Oh Hi to everyone. (waves back to everyone.)

ImpyChica · 27/03/2007 16:39

Oh HC - you and your rabbit and biting lumps off - too funny! (Though you should get the lump checked out) What's going on with your DH though? Is it some ridiculous male pride thing, not wanting help with the kitchen tiling? And I hope you're not wearing his big white y-fronts to paint the chairs.... (oh and gorgeous pic of your girls too!)

pretty - can't believe Junior's already trying to walk! Ryan is so lazy in comparison!

Hope Jake's ok, Koska.

Hello SoHappy. Glad your little one is doing so well.

Twinkle- Hadn't even thought about dentists.... cripes! Not sure how the system works in Spain....

Gorgeous photos Wallace - makes me want to grab a camper van and take my little man over there!

Hope the puking has calmed down KamiKayzed

Hi SKay!

How's the sleep going Bloss? I keep trying to ignore Ryan in the night too - but in the end it's easier to just get up and feed him (wimp emotion). I can't believe he's nearly nine months and still has freak out nights where he wakes up every four hours. We had a week of him sleeping good 10 hour stretches last week but it's all gone to pot again. Knackering. His day napping is all over the place - he hasn't wanted to sleep much during the day for weeks and weeks - but today is making up for lost time and has had two lots of two hours siestas - must be sickening for something, poor mite.

Hi to everyone else...

Another question to chuck into the ring for you lovely ladies to offer your wisdom on.... any tips on getting rid of the post-baby tummy? Someone actually asked if I was pregnant last week (mortifying). I hadn't wanted to exercise initially as I had a c-section and didn't want to rip open (um.... nice mental image!) but I can't use that as an excuse anymore. Or should I just buy a corset???

Hugs all, Impy x

So, where are all the missing mummies?

IamBlossom · 27/03/2007 20:26

Evening ladeez.

Hi Annie, and Impy - well sleep is going very well! The little poppet still woke up at 4.30am but just chuntered away, remembered Mummy doesn't come in and give him milk at this ungodly hour anymore and went back to sleep! Consequently DS1 didn't get woken up and the Blossom family woke up at the perfectly civilised hour of 6.30am!!! I have heard that these things take 3 mornings/days and Toby has proved that right. it is total hell in the first two, and you think that this is never going to get better and then they get the hang of it and you are away! Have to stick to your guns through totally unsupportive DH's and sleeplessness but we seem (fingers crossed) to have cracked it....(probably go tits up tomorrow )

Hi Koshka sweetheart, great to hear from you.

oooh some old skool names in that roll call, I wonder if they still check in???

Impy - my friend who has two boys also, slimmed down brilliantly after her second one, who is now 18 months, but her spare tyres unfortunately remained in a completely "I am about 4 months pregnant" shape. She often gets congratulated on expecting again, which mortified her, and in fact on Friday someone asked me "Is Gill expecting again?" and I replied no, so they were glad they had checked with me first. The irony of that being that this morning, she told me she did a test on Friday afternoon, and she is pregnant again! But only about 4 weeks so nowhere near showing! So exciting! So to answer your question, the only thing I can think of is loads of sit ups and a mental gear shift to accepting that since kids our bodies will never be the same again. I now weigh the same as pre preg and can get into all my old clothes but I deffo don't look the same in them and have two very definite spare rolls over all my jeans which I would have to be a complete gym bunny to remove. oh well, got two beautiful boys to show for it...had a lovely afternoon at the beach on our local lake.

Bye for now.

PS, you crack me up, Wallace I was ROFL at you ROFL.....xxx

Ceebee74 · 27/03/2007 20:34

Mae ? how did the swimming go? I haven?t taken Josh for about 2 months now cos of his cold ? was going to take him this week but Af arrived and I don?t like swimming then.

HC ? you dark horse with your rabbit ? my opinion of you has completely changed! And WELL DONE on your stone

KZ ? hope Roshi has been ok today and no more puking. Josh still has 3-4 naps a day totally on average 3 hours (the lazy boy!) although on nursery days he only has a maximum of 2 so he can cope with less.

Wallace ? another fab photo ? we visited Loch Garten a lot when we were on holidays as my brother is an avid birdwatcher (or twitcher ) so we got dragged along too.

Impy ? I had a c-section and started going back to the gym after 3 months ? was pretty much back to my old workouts within a couple of weeks, including stomach exercises so if you build it up slowly, it should be fine by now.

I cannot believe how many mums-to-be there was on the ante-natal thread ? where have they all gone?? Do they post about their birth etc or have they all just disappeared?

Well, Josh has been in an extremely happy mood for the last 2 days and it has been wonderful being with him ? he has always been a very happy boy but as he has stopped the puking and his cold is pretty much clearing up (apart from the cough!) I assume he must be feeling much better in himself! Took him into work today to show him off and everyone remarked about what a happy boy he was plus they all laughed at his combat crawling ? does anyone know if he will learn to crawl properly or whether he will permanently combat crawl (the front of his clothes and his sleeves are filthy by the end of the day ) ??

Tried him with crumpet pizza today ? not impressed as he kept throwing it on the floor ? ah well, I tried the other half and it tasted quite yummy

Have good evenings all ? back to work for me tomorrow x

Ceebee74 · 27/03/2007 20:38

Bloss - what gorgeous boys you have and what a lovely sandy beach - didn't think there were many of those in this country

Glad you have cracked the sleeping - you will be like a new woman

MaeWest · 27/03/2007 20:45

CeeBee - swimming was great, both enjoyed it. Weird thing was, DS really zoned out in the water, really calm, whereas other babies were splashing about and getting excited. No mega long nap afterwards, but heyho, the most he has in the day is about 90 mins (spread over 2 naps) occasionally adding in another 45 mins to his morning nap.

Really of all those beach pics, I want to go to the seaside And I know that most of them are lakes, but YKWIM... Seeing as you're all posting pics, better show off a bit myself here

Oh kayzed-Roshi is so grown up compared to Sophie. Just think how lovely her hair will be if left to get longer. Cute little bunches. Going to take Sophie to be weighed next week as I sat her on the scales and she doesn't seem to have gained. Have upped food to a full jar today.

Bloss-your boys are lovely and what a superb place to go and play. Wonder how long you got to sit on that chair?

Maewest-such a cutie pie.

Time for bed as was up late last night-couldn't sleep though.

CB started back at work in January around the same time as me, didn't you CB? How are you finding it now btw?

More lovely pics everyone - I must dig out some more of my little man to show off.

hc - great pic of your beautiful girls congrats on losing that stone. ive been eating better this week, had been really bad last few weeks and put on 2lbs but have lost that now - total 9lbs must stay focused but doubt the tummy will ever go. hope you feeling better too. btw is dh just super annoying you at the mo?

bloss - well done on your determination on the sleeping front, what cuties your boys are

cb - josh sounds so cute doing his combat crawling

maewest - another cutie, great pics

kz - lovely pics of roshi, charlotte has lots of hair too and i tied it up for the first time the other day, was fed up putting hairclip back in all the time (its in her eyes otherwise) will have to get a photo on soon

well, we have a tooth here at last still no crawling yet but she is sitting really well now, much easier for putting her in highchairs when out and about as most dont have much support at all

charlotte is just loving our baby signing group we go to, she gets so excited when we sing 'dingle dangle scarecrow' (her fave)so cute!!

well trying to get kitchen sorted out as get new kitchen fitted on monday . been trying to clear out cupboards so i can just throw everything into boxes on sunday ready for monday, annoying charlotte and i will be stuck in house next week but will be worth it in the end

have a good night ladies and babies xx

HumphreysYummyChoccyEggCorner · 28/03/2007 09:48

Morning all

Beadmum-9 lbs is brilliant. Remember that stage well and how good it felt. Yep-DH is dragging me down at the mo-ho hum. He did actually ask if we were alright so I said yes. Feels a tad like living in a Groundhog Day world. It will pass I'm sure.

Really foggy here again today. DH has gone on a course to Stoke.

Sophie has got another cold-at least it is a few weeks since the last one. Her nose is steaming so might have to stuff 2 bits of loo roll up her nostrils.

Better get on as off into town and DD1 still in her PJ's

Have a good day.

IamBlossom · 28/03/2007 13:32

Hi all.

Hi Beadmum, DS1 alwasys loved that song too! Good luck with the move.

Dentist this morning, had a filling, he convinced me to have a white one, which cost £75!!! had to have 3 injections, he said I had remarkably sensitive teeth (not sure if that is a good thng!) and am now trying to eat a bagel on one side of my mouth very slowly, good for the diet!

Got paid again today!!!! Every month I say to DH that's the last one, gotta be, but every month I seem to be getting tax rebates! Bloody marvellous! It will pay for the Thomas the Tank Engine Day we are doing on the 14th April, check it out... Thomas DS1 is going to wet his pants in excitement!!!

Back to that beach again this avo I think, none of myfriends are out to play this week, chicken pox, puke bugs etc...

Ciao

Bloss

AnnieOleTing · 28/03/2007 14:56

Afternoon All,

Is it just me or is it really hot? I'm sweltering away here. Had another puking sesh last night, so still feel a bit delicate today. Poor me. Didn't actually get to work today until 10.50... I blamed the trains, but in actual fact it was the ticket machine wouldn't give me a ticket, but I didn't want it to sound like it was my fault!! Still, have managed to get nearly everything done, and even found time to come on here!

Bloss, well done you with the sleep thing. What a result! Really must do something about it now with Kayley. I think she woke three times last night, one time I fed her, and then had to throw her over to DH while I legged it to the bog. Nice huh. How long has Toby been in his own room?
That Thomas thing looks great!! My sis did that with her two a few years back, and my God did they get excited!! Have fun at the beach, with your two gorgeous boys.

HC Poor ole Sophie, I hope she's better soon. (That was me by the way, Annie29, in my younger days. Maybe I'll stick to being 29, rather than 'over 30')
The in-laws haven't been too bad. I was just feeling rough last night, so I just let them at it. FIL is most annoying at the moment, he keeps telling me what DS and K are doing, as if I don't have eyes, and imitating them. Just me being silly I know.

Altogether now Beadmum: I'm a dingle dangle scarecrow with a flippy floppy hat, I can shake my hands like this.......

KZ Roshi is such a beawt!! My FIL claims Kayley will be standing in two weeks, as she does that Down Dog thing too, and of course he knows everything so your Roshi will be too. As for her hair!! It's so lovely as it is.

Best go, stomach cramp...

Annie

prettymum · 28/03/2007 15:34

ladies i failed my test again!

i forgot to put brake handle down twice, once leaving test center and the other during 3 point turn!

and i was doing really well!

Lysettes · 28/03/2007 17:33

pretty {{{{{{{hugs}}}}}}}}

beadmum i haven't had any tax rebates since i stopped paid mat leave! hopefully that means a nice big cheque fro mthe tax man when i've don't my tax return.

just a wuick post as haven't had a chance to go through the hundreds of posts!

i had a terrible virus over the weekend - burning up and shivering on friday night coupled with nasty bumpy red rash all over me, which went and then came back over the weekend. and then swollen hands! docs have taken blood to see what it was. at least jacob hasn't caught it so that's good.

just packing all our things and preparing for the packers on friday

it's all a bit fraught here although jacob is now sitting on his own really well and eating much better - he won't eat any dinner now i've said that!

will come back on later and impy hello and welcome back!

xxx

IamBlossom · 28/03/2007 19:29

Good luck with the ove Lysettes! Altogether now, deeeeeep breath, caaaaaaalm thoughts.

Sorry you are feeling poorly Annie! Hugs.

Pretty Mum, oh what a bugger, poor you, all the best people fail, better luck next time.

KZ, forgot to mention that not-so-teeny weeny Queen Rosheeny is super super gorgeous in those photos, I especially love the second one, fab outfit and isn't she clever? It must be so weird having a female version of DS. Yes, Toby does look a bit like H as a baby, but then again completely different. He is such a lamb still, off he goes to sleep with a last glance up at me to beam me a smile, then turns his head to start snoring. Then DS1 gives me a last hug goodnight and whispers in my ear "Big love Mama. I love you with Big Love." I don't mind saying I had tears in my eyes.

Relations between Dh and DS1 are now back to normal, hero worship status thank god.

Aprrentice tonight, do you watch that HC? My Dh does that too by the way, the "Are we allright?" comment, my anser is always the affirmative, as I know we are really, depsite whatever the row is about that week...

Please let's not have another round of illness yet - we haven't recovered from the last lot yet! Leo is still so miserable and clingy from his injections last thursday. He won't be put down for more than a minute [tearing hair out emoticon]

prettymum - oh no..poor you {{{{hugs}}}}

lysettes - that sounds awful!

bloss - we've done that day out with thomas. It is great your big ds will love it

beadmum - I still have things in boxes in our sitting room and we got our new kitchen in feb

kayzed - love the photos. Was admiring the clothes. How cool to be able to keep them on for tomorrow too I usually get Leo out of his baby grow now if we are going out, but if it is cold I just put dungarees on top And see - I told you to get her measured because I knew she must be tall too! What weight was she BTW?

maewest - gorgeous photos. In the one of him asleep he looks so peaceful - and sooo cheeky in the other

ceebee - I can't believe how many of you have been to Loch Garten. I have lived so close for almost 20 years and this was my first time We usually go to Loch Morlich or a smaller secluded "secret" loch

Bloss - lovely photos Can't believe it is only March and we are all already showing off our Beach photos - how cool is that!

Impy - I found my body didn't get back to normal (ish) until dd was 4 years old

Koshka - Hi

twinkle - if you come up we must meet up! That would be such fun We have a council house as we can't afford to buy. Maybe one day Leo is registered with an NHS dentist and has even had his first check up. He just went along with the other two.

HC - very cute photo. Your house looks lovely and homely

HumphreysYummyChoccyEggCorner · 28/03/2007 21:01

prettymum-oh hun. Sorry to hear you didn't pass this time. If you book now you can usually retest in less than a month. ((xx))

kayzed and Annie-sorry you two are feeling poorly. Have an early night if you can and no MN tonight.

Beadmum-forgot to mention your kitchen. How wonderful will that be

Lysettes-you haven't got time to be ill with all that packing to do. Hope it goes OK and you feel on tip top form.

Bloss and Lysettes-your spelling is abominable. 50 lines each 'I will learn how to spell properly'

Bloss-have never watched The Apprentice but am going to give it a try followed by Desperate Housewives so I can dream about Dougray Scott sweeping me off my feet.

Sophie is dribbling like a trooper so will have to search for possible new teeth.

Hugs to all.

MaeWest · 29/03/2007 09:26

Morning all . Thanks for nice comments about the boy. Loving all your photos too - Roshi looks so grown up KZ.

prettymum - I took 3 goes to pass my test (on my first test I was so terrible that I didn't just get major faults I got a D for dangerous ).

wallace - on weekdays DS tends to stay in babygro until after his morning nap, unless we are going out early. On a weekend he can sometimes stay in it all day... Someone said to me early on (when he was about 6 weeks old?) 'Oh, you need to make sure that you put them into daytime clothes so that they know that it's daytime' Eh? Can babies really tell the diff between and cotton baby gro and a cotton tshirt and tracky bottoms?

Well, DS is still waking me up at 5amish, but this morning he then went back to sleep until nearly 8. Shame he also woke me at midnight, but he only had 30 mins nap yesterday so think that's why. He always seems to be more disturbed if he doesn't sleep in the day. Also if his morning nap goes belly-up no more daytime sleep is forthcoming. Which means the afternoon is spent with a seriously clingy baby. One thing tho - he is finally rolling all the way over. Have had to put the change mat down on the floor, too risky to be up high!
