Hello everyone. Welcome back Koshka!

Have any of your LOs had croup? I've just posted a thread in Health about it because I'm really quite worried. DS had an attack of it early Thurs morning and again Thurs night - it was really alarming. I'm not sure he's shifted it yet - his breathing's really noisy in his sleep but that could be his cold I suppose. I'm just hoping this isn't going to happen frequently - I don't think my nerves could cope - I can't get out of my head reading that serious attacks can be life-threatening .

hey all,

happy easter!!

i dont think we'll be going for no3 anytime soon! but im still 21( 22 on april 18th!)so maybe when the children are older and we've sorted ourselves out properly, maybe we'll have another but i really dont want to go through all the baby stages again, its too draining!

kbaby- ds is adorable and so tall! hope your dds tonsilitis gets better, i get it time to time and its horrible, cant imagine how a 2 yr old can handle it!

koshka- nice to hear from you! jake must be the leader of the babies, he seems to be the one doing everything first!

kz- ive had retail therapy last two days, bought dd a lovely dungaree skirt from primark, she looked so adorable in it!

bloss- sounds like you had a brilliant day matching the lovely day!

im having problems getting d o hold my hands when crossing roads and other times to, i end up shouting at her and pulling her across the road, its so frustrating! other than that we have had lovely days out the last two day!

junior is becoming worse than dd at making mess! first thing in the morning he crawls over to the toys, pulls down the box containing the blocks and scatters them everywhere and then to the dvds! but he has the most adorable eyes and smile which make our hearts melt!

Morning ladies

Well i am not pleased this morning!! My 2 dd's decided instead of them having a lie in and allowing me to have a cuppa and mn in peace they would get up too Result dd1 glued to cartoons and dd2 whinging on my knee.

Will i have another baby (boohoo) sadly not.Dp had the snip in December and he will be doing the 2nd sample when we come home after the wedding.I think we both secretly hope it hasn't worked thoThat's why we had to have it done or else i would probably be pg again within months. We have 4 beautiful children,it would be greedy to ask for more i think. Was always afraid having No 4 that something would go wrong after being lucky with the other 3.

Dp was supposed to be off Fri/Sat/Sun but had to work yesterday and today leaving me to try and organise last minute wedding stuff and pack for everyone Aaaaaaagggggghhhhhh!!!!!! Picking up kilts etc tomorrow and thats us. Am getting really excited and the nerves have subsided atm.

Eilidh sitting well but has stopped rolling and chatters loads(just like me)Eats like a horse, loves squash/sweet pots and casseroles/spag bol.Had some pilau rice and korma sauce and nan bread the other night.Made for an interesting nappy the next day lol. She is def teething and feeds off and on throughout the night.Gets very tiring but what can you do? A "friend" suggested putting her in a room and ignoring her. Yeah like that would really work for a mum like me lol.

Anyhow off to entertain my girls so hope you all have a good day, looks like the weather might be good here in Scotland today yeehah!!

usandnosleep · 07/04/2007 08:40

Hi Twinkle, my DS hasn't had croup but I had it badly as a baby. I was in hospital for a few weeks but no lasting damage done.
What has your doc said? It must sound very frightening {{hugs}}

Loads of time pretty

Agalch- and c-a-l-m! I'm so excited for you!

Well done Sophie! Tried Zack on fishfingers-nope!

Lovely pics kbaby, he's looking so grown up and very pleased with himself.

PavlovtheCatthatgottheCremeEgg · 07/04/2007 10:52

DD is right off her food. Only wants milk at the mo. brekky is out. lunch, tea, supper only a little. And no bottle at all. Its like she knows I am going back to work and need to feel confident she will be ok.... She has been having a coughing fit each night atm, for about an hour. Strange. It doesa not appear to wake her. She is also sleeping lots more. However, she is not unwell. She is in a good mood, playing happily, chatting away, being her usual loverly self. Its odd. Maybe a growth spurt? [hmm}

I go back on tuesday . They already want me to do two residential courses, ond 5 day at end of april, and one 5 day mid june . Luckily it is close enough to commute, but will be a long day/week.

Spent all afternoon on beach with DDs cousins yesterday, in Exmouth. They are visiting from Durham (brother from inverness, he is in army). It was loverly. She lvoes her cousins and the beach. Shame they live so far away, I want them to really know each other .

HumphreysYummyChoccyEggCorner · 07/04/2007 11:34

Morning ladies

What glorious weather Only annoying thing is I put 3 big sacks of feed and weed on the grass and we have not had a jot of rain to wash it in so DD1 can't play out on it.

agalch-grrrhhh. You need all the rest you can get-not long now

Pavlov-oh hun, wish you all the best for Tuesday. Know the feeling well but luckily escaped any courses. ((xx)) Just milk will be fine for your DD-don't worry. Sophie has been coughing in the night for a over a week but I end up having to give her a feed to help her settle.

Twinkle-hope DS gets better from his croup.

kayzed-DD1 talks and screams out in her sleep regulary. Think she takes after me as I wake up seeing people and giants spiders in the room-can almost reach out and touch them. Used to sleepwalk as a child especially the night before a music exam.

DD1 being her usual self-totally ignoring everything I say. Phoned DH at work and he said he wasn't surprised she was doing that as she has no respect for me.

Ailment No 23-don't know what I have done to one of my toes on my right foot. It hurts soooo much-can't put weight on it and standing on tip toe is a no no. Feels a bit like when you get hot aches after being in the snow. Perhaps it is the onset of arthritis-lordy, hope not.

DD1 has a Bible stories book so have been reading bits to her to try and get her to know what Easter is about. She kept wandering off! Doh!

DH is now keeping me awake with his dreadful snoring-think I will emigrate to get away from everyone!

Why, oh why can't one buy a replacement ironing board cover-don't know how I am supposed to iron on this

Have a good day all.

Hi ladies

Hope you are all having fab Easters and enjoying this lovely weather.

Kbaby - can't see your photos (don't know why )

Agalch - hope your wedding day is just perfect x

Twinkle - not experienced croup but have read about it and it does sound scary - have you taken him to the doctors?

Josh seems to be on the mend at last - he is back to his usual happy, cheerful self again today and he has kept down 2 9oz bottles and some brekky this morning so fingers crossed that we might be able to get back to normal.

Pav/HC - Josh also coughs a lot in the night but never wakes up with it - in fact, on Thursday night me and Dh were 'busy' (iykwim ) and we could hear Josh coughing but not badly so we carried on - afterwards, went in to check on him and he was fast asleep but the bed was soaking and he was led in a pile of vomit - I felt very guilty -does this make me a bad mummy?? He was not distressed at all and as I said, fast asleep - although (and I will duck the flying missiles here) he will sleep through absolutely anything - even this bad cold and cough has not affected his sleeping

Ceebie - not a bad mummy. If your busy, your busy eh? .

DD coughs for ages, it keeps us awake more than er! I turned the monitor down night before last but then felt ever so guilty in case she was not ok...am i a bad mummy too?

HumphreysYummyChoccyEggCorner · 07/04/2007 19:29

You ladies Am so pleased you are actually getting down to business. You are not bad mummies and the babies will certainly not remember.

Had 2 of my old school friends round this afternoon with their DC. They both have a DD, one nearly 5 and the other 6 in October. Anyway, DD1 being her usual horrible bolshy self meant that her 2 friends refused to play with her They came down and played with DD1's laptop which she is not able to master yet and all she did was have the biggest jealous tantrum ever. I didn't give in but then as soon as she said 'I want them to leave' my 2 friends went. So, tomorrow PIL are taking her out for the day and I have asked if they will keep her overnight as I am really at breaking point with her. DH had to step in a couple of times at bath time.

My friend's didn't seem to understand how I feel sadly. They think I am making out I am hard done to and DD1 is only naughty in my eyes.

Best drink my cuppa.

Hi all, have been away for a while, staying with my parents so DH could knock out the fireplace in our front room (not a period feature, manky 80s thing with built in tv/video thing). This is the first time that DS has been away from home, he loved spending time with his grandparents and uncles, lots of fuss being made of him . He also joined in the roast dinner yesterday, so funny seeing him savaging a slice of roast lamb . He's getting really good with his hands, pincer grip and everything. Has suddenly mastered his sippy cup. And today he had 2 naps in his cot (altho boobed him down for the after lunch one). A routine is vaguely forming!

HC - reading your stuff about Sophie not being bothered about bf. From what I've read, 9 months is classic time for 'nursing strike' where babies refuse the breast. Some people choose to wean at this time, if it's convenient, but it doesn't have to mean the end of bf if you don't want it to, just keep offering it but don't make a big deal if she refuses (like any other food really). Also, by this point Sophie will be really efficient at glugging down what she needs, so not feed for long. Even DS the boob-fiend is backing off a bit during the day. Still waking in the night tho, at around 1.30 and then 5ish, has a feed both times, I just want to go back to sleep so I don't bother trying anything else. I'm hoping he'll grow out of it, but if not in a few months time I'm going to try and nightwean by sending DH in to comfort for a few nights ( whether this will work at all, or whether I will just cave in when the yelling starts is another matter...).

All this bf is doing me good tho, weighed myself at mums as she has more accurate scales and I am 10st 7lb! This is about a stone less than I was before I got pg. Trouble is, DH keeps looking at my newly svelte figure with that look in his eye...

Lol at DH Mae

Sophie had a sort of feed at waking up time then no more at all today. Tried at bedtime and she screams at the thought of it. Guess she is just full up and needs nothing else.

DD1 at PIL-they have taken her to Pleasure Island and she is staying overnight. Am so chilled out. Some rellies of DH turned up just as I was going for a walk so they came too. The daughter is 30 weeks PG so we chatted about babies. Lordy, I want another-will be worse when she has her girl (according to my string test )

Best get on with tea, difficult considering the glasses of Blossom Hill I have consumed

Byee for now.
