May I take the liberty of starting a new thread ladies?

Wallace, Toby is no where near standing, crawling, cruising, pulling himself up etc, and bears none of his stupendous weight on his feet. he will sit if I hold him up, and roll onto his side, but that is it....

Wallace · 04/03/2007 20:27

Thanks Bloss. Must be because they are both big lumps

IamBlossom · 04/03/2007 20:29

Must be. Toby is so long too, he is comfortably fitting into DS1's sleepsuits that he was wearing at 1 year old!

I do have visions of him being a large, amiable, smiling man, with huge feet and hands, letting everyone charge around him while he helps himself to more pudding!

HumphreysCorner · 04/03/2007 20:33

Sophie just doesn't really move at all-she is a lady of leisure Has only rolled the once.

Hi Girls

Wallace ? glad to hear your DH is on the mend, how worrying for you all

HC ? how irritating re the BF. My MIL often used to suggest a bottle to ?take the pressure off me? (meant very kindly, but not really that helpful), till one day I gave her a bottle while she was there and she witnessed the pukefest that ensued.

Pretty ? re your mum and sis, must be very difficult

Mae ? hope tonight is better. How long is MIL staying or has she gone now?

Kayzed ? meant to say what a great pic of you and DS, he?s a lovely looking boy

Bloss ? Toby IS edible, and he looks so happy to be out playing in the big boys swing Hope you have a good week with the two boys.

Ceebee, hope Josh continues to improve and gets his appetite back soon

Kbaby ? DP hates me websurfing in the evenings too, don?t really blame him, but I can?t stop

Twinkle ? good luck for Tuesday

Us ? hope Zack gets his appetite back soon too, sorry to hear your nights have been so bad again ? here?s to a better week ahead!

Emma?s sleeping is still not great, she?s usually up twice for feeds between 11pm and 7am. I?ve kind of got used to it now, she is at least going straight back to sleep after feeding.

Though she?s very alert and active she still can?t move on her own. Good at sitting up but still a complete stranded turtle when on her tummy or back. And sooo weeny, in size 3 nappies and 3-6 month baby gros, her cardies and hoodies are still 0-3 month. I look at clothes in the shops and think ?that will fit her? then realise they are 0-3 month so doesn?t seem much point in buying them!

Re napping, it varies hugely according to whether it?s a nursery day or not. On nursery days she has 2 naps of 30 mins max till she gets home and conks out at about 6pm (usually wakes up through the evening). On days when she is at home she will happily nap for up to 2 hours at a time, 2 or 3 times a day! Going to have to get a proper routine sorted now, it?s all too erratic.

Oh well back to work tomorrow, have a good week all xx

Ceebee74 · 05/03/2007 08:37

Morning all

Hugs to all those with non-sleeping babies - it must be so hard - particularly as everyone tells you that it is meant to be easier by this point!

F@F - Josh is exactly the same re naps - on nursery days he seems to manage on 2 30 minute naps and then conks out on his last bottle at 6.30ish - but on days at home, he has at least 3 naps (sometimes 4), usually 45 minutes long. Too much going on at nursery to sleep methinks

Twinkle - how awful all this must be - you really don't need the hassle do you? Good luck tomorrow. My friend is due back at work next week and whilst she has been off, her job has transferred to another organisation who have refused to honour the agreement she had made with her boss before she went on mat leave about working 3 days a week - obviously she has sorted all her childcare etc out on the basis of this agreement so can't go back until the situation is resolved - it really is amazing what some organisations try to get away with isn't it? (and these are public sector - or maybe they are the worst?)

Thought Josh was getting better but was coughing most of the night and threw up some more porridgy stuff about 10pm last night. Am stuffing him with milk though to try and get some weight on him (5 9oz bottles a day!) He is still in 3-6 month clothes although the trousers are all too short now.

Am - Dh has been put on a project which means he is only going to be home at weekends for the next 2 months - pretty crap really!

Well done there Ceebee-a lovely shiny stone. Still have a stone in my purse from when WW gave them out years ago. Hoping to get it out soon.

kayzed-you have been away. When I go on holiday (which is never at the mo) I have been known to put a stone on in 2 weeks. You will lose it, don't worry. But, looking at your recent pic it doesn't look like you need to lose any.

Back later

Kayzed - I'm still over half a stone more than pre-preg, have to admit I haven't made too much effort to shift it but my appetite has just been HUGE through last 6 months of pregnancy and since. V annoying re the clothes isn't it!

pinkdolly · 05/03/2007 14:27

Grrr! just wrote a long message and then deleted it. Will try and remember what I wrote...

My diet isn't going well wither at the moment. I fell off the wagon when I had 2 3-course meals in 2 days (birthday and valentines) and have been too afraid to weigh myself for a few weeks. Keep having mega cravings for chocolate and giving in am eating far too much.

Is anyone else fed up carting the stage 0 car seats around? I am only short and not v.strong so finding it a real pain in the neck. Have just arrived at the stark realisation that weighing in at only 12lbs 15oz its gonna be a while b4 she's ready for the next stage.

Kayzed- I had the techno classic and really liked it, Jazz wasn't so keen tho. But I never really got on with the buggy board as I always felt like it was under my feet.

gonna leave it at that for a mo and see if i can post without deleting it again.

frenchleave · 05/03/2007 15:06

Afternoon all. Have tried to read all the posts but there are sooo many! Thanks for your kind words girls... I haven't been sulking btw, just busy with my family visiting and Thomas' christening, which was yesterday. It was fab, T was a complete star and didn't cry once all day! We had a fab meal in a posh restaurant afterwards then after a walk along the seafront everyone came back to ours for tea and christening cake. Lovely day

Feeling now as my parents and sister have just left after a 5-day stay

T is finally sitting firmly now but that's all - he's not interested in moving about. He's a big boy too - about 18/19lb - Bloss your image of Toby the kindly pudding-eater made me .

Anyone else got a chubby but not very tall one? At T's last check up he was measured at the same length as at the previous one (66cm) which surprised me. DH and I are tallish and the girls are much taller than average so although there are some short genes in DH's family we aren't used to under-average babies and it has me a bit worried that he's not growing properly

HumphreysCorner · 05/03/2007 15:26

pink-I know what you mean about the first car seat. Have to admit that I put Sophie in the forward facing seat ages ago as I figured it was going to take her a lifetime to reach the required weight of 19lb. She is absolutely fine in it as she sits really well.

french-glad the Christening (or Baptism as our Vicar insists we call it) went well. May 20th for ours is ever looming. Please don't worry about his measurements as babies change from month to month. I looked back at DD1's pics and she was a massive chubster and then once she crawled she went very thin. The change from one month's pic to the next was drastic. I still take pics of Sophie every month on the 27th so I can compare. Sophie was 64.5cm @ 31 weeks. Hope you feel brighter soon.

Better get Sophie up as got to fetch DD1 from nursery then go to mum and dad's for the big weigh in.

Hey all, just a quick one. Hope all is well with all, its been a hectic week. LO is in her own room, house is becoming organised, friends have finally decided I am far enough in my frieving process to risk seeing me again, Lo has had some rought nights so sleep has been sparce! Anyway, back on track, hopefully, fingers crossed
will read up and later today hopefully will post again.
Bye for now

Ceebee74 · 05/03/2007 19:32

French - sounds like you had a lovely day yesterday - although everytime I read about christenings I always feel slightly guilty as I can't be bothered organising one at the moment.

Pink - I stopped carrying Josh in the car seat about 5 months ago - the combined weight was too much for me to carry so I either take the pushchair now or just carry him.

Took Josh to be weighed today - he has lost 8oz and dropped down a centile to the 25th. HV recommended taking him back to the doctors as his cough has got really bad again today, he puked up an entire feed this afternoon and obviously he is losing weight - got an appointment tomorrow afternoon. I honestly feel like I have never been out of the doctors since he was born

Wallace · 05/03/2007 20:17

Did you see this thread about the walking 6 month old - a July baby!

Ceebee74 · 05/03/2007 20:19

I saw that aswell - feel a bit sad for him really as I think babies should be babies for a little bit longer - although a couple of babies on here are cruising already.

HumphreysCorner · 05/03/2007 20:22

Josh hasn't lost too much so try not to worry. Hope the puking stops. Sophie has been sick all yesterday and today-the place and her clothes smell awful. Now she won't stay in one place I can't confine the sick to one place.

Hello Pavlov

Sophie bit me as I was feeding her so I said no, that hurts and her lip trembled and she cried. I felt awful so had to give her a hug.

Hope you are all having a good evening.

IamBlossom · 05/03/2007 20:45

Aw Ceeb that sounds really rough poor you and poor Josh.

Toby could go in a forward facing seat now I suppose, but although he weighs a ton and I have Jeff Capes arms carrying him around in it, I find it quite useful to always have a portable seat to put Toby in when we are out and about, like at friends houses that don't have kids or a high chair, as i can feed him in it too...tough one. Plus, not so much now, but up until recently if we were out, I could pretty much always get him off to sleep by rocking him in it....

frenchleave · 05/03/2007 20:48

HC - Thomas bit me last week too, and when I said NO in my sternest voice he laughed! And so did I, through my pain

My parents explained the difference between baptism and christening to me but I'm afraid I can't remember what it is

Ceebee - we went for the lazy (but expensive ) option of taking everyone to a restaurant so the whole day took two phone calls to organise, it was easy peasy. We were still exhausted last night though

at the 6-month old toddler - what a nightmare! He must have leapfrogged a whole load of milestones. My eldest DD walked just before 10 months and that was bad enough!

Time for bed now, I'm still whacked. Night all.
