Oh, remember the film Calendar Girls. Think they might have been the local WI making jam and cakes for stalls as well as posing in the buff for charity.

IamBlossom · 13/03/2007 11:40

Leo is a beaut.

Hi Algach [waves] I second KZ on an ORDER that you post a wedding pic or five. PLEEEEASE???

Well staying over at my friends house was fu, DS1 had a ball, and is totally exhausted. I spend alot of time with this friend and her kids, but spending an entire evening and a morning with them has made me realise how strict I am with my boys! She lets her kids get away with blue murder! i, the 3 year old doesn't have a bed time, just falls asleep on the sofa and is carried upstairs, they watch tv while they are eating, etc etc. God I sound like a right Nazi don't I?

It is bliss to be home, DS1 is in bed exhausted, and Toby is asleep in the car so time to catch up on all the posts!

Hi Lysettes, welcome back. hi Madness, Twink and F@F. Hi everyone in fact!

Gorge day, off for a walk round the lake later.

Got home to a £50 premuium bond, yay!

KZ, we do sound similar in so many ways - weird. DH and I have been together 16 years, met when I was 16 in a cheesy night club, and our relationship has surviced 2 years of boarding school (me) 3 years of Uni (me) 1 year of travelling (me), and 1 year of travelling together. And now we are surviving two small children! I know him inside out, but we still have to work on it everyday. Still fancy him rotten though which helps! He was very touched by the "Night night Daddy we love you" note I left on his pillow to find last night.

Right gotta get some lunch down me before kids get up. Sorry if I've missed anyone.

Wallace, what a gorgeous picture of Leo!! Kayley sticks her tongue out all the time too, she's very cheeky lookin' when she does.

Bloss, don't forget Toby is still asleep outside in the car... [waves frantically at bloss]

Hi to everyone else.
Sleep is getting a bit better here too, though she still wakes at least twice during the night. She has started waving like the queen now, you know, one hand slowing waving, which she finds very amusing. Ds also finds her very amusing, when I put her down on the floor, she tries to stand for a few seconds, and he comes running to knock her over!! She's still not quite crawling, but making good shapes at it.

One good thing about being at work, is getting home, DS hears the key in the door, and comes legging it down the hallway for a big cuddle!! I love it! And Kayley has the biggest smile of the day when I get in!! Aw!!!

Well better go, work isn't going to do itself I guess.
Have a good day everyone

Lucky you two getting married, Algach and Pavlov. ENJOY!!!

madness- juniors like alex, crawling backwrds and ending up getting stuck between something and whinging!

i am on 2 weeks holiday from and on sunday was chatting online to a work mate. saturday m$orning there was an attempted armed robbery in our workplace. there was one girl on the shop floor at 7am and she hadnt locked the door properly and 2 guys came in and held a gun to her head. but luckily they left without harming anyone and with no money. this area is geting so bad (peckham) we had 3 robberies last summer and in few local banks too! just so scary!!

better go junior whinging and coughing like he's ready to throw up his lunch!

PavlovtheCat · 13/03/2007 14:48

prettymum, thats awful .

My DP thinks WI - women's institute - is mainly a bunch of old gossips getting together! Hence MN being contempoary version of...i cant see where he gets that idea from

PavlovtheCat · 13/03/2007 14:53

LO has gone off her food last two days. She also has a horrid cough. Last night would not settle so I said balls to the pu/pd plan and she came to bed with us. She immediately curled right into me, looked into my eyes, fell asleep. aw. Then 10 mins later, shifted, tossed and turned, liker her ma, and finally went to sleep horizontally in the bed .

Oh, something funny. We have the travel cot in the bedroom for morning playtime. DD can just about reach the top of the cot with her hands now. Yesterday, in desperation trying to get out/get our attention, she pulls herself up and 'scrambles' her feet up the side of the cot like she is shimmying a wall. Highly amusing and quite scary as I did not think she should be strong enough to do that yet! .

PavlovtheCat · 13/03/2007 17:48

LO back on food, of sorts. Made fish pie x 6 for freezer, one for this evening. Went down a treat, along with cooked chips of butternut squash and courgette.
Now fast asleep in my arms after unusual request for bf. however had final pneumacocal (sp) booster imm today so feeling sorry for herself. Sleeping regine out the window again tonight methinks .

Beach was loverly. DD crawled in the sand, tried to eat som shells. Chucked a pile of sand over nurse's floor from her shoes tho...ha ha, that'll teach her for being a baby jabber hehe

Wallace · 13/03/2007 19:37

Glad you all liked the photo, he is gorgeous even if I say so myself

prettymum - Leo does that playing with his own vomit thing as well. Bleurgh.

kayzed - what did Roshi weigh today?

F@F - so glad for you that the sleeping has come together, and she is happy at nursery

twinkle - maybe he is trying to say cat. Our dog is called Ellie and sometimes it souns so much like Leo is saying it.

madness - I somehow missed that you have been moving! Well done on the backwards crawling - i remember ds1 doing this and getting so annoyed that he was getting further away from where he was trying to go!

Lysettes - Leo is like that too, he even sticks the dog in his mouth I sometimes think he has his tongue out in readiness in case anything should come near enough

Pavlov - A smile like this? Glad the eating is getting better, and wow at the scrambling in the cot. Beach sounds fab Cake anyone?

Bloss - think you are right - kids need routine! Lucky you with your 50 quid

Annie - this is a great age isn't it? they are just so cute

Ceebee74 · 13/03/2007 20:05

Hey ladies - been at my parents for a few days - read all the posts but have forgotten who said what

Wallace - fab photos of Leo - he seems such a happy baby.

Not much to report - Josh seems to be improving slightly - still snuffly and got gunky eyes, coughing occasionally but the puking seems to have lessened (can't say stopped unfortunately) and my mum gave him a little bit of toast yesterday and half a rich tea biccy today and so far so good - although he has just scared the life out of me. Just settling to write this post and he suddenly started properly screaming - rushed upstairs, picked him up and he was inconsolable and wouldn't stop - it sounded like he was in pain so I managed to pour some calpol into his mouth, put his dummy in and he went back to sleep on the changing mat as if he had never been awake - strange! See how long it lasts - he has been particularly grumpy this afternoon but I put it down to tiredness (at least I hope that is all it is)

IamBlossom · 13/03/2007 20:26

CeeBee Toby did that the night before last. Sounded like he had been stung with a wasp, down the monitor. I put it down to him being too hot. He was a bit clammy when I picked him up and I had put a blanket on him, over his gro-bag in addition to his vest and PJs....too hot I think. Settled him, and took the blanket off and he was fine after that....Teething can do funny things to them too, seem to remember DS1 having screamy fits in his sleep during teething.....Who the f* knows, wish they could write it down or something....

Thanks for the prompt Annie! I do check him very frequently when he is asleep in the shade of our driveway (which is private and no passing traffic, either pedestrian or vehicular BTW)

On that note, the friend I stayed with last night has a DH that is a Sales Director for Britax. I asked her about when it is ok for LOs to go into front facing seats as I had forgotten from DS1 (as in, do they HAVE to wait till 9 months etc) and she said her husband has read enough and seen enough in his job to never put a baby in one before a year. Obviously there are exceptions I suppose, but he said that he read research the other day on a 7 month old who was in one, and in a high impact crash, the baby's head actually came away from it's spine! Sorry for the grisly image, but it has stopped me considering it for Toby, and he is a very heavy weight to carry around in a baby chair....apparently their neck control is just not strong enough before they are 9-12 months and on balance it is better to have two broken legs than a broken neck.....

Apologies to depress anyone!

On a brighter note, the lake walk was divine this afternoo, and it was good to get DS1 out of the house, as he was VERY tired and driving me mental........conked out at 6.15pm this evening during his bedtime story.....

Right, tea and bikkies before last part of Fallen Angel, you watching that HC?

I'm a member of the fulham WI lookhere

jacob is drooling today like no one's business, and really really really in a bad mood. can't be put down, had to resort to medised this evening after holding off all day.

bonjela didn't do anything at all.

the big news here is that we exchanged on our sale today, so now i have to find somewhere for us to rent before the end of the month while we carry on looking for somewhere to buy. am at the mercy of estate agents....

o'h and jacob plays with his vomit as well

Wallace · 13/03/2007 20:36

Leo does the screamy hting too

I agree Bloss about the car seat thing. Don't forget that even if they are too heavy to carry around in the baby seat you can leave it in the car I have just moved Leo into a rear facing combination seat that goes up to the age of four. He looks so much more comfortable that in his infant carrier. His baby seat only went up to 10kg and I have a feeling he may be more than this! I am going to keep him rear facing for as long as possible.

Wallace · 13/03/2007 20:41

Lol lysettes at WI! Where Ilive it is WRI (rural). And hooray at the sale!

Poor baby (and you!), hope the medised works...

An illustration of how badly Leo sleeps at the moment. I put him down about 6:45 tonight and he has already woken up twice

Lysettes · 13/03/2007 20:48

i was on the committee that started the Fulham WI - we got loads of approaches to do a "sloaney" calendar girls....we also got into trouble with the national committee for our second christmas ball that was themed the north pole dance and had (surprise surprise) pole dancers as entertainment - they kept all their clothes on and it was actually very entertaining - not just for the guys! we raised a lot of money for charity that year with massive ticket sales

Ceebee74 · 13/03/2007 20:48

Lysettes - couldn't see the website for some reason

Bloss - I am with you on the car seat aswell - I assumed it was when they hit 9kg but although he is not far off that, Josh hasn't outgrown his lengthwise yet and tbh, we really could do without spending the £150 at the moment so I am trying to put it off - glad you have now given me a valid reason for delaying! I stopped carrying Josh in his seat months ago - it just stays in the car. Am worried about my friend who put her DS in a front facing seat at 4 months - why oh why oh why??

Ceebee74 · 13/03/2007 20:50

And Bloss - I too wish they could write it down or tell you - so frustrating when they just scream in your face and you have no idea why!!

Crikey-as you know I put tiny Sophie in the front facing seat weeks ago. Was pulling my back so. Oh, what to do?

Bloss-I forgot it was on and missed the first episode so hoping to catch it when it is repeated.

Ceebee-back on track

Night ladies. Can't wait to go to bed for another night of coughing then running to the loo before I wet myself. Damned pelvic floor. My cough is the worst ever, tis nearly making me sick with the force of each cough. GGGRRRHHH!!!

Morning girls!

What beautiful weather we've been having!

Dh took the two oldest girls to the woods on monday afternoon. And yesterday I went with a friend and her 2 youngest + my 3 for a lovely picnic by the lake. It was lovely, all the daffs were out. We had a lovely afternoon.

Have tried to catch up on all your posts, but there are sooo many and I haven't been the most frequent visitor here at the moment .

Haven't forgotton you tho girls, just been busy homeschooling the girls during the day and shattered in the evenings. There are simply not enough hours in the day for a mummy of 3 under 5 girls.

Well, Jazz was 8 months yeasterday and she is still not sitting. Please tell me she is not the only one! She is still so tiny tho, was wandering if any of you with small babies (r they sitting yet?).
Do you think it makes a difference if they are bit bulkier?

Her speaking is coming along tho. Has been saying DaDa for a while, she says it most of the time, but when daddy is here she actually looks at him and says it. Also (and i'm sure this is a fluke!) she has started to say "ta" when I give her stuff. She says it nearly every time. It's ever so sweet.

Off in to town today to buy my lovely mummy some lush bath stuff, dont forget mothers day on sunday girls! Have heavily hinted at my oldest, who is now 4 so quite old enough to treat mummy to something I think.

Kz i'm sure roshi is doing well. Dont worry about her weight. She's just a little pudding like my Soph was (and she is actually slighty underweight for her age now, she's short aswell tho). I am sure roshi will slim down once she's running around. - Goodness - I hope Jazz doesn't tho coz she'll disapear!

Well I will leave you in peace now girls. Have a fantastic day , looks like sun again! Yipee! I love that spring feeling, buds on the trees, sun in the sky........

Lysettes · 14/03/2007 10:12

pinkdolly jacob is only kind of sitting and he was really small (stil measured against corrected age 6 mths).

kz give us the recipe???? I have a friend coming for elevenses on friday and she bakes and bakes and bakes so i need something that will make me look domestic goddess like!
