MaeWest · 10/04/2007 09:44

Hi all - sorry you didn't have such a good weekend usandnosleep, and in-laws too! Reckon that chocolate is deffo medicinally required . DS doesn't have shoes yet, really must get round to looking for some. As for favourite toys, well anything he's not supposed to have, particularly electrical cables, remote controls, mobile phones etc. 'Proper' toys, favourites are noise-makers, he has a pair of maracas and some jingly things. When we were staying with my mum she had borrowed a collection of irritating electronic music toys which he predictably went mad for - suspect there was an element of novelty there tho.

Morning ladies

us-hugs to you ((xx)) Have your sorted things out with DP? Hate, hate rowing with DH. Stuff all the choccy in one go!

Bloss and sohappy-your lovely, lovely children are yummy, yummy.

Ceebee-Sophie has a baby version of these and has done from about 3 months. She is on her 2nd pair as her diddy feet have grown to size 1 (up to 6 months). She has great fun taking them off all the time.

Reporting back on the no nappy at night situation. As I said yesterday DD1 spent the night at MIL's on Sunday and wore no nappy and was completely dry. Soooo, put her to bed at 9-20pm when we got home. Checked on her 2 hours later and she was sodden-she had a big wee before getting in to bed but clearly she had at least 2 more wees. We changed her clothes and put a pull up on and it was sodden this morning. I find it very hard to believe she was dry at MIL. Also, I only sent 1 pair of PJ's so wasn't it a big risk for MIL to take as she couldn't guarantee DD1 would stay dry and then she would have nothing to wear in bed?

Have a stinking migraine today so AF must be on its merry way!

Have a good day ladies.

xxx

Ceebee74 · 10/04/2007 11:26

HC - methinks your MIL might have been telling you a little porky pie

Those were the kind of shoes I had in mind (obviously not pink sparkly ones though - Mothercare do some great England football ones) - but as he is combat crawling, I think they might get in the way if he wore them round the house but maybe when we are out in his pushchair so he gets used to them?

usandnosleep · 10/04/2007 12:10

Thanks for the sympathy ladies, it was awful, I was very close to asking him to leave
I hope we manage to sort things out but it is the same issue cropping up again and again.

HC- Honestly, your MIL makes me sooo Obviously fibbing.

My sister is coming over in an hour and bringing with her 4 boys Wish me and my tidy house luck

HumphreysCorner · 10/04/2007 12:29

us-you know where we are if you need to talk. Have a 'fun' afternoon. ((xx))

FirstAtForty · 10/04/2007 12:59

Hi Girls ? well heaps to catch up on as ever, so I?m going to do a couple of instalments as I have a day off today and otherwise it will be a humungous thread-crashing essay. So here goes instalment one?

Gorgeous pics Sohappy, love the black and white outfit

Bloss, wow, creative bonnets and very very cute boys! ?Tony? really isn?t looking too impressed with his though, bless

Kayzed ? Roshi looks like a really hip chick hanging out in her P&T in the park, aaaaw

Hi Sleep, glad you had a good holiday

Agalch ? so how did it go?!!! Big congrats and can?t wait to see the piccies

HC ? hope your migraine goes soon and you get a chance to put your feet up a bit.

Us ? hugs, how miserable for you. Hope you can get things resolved soon and move forward.

re shoes, Emma has always worn those scrunchy bootees (and still does), but recently I bought some shoes from Mothercare, they are soft corduroy but have soles on them. They don?t really perform any duty other than looking pretty on the end of her feet though I just put them on when she?s wearing a proper ?outfit?, so not that often.

Am finally phasing out the baby-gros though! Her 3-6 month ones are nearly all too small now so her new uniform is a vest, long sleeved t-shirt, soft comfy trousers, hoody and Gap socks (don?t fall off!). She looks so different and much older in ?proper? clothes.

She is chugging down food now, 3 meals a day and sometimes cries when it has finished! Definitely getting more porky, must get her weighed again. Seems to have changed from a dainty little baby almost overnight.

Re toys, she is also a fan of noise. I resisted buying electronic toys until she was given a Vtech radio for Christmas (lots of different tunes and voices when you press the buttons) and it kept her occupied for ages, so I bought another Vtech toy to go along with it . And the activity centre (the thing she sits/stands in the middle of) has lots of different things on it, some of which make a noise and some don?t, she likes them all. Have wanted to get her some blocks or something for ages but haven?t been able to find anything under a tenner, will keep looking. Other than that she has teddies and colourful soft toys/cloth books. Not much interest in her ball yet as she can?t move anywhere to chase it!

Re sterilising, I?ve knocked the Milton tablets on the head now and just put stuff in the dishwasher or wash it well by hand. If the bottles are going to be made up and then hanging around for a while (eg if going out or being put in nursery fridge) I rinse them with boiling water.

SleepIsForTheWeak · 10/04/2007 20:08

Us, hope things improve, old issues can be sorted out {{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{hugs}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}

I bought Sefton a pair of baby high top converse on e-bay whilst I was still pregnant - they were "huge" - a baby size 3 - and this weekend I thought I would see how far he has to go to fit into them and they were too small! GUTTED! He is size 4! My friend calls him a labrador puppy with his big paws.

DH coming home with a playpen this evening that I got off e-bay too, just somewhere to pop him when I need to do things like food, withour worrying.

have good evenings

jersey · 10/04/2007 20:37

Hi guys long time no messages!!!!

Thanks for the congrats. Haven't been on here for ages as just don't seem to have the time. Preg ok so far, first scan next week (15 weeks) so will let you know. Matthew is teething, can see all teeth in gums but first popped up today. Might get some sleep now. Being preg with only 3 hours sleep a night is exhausting, not to be recommended.

Another speedy conception, luckly this time due october as 2 in july is bad enough .

Hope everyones little ones are doing well, and everyone is coping.

Thanks Jersey

Hey everyone!
Would love to have another, but still not too sure how i feel about Jake GP keeps upping my dose of Anti-Ds and sending me for counceling. My work is sending me for a occupational health interview thing. its in leeds (nearest city to me), and at 9.30am so that would be fun getting a peak time train!

Pretty - i think jake is ahead only as he was born on the 3rd.

Kami oh i think i can get a pic up...if i must...! here standing up on my knee

Better go as life on Mars is on and its the last episode!

jakes had a viral infection and has been really hot..any tips or just keep him in vest and stuff?

jake mostly waers clothes as he can cruise easily in them which is a shame i love him in sleepysuits so cute.

night x

Congrats Algach xxxxx

kbaby · 10/04/2007 21:32

Well DS has apparently said Dada, He said it when DH was looking after him so im not entirely convinced and he hasn?t said it since so theres greater evidence to think that DH is making it up.

Were doing cc. I hate it DS is waking at least twice a night but more like 4 times. This morning he woke at 12 and then 5am and wouldn?t go back to sleep. I ve just started off doing it at bedtime as I can?t yet face doing it through the night. Im hoping if I can improve bedtime that with any luck he may carry it through himself at night time.
Last night he cried for 45mins and was sick through crying. Me going in made him worse and so he got hysterical at some points but tonight he whinged for 6 minutes before going to sleep I hope tomorrow night is the same because if it works we have to start doing it for the next waking at 12pm ish.

Prettmum- I have an advantage at getting DD to hold my hand as I tell her does she remember what happened to our cat(he got run over) then I say if you don?t hold my hand the same may happen to you.

We had a good Easter with lots of eggs. We bought DD a Disney princess CD as she is obsessed and so all I get in the back of the car is her singing loudly along to Little Mermaid. She also thinks she?s a mermaid and wears my Eye mask, it?s the one that goes in the fridge, across her boobs to be like Ariel?s bikini.
She?s also got rid of her dummy, I cut holes in the teat and told her she had sucked them too hard. She took one suck and said ?im not having that? and hasn?t had one since.

Sorry I realise this has been all about DD but DS isn?t doing much at the moment apart from crying if I even think about parking his bum on the floor, eating or laughing at DD.

jersey-is currently due with No3 in October 07
HumphreysCorner-will be having No3
usandnosleep- will be having No2
Iamblossom - will be having No3 (within the next year, if at all, I have been informed by DH....gulp)
Twinkle - undecided, possibly not
prettymum- undecided
Pavlov - will def be having no.2
Ceebee - probably - not decided 100% but if we do, will probably start to TTC by the end of this year!
kamikayzed - no siree, unless there's an escapee!
Wallace - will not be having number 4! Unless maybe we win the lottery
Sleep - definitely, maybe TTC next year
Impy - hopefully another one at some point
Sohappyicouldcry - really want a No 2, not just yet though, need to persuade DH too !!
Kbaby- Only if number 3 comes with a night nurse.

HC- Things will get better for you both honestly. I went through this while preg with DD and it is horrible, I cried daily just because she was being nasty to her friends or making me feel embarrassed as it always seemed to be her getting into trouble/shouting/hitting/biting/throwing/scratching friends eyes out (you get the picture) I don?t know how but one day you will just realise that she?s got better. Weve just night trained DD and just did the ?oh well if she pees the bed it?s got a protector on it? training. It may just have been that she didn?t have much to drink on the night MIL had her.

kbaby · 10/04/2007 21:33

oh my god! can you tell from the legth of my threads that I dont get to talk to anyone all day in work.

Sorry.

kbaby · 10/04/2007 21:38

Koshka- Love the pics. Keep him cool by just putting a vest on him and you can try and sponge his head down with a cool sponge if hell let you. Otherwise I pop out for a walk around the garden to cool DS down which seems to work.
hope hes better soon

twinklemeagain · 10/04/2007 21:58

Aww kbaby - good luck with the sleeping thing. It is horrible listening to them cry, but I always feel that if he gets worse when I go in that's telling me something. It doesn't stop me going in or picking him up, but it does give me confidence that it is sleep he needs. It sounds like you're making progress though and it'll be better for him as well in the long run.

Koshka - sorry to hear Jake is poorly. Great pics again!

Well I can report that Aidan has said Mama (well it was more like uhmama actually). I can't boast that he was saying it TO me though - I think it was more in the context of finally starting to make some double consonant sounds. He's also said boo boo so we are making progress at last.

But I CAN boast that he can now hold himself up in a standing position if we put him there. He spent ages today standing up holding onto the chest thing we use as a coffee table - clever boy. The crawling's coming on as well, though at the moment it's more of a strange shuffle/drag manouvre (like you see in films when someone's about to peg it).

He seems to have got over the croup and the nasty cough that followed it, thank god - it was very frightening and I understand it was a only mild attack.

I am very very stressed at the moment as I am now in the throws of applying for a review of my job evaluation result. The upshot of the je and our restructuring so far is that I have tons more responsibility on potentially much less pay. We've been given a deadline of next Friday to get together revised job descriptions and all the supporting questionnaires etc. - at some point we are supposed to do the day job as well (which for me is two day jobs at the mo since my line manager is on leave). Nightmare!

Beadmum · 10/04/2007 22:15

so much to catch up on.

hi everyone, hope all is well. just a quick post then will try and read through all your posts (will take me a while )

still chaos here, new kitchen is all fitted but still to do painting and flooring. charlotte is much better, still a bit sniffly but other than that fine, also tooth number 2 has arrived

ok, better get reading or i'll be here all night

FirstAtForty · 10/04/2007 22:36

Have finally got round to instalment 2

Hi Beadmum!

Us - meant to say before that?s great news about Zack eating more and sleeping a bit better, fingers crossed for you

Ceebee - great news too that Josh is recovered , roll on the warmer weather and banishment of the evil bugs!

Sleep - that happened to me too re the shoes, bought a really cute pair of white furry boots (luckily just Sainsburys ones) and had them on display in her room for months till she was finally wearing a suitable outfit to show them off, and they were too small

Congrats Jersey and respect to you for coping with two wee ones while pregnant, good luck with the scan

Kbaby - meant to say fab pics too - couldn?t believe it was your DS standing ON HIS OWN in front of the washing machine clever boy!

Kosh - aaw he?s so gorgeous, and standing up too!

Twinkle - clever boy too! Lol at the shuffle/drag manoeuvre! Glad he?s over the croup, sounds v scary. Good luck with the job evaluation, sounds very tedious and stressy at the same time

Impy - re the expressing while feeding, yes I have to feed her on one boob while expressing from the other, otherwise I can?t get it to work. Very difficult now as she insists on trying to beat up her ?competitor? for the milk! I don?t think I?m going to be able to keep going with the expressing and the yield is crap now anyway, so hopefully my supply will be okay just with bf when I?m with her. She?s eating enough solids now to keep her going at nursery so that?s good.

Kayzed, lol, it sounds like Roshi knows what she likes! Emma does that dismissive batting away of things which don?t pass muster on the food front, I?ll have to teach her to say ?no thank you mummy, would it be possible to have my dessert now instead please? btw the scanned pages on bf were interesting, Emma does that thing of playing with my boobs instead of concentrating on feeding.

She has four party pieces atm, waving, clicking her tongue, raspberry blowing and saying ?dadadadadada?. I think she is desperate to talk but has to make do with these for now. God there will be no shutting her up once she can speak

Well better get off to bed, have good nights all xxx

HumphreysCorner · 10/04/2007 22:44

DH 'borrowed' my laptop at 8-45pm and has just returned it now. 2 hours later-gggggrrrrhhhh!!!!!

Will have to catch up tomorrow as dosed up with tablets in the hope that I get some sleep. DD1 has turned boiling hot tonight and didn't want her milk-oh dear. The thing today is that I tried to express some milk with the electric pump and with my fingers [ouch] and about 2 drops came out. Sophie is now screaming and pushing me away if I try and put her anywhere near my boobs.

Night ladies.

xxx

sohappyicouldcry · 10/04/2007 23:00

Thanks for all the lovely comments about my little honey. Still can't get over the proud feeling every time I look at her. What happens when you have DC2 ??? Not sure I'll have enough love to share around !!

Hope you sleep ok HC, could it be that Sophie is not feeding well because you are really tired ? They pick up vibes don't they ?

Off to bed myself now as have work tomorrow. Have to take DD in with me to swap her over to DH to take to childminders ! Poor little mite will have to be woken to leave the house by 5.45am. At least she can sleep in the car !! .

Night night girls xx

KBaby great to hear from you, good luck withthe CC, keep at it girl it will be worth it in the end.

Us sorry to hear about probs with DP, it is shit isn't it, how are things now?

KZ, i love Jojo clothes, Toby's got some gorgeous blue and white stripy troos from there which are my absolute fave and i think I will buy him a pair in the next size up too as he is nearly out of them. he is now in 12-18 month sleep suits which although are a teeny bit long fit him everywhere else!

Hi Bead!

LOL 1st @ 40 re asking for dessert. yeah right, I'm still trying to get H to say please may I have instead of I want.

HC - didn't know you were a SIMs addict! Read on that other post about your DH and BIL wiping your laptop, god you must have been near divorce! Sorry Sophie is poorly again. Hope things get better with DD soon.

Toby is really into butternut squash mixed with natural yoghurt! Tried both boys on porridge yesterday, no go. MADE H try some though and then we tipped it away.

had a fun afternoon at a friends yesterday in her amazing garden. It's huge with a great climbing frame and totally safe. She told me a funny story about her 3 year old, he turned around yesterday morning whilst playing with his trains and said "Where the fuck is Edward?" PMSL. Back in a min, H is clambering al over me...............

prettymum · 11/04/2007 11:41

twinkle- congrats to aidan on the standing! not lon efore he can reach for everything and pull them down!

forty- junior can only do 2 party pieces at mo, clapping and blowing raspberries! well done to emma on her four!

kbaby- good luck with cc, with dd it worked really well, dp was doubting it first as he hated hearing her cry. but she started sleeping 7-7 in a week once we were done with her. junior took 3 days, just made sure he didnt have late naps.

beadman- congrats to charlotte on 2nd tooth- junior's third one has just come through and looks so big compared to other 2!

sohappy- how do you manage such an early start??

junior is becoming terrible with naps, he just wont fall asleep even if he' sdead tired, he just doesnt want to miss anything! he is currently screaming in bedroom, hasnt napped all morning!

IamBlossom · 11/04/2007 14:15

Hi Pretty, congrats on your Sister!

Hi jersey, congrats to you hon, hope things calm down!

IamBlossom · 11/04/2007 14:25

Kosh your pics are lovely what a happy chappie!!

Ceebee74 · 11/04/2007 19:32

Mammoth posts everyone!

Us ? hope things are on the mend with you and your DP ? rowing is awful {{{{{hugs}}}}}

Jersey ? don?t think we have ?met? before but congratulations and hope the scan goes well ? keep us updated

Koshka ? what great photos and what a clever boy Jake is ? he looks so stable standing up. Hope he is on the mend.

Kbaby ? I hope the CC is going ok and is not too traumatic (as if it wouldn?t be!) I have never done it but I am sure you just need to keep focused on the end result.

Twinkle ? glad Aidan is better ? that movement is EXACTLY what Josh does but you described it so much better than me. It is just like someone dying in a film only with much more energy and speed! Good luck with the job evaluation ? I know how stressful the process can be.

First ? I love Emma?s party pieces. Josh?s is definitely waving atm ? will do it to anyone anytime anywhere! Oh and he is clearly saying ?daddy? now and will look straight at DH when you ask ?where is daddy?? ? doesn?t work with mummy though

Pretty ? big congratulations to your sister ? I do hope she lets you be involved as having a niece or nephew is fab.

Well, not much to report here ? work is pretty crap at the moment ? could quite easily walk away tomorrow if we didn?t need the money . Think Josh might be getting his 2 front top teeth through ? does anyone know any other babies who got their top teeth first??
