Isn't it amazing that there is more than 10 pounds difference between all these babies. Just proves that they cme in all shapes and sizes!

KZ - I think Leo is going to start doing what Roshi is doing, he sort of moves a bit, but hasn't figured out yet that he can do it to move IYSWIM. Don't be worried about Roshi being too heavy, she is gorgeous btw I'm putting on a bit of weight too, but trying to ignore it. I'll deal with it when spring comes!

ceebee - well done on your weight loss!!!!!! Poor Josh, these coughs etc can really knock them back

pinkdolly - I still carry Leo in his seat sometimes, especially if he is asleep. I keep meaning to fish the next one out of the attic (next stage but still rear facing) then I won't have the option of carrying him in the seat so I will save my back.

frenchleave - christening sounds lovely. I know how you feel about your mum and your sis going...do they live far away? Leo must be about 19 or 20 lbs, but I think he is quite tall too. Last time he was measured was his 8 week check up and he was 62cm then. Don't worry about thomas not growing he is probably storing up fat, them will have a growth spurt and become tall and skinny.

HC - I'm going to shout at you for putting Sophie forward facing! Ouch at the bite! Has she got teeth?
Has she got a tummy bug at the moment or is it jjsut normal baby pukiness? Leo was playing with the lid of a quality street tin and was sick in it and played with it spreading it everywhere before I noticed yeurgghhh

Pavlov - I don't think I welcomed you to the group, so welcome Sorry about your mum, that must be so hard.

Leo waved bye to the baby in the mirror today! just a little flap, but I think he meant it. He was also clapping, but didn't know he was doing it - when he's in the bath I say to him "splash splash" and he splashes with his hands, but when he was doing it tonight he was clapping his hands together underwater!

He had an amazing nap today - he fell asleep on the way back from school (about 9:10) and slept in his pram in the garden until 1:40 So unusual for him! I got so much housework done... he also slept a lot better last night - slept from 7 til 10, then I got him back in his cot by half ten and he slept til about 4. Usually wakes up about an hour or less after I put him down, then again after I go to sleep (sorry to hear your ds does this too kbaby!) and he is in our bed from then on.

Sorry I'm rambling tonight!

Wallace- but my back was killing me Yes, she has teeth. It was an ouch moment and is still throbbing now. Lol-she plays with the sick which spreads it further. It smells so bad though. Gave her one of my low fat yoghurts on Saturday that I don't like and she loved it but has sicked ever since. She has yoghurty burps. Do realise I shouldn't be giving her low fat food Bless Leo-our babies are clever. I sit Sophie on my knee and say 'shall we row the boat' and she holds my hands and rocks back and forth to Row, row, row your boat gently down the steam, if you see a crocodile don't forget to scream.

kayzed-those are cute. Sophie is on her 2nd pair of these as she wears them out before she outgrows them. They do them in baby sizes in the store.

My Vicar said that a Christening has never been called that as it is a Baptism named after John The Baptist.

Am amazed at the 6 month old walking. I thought DD1 walking at 14 months was good.

DH playing squash so off for an early night.

See you tomorrow.

Talking of walking - LO took 2 steps this week....held on to mine and DPs fingers and wobbled across to DP, then did a wobbly dance all over the show as she was soooooooooooo pleased with herself . I cried. Partly because I was very very very proud, partly because my mum was not there to see it, and I did not know who to call. She is just absolutely going for it, she stands like she always has, just pulls herself up, hold on to things with one hand and turns around, takes a step on the spot easily now, its all happening rather fast. She also crawls at lightning speed, stairgate is now up!

Does anyone elses LO talk in 'tongues'? LO has this new clicking noise, clicks, snorts, and makes this sort of african maccaw croaking/crowing noise when she is trying to tell us something - she does it when she is doing something, like she wants us to see...

PavlovtheCat · 05/03/2007 21:33

Hey Wallace BTW. Am attempting to catch up on postings, but so many!

PavlovtheCat · 05/03/2007 22:01

aw, there is no-one hear to congratulate my LO on her momentous achievement [sad}

I wish I did, but I was too busy gushing etc, and then realised the battery was dead on camera, always the way eh?

Am feeling a bit down this evening, perhaps I have had too much sleep (almost 4 hours without a break, and then another 2, and then another 2 - thats almost 8 hours!!!). Missing my mum today, cried, probably for the first time, anduntil today I have been quite dis-engaged from it all, today something I think sort of 'went' and now I cant even look at her photos.
I think its LO moving forward so fast and us planning our wedding and life just going along, I have not spoken to her for 5 weeks now. I have never gone that long without talking to her, (even when I was not talking to her when I was 17!).
Sorry, its not really baby talk, just well, needed to say it.
Sorry.

Hey Pavlov

I am here and how fab!!!!

I think dd2 will be slow to stand/crawl and walk.Dd1 was really really slow.Bum shuffled for months and walked at 17 months

Eilidh is doing a kind of screamy thing and lots of dadada's but still such a little baby(awww)

xx

PavlovtheCat · 05/03/2007 22:23

I think 17 months is a good time to be walking, certainly if my MIL is to be taken at her word!

Do you know what she said to us when we called her to tell her?
'DO NOT encourage it. Once she starts properly she will be trouble. I never encouraged you boys to walk, there is plenty of time for that. You want her to stay still as long as possible'.

I did tell DP she would say pretty much that, when he asked if I wanted to call her to let her know (bless him, he did try to do the right thing).

Its just that mum would have gushed like me, said something about her being trouble now, yes but in fun rather than seriously!

PavlovtheCat · 05/03/2007 22:26

Algach - baby sounds are so cute yeah?! Like the little slapping sound of tongue against lips when the finish a mouthful of food, the cooeing before sleep, the breathy he-he-he-he noise when she wants BF!

LOL I guess so, whats my DPs excuse, poor man!

PavlovtheCat · 05/03/2007 22:38

I am off to bed everyone, will catch up properly in next day or two. Here is hoping the night goes smoothly...

Ceebee74 · 06/03/2007 09:05

Morning all

Pavlov - for you - it must be so difficult but hang in there. And a big 'well done' to BabyPav for walking (get the Sun round!)

HC - never mind about the weight loss - if you know you have been good, then it must be inches you have lost.

Wallace - Josh also does the flapping with his hands to say goodbye - particularly cute when I am leaving him at nursery.

KZ - those socks are so cute - seeing things like that really make me want a girl

I play a game with Josh when he has his dummy in that I take it out with my mouth using the hook bit and then he takes it back in his mouth using the sucky bit (iyswim) - yesterday, when it was my turn, I kept saying it's mummys turn and he started pulling it out of his mouth with his hand and putting it in my mouth himself - so cute!!

Anyway, he seems much perkier today so fingers crossed he is on the mend - still going to the doctors though this pm.

Have a good day x

HumphreysCorner · 06/03/2007 10:30

Morning ladies

Pavlov-how exciting seeing those first steps. I missed DD1's first steps as I was at work but at least she did it when my mum had her and not my MIL Hope you feel a little better today. ((xx))

DH and I are off to see Blood Brothers at the Grimsby Auditorium tonight-I wonder who is in it. PIL are coming to babysit so have been bombing around cleaning so hawk eyes doesn't see too much dust. The hoover scared the cat as per usual so he went in the lounge where Sophie was sat. Then I heard a yell and she had moved near to him, obviously prodded him and he has clawed her cheek-poor baby. It was very close to her eye.

Ceebee-hope the Drs visit goes OK.

Must get on and hang some washing out.

Tatty bye

Hey all. Both have streaming colds here, so probably explains the bad nights we've been having. I went to bed when DS did last night (about 7.30 ).

Congrats to babypav, must be hard for you Pavlovthecat, tho, wanting to share this time with your mum . My mum lost her dad when she was 13, and said that she found it hard in adult life going thro big life changes like getting married and having children without him there (even tho I'm sure most people assumed she'd 'got over' it ).

DS is rolling (not all the way over) and wiggling to move himself around. Sits pretty steadily too and will bear a bit of weight on his legs before collapsing. No idea what he weighs, was 19lb just after xmas, my back is killing me so suspect he's heavier now. Also just put him in 9-12 babygros and some of the cheaper ones are already getting snug

thanksa for support everyone, it is hard but most days I am fine, feel better today, after huge barny with DP. I am getting married in sept and mum was going to give me away as dad not around, my brother is doing it, but not the same really. Funny enough people seem to thinkk I should be getting over it now alreay, or thats how it comes across. I guess avoidance is just one of those thing I will just have to get used to. I was given officially 3 days compassion leave from work, extended to two weeks with me being arsey about it. luckily I have a sympathetic doctor

Humphryscorner - poor your LO, one of my cats is a grumpy ol so and so and occasionally swipes at our LO, although does not use claws - yet, and usually just shows his paw and then runs away. He keeps coming back for more tho so cant dislike it that much!!! Good luck on not using drier - it is gorgeous here in Devon, where are you? I am not going to brave the washing line tho, as the floor is a state here, our yard is a dumping ground at the mo and I dont want to chance - a) tripping over, having to navigate the crap b)risk it all blowing off onto the said crap! thats my excuse anyway! Enjoy Blood Brothers

MaeWest - omhg 9-12month clothes! LO is only just in 3-6months and she is 8 months old now!!! She is 'petite' for her age.

Hope all had a good sleep. I shall tell you about mine when DP goes out!

prettymum · 06/03/2007 14:56

hi everyone! internet was down for one whole day yesterday and few hours the night before! me and dp were so lost and realised how much the internet meant to us!

decided to choose madasafish as our exchange can only recieve 7mb and they seem good from all the reviews.

pav- {{{{{{{hugs}}}}}}} you're doing excellent for someone who has had to deal with so much in one go!!

junior is a chunky little thing, but not too tall, he is in 6-12 monhts clothes and looks like i might be having to change sizes soon.

he is taking solids now but only half a jar each meal with milk top ups.
and sleep routine is very good now too, 8-7 with one feed in between and goes straight to sleep

i seem to be getting a heat rash on my face, dont know why its happening, but it itches too!

regarding weight loss- i've had to buy size 10 jeans now as my size 8 jrans dont fit no more!! dp is planning on going part time, so probably will be able to start going gym!!

Kam - oh you poor thing I hope it was not too awful to clean up!

What is e3? Will I like it? Does it look cool? Is it heavy? I have to say I bought a p3 for LO, and I have used it a handful of times, luckily it was second hand! I have mainly carried her in her sling, and as she is so light I can still do it! She lurves it, swings her legs, squeals ans she can see all around, and everyone loves her, which she of course gets great pleasure from (not me, her, I assure you ).

Sleeping. Doing PU/PD, my version of. Going well, so far. I am sceptical. I hate to say things outloud with any real enthusiasm as I often find Murrey comes along and ruins it. I even this second just heard her coughing. Thought I did it within seconds this time!

LO is eating like a Trojan. Todays food:

Breakfast - Hipp-a-bisc (half) with mango puree (1 large ice cube) and about 1.5oz baby milk. Half slice toast/philly (mainly sucked to death, but prob ate about 3rd). 3rd banana - ate (slobbered) about half before dropping on floor to see what happened.

2oz FF, BF.

Snack - Apple Organix Rice Cake - loves them.

Lunch - Two large ice cubes of pureed pea, lots of baby rice (jar slipt) and 2oz baby milk (needed that much to stop it being solid!).
1 Large Ice cube of Apple and Pear, mixed with Baby rice and 0.5oz of baby milk. 1 Runner bean.

BF

Tea - 1 entire pot of home-made pasta with tomato, vegetable and cheese sauce (pot = tommee tippee baby food pot), with a bit of baby milk to thin a little.
1 Large cube pureed cooked dried apricots, plain yoghurt, large dollop, ate half.

BF x 2 before bed

I dont know what has happened but its been like this for about 4-5 days, each day getting more and more hungry (my home cooking maybe?!

PavlovtheCat · 06/03/2007 20:23

Oh I forgot 2 x BF before breakfast!!!

PavlovtheCat · 06/03/2007 20:50

Can I just say, that its not just my LO with a big appetite today. MY Dp is out, I just cooked myself the most enormous junk food dinner of Qurn Escalops x 2 (they just did not look big enough for 1), half plate of chips (dont have a good eye) and 2 thirds tin sgetti .
I am impressed, on an ecomony drive, went to Sainsbury's and tried to budget shopping (not sure thats poss in Sainsbury's but I like the place alright?!!), so I bought some Basics sgetti, and you know it really is not that bad!!! Really! I am being serious. It does need a generous helping of worcestershire sauce tho...
