I'd moan more but ds2 is having a very off day!

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Wilkie- We haven't yet, and in fact with ds1, it was about ten months before we finally managed! Had sort of become an issue, not sure that's normal though..

I partly don't want to as I feel so bloody fat. . I'm still a good stone more than before pg, and I was a bit overweight then, half a stone according to swimming pool machine. I was a 12 but when I tried some 14's on in per una the other day I had to get a 16. Annie, I'm the same I feel like all the photos are ruined by my moon face. I'm starving all the time though, they say it falls off with breastfeeding, but with me I don't think it does until I stop and I usually feed for quite a while. Sigh. I walk miles too. Maybe it's too much cake and not enough carrot

UD, good that you're feeling less hard on yourself, money giving does not a nice person maketh, oh listen to me, I sound like something out of the 18th century. Going to eat more toast.

JodieG1 · 22/03/2007 10:19

Wilkie - yes I think it's normal to not fancy it after having a baby. After all, you're tired, hormonal and adjustin to life with a new baby so it's not unsurprising I'm breastfeeding and my breasts are just for the baby while I'm feeding, can't stand them being touched in a sexual way right now as it just feels so wrong! Please don't feel guilty about it because you have no reason to.

JodieG1 · 22/03/2007 10:23

Carrot - I wouldn't worry about dieting while breastfeeding, you need some extra calories to make the milk I bet you look lovely and a stone really isn't much to lose at all once you're ready to.

JodieG1 · 22/03/2007 10:24

Pinkcandy - hope your night tonight is better, know how you feel as Ethan has been getting off to sleep late too.

RGee · 22/03/2007 10:28

Morning all. Worse night in ages. DH tried our first dream feed at 11, but then she woke at 2am (feed plus poo), 5am (feed plus projectile vomit - Lizz I thought of you ewhen my hair and shoulder were covered in the stuff), then cried for an hour so had to cuddle her until 6.30. Managed to squeeze in another hour kip after that. She seems chirpy enough this morning though. Might abandon the dream feed idea.

I'm exactly the same weight as pre pregnancy, but that was helped along by not being able to eat for 3 days last week when I was ill. Can just about squeeze my C-section overhang in to my jeans.
Carrotcake - I bought lots of size 16 tops from Per Una a couple of weeks ago. I blame the boobs - they're not yet down to pre pregnancy size.

Those with C-sections, how are you healing? The last of the scabs fell off this week, but am still slightly numb above the scar.

UD - glad you have reached a decision. You sound much chirpier.

PCF and Jodie - just seen your cute piccies on your profiles . Love the one in the snow Jodie.

Is your first period post baby really heavy? I think I ovulated this week so mine can't be too far away, and need to stock up on mooncups .

carrotcake · 22/03/2007 10:39

Thanks, Jodie and Rgee. Suppose the boobs might be some of the weight, I was a B when I met Jon, have slowly got bigger with each child, got measured in Marks the other day and was a whopping 36F!! I don't particularly want to diet it would just be nice if even 1/2 a pound had come off in 8 weeks with this constant feeding... I'm only having a glass of wine at the weekends now, have stopped the evening puddings and I've lost diddly squat. Wilkie and EAH, nougat doesn't count

Dragonhart · 22/03/2007 11:14

Laughalot, I bought mine here 2 for £20. Got mine for ds1.

Wilkie, we havn't done the deed yet either. Like carrot cake it took ages before we did it (7 1/1 months). I just cant face doing it when I am bf either. Feel like my body is Ruth's at the mo and it just feels wrong. Prob sounds silly.

When we did do it though, it was the best ever (yes, really!) Then I got preg again. Poor DH!

Lizzzombie · 22/03/2007 11:26

I'm on my 1st period now, and its weird. Have been on since Saturday, sometimes really heavy and other times very light. Definately more heavy than usual though.
& re. the sex thing. I think the last time my DP and I did the deed was about June last year! I felt so shite the whole of my pregnancy we never got round to it, and the couple of times I felt up for it, were the times he rolled in drunk and disorderly...sort of put me off!

ellieandhattie · 22/03/2007 12:03

We havent done the deed since Hattie arrived very nearly but it didnt happen we havent since end of May due to the bleeds. I think it ws a good 6-7 months after Ellie but again think it became an issue and I couldnt face it but once we did it was fine, I think because the last 19 months were either ttc or being pg that hasnt helped (although dh has never moaned about the ttc part!)

Havent had a period yet but thin i ovuated late last week/weekend so should be on the way

trixymalixy · 22/03/2007 12:04

aagh, dragonhart, that's miles cheaper than the £15 mine cost me from blooming marvellous!!!

I did get a bigger one recently for £8 off ebay tho.

We haven't done the deed yet either. DH hasn't expressed any interest in it either which worries me a bit. When I was pregnant i couldn't get enough of it, but he never seemed that keen. Hope it doesn't become an issue as he said he was worried that seeing me giving birth might put him off .

UD - glad you feel a bit more positive this morning.

BTW for those of you who don't want to show off their stretch marks while bfing I got some fab tops from H&M Mama for a tenner

ellieandhattie · 22/03/2007 12:05

oh have done clinic shes 11lb7oz at 11 weeks and did town but couldnt face food shopping as well will try and go later wonder what time dh be home and whether i could go child free?

Muckypup · 22/03/2007 12:18

I got 3 quarters of the way through this thread and then gave up. You lot can talk for England!

UrbanDryad - sorry about your MIL problems. Don't beat yourself up about it too much. I hope she comes round for all of your sakes.

Dragonhart - I breastfeed too but tried the dreamfeed with a bottle of expressed milk so it is possible but very wierd.

DS is unwell. He's got a cold and his nose is all bunged up. No temperature and he's still quite happy when he's awake so it can't be too serious but I was freaked out to find a few spots of blood on the muslin I used to mop him up last night. I only noticed this morning so I'm not sure if it was something he coughed up or a nosebleed. Luckily its the baby clinic today so I can ask the midwife for advice. He's very tired and is on his third nap today already!

I'm receiving child benefit but haven't had my £250 voucher yet. Has anyone else got theirs yet and should I be worried?

LadyTophamHatt · 22/03/2007 13:29

Chat chat chat chat chat chat...thats all you lot ever do

Only skim read the thread but pick up the pre-preg jeans bit and how much sex bit.

I seemed to go down to pre-preg jeans then back up again. One pair I had were fitting really nicely but are now tight.

I was a size 10-12 pre-preg and now I'm a 14 BUT I actually quite like it. My mum is really really skinny and I find it quite unattractive in a woman (I mean look at posh spice.....Ewwwwww)so really don't want to follow in her footsteps.
It feels nice to have a bit more padding
I know I'll loose more because I always do as summer appoaches...I do like my shape ATM though and it wouldn't bother me if the extra weight stayed.

As for nooky, we've managed it a few times and I think my libido has increased since having DS4. Not that we've had loads of it because we're both knackered but it's nice to feel keen for once.

Wilkie, ask you DH to get up to do the night feed for a few weeks and then ask how keen he is....

JodieG1 · 22/03/2007 14:59

I just had a red rose delivered from dh with a card saying "thinking of you xxx", how lovely is that? Really cheered me up with him being away

Shimmer · 22/03/2007 15:21

Hi all. Well EAH you'll be pleased to know the 2nd night of hungry baby milk went really well so i'm pretty much sold on the stuff now Freddie went to sleep at about 7:30 as usual and i did a dream feed with the HBM at 10:30 and then i didn't feed him again til 6am!! It wasn't a completely smooth ride... he did wake up at about half 4 as usual, not actually crying but grunting and snuffleing around and throwing him arms and legs around. However I gave him his dummy and wrapped him up again and he just went back to sleep with no milk! He did wake up again at 5 though, but i got him back to sleep and he sort of napped on and off til 6. Horray!

Have been thinking about putting him into his own room though as TBH I probably never would have known he was awake at 4:30, 5 etc. if he hadn't been sleeping right next to us. His little snorting noises and heavy breathing when he's in a very light sleep always wake me up.

Not even going to mention weight and clothes size. Too depressing.

Freddie's 10.5 weeks now and still no sign of a period for me. I know i sounds ridiculous but i kind of wish it would make an appearence, just so i can feel that everything really is "back to normal"

wilkie · 22/03/2007 15:23

Shimmer - no period for me either and J is 10 weeks. Thought it was beginning to arrive last week but nothing else happened apart from some pink staining (sorry if TMI). I want mine back too just so I know everything has returned to normal (and it will give me an excuse not to have sex!!!)

ellieandhattie · 22/03/2007 15:30

hello been food shopping and as I predicted Ellie threw an almighty paddy as she is tired thre plastic fire engine that hit Hattie directly on her head poor Hattie gave up and bought the essentials and came home. Should have given it a miss knew Ellie had been to well behaved this morning.

Going to my posh hairdressers (the one wher i went pre children!) tomorrow (xmas present from my auntie normally I go to the training school as it's so much cheaper) and mil have the dd's so whole morning to myself

Pinkcandy - that's not on is it. I also hate waiting in for people, the hv could have at least called to cancel or say they were running late. You don't have to see them if you don't want to, just call and say you don't wish to have any more visits.

wilkie · 22/03/2007 16:02

PCF - my HV stopped coming when J reached 4 weeks old - I now have to go to clinic. ind you, our drs doesn't do 6 week check up on new mums which I think is crap.

EAH - Oh no tantrum not good!! Is Hattie OK? or does she have an egg on her head??

Had a fab day with my mum, went to Primark again (seriously, I LOVE that shop) and bought a HUGE bag for £6 which will double up as a change bag when I am out and about with Jacob. Think I could actually carry him around in it, it's that big. (tres funky though).

That would really annoy me, I was cross enough when ours phoned at 12.05 (due at 12.00) to say she couldn't make it that day, clearly I'd sat in whereas I could have some something much more exciting, don't know what, but something!

LTH- My mum is really horribly skinny too, I would never want to look like that, it's more not being able to wear any of my clothes still. I bought some tesco 'in between' jeans but it's boring wearing the same stuff and I still have to use my maternity tops. No big deal in the grand scheme of things but when you've actually made an effort to no avail it's bloody annoying.

Even MORE annoying is our freako neighbour putting up shelves just as LO goes to sleep after the school run grrr . I was looking forward to reading a magazine.. He goes to thailand for four months, has just returned and does endless noisy 'jobs' for his mother every time I want to put him up for a nap. Who lives with their mother for 8 months of the year anyway? He must be forty or so. Weirdo. He always looks in our window to wave. I ignore him.

I have said annoying quite a few times in this post. I think I must be, ANNOYED.

wilkie · 22/03/2007 16:43
