evening ladies.

HC - good for you talking to your DH about it, a goo dmove. Shame MIL turned up halfway through.... Her timing stinks. Wasn't sure from the tone of your post whether you wer epleased with DH's first two questions, they seemed reasonable ones to me..... Eco what the other girls here have said, CAN you get some time to yourself? I'm sure KZ won't mind you joining her on her mnthly Spa Day will you KZ? WHICH by the way i think is a great idea for you KZ, and something you deffo need, I will also be joining you.....

I did have a day gallivanting around London yesterday however, with my sisters and Mum, done up like a dogs dinner cos you can't wear jeans having tea at Fortnum and Masons donchaknow! had a whale of time, lunch at WagaMamas on the Embankment, waltzing round Harrods (where I nearly spent £20 on a t-shirt with "Pudding" on the front for Tobes but managed to restrain myself but did spend a fortune on other gubbins I don't need) too much wine etc. Dh coped fine with the boys, mainly cos he drove them down to his sisters and his mum was also on hand to help! Had a good day today too, Dh had another cookfest for Toby while I took the boys to the woods in the sunshine..

Kbaby, your washing tip could not have come at a better time, will be hanging Harry's new t-shirt with bolognese stain out on the line tomorrow morning where it will stay come rain or shine for one week.

Just watched that Louis Theroux, god what a family, and those poor children....

Hugs to Us and Maewest, get some sleep soon girls.

Us ? what a stupid woman! Not a great advert for her clinic is she??

Impy ? hope the mastitis is getting better ? no advice but {{{{{hugs}}}}}

HC ? hope you are feeling a bit better today ? maybe having the ?work? issue hanging over you isn?t helping the situation ? I know speaking to your boss will be hard but you may feel so much better once it is done.

Kbaby ? am about your day yesterday ? ooh a lie-in, what is one of those???

Bloss ? also of your shopping trip?.it must have been lovely to have a girly day like that ? and shop in Harrods!

Josh is still poorly ? got a stinking cold and cough so we are back to the puking with the cough again ? great! Just after I thought it had finished and he was finally eating properly?ho hum! Completely off his milk aswell, I think he only had about 10oz yesterday plus a Little Stars yoghurt ? although I think he is hungry, just struggling to suck on his bottle to get the milk out as his nose is bunged up - he stops every few seconds, takes a deep breath and starts sucking again ? and then seems to give up after 4oz as probably too much like hard work.

Anyway, HV is coming at 10.30 today for his 8 month check ? which should be fun as he is a grumpy little man at the moment and feeling very sorry for himself ? not really representative of his usual cheerful happy soul!

Morning ladies

Group hug ((((((((((((((((((((((((((xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx))))))))))))))))))))))))))

Guess what-am ill again with a sore throat from hell so me, DH and Sophie ill.

Thank you for all your kind words. Went to mum and dad's for the day while DH went to the Bike Racing which was lovely and we went for a long walk along the beach front. Shame DD1 screamed, cried, whinged and shouted abuse at us for 2 1/2 hours and Have now banned Beebies and DVD's until next Sunday. If I was on my own with her I think I would have lost it but as mum and dad were with me I coped better. When I was driving home last night the heavy feeling hit me . How strange. I did leave Sophie and DD1 with DH on Sat afternoon while I popped to Tescos and the Garden Centre for 2 hours. Came back to a riot though as DH just left them to it and never checked on them I think my main worry at the moment is money as we seem to be the most short we have ever been which makes me feel guilty about not going back to work. But what I would earn wouldn't make much difference after petrol and parking and the stress it would cause me is too much to go into. Will be happier once I have spoken to my Manager (I think). DD1 does go to Grandparents 2 days a week and am going to let her stay over night sometimes. Sophie is so much easier to handle but perhaps the same old routines are getting a tad tedious. DH said he will take a week off soon which will be good. I suppose I still blame a lot of how DD1 is on going to MIL and have a phobia about Sophie becoming like that so maybe that is why I daren't leave her with MIL yet-the time will come though as my mum is desperate to have her especially when DD1 starts school in September.

Crikey, what ramblings! Sophie starving so better go.

soph28 · 02/04/2007 14:15

I have only just managed to start my diet and it was enforced because DH is doing a strict detox to try to cure a patch of scoriosis. Have been mainly eating raw fruit and veg this week and think I have lost 2 lbs. Hope I continue. Really want some chocolate or some bread.

Am going to join a gym this afternoon. We have booked a summer holiday in France and I REALLY want to be THIN(er)

Well done you lot that have lost loads already- am very but also more motivated to keep going!

Gosh KZ, Roshi is so clever - her vocabulary is fantastic isn't it? Josh has not said anything recognisable yet - although he does do the puppet waving at all times.

He passed all his developmental checks with flying colours - even though he is poorly. However his weight is stuck at 18 5 (at 39 weeks) - he has not gone above this for about 8 weeks now (he has gone below it)! He has dropped to between 9th and 25th centile for all 3 measurements now (was born exaclty on the 50th for them all) but refreshingly the HV was not at all concerned and said babies find their 'true' size.

The puking has now become quite violent (red face, proper retching) and he has now got diaorrhea (sp?) - he has had about 8oz of milk today and a bit of fruit puree but trying not to worry - easier said than done.

HumphreysYummyChoccyEggCorner · 02/04/2007 21:28

Poor Josh-have you taken him to the Drs? Hope this passes soon and he feels better.

kayzed-bless little Roshi. Can't remember if I said (having memory/concentration problems at the mo) but Sophie clapped on Friday. DD1 clapped because I ate all my tea up and Sophie looked up and copied her. Made me cry.

soph28 · 02/04/2007 22:15

CB- I think your HV is right about the weight. Toby was on the 85th centile when he was born but after about 10 weeks he started coming down and continued to the 9th centile by about 7 months. No one was concerned. He has continued to be between the 9th and 25th and he is 2 now (he only weighs about 24-25lbs) but is really healthy.

KZ- Roshi sounds cute- it's adoreable when they start waving and chatting to complete strangers.

think I might go and have a lovely warm bath now.

TwinklemEGGan · 02/04/2007 22:18

Hello ladies. Just a quick post to catch up.

HC - sorry to hear you're feeling so down. I hope you can get the support you need and feel better soon.

Prettymum - sorry about your driving test.

Impy - mastitis. Owww - poor you!

CB - I do hope Josh gets better soon (and same goes for everyone else with poorly babes) .

KZ - Roshi is doing so well with her words. Aidan's still not really babbling even. I do wonder whether it's linked to when they start getting teeth.

But... [fanfare] Aidan has, well not exactly got a tooth yet, but there's a definite slit in his lower gum. It can't be long now surely? In fact it might already be through - he won't let me look or feel the little devil.

He's soo cute, he's started blowing kisses at me and DH. It's so lovely watching him really really concentrate and then purse his lips and produce a beautiful kiss. Mind you when he makes contact he prefers the more direct French kiss or love bite approach.

I can't remember who's baby is commando crawling, but Aidan's doing that now as well. How ARE we going to baby proof our house - can't keep putting it off now.

TwinklemEGGan · 02/04/2007 22:19

Oh forgot to say, Aidan's started waving now at anything and everything. I'm not sure he knows he's waving though, but it's really sweet nonetheless.

Ceebee74 · 03/04/2007 07:44

HC - well done on the weight loss - now you can enjoy the hot cross buns without feeling guilty as you deserve it

Twinkle - it is Josh who is commando crawling - I have just babyproofed all of downstairs so he can roam as much as he likes (he is not allowed on the floor upstairs yet!) Josh also seems to prefer french kissing or sucking rather than a normal kiss - how clever of Aiden to blow kisses - v cute!

Going to take Josh to the doctors today if I can get an appointment as he can't keep anything down - only little bits of water. I'm trying to decide what to do about work tomorrow as he is really poorly so he can't go to nursery and I really don't want to leave him with anyone else (the only option being MIL which is not an option in my mind) - think I am going to have to ring my boss and ask her if I can take holiday for tomorrow and wednesday but I am not sure how much more understanding she is going to be - I will see what the doc says first.

Ceebee74 · 03/04/2007 07:45

Twinkle - sorry, misspelt Aidan's name - will get it right in future

MaeWest · 03/04/2007 08:57

Morning all Hope Josh feels better soon Ceebee, horrible when they're ill isn't it {{hugs}}.

No talking here but lots of noise of all kinds, including squealing when he gets really excited. Also, forgot to mention it but he is finally rolling all the way over. Went to swimming yesterday and DS was the splashiest baby in the pool, as well as trying to drink all the water ( maybe I should fill his sippy cup with heavily chlorinated water...). We go with a my friend who has a little girl 3 months younger and they were both being really cute with each other at lunch yesterday - grabbing and head butting and attempted nose sucking... it's a match made in heaven .

Also, another of my friends just had her first baby on Sunday (not an April fool ). Can't wait to go and see her and her babe, if I wasn't so tired I might even be broody...

IamBlossom · 03/04/2007 14:04

Afternoon all.

I get really disappointed when I have finished reading everyone's posts, I only really come on here to read yours, and alothough I foray into the other bits it's you guys I look forward to reading!

CeeBee, poor Josh, hope the doc can help. I do sympathise with the work thing, when I went back to work after DS1 he got everything going, and in the end DH had to take time off work to look after him it was a nightmare.....

Bless all the clever babies! All this commando crawling and waving and french kissing! Such talent! And Roshi is a right chatter box KZ! I know what you mean about deciding what to post, I have to make up my mind what boring minutiae of my day is potentially entertaining!! You'' like this - I made, for the first time ever, an omelette yesterday, for DS1, with mushrooms, cheese, ham and peas. He ate the lot and asked for more. I was so proud!! My friends were wetting themsleves at my beaming face, but that is a huge thing for me!!

Maewest, LOL at putting pool water in DS's sippy cup, Tony flatlyrefuses to drink water from them although I continue to offer it. He stinks of fish today, as he had cod for lunch. My mum "looked" after them both this morning as I had to go back to the dentist, and I came back to find DS1 running amok with all her wooden spoons with no clothes on (she hadn't helped him on the loo and it had spilled onto his pants and tros, and he didn't want to keep just his top on apparently) Toby having lunch (at 11am!!!!) with an enormous pooey nappy she hadn't changed. Bless her. The house looked like Beirut and she looked frazzled. How did she ever have 3 under 5????

Anyway, time for lunch.

AnnieOleTing · 03/04/2007 14:34

Afternoon, ladies and babies,

Bloss, LOL at your mum!! Sounds like a great day out in London. Did you spot anyone famous?

Ceebee, hope Josh is better. COngrats on his 8 month check!

KZ hope Roshi is better too. Look at her all waving and talking!

HC hope you are feeling a bit better. I bought some new vests for DS at the weekend, and they were Humphry's Corner, so I was thinking of you!

Kayley is now trying to stand up... She'll grab hold of my legs, or a chair, and pull herself up, in the cot as well. She gets so delighted when she gets up she starts bounced and promptly falls back down on her bum! And she has also started clapping very politely, holding one hand still and clapping it with the other. Absolutely delighted with herself.

Had a lovely day in the park on Sunday, then a lovely afternoon in the beer garden yesterday. K just slept in her pram, and DS was kept amused by hummous and breadsticks, then a plastic giraffe and a little bowl of water... I love summer!!!

Better go girls!

Hi Girls - sorry I?ve not been on for so long, I just seem to be rubbish at getting it together to compose posts at the moment. I always want to reply to everyone but it takes me too long to catch up so I end up leaving it until I?ve got more time which is useless! Work?s getting busier, and my ?days off? just seem to fly by in a ridiculous time warp - where does it go??!

Bloss - I always laugh when you call him Tony, was it a name you secretly fancied calling him ? Well done on the omelette success! And lovely pics (sorry that was weeks ago you posted them though, wasn?t it!)

Ceebee - poor Josh (and you), hope you can get to the doc?s and that they can do something, very stressful what with work as well . Well done on the baby-proofing, I haven?t done any yet, she has only just mastered sitting and STILL hates tummy time!

Twinkle - aaaaw re the blowing kisses, how clever!

Impy - hope the mastitis is getting better now, sounds horrible, did you get fluey symptoms with it as well?

Mae - maybe swilling his cup with Milton sterilising tablets will do the job instead of pool water, smells v similar!

Kayzed - hope Roshi is on the mend soon. V clever girl by the sound of it, she?s such a sweetie

HC - hope the lump has subsided now. Sorry ?bout the misunderstanding (salivary gland, wtf )! Well done on the shiny stone. Hope you?re feeling a bit better soon. Don?t know what your GP or HV?s are like (I know some are no help at all) but may be worth a go? I had quite a good HV who talked me through things when I was having a bad time a few weeks ago when I went back to work and had the worries about Emma?s weight etc. It was actually quite helpful although I wasn?t sure it would be at the time. Hugs anyway xx

Pretty - sorry about the driving test, it?s so annoying isn?t it. I took three tests myself, keep at it hun, you?ll get there

Us - how?s Zack now? Your HV doesn?t sound very supportive, she should be trying to help not tutting, surely. It?s horrible when they lose weight isn?t it

Got Emma weighed last week - two weeks before her graph had dipped right off the chart, it has now gone up a bit so the dot just touched the bottom centile line, so that?s a bit better. She?s 14lbs 4oz, (and about 67cm high according to my probably dodgy home measuring). Her height has stayed on the 25th height centile quite well since she was born, so at least she?s not shrinking lengthways

Have FINALLY got into some sort of vague routine, which is (very vaguely):
8am (ish) BF
10.30am breakfast (Ready Brek, bananacado)
11.00 BF or Rice Milk (or both)
11.30 nap (anything from 20 mins to 1.5 hours)
1.00 BF
3.30 tea - some sort of savoury solids, eg 3/4 small jar Hipp Turkey & Veg, followed by ½ banana
4.00 BF / bottle of expressed milk
4.30 nap (anything from 20 mins to 1.5 hours)
6.45 BF
7.15 dinner - savoury solids eg 3/4 jar Hipp Lanc Hotpot (or some sort of equivalent home-made mush)
7.30 bed
11.00 dream feed BF

She normally gets very tired about 5.30pm especially if she has been at nursery (where she does minimal napping), so sometimes she has a short nap then, otherwise I try to keep her up till bed-time. She is kind of sleeping through at the mo, lots of waking (and shouts through the baby monitor) but usually puts herself back to sleep, so is generally bliss compared to what she was like a few weeks ago when only milk would do.

She seems to be taking less milk, or at least my supply seems to be drying up a bit, I?m having real trouble expressing even an ounce at a time now, which is very tedious as I need to express at least 10oz a week for nursery. Which would be fine if she could have formula instead, but of course she can?t, at least until she has seen the paed which is a week on Monday and they can hopefully do some allergy testing.

Well better get on, hi to everyone else and sorry I?ve missed loads of people this time, but am thinking of you all xx

HumphreysYummyChoccyEggCorner · 03/04/2007 17:58

Afternoon ladies

First-nice to hear from you. My small lump is still there so now convinced I have something terrible. Have probably had it years. Funny thing is-DH won't go anywhere near me now so pressure's off in that department! Sophie has hardly any milk and tonight she was shattered at 5-15pm so has gone to bed-bless her. Sympathise with the expressing-haven't done any this year as it takes 7 attempts (7 days) to get 7 oz.

Annie-I can't see your pics. Sounds like a real nice time spent.

Bloss-lol at your mum. What a riot

Well, have hung two orange stained bibs on the line so am hoping in 7 days they will be stain free. Will report back.

My Manager still hasn't phoned and am out all day tomorrow and most of Thursday. I am going to have to down a bottle of Blossom Hill and phone her after Easter.

Must get me some tea but need another glass of wine for medicinal purposes. Have put the bottle in the freezer so it is ice cold to soothe my sore throat.

Hugs to all

IamBlossom · 03/04/2007 20:33

HC, poor you and your poorly throat, big hugs babe. Enjoy your wine.

First - very nice to hear from you! Major kudos to you for your expressing, Emma is lucky to have such a great Mum, and I am really glad that she is sleeping so much better. Perhaps she could tell Zack, Dom and all other non-sleeping babies how to do it...DH is watching the footie, yaaaaaawn....

The only reason I say Tony instead of Toby is because the N and the B are next to each other on the keyboard, thankyou ladies, as you well know, and my typing is tres lazy!!

KZ, she's going to be a high maintenance chick that one, sign of high intelligence, good on her. Poor you though. Hugs.

kayzed-Roshi sounds suspiciously like my DD1

Think I will visit the GP after Easter.

just a quick post to say hi to everyone.
chaos here as kitchen fitters are in this week, know its going to be worth it in the end but house is such a mess and we have things all over the place.
Charlotte hasnt been well since thursday night when she was up 3 times being sick and now she has terrible cold, she looks so miserable, just staring into space then starts to cry once she remembers how bad she is feeling. shes hardly eating but is taking a little milk so hopefully is having enough. its horrible not being able to get out though, been very long days for me, thinking of asking mil to look after dd on sat so i can get house back to normal and get a bit of a break.

sorry was only to be a quick post and ive just ranted about my probs
