I know what you mean about overfeeding as Sophie will keep opening her mouth and uh, uh, uh until she is bursting then projectile vomits some out. I try and give her small amounts but sometimes I think she is still hungry yet doesn't want milk. Lol-yes, isn't it just like adult sick-big lumps of carrot and oh, so smelly.

Maewest-have never left DH with any of the girls. He wouldn't know what had hit him if I did!

Have seen my brother tonight and he told us they are off to Barbados for their summer holiday. I am pleased for them but at the same time I feel really and I'm sure my face gave me away. He will think I'm awful and jealous. It is just that in the past few years they have done Florida twice, Spain several times and little breaks in between and we haven't had a holiday since 2002. DH hasn't even taken a summer holiday off work since 2002. Crikey, aren't I horrible.

Ho hum. Byee for now girls.

both children in bed at exactly 20.00 this evening, feeling very relaxed apart from the fact that my living room looks like a bombsite!!

managed to clear out the many empty boxes in one of our cupboard and shoved all dps car parts in there. and his cricket season is sarting up soon so we now have many cricket bits here and there! its driving me crazy!!

hc- hope you have a better sleep tonight, the worst thing is to wake up in the morning with lack of sleep and look after kids as well!

kz- ahhh to your ds, i bet he's missing the fresh air and the attention he was getting from all your family!!

ceebee- dont have any experience of the vomiting with junior as he isnt eating solids properly yet, with dd she used to throw up stright after she'd eaten when she was over fed.

gonna get off americas next top model is on

Well I have had the crappest of crap days I'm afraid. I am far too to give much detaail, but basically, my job evaluation result has come through and apparently my specialist advisory post should in fact be paid at an admin/technical clerk level. In real terms this means around a £5k pay cut! This would put me on less than I started out on 7 years ago. I am absolutely gutted and livid at the same time. We can only just manage as it is. I took the job in good faith believing there to be good prospects and we really struggled to afford a house in the area. And for what? To be crapped on from a high level, that's what.

My God Twinkle-surely they can't do that!?!?! Are you in a Union? I've heard of job titles being altered and downgraded but salaries tend to remain the same.

It's local government. There's an agreement with Unison that's written into my contract that variations to terms and conditions are pre-agreed fgs. I'm not the only who's been hit, but I've been hit worse than anyone else in my section due to a rubbish job description and a fundamental misunderstanding of the job on the part of the people doing the evaluation. I've been there 3 years. Am loathed to just walk away as there is only one other job in the entire country currently advertised and it's so hard to break into something else without taking at least as big a pay cut. My immediate colleagues and managers are being very supportive - everyone is shocked. Pay is protected (but cut in real terms) for two years. If anyone has any suggestions for jobs I could go for which pay at least £20k and won't discriminate against me I'd be very grateful.

Twinklemegan · 26/02/2007 22:04

And KZ, no we've just been through restructuring which has lost us a member of staff (one third of the team) which means I'm taking on higher level work than I do currently.

usandnosleep · 27/02/2007 10:24

Morning all

Beautiful girls HC and KZ, I think you might have to lock them up until they are at least 21

Sorry to hear about your job Twinkle It sounds like they knew they'd have you 'between a rock and a hard place' So unfair of them.

Hope you're week is going well F@F

I have a what I think is a virus and typically Zack has had awful nights waking 3/4/5 times. He's not taking solids very well so is waking for extra milk feeds, Yaawwwwwnnnnnn.

Bloss- I'm sorry to hear you're having problems, DP and I went through a similar patch a few months ago.
We had one massive row and got everything out in the open. It really helped, we had stopped listening to each other.
We gave each other 3 things that we would like the other to do, I asked him to bathe Zack on Fri and Sat eves, stop falling asleep on the sofa (!) and to make an effort one night a week with cooking for me/getting a take-away and a bottle of wine and cuddling up.
He asked me to be more affectionate, help out with the accounts and to let my sis babysit every few weeks so that we could have time alone.
It's obviously much harder for you because you have a toddler too. I hope things improve for you soon x

Will attempt to add a photo!

first taste of chocolate!

How are you today Misty?

Thanks KZ
He was eating really well it's just been the last few days, I'm not sure what is wrong. Ho hum, it's bloomin typical because we have Zack's 8 month check on Friday.

Beadmum · 27/02/2007 14:02

charlotte has just missed out on the 8 month check, hv told me last week they are no longer doing them (only 8 week to be carried out now) she is 8 months in a couple of weeks but hv said they are just doing ones that have already been arranged. Has anyone else been told this? was given the NHS leaflet about it too

Ceebee74 · 27/02/2007 16:14

Afternoon ladies

HC - what a gorgeous little girl Sophie is. And well done to you on the weight loss - you must be chuffed.

Us - Zack is a cutie - and what a classic shot with the choccie round the mouth.

Twinkle - how awful it must be for you - it sounds like they have got you over a barrel and you can't win either way - I remember you saying before that what you do is very specialist so I guess that gives the employer the power knowing it is hard to walk into another job.

I have come to the conclusion that I have been overfeeding Josh - it has been suggested that his stomach has been getting too full and he has probably got reflux so the muscle isn't working properly to stop him being sick - I am trying to space out his bottles and meals and only giving him small amounts to see if it makes a difference.

ignore this photo (although obviously you can look if you want ) - I want to put this photo of Josh on my PC at work and this is much quicker than e-mailing it to myself as my PC at work doesn't have the right software to open it.

Ceebee74 · 27/02/2007 16:16

I ALWAYS forget something!

Beadmum - last time I spoke to my HV was about 6 weeks ago and I was asking her about the 8 month check as they only do them on Wed, Thurs and Fri (which are my working days - typical) so we were discussing what the options were - certainly no mention of them not happening. Although she did say that they do them at 9 months (!) as they find that a lot of 8 month olds aren't doing what they are 'supposed' to so they end up having to re-check them so better just to wait a few more weeks.

Can see why are you disappointed as I am really looking forward to taking Josh for his.

koshka- you must post a pic of your new haircut!

twinklemegan- so sorry about your job- there must be something that can be done???

havent taken junior for check up for a while, will have to take him on thursday to at least find out how much he weighs now!

dd requesting food, better get off before she strats whinging!!

IamBlossom · 27/02/2007 19:49

very very cute pics everyone. Love seeing them.

DH and I are right as rain. A massage, a cuddle, and a bit of how's your father, plus early bed times for the kids have worked a few wonders. Thankfully, despite having some shit times recently, we do actually really love each other and that comes out overall in the end.

DS1 punching me in the throat a couple of times and kicking my knees as I tried to get him in the car for nursery on Monday morning, and me smacking his bottom again had me in tears in Tescos however, but that's life with a toddler I guess!

Had an SOS from BF today, bless her heart, and zoomed round there after toddler group, and while my boys sletp in the car, swaddled her baby, put him down and packer her off to bed. She is soooooo sore trying to breasdfeed, hallucinating through lack of sleep, and generally in the thick of the first week. Thankfully, the midwife has fnally been round this evening and told her she is doing marvellously, so I think she is feeling a bit reassured now.

Twinkle, so sorry about your job what a total arse.

DS1's last morning at nursery tomorrow - pulling him out cos it's too expensive, and he won't go to nursery now till pre-school in September. God help me.

Drinking wine. Hurray.

Bloss

Quick question, What type of food are you all giving now?
Ds is having porridge, veg or casserole for dinner and then a fruit purree for tea. It all seems a bit boring. I don?t know if I should start offering desserts after the meals and maybe give a proper tea instead of fruit. What are your thoughts?

Im trying my best to get DS to say ?mama? by grinning like a lunatic while saying ?mama, mama? DD?s 1st words were ?dad, cat, and oh dear? I mean hello I am here! I tried a tooth check tonight but the little monkey wont let me even put my finger in his mouth.
This one beats all your Dad/dh stories. My mum left my DB with my dad while she took me to a party, DB was 12 months. She came home to find my dad on his own and when she asked where DB was he said he couldn?t stop him from crying so he had asked the next door neighbour to look after him!

Iamblos- Im sure you will both be fine again next weekend. I think Men do feel jealous of DC, I know DH feels that hes only here to be a father and that I don?t show any affection.

Kayzed- whos hair colouring does Roshi have as it is beautiful? I love the flower picture she looks adorable.
Twinkle [anger] for you. Is your salary in your contract? I know with our place even if I clean the loos I still get the same salary as its in my contract. Could you contact the union if you have one
Us- zack has a lovely complexion and big blue eyes. Liked DH?s hairy chest
HC- She looks like you.
Blos- what a good bf you are, I would?ve killed for one of my friends to come around and send me to bed or even do the dishes.
