have a rest!

Went to mil's - she has such a way with babies and managed to get him to nap for a whole three hours, I couldn't sleep but sat in the sun reading the papers, mil made me bacon butties for dinner, then she came over here and had a chat with dh about how she gets Bertie to sleep...

Love to you all and will write properly soon XXX

kiwibella · 30/04/2007 17:53

bless, Mossie - glad you got some respite. Sunshine is a wonderful thing .

Diva... looks like u will be listening to the cd and I'll read the book!! Glad it's helping I haven't got back to it since reading the intro this morning. It actually felt strange to be reading something again .

Piffle · 30/04/2007 17:55

3 cheers for mossies MIL
hope you feel better xx

LunarSea · 30/04/2007 18:12

Mossie - your MIL sounds lovely.

OP posts:
AmieR · 30/04/2007 18:42

Mossie - I'm happy for you, Your MIL sounds the bees knees ours is having Joseph over night in friday! her idea... to see how it goes... I personally think she's mad, but... we'll see how it goes!

Lunar - can I come to your son's party! sounds awesome! where is that at?

LunarSea · 30/04/2007 18:50

Amie - it's at Ryton Pools. I bet we get loads of ex boy scout dads offering to help!

OP posts:
TheBlonde · 30/04/2007 19:02

Mossie - glad to hear about your MIL

Mine has been helpful today - she picked up DS from nursery and has done his bedtime story
She did dress DD in some ancient towelling babygro earlier but I'll let that slide

So what excitement has everyone got planned for the bank holiday weekend?

sazzybee · 30/04/2007 19:36

piffle I've only just looked at your pics - what gorgeous children! You lucky woman

Elliot is (whisper) asleep. It only took me 20 mins too! Could he finally be learning to do things the baby whisperer way? Or did I frighten him by reading SWMNBN's book the other day?

Mossie - so glad you have had a good day. Your MIL sounds ace - sometimes a bacon buttie is the route to nirvana I find

Lunar - I want to come to your DS's party! It sounds really great. I loved making dens when I was a kid. I think I'd still like it now - I suspect it's why I like camping

DollyPopsOut · 30/04/2007 20:17

Mossy, your MIL sounds lovely - can we do a swap ?

Hope you are all well. DD1's birthday party on Sat was a riot. We were kicking the parents out at 7.30pn as I was shattered. DD2 in top form, held by all the men as well as all the women, and generally very mellow. Feel a bit bad that I don't spend the time playing with her like I did with DD1 but I suppose that's second child syndrome all over.

Diva, how are the neighbours?

{iffle, how are you feeling now?

THeblonde, how is your boob?

Hello to everyone else. Sorry not to reply to you all but am very knackered today and my pelvis hurts. I walked a long way yest and today, and my old bones are feeling the strain.

Love to all XXXXX

Rosylily · 30/04/2007 20:30

happy birthday laidback
