Yay new thread

2boysmacca · 20/04/2007 21:53

Thinking of something witty to write.....

Jelley · 20/04/2007 21:53

sorry
I forgot you asked.

2boysmacca · 20/04/2007 21:55

missed that sarcasm. If I'd have realised the title was thought up by csws, I'd have slated it

PhoenixGirl · 20/04/2007 21:56

Well csws you're sooooooo good at coming up with titles yourself we all thought we'd leave you to it

Flamesparrow · 20/04/2007 22:00

It was a pleasure to help you in such a way... let you flex your brain a bit

CantSleepWontSleep · 20/04/2007 22:00

You're such a creep pg.

OP posts:
2boysmacca · 20/04/2007 22:01

Think I might hit the sack, I'm not convinced ds2 is going to sleep through tonight....

2boysmacca · 20/04/2007 22:02

Ew, those nails are rather bitten. I think you need a manicure...ohh and blisters on those fingers too yuk!

2boysmacca · 20/04/2007 22:05

Flame, i hope you've mailed the woman from Eve!!! Would be very good publicity for your business

Flamesparrow · 20/04/2007 22:07

What woman from eve where??

mustrunmore · 21/04/2007 07:40

Morning. Here you all are!!
Bad bad night; went to bed 7.30, told dh to wake me at 8.05pm to do a run, but he didnt (although swears he did and I said I was tooo comfy to get up...). Ds1 woke twice, ds2 woke twice, I got up 3 times for a wee, and then there was a helicopter with search lights and flashig things for about 40 mins around 2am . And I've got such an aching back, which jusy shouldnt be possible with my lovely mattress

csws; dh is allergic to wasps too.Remember last year when he got stung 3 times at the bus stop at 6am? Do you carry a shot with you?

CantSleepWontSleep · 21/04/2007 07:55

No, no shot. Used to take antihistamines all the time for my hayfever, which tended to mean I didn't react so much, but haven't taken them for a few years now due to ttc/pg/bf. Hopefully won't get stung, or if I do my reaction will be mild.

Amazingly we were up at 6:20 even after dd not going back to bed til so late. Think she'll be napping lots today!

too girly? (Parma violets colours)

Chloe55 · 21/04/2007 09:37

You just like anything that looks remotely piratey don't you Flame!

CSWS - my mum suffers from wasp allergies (and mussels but that's another story) I can't seem to convince her to get a pen either but after being on a first aid course recently then I really suggest that you mention it to your doc.

I love the pics of you in that tortoise shell thing Macca - and loving the hairstyle, that's how I wanted mine when I first had it cut but it didn't quite look like that

Oh forgot to say on the other thread PG - I got your text, thank you.

Flamesparrow · 21/04/2007 09:38

Can you get any sleep today MRM?

Chloe55 · 21/04/2007 09:38

Did I tell you I dyed my hair bright red? I did a couple of weeks ago so I may well have done.

Flamesparrow · 21/04/2007 09:39

Even DH likes the pirate outfit... he wants us to save it for tomorrow when his mates come round!!

Flamesparrow · 21/04/2007 09:40

A pen does sound more sensible... you have a little girl who needs you (and a postnatal group who'd have to start their own bloody threads ).

If you mentioned your hair Chloe then I missed it!! Photos?!?!?!

Chloe55 · 21/04/2007 09:48

hair

You can't really see the colour properly as the light is crap - it actually looks quite brown in the pic

Flamesparrow · 21/04/2007 11:08

You're right... it does look brown

Just filled in an equirey form about doing the London Baby Show . I don't know how much it would cost etc, but I figured there was no harm in getting numbers.

Chloe55 · 21/04/2007 11:18

It's not, I promise!

I am so and . I work wed/thur/fri and ds goes to nursery on wed&fri - friend of mine has him FOC on thurs. Anyway, the condition of me taking my job was that we wouldn't drop any money, which with friend having him thurs we haven't done.

However, friend is now moving to Ibiza (it was always on the cards but didn't think this soon) so we have put ds in nursery on thurs too - starting in a couple of weeks. Dh and I agreed that moeny would be tight now and it was a shame the cosy arrangement hadn't worked out but at the end of the day said friend must do what's right for her so I hold absolutely no grudges - she gave me 5 weeks notice.

Anyway, today we have received the nursery invoice and obviously it has added about £125 to our monthly bill with the extra day. Well, dh just flipped his lid, said we can't afford it and that I was stupid for taking my job when I hadn't organised fixed childcare. I explained that we both knew and accepted the risks of having a friend look after ds and that it was good whilst it lasted. I also explained that when he passes his exams and is qualified the extra money would cover this (we are still about 10mths off this point though)

Basically my wage covers chilcare now with little left over. He is getting arsey saying I may aswell stay at home and what's the point and it's all my fault. I am so pissed off. I love my job (for the first time in about 6 years!!!!) I have no intention on quitting, ds loves nursery and if it means us tightening the purse strings then so be it.

He is going to Glastonbury this year, he has been on 2 stag dos and I have said a few times that I am more than prepared to sacrifice a short break he was planning on taking us on (because he feels guilty about all his trips away) knowing we are short of cash.

GGGGGRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sorry for the long rant I am just so mad that he is making out that this is my fault and yet again that my job is of no fucking importance.

Flamesparrow · 21/04/2007 11:23

NO! If you are not losing money by working, and it clearly makes you happy then you work!!!!

Your little man is obv happy (or you would be posting on here all concerned).

If you wouldn't be gaining anything by being home then you fight for your job.

ChasingSquirrels · 21/04/2007 11:47

what about brio type train stuff (the lifting bridge at tesco is great, or the ELC station). Obviously only works if he already has some of the track and is into it.
little cars have been a great hit here.
games - ELC hedgehog one is nice, orchard toys do some good ones, ds1 had a train jigsaw one.
Duplo

spend all day out yesterday, got home, put the kids to bed and went to bed myself. dh got up with them this morning so am feeling somewhat refreshed now. even painted my toenails

CantSleepWontSleep · 21/04/2007 12:56

at your dh for you Chloe. Remind me what he's studying for? Was it accountancy? Didn't you say when you took that job that in time your salary would rise - has he forgotten this?

Well I got the present this morning from toys r us. Wanted to get some superhero dressing up stuff, but they only had the bigger sizes, so got him a tonka fire engine in the end. It makes cool sounds and has a lifting ladder .

Bought dd a trampoline whilst we were there, as she loves them. dh moaned last night that I was buying her too much stuff (I haven't bought much at all), but I've just got some money from selling my old drysuit, so that will cover it.

We then went to the optician for the first time in 3 years, and were there 1 3/4 hours, as the guy sorting out the glasses was so f'ing slow . He was the manager, but didn't seem to know how to use the computer or get the right codes. I have no idea how it managed to take so long. Meant we didn't have time for anything else, as dd was completely knackered, so will have to go out again later to finish off errands. Glasses are so bloody expensive - got 2 pairs each, saved £80 with a voucher, plus 10% off everything as I have their loyalty card, and it still cost over £800 . Funny that dh doesn't bat an eyelid at spending this, when the trampolines he was objecting to for dd started at £15!!!
