Hi all,

Em am very [shocked] aswell, dh shud complain again and if they dont do anything about it get him to say he will take it further!!!

Yes we do have quiet a strict routine but more relaxed at the weekend, works well for me,jasmine and the cm.

My sis just had her 3rd baby today a little girl not sure of the weight yet her name is kiera

Rumpel · 24/05/2007 21:17

Hi All - lots to catch up on.

Amber is now into blowing raspberries in a BIG way When I say she says hello - it is a teletubbies eh oh - but I know what she means

We went swimming today and she was all smiles - she loves the water. The chlorine made her skin very red though - she has wee touches of eczema on her torso.

Emily - am at the comment said to your DP too - ingnorant uneducated person who said that, especially hate the c word too - very derogatory. Try taking some agnus castus to regulate your periods. You can get capsules but I prefer tincture (liquid) you just add it to your juice. Sounds like you need to give yourself and Dp some time and space before you think of TTC again - if you dont mind me saying. You have had a lot to deal with lately and raging pg hormones would just add to the stress. You will be able to carry another baby though - I had a missed miscarriage a couple of months before I fell pg with Amber. Give yourself a break though and relax - enjoy life and your LO. xx

Gingeme - how are your Scots boys? School hols up here before you know it. Are they coming to you over summer, are you coming up?

Amber hates being on her tum, pushes herself back onto her back. No crawling or rolling onto tum here. Bought her a door bouncy and she loves it - so funny watching her in it.

Think I have decided on Aerosmith Pink for graduation dance - am covered in bruises from Monday.

Really need to get below this weight plateau I seem to have hit just now.

Re rumpy pumpy - just as well we had plenty in our youth cos we have only had sex twice in 16 months!! Too ill during pg and not too great for long while after either. Last night cos we made an effort and once when we were on holiday. We need to more though cos the less you have the less you want. I had stitches and it is a bit chaffy where the stitches are! TMI maybe. Still my kegals must have worked cos I am amazed a baby fitted out of there now!

On that note goodnight all.

glad your son is on the mend Taffy.

We do stick to a routine with DS though not really really strictly. I think as we found we needed a routine for DD he just slotted into that.

Emily I cannot believe someone said that to your DH. That is dreadful. And I think in most companies a complaint like that would be taken VERY seriously. I know you want another baby, but remember our babies are still very young and so are you (I am very jealous having hit 33) so you have plenty of time until you are both feeling ready for the next one. Of course no reason you wouldn't be able to carry another baby. If you remember my story, I managed to carry all 9lbs 1oz of DS, after a very traumatic time, with no problems. Some pregnancies just aren't meant to be. And good luck in setting up your business by the way.

wuzzlefraggle · 25/05/2007 10:51

Rumple, I love Pink by Aerosmith. beautiful song. in fact, i just love aerosmith, full stop. And Steve tyler is yummy, i dont care what anyone says lol

oh well...re routines, im still winging it. i dont find it difficult and anna seems happy with it at the mo...i'll probably start trying to make one in the next month or so...she seems to regulate herself to be honesta. it's little things that i dont routine...like this morning she slept till 10...there was no way was i going to wake her up just because shes normally up at 8:30

gingeme · 25/05/2007 10:59

Good morning all. My scots boys are just fine thnks Rumple
Im off to my parents for the half term today so if I dont catch up on my Dads pc during the week Ill try when I come back.Have a nice week all.

wuzzlefraggle · 25/05/2007 12:05

by gingeme - have a nice time! x

Swizzler · 25/05/2007 19:29

Hope everyone is doing well. Em: my periods also all over the place, came back at 4 months (grr) despite bf. Would echo what Rumpel says about you having plenty of time if you're thinking about another baby. I'm 32 and not rushing to plan no. 2. Then again, in London I'm def on the young side for having a baby as most fo the mums I know are in their late 30s.

Ds asleep and for the first time in ages didn't take a while to go off after his bath. We have a vague routine, based around mealtimes, but I ouldn't wake him up if he decided to sleep a bit later (I wish!).

Swizzler · 25/05/2007 19:39

Re movement, W bounces and rocks back and forward but doesn;t get anywhere! Today starting flinging himself forward from sitting and bashed his face . Soft toys from now on till he stops this - or perhaps I should just get used to it. He had a little lump on his forehead - cue Bad Mummy guilt - but it seems to have gone down. My parents are coming down tomorrow so am worried mum might be shocked at the lack of care for her preciosu grandson. I'm assuming a bit of concealer on any bruises is goign a bit far

marthahm · 27/05/2007 19:36

hope is moving everywhere now. wish we had managed to buy the stairgate this weekend. found her just before she pulled the wine rack down on herself this morning before breakfast.
swizz-you can make the plum baby food last longer if you add stuff to it- most easily acceptabe is baby rice, otherwise potato-v finely mushed up or quinoi-no success with h. but my friend's baby will eat it like that. also add sweet potato to the sweet potato one.

Mellin · 28/05/2007 08:20

Hi all,

Advice pleaseeeeee...... on highchairs. Am trying to decide on what highchair to get for dd. Does anyone have a good one, or more importantly one they hate (so I don't get that one ). I think I need one with a tray because we have a round table so no tray would be very messy!

Very impressed to hear of all these mobile babies! DD sounds like a lump, shows absolutely no interest in moving anywhere. Hasn't even managed a roll yet, although sitting on her own quite comfortably.

Swizzler · 28/05/2007 08:22

Mellin: we got a cheap folding one from Mothercare as short on space. Not great for cleaning though. There's some reviews of highchairs on here (link to product reviews from home page). DS loves his, esp banging on the tray with spoons/toys/anything that makes a loud noise.

EmilyandLola · 28/05/2007 10:25

Lola has got a terrible cold and neither of us had any sleep last night, I gave her calpol at 6.45 am this morning, but is there any thing else I can do to make her happier? I am already using OlbasOil in water etc, just feel so helpless!

Is everyone ok? DP is working and Im so lonely

EmilyandLola · 28/05/2007 10:26

r.e. the high chair, its the East Coast one they sell in Mothercare and in JohnLewis, (would recomend the later)

Great high chair, easy to clean, folds very small for a wooden high chair, Lola loves it...

samsmam · 28/05/2007 11:12

Hi Em, When LO had her cold- we used Medised. It has and antihistamine to ease congestion and also makes them drowsy.
If LO has a temperature you can give Calpol and Ibuprofen together (Calprofen). Ibuprofen only 3 times a day though. But NOT Medised and Calpol together.
Also we put two catolgues each side at the head end of her cot so that it tilted that way all the snotty stuff drained downwards.
Knew my pharmacy stuff would come in handy when I wasn't even working

Highchairs- I got the Chicco one from mothercare, it is horrible to clean and is quite bulky but it does lay in three positions, fold and have a big tray and a catch net.

EmilyandLola · 28/05/2007 11:49

o right fab, where can I get medised on bank hol monday

wuzzlefraggle · 28/05/2007 16:53

helloooo, hope everyone is ok. isnt it mad...this time last year we were all pregnant lol

so what are you lot doing for the dad's in fathers day????

marthahm · 28/05/2007 19:50

re highchairs-we got bought a tripp trapp. i love the fact that it is well made and will convert to a chair that will last til she's an adult. but no tray and expensive. my cousin gave me a brill one that attaches to a table with clamps-maybe won't work with round table but it only cost 20-30 quid and it's brilliant, we have it at mil's and she loves it. i bought a 10 quid travel one which is cloth and is meant to be clever and attach to any chair-hah! . not impressed at all but it is v light and tbh just about does the job when desperate. seems uncomfortable too. my other in laws have a great cheapy ikea one with tray that can fold to nothing and seems fab.-about 10 quid i think??
don't worry mellin on the mobility front; hope can crawl but she doesn't speak, has no hair and no teeth! her main use for crawling is to get to things that are dangerous-stairs, sharp objects to eat, plastic bags to suck, plug sockets...

Swizzler · 29/05/2007 09:44

Martha: my Dodgy Theory is that babies prioritise speaking or moving as a way of gettin gwhat they want - DS enjoys shouting at people so think crawling has been relegated for the time being

EmilyandLola · 29/05/2007 10:54

HELP ME

DD has got horrid cold still, had 3 nights of no sleep and constant crying, she wont settle, she has no temperature, just snot (lots of it) and she seems really pissed off, any chance this could be connected to teething rather than having a cold?

Em: try some Calpol - if that helps, prob teeth. Medised also good as helps with congestion but some LOs react badly to it as it has loads of sugar and sweeteners in.

Inthehouse: hello! How's the sleep going?

marthahm · 29/05/2007 20:53

Em-could easily be teeth. Hope does several nights of being foul, snotty and waking lots and then we get a break for a while. worst was a 10 day stretch where we used medised every night. however, could be wrong about it being teeth because H. still has none so not expert.
went into cafe to get my dose of caffeine and to my horror spotted boy in pushchair next to H. with just forming chicken spots all over his face. do not want to have to go through that yet as apparently they can get it again if they have it before one year-anyone else heard this? whisked her outside as soon as had coffee in hand. (does that make me a bad mummy??)

EmilyandLola · 30/05/2007 07:57

Ive been using medised, last night was loads better, she stayed in her cot all night and she seems a bit happier this morning, but its just "mum, mum, mum..." all day!

Re Chicken Pox, Ive had it 3 times, then shingles when I was 17, so... i can tell you its definitely not true what they say you can only have it once!
