Evening all

Buggies - I have a Maclaren Ryder (from birth) we were going for the Techno but the Ryder was in the sale and came with a free footmuff thingie (faux fur, choclate brown, v chi chi la la). I walk everywhere and it has been pretty good. You can do one-handed fold too.

Eating - going down the BLW route and something is definitely going down, judging by the 2 stinky nasty nappies I dealt with today. I miss bf poo! DS is getting really good at manipulating food with his hands, and it means I sit and enjoy my breakfast/lunch with him. Still working out where to fit tea in at the mo... He is also starting to pull back a bit on the daytime bf as well. However the past 2 nights he has woken up more and has ended up in bed with me.

Evening everyone

SOPHIE ROLLED TODAY - YAY ! You can tell how excited I am by this. She has also come down with another cold-ggrrrrhhhh so just as I was looking forward to returning to swim class we can't. The course has nearly finished and I've missed so many.

Sophie hasn't wanted any milk today-she has been quite sick though so perhaps her cold is affecting her. She is dribbling like mad so possibly teething again.

Went to the Dentist with my toothache and my tooth had cracked so had to have it refilled-tis throbbing now [ouch]

DD1 is being a nightmare again-she is pushing her luck.

us-poor Zack. Agree that it is time for a stairgate-it was a necessity with DD1.

Ceebee-hope Josh improves soon. Not nice for him. Hope you are better too.

Bloss-hope there is harmony in your house.

kbaby-also hope things are OK with you too.

Lysettes-you globetrotter you Enjoy the remainder of your trip.

frenchleave-bless you, I think we all feel left out sometimes. Deffo never intentional as everyone is so lovely.

Twinkle-crikey, what a rotten employer you have.

jom-how is Amelia? My friend's little girl Amelia got croup-not very nice from what I saw.

pink-good that Jazz has gained some weight. Fancy you disturbing the peace with the fire alarm. No MN until after 6pm. Ooh, the thought of that sends shivers all over me.

Feeling tired all the time lately and a tad emotional and shouting at DD1 isn't helping. Even DH slapped her tonight and he never loses it.

Going to attempt an early night so 'til tomorrow and virtual hugs to all ((xx))

Wallace · 01/03/2007 21:02

didn't there used to be a mum called frenchleave who posted here...? Haven't seen her around for aaages

Dh is feeling a lot better but still a bit poorly (he had a virus which infected his brain and he spent 3 days in hospital last week)

Leo went down at 7:30 but is already up again for a feed which is normal for him these days. He'll prob go down again but will wake up unerringly 20 minutes after I go to sleep, whatever time that is

We still only do lunch and supper, but may introduce breakfast soon. As you know we do blw He had mince and tatties for supper tonight.

I get heaps of "mumum"s now but mostly when he is grumpy. Sometimes it seems as if he rreally means it - I will walk into the room and he will look up and say "mumum!"

Now he is sitting so reliably I just bung him down anywhere, but unfortunatley it means he is practicing his pincer grip on small bits of dirt

Wallace · 01/03/2007 21:03

Well done Sophie!!!!!!!!!!!!

usandnosleep · 01/03/2007 21:18

Hi everyone.

French I am terrible for mentioning people's posts, but I can assure you I read everyone and it all goes in....my Dad must be right, he says women don't have conversations, just a series of interruptions, sexist pig!

5.30am this morning. Blueurghhh! Amazing what you can used to.. Both boys have coughs so hopefully when they are better it will return to normal.

HC, yeah right re lie in, in my dreams...

Nice photo KZ. DS1 saw it and said "What's she called Mumma?" "Kami darling" "hello Kami!"

Am very proud of myself, have put Toby down for a 9am nap every morning this week, and he has gone from crying for 40 minutes about it, to 30 to 20 to 10 and this morning it was about 2mins! Hurray!

Right off to the PlayZone at the Sports Centre to commence today's "Operation Exhaust DS1".

Bloss

Afternoon ladies

Ooh, my tooth hurts today after my filling. So, so difficult trying to eat one side.

Took Marmalade to the vet for a worm tablet, well 2 actually-what a rave. The poor nurse jumped away in shock as he tried to bat her one and I was trying to hold him down at the time. Got them down him in the end-phew!

Gosh-Roshi rolling too Sophie only did it the once so wondering if it was unintentional That is a really good pic of you and DS kayzed.

Bloss-lol at 'Operation exhaust DS1' It will all end in tears.

prettymum-can't you go back to the last system restore point on your PC and you can restore it back to that day which will get rid of your download. I hate pop-ups!

Beadmum-sounds like a nice weekend ahead. Enjoy it.

Wallace-crikey, hope DH's virus goes rapido. How awful and frightening.

Maewest-get practising the fixed grin and gritted teeth ready for the MIL visit.

Hello Koshka-how's tricks? Do not put yourself down.

Better get on as DH will think I do nothing all day.

Hugs

jom · 02/03/2007 21:40

Hi everyone, Amelias croup seems to have gone which is good, hopefully we'll manage to get a bit more uninterupted sleep [fingers crossed emotion]

Speaking of sleep - how much are your LOs sleeping during the day? Just recently I have dropped Amelia back to two naps as she was waking at around 3am and staying awake for around an hour, not crying but just chatting and sometimes 'shouting' just wanting to be awake. Fine if shes in her own room but as she's still in ours a bit disruptive. Since I've dropped the last sleep she has been fine, still waking around 2-3 times but going straight back to sleep after a quick feed. She normally has a sleep at around 9am for 1.5 to 2 hours and then another nap at about 1.30 - 2 o'clock for about 45 mins and then goes to bed around 7.30 and goes straight off as is very tired by this stage.

I've been a bit inspired by all your postings about your routines and have now got Amelia onto three meals a day which seems to be working well at this stage, although it does seem like someone else mentioned that I'm constantly in the kitchen making someone something to eat!

Well done Sophie and Roshi on your rolling Ameila rolled off the bed last night too Pretty, and head butted the tiles on the kitchen floor this morning from a sitting position (missed the cushions) and had her first dose of the bag of frozen peas to the forehead routine! She actually started to become really more mobile over this past week - not crawling but really rolling and moving around.

HC our cats are impossible to give worming tablets to also, I dread it as you think you've finally gotten it down and then you find it on the floor about half an hour later. And because we've got two of them you don't know which one has had the tablet and which one hasn't. Its like something out of an animated film 'OK if I just keep it in here for a couple of minutes they'll think I've swallowed it and leave me alone and then I can spit it out'

Must go now I'm beginning to dribble! Can you tell DH is out and I'm home alone?

kbaby · 02/03/2007 21:47

Had a very stressful day today as were going on holiday next Sunday and it was only after someone in work asked me about DS passport that I realised I hadn?t done one. So we have an appointment with the passport office tomorrow to get one fast tracked which should be here in 7 days time(next Saturday) I hope to god it is. And trying to get a passport picture of him has been a nightmare today. I currently have mum driving down here with a scanned and printed picture of DS after my 3 attempts at holding him in the air while waving a sock at him in the photo booth failed miserably.

Thank you for all the replies on the food. DS is still eating smallish portions or he wont drink his milk and has now decided he wont eat fruit purree. It was reassuring to see some of you are giving the same meals. I dont know what ill do when he does eat more as im sruggling trying to batch cook food for him and work.

Ive got to keep an eye on DD now as yesterday while I was on the loo she told me she had shared her food with DS, he was happily in his bouncy chair munching on a crisp

Twinkle- DS still struggles drinking all his milk so I give him less to eat but somedays hell still not want any more milk and so I give him more solids and he eats it. He just prefers solid food. I have found though that changing the times of his milk worked a bit. We now do 7am wake up- 8.30am breakfast and then milk 1 hr after his breakfast then dinner at 12.30 and milk at 1.30 then more milk at 3 and bedtime.

Us- sorry about your bad day on Wednesday, I hope your over the shock.
Ceebee- How frightening for you. I hope he gets better soon.
HC- a big well done to sophie for rolling
Wallce ? what a horrible time for you and I didn?t even know hed been so bad [big hugs] for him and you of course.
Kayzed- You also must have lovely hair colouring then.

Twinklemegan · 02/03/2007 21:47

Jom and Prettymum - Aidan turned around too far whilst sitting the other day and fell sideways, banging his head on the corner of the video unit which DH had told me to cover with a cushion . Isn't it terrible? But twas the first of many accidents I'm sure (if his dad's anything to go by).

Huuuuge congratulations to Sophie and Roshi!

kbaby · 02/03/2007 21:50

jom- ds is a terrible sleeper but generally goes down at 10am for 1hr then again at 1/2 for 2hrs and mayne a 15 min snooze later on in the day. He still wakes twice a night though and is in our bed by 1am. And how do they know to wake up 10 mins after youve gone to bed!

Morning all

God i can't keep up with you lot of blethers!!!

HC and KZ great to hear Sophie and Roshi are rolling.Eilidh can now too but flips onto her front and whinges till she gets someone to flip her back lol.
She is sitting unaided but obv has the odd fall back/forwards.
She seems to have been a tiny baby doing nothing for such a long time and all of a sudden is doing loads of things and growing up.

Eilidh is eating prety well, has early bf at around 6.30am then porridge around 8am.Bf mid morning and 1/2 cubes of veg and fruit at lunch.Bf mid afternoon and 1/2 cubes at dinner.

Sleeping is ok too atm.She has her bath at around 6/6.30pm and generally is too knackered for a bf so i put her down awake(yeehah} and off she goes.Usually wakes around 10.30pm for a bf but sometimes it's only when i get into bed she wakes, but a quick feed and off she goes so it is great to be getting some sleep at last

Lost 2lbs at SS on Thursday.Thats 2st 1.5lbs at the class plus what i lost before i joined so nearly 3st altogether.Have 1.5st to go to get to my target weight so should manage that by the time we go on hols in October.

Was down at Gretna on Thursday finalising details for the wedding. The seating plan is a nightmare, who would have imagined all these bits being a PITA? Not me!!!
Getting fitted for my underwear next Friday and have a spray tan woman coming Friday night to do a trial.Booked nail appt and hair trial.OMG i am bound to have forgotton something.

PS Frenchleave hello!! I do read all the posts but always forget to write loads.

Koshka post a pic, from what i remember you are lovely

Off to get dd's dressed(groan) and off to shops, have a good day all xx

FirstAtForty · 03/03/2007 13:20

Hi Girls
Just a quick post to say hi before I head off into town for a girls shopping trip with Emma.
She?s much better this week, hasn?t puked since Sunday (tho? it was an almighty scary and voluminous bright orange one though, I have to say!). I?ve kept her off major solids until yesterday, when she happily ate lots of mashed banana and avocado (top tip whoever mentioned that one, ta) and some beef casserole stuff from a jar. She has just polished off another huge portion, hurrah. It?s a relief when she will eat lots of solids, mainly because of nursery because I can?t keep up with constant bottles of EBM for when she?s there.

She has developed quite a temper though, when she?s tired she really screeches and thrashes ? I have taken to just putting her in her cot and running away till she?s over it! Doesn?t seem to be any point in trying to comfort her, she just won?t have any of it. Quite often as soon as I?m out of eyeshot she calms right down

Us ? hope Zack has recovered from his fall, how scary for you . Emma took a tumble out of her car seat once onto the tiled kitchen floor ? I was lifting it down off a chair and the handle got stuck, she literally did a front flip. Luckily landed mainly on her back but screamed for ages. Btw if you haven?t already, I can recommend trying Zack on mashed avocado and banana mixed together ? (can you tell I?m quite evangelical about it now!) Lots of lovely calories

Agalch ? sounds like the plans are well underway, how exciting. Don't go too OTT with the spray-on though, let Posh Spice be a caution to you

Kbaby ? good luck with the passport, what a nightmare. Good point though, it?s something I hadn?t even though about yet whilst dreaming of weekends away in Barcelona.

Well done to Sophie and Roshi

Catch up later, have good afternoons all xx

IamBlossom · 03/03/2007 13:42

well done Rosh and Soph on the rolling!

Wallace sorry to hear about DH hope he is ok now!

Glad Bananacado is a hit with Emma too F@F, Toby loves it!

Speaking of which - couldn't you just eat him?

Weekend much better so far - so good....

Bloss

xx
