Carolann8584 · 12/10/2017 10:23

DD did so so last night was asleep by 6:45 Grin DF at 11:30 had 4.5oz Grin but then she woke at 3:50 til 5:10 I only gave her water as it's becoming a regular occurrence this 4am wake up. She did sleep until 6:45 had 3oz at 7: followed by porridge at 8:30 so a little progress made I think Wink

Blondeshavemorefun · 12/10/2017 11:11

purpleviolet1 · 12/10/2017 11:37

Flowers name.

I’m just giving finger foods for the first time. I’m always a bit late cottoning in to everything lol

I don’t think it’s that Blondes, our house is super warm as it’s a new build. He wears a long sleeved vest with 2.5tog sleeping bag anyway.

He was doing 5am for a while which was fine and a genuine hunger wake up I think. Before this he was waking anytime between 1-5am once. Last two nights he has woken twice between 1-3 and then at 5ish.

How should I proceed? Don’t want him to start taking his milk during night instead now

Thanks everyone.

Now I feel terrible for getting annoyed with DS earlier Blush It doesn't happen very often but when I get annoyed, it doesn't last long and then I feel so guilty! I've realised that he's been teething, i didn't think it was so bad yesterday but he's had trouble feeding this morning and when I tried putting him down for his nap he was crying and I saw a huge top tooth which has finally broken through the gum Shock That must explain the bad night, short nap and generally grumpiness (DOH). Seems obvious now but it's so hard to think when sleep deprived! Anyway I gave him everything, ibuprofen, granules, teething ring, gel, lots of cuddles and finally managed to give him a decent feed and down for a nap. PHEW. Lunch time for me! I don't drink tea or coffee but I'm in desperate need of my Diet Coke!

Hope you're all having a better day.

purpleviolet1 · 12/10/2017 12:34

Aww namechange looks like your ds is just struggling with the teeth as so many comin at once! Poor soul but hopefully you’ll get a bit of a break soon..

I check ds mouth but no sign even though he has had rosy cheeks on and off, gnaws at everything like mad and generally seems uncomfortable from time to time

OP posts:
purpleviolet1 · 12/10/2017 12:37

And don’t worry about getting annoyed, we know it wouldn’t have been for long! We all feel frustrated from time to time. Just part of the package.

Ds did a massive poonami it was stinking and I was gipping Shock it was up his back and everything, had to tactfully remove vest , wipe and put him in the bath. I get paranoid about cleaning him properly. Then had to wipe down changing mat use Air freshener open window etc. The joys! He last went 4 days ago. Apparently neocate milk has little waste so it’s just really the solids. Are your LO’s all daily?

purpleviolet1 · 12/10/2017 12:37

Sorry me again, should the finger food veg be so soft that they can break a bit off whilst chewing it?

OP posts:
Blondeshavemorefun · 12/10/2017 13:41

We poo after every meal and maybe extra one before breakie /evening so always 3 sometimes 5 a day

Food soft so can chew but not too soft that it Falls apart when held

purpleviolet1 · 12/10/2017 13:57

Wow what a difference

Thanks again for your support Smile
DS is the same, only poos every few days and it's usually a poonami! I feel you... last time I had to give him an emergency bath. Sometimes wipes just won't cut it and you have to hose 'em down Grin

100yearsdotcom · 12/10/2017 15:43

Hose em down Grin yup!

Sleep deprivation is toxic, it genuinely can bring you to your knees and you shouldn't feel bad about how you feel as it's totally natural and not something that you would act on. We know you love ds and just needed to vent cos this is really bloody hard. Have some more Cake but I'll hold onto the gin as it'll only affect your deep sleep not because I need a swig, not at all! Grin

NameChange30 · 12/10/2017 16:05

LOL! Thanks 100 Smile

OP posts:
Blondeshavemorefun · 12/10/2017 20:49

Oh no @hugh. Yes bf if she will take it to keep fluids up

NameChange30 · 12/10/2017 21:02

Hugh
You poor things Flowers
My friends had a sicky baby and they said she was sick all over her cot a few times, they had a couple of tricks:

  • If you have two mattress protectors you could make up the cot with two layers so if the top sheet and mattress protector get wet/dirty, you can just strip them off and you have the fresh ones underneath ready to go.
  • If you have a travel cot you could set it up and put the baby in there if she's sick.
No other advice except hang on in there. Makes sense to keep breastfeeding to keep her hydrated if possible. Are you checking her temperature? Hang on in there!
NameChange30 · 12/10/2017 21:07

Sorry your DS was sick earlier too. I have no advice I'm afraid - as you know I haven't exactly cracked it Grin But do you think he's had enough food/milk today? If he is a bit poorly and/or likely to be hungry he might need a feed in the night??

Carolann8584 · 12/10/2017 21:28

purple she picked a toy car with ears and light up face lol. She didn't want the doll Smile

She's a little congested tonight so after a 10 minute cry/moan/cuddle she's back asleep. Just put a bowl of hot water with vapour oil in her room.
