May I take the liberty of starting a new thread ladies?

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
prettymum · 14/03/2007 10:46

pinkdolly- junior has been sitting from about 51/2 months, but he is a little chubby on.

god knows what he weighs, have been too lazy to take him to hv to get weighed, might do it tomorrow as dp on holiday too and he can keep dd.

kz- i wish junior had the same love for food as roshi does, he keeps slapping away the spoon the moment he sees it!

dd become so fussy about everything! she hates not wearing socks, last night as it was really hot i took them off after she fell asleep. this morning she started throwing a tantrum when she woke up and found she was bare foot!and she wont go anywhere without her rabbit! she like everything to be done in a specific way!

have a driving lesson at twelve, need to get sorted, hope evryone has a lovely day!

PavlovtheCat · 14/03/2007 14:09

prettymum - How old is DD? 4? Two of my friends have Los who are 4, and they acting just this way! Its rather amusing from the outside but I am reminding myself not to laugh as it will be my DD there soon enough!!

I have dropped LO off at nursery for her first full session. She did not even notice that I was going, so engrossed in playing! .

Great nights sleep last night, will remain sceptical tho as dont want to jinx it.
Slept from 8pm to 3:15am. BF and awake until 4am, put herself to sleep, woke at 7:15am!! YEY! I went to bed at 8pm too as I was knackered, not intending to, but fell asleep on bed, woke up with Dp messing up the baby monitor!

IamBlossom · 14/03/2007 14:20

good luck in driving lesson PM.

If you post recipe KZ, I will also attempt them......(cripes!) They sound heaven.

Toby has the pukes. Threw up everywehere at 3am, (why is it always 3am? and again this morning and just wants to sleep today, poor little man. loads of people have it apparently...
Got a parking ticket this morning so there goes the premium bond. easy come...........

PavlovtheCat · 14/03/2007 14:35

oh poor thing Blos -
KM - yes please for the recipe. They sounds delish!

I keep thinking I can hear DD crying after nap. Go to jump up and see to her, realise she is not here! I should really be tidying up/cooking DP a wonderful meal as he is working until 7pm, etc etc but I just cant be as*ed. I have however, just saved £10 per month and upgraded my cable as a result of losing Sky which I did not watch in the first place. AND got credited £25.00 for the 'hassle' of going onto DD, which I wanted to do anyway! LOL.
I also got £10 refunded from EDF for messing up, an inconvenience rather than cost! My DP says I eat them alive, but do it so nicely!

Wallace · 14/03/2007 20:32

Info on car seat safety www.car-safety.org/rearface.html It is an American site, but I think the only difference is that they recommend to keep a child rar-facing until 20lbs and 12 months. Also says it does mater if the child's legs are bent.

HC - ^^...there you go, a pelvic floor exercise reminder ;)

kayzed - don't worry about Roshi being too big! How about when you take her to get weighed you get her measured as well to see how tall she is? I bet she is tall or her age too

pink - your picnic sounds lovely. It is not quite spring up here yet. No daffs either. Don't worry about not sitting, I think Jazz is concentrating on her talking, so sweet

prettymum - it is so annoying when they take strops like that! Hope your driving lesson went well

Pavlov - Hope you get another good night's sleep ^^

Bloss - argh what a bugger! (both the parking ticket and the puking!)

Why won't my baby sleep He was up 3 times before I even went to bed last night, and five times before midnight and certainly didn't improve after that and [tired]

kayzed-as a serial migraine sufferer I am sending you virtual hands to massage your head. Have been to Tescos today to buy ingredients so I can be a Domestic Goddess on Mothers Day (also MIL's B'Day) I can't drink whisky any more as it hits a part of my head as soon as I take a swig and I used to live on it.

Wallace-lol Had a squeeze when I read your post. Try to remember by saying 'open door pelvic floor' but keep forgetting.

Bloss-what a bugger! Have had 3 parking tickets and the B**tards won't get me again.

prettymum-I have regular arguments with DD1 about what she does and doesn't want to wear. Told her that I decide what she is wearing and not her-wonder how long I will get away with that one.

Pavlov-you have worked monetary magic. Well done!

Well, Sophie had a 2 minute BF from one side then a bit later had 4 minutes on the other side and apart from milk on her cereal that is all the milk she has had today. Seems well enough so perhaps I shouldn't worry too much.

Can't stop yawning so 'time for bed' said Zebedee.

Love to all

xxx

PavlovtheCat · 14/03/2007 22:11

Lysettes - WI - Yey! He was right wasnt he? This is web version!! Especially as Kam has just given her recipe for Blueburry muffins, they are virtual cakes! ROFL.

Wallace - how old is your LO? I am on a thread 'sleep is for the weak' clue in the title! No guarantees of advice that will work, but lots of support and matchsticks for the eyes! My LO seems to be up and down, its so hard to know how/why/when it will all go smoothly, or up in the air. Last night was a great night, but I was awake most of it waiting for her to wake up!

Kam - sorry you got a migraine, hugs to you, get a good nights sleep I hope.

Blos- oh dear about the ticket . Not good at all, least it was 'free' so to speak .

PavlovtheCat · 14/03/2007 22:16

Nursery - my LO a little groucho all day mostly. She refused her snack, her tea, and went to sleep in protest after an angry shouting episode! She was fine within 5 mins of me picking her up . They promised it will get better tho. I am glad I did not call them to see how she was! She did have fun aswell tho apparantly. She took a bit of a shine to one of the carers and who went home just as I got there, she was not happy at that as had been playing well with her for ages, typical! I like that she chooses her own key worker. This one lady is likely to be her key worker if they get on again tomorrow.
The place is very tidy now though, as I had time and needed to take my mind of LO being without me and upset.

FirstAtForty · 14/03/2007 22:24

Hi Girls
Kayzed ? you are indeed domestic majestic!! I think you win the sparkly apron award of the week (facing hot competition from Prettymum in the Tidying category though)

Pink ? Emma is only just sitting properly, until this week she had to be surrounded by cushions at all times or she?d wobble and crash. She?s showing no signs of crawling, and rolling still really isn?t her thing either. Loads of verbal though!

Bloss ? how is Toby enjoying his activity centre? I bought one a couple of weeks ago, best investment for a long time I have to say, she loves it!

Emma sometimes suddenly squawks in her sleep too, think it may be related to nocturnal pooing

Lysettes, love the WI site, not at all frumpy!

Wallace ? hope you have a better night tonight (And everyone else with wakeful LO?s xxx )

FirstAtForty · 14/03/2007 22:29

hugs Pavlov, the nursery thing will get a lot easier once she's settled, good staff are the most important thing I think.

PavlovtheCat · 14/03/2007 22:31

Kam - I have a whole 7.5 hours without LO next wednesday. I am going to cook these muffins.

I am also going to leave the recipe lying around the kitchen on Saturday, have dropped heavy heavy hints that LO needs to bake mama a cake for mothers day.

PavlovtheCat · 14/03/2007 22:34

FirstatForty - I agree. The staff seem great. Very confident which I like, informative, gentle with the children, responsive. I took Lo to spend 2 hours with a childminder a few weeks ago, and she just did not seem confident enough, she kept asking me what she should have done, when I went to get LO, as she had cried a lot. I need to be told what they are doing, if that makes sense. I need to know that when I am not there, her needs will be met, and that they wont spend the day not knowing how to handle her behaviour. I feel confident, so far, that this the right place for her. I know it will get easier. I know that it will be good for her and that we need to let her expand her world. I just feel like I have let her down as I have been her world and she needs me! (I know, irrational!)

FirstAtForty · 14/03/2007 22:51

Pavlov ? I know what you mean re the confidence, I hadn?t really thought about it like that but the staff at Emma?s nursery are confident ? they tell me what she has been like, and how they reacted if there was a problem. They are very honest but they don?t tell me things so I will tell them what to do, it seems to be more so I am informed iyswim. They are very open to discussion about things and we often compare notes on her general mood, likes and dislikes etc which is quite nice. You won?t be letting your lo down, she does need you and she has you ? being at nursery won?t change that

PavlovtheCat · 14/03/2007 22:53

I am off to bed. Fingers crossed that LO does not wake up. She is due a BF at 11:00pm. I am hoping she sleeps through again!

Have a good night all x

prettymum · 14/03/2007 23:55

hey ladies!! junior crawled forwrd today!!! i was happy and i used dds toothbrush as bait as he's obsessed with it and he crawled!!! but he wouldnt crawl in the living room as we have floorboardsso a bit more difficult for him.

pav- dd is 2.6yrs now, shes so funny though! she wont sleep unless anything that is not meant to be on her cot is removed, if she notices teh iron in the bedroom she'll want to put it back in its right place!

wallace- hope you have a btter night!!

bloss- i have all them tickets to come when i pass my test in 2 weeks !

kz- hope your migraine has eased off!

oh yeah, dd pooed in the bath today! uurgghh

well gonna watch desperate housewives in a bit, will have to fight dp off telly (damn cricket championship started!) goodnight ladies and hopefully sleeping babies!!x

Beadmum · 14/03/2007 23:56

bloss - about the parking ticket, hope toby has better night tonight

pink - dd has only just got the hang of sitting recently (shes def not small tho - prob about 20lbs now), no speaking here yet tho, clever Jazz saying ta and dada, cant wait for that

prettymum - hope the driving lesson went well

wallace - hope ds has better sleep tonight so you at least get some sleep

kz - think i might have to try out that muffin recipe too, my diets going well

hc - good luck with the muffins on mothers day my mil would love it to be her birthday on mothers day so she could have all the attention as usual, im sure she'll still have a good try even though i feel i should get some too (first mothers day as a mum)

f@f & bloss - ive been looking at these activity centres too, was wondering whether they were worth getting, what age are they up to?

pavlov - nursery will get better, i used to work in a nursery and can honestly say its def harder on the parents than the babies

charlotte is being a menace with food these last few days. she used to eat really well but seems to want to continually blow raspberries while getting food now, def not finding this funny although being told 'no' she does find funny -aaarrrggg! she was doing well with finger foods so tried this but everything is thrown on the floor now, trying not to stress too much as she is drinking her milk so i know shes not starving. is anyone elses lo's doing this, do you think its a phase and she'll go back to eating again? always felt i was a chilled out mum but now im stressing out

also shes starting to cry whenever i leave the room so finding it hard to do anything around the house during the day, guess its that seperation anxiety thing kicking in, been feeling down about it cos she has been such a happy baby and now feel like ive got a different baby Those of you with toddlers, can you remember how long this takes to pass (years isnt it?)

sorry for all the moaning, better get off to bed. goodnight all xx

Beadmum · 14/03/2007 23:59

prettymum - congrats to junior, what a clever boy
have you passed on your tidiness to dd
good luck with your driving test in 2 weeks

prettymum · 15/03/2007 00:08

beadman- the thing is the more i clean the more messy the plce gets! during the daytime i let the place get messy because if i tidy dd will bring everything out again and junior is starting to pull all the toys out! so evening once theyre in bed i tidy and relax after.

this test will be my third- dont want to think about how much ive spent so far!

MaeWest · 15/03/2007 08:57

Hi all . Don't want to jinx anything but things seem to be settling down here (touch wood, crossed fingers, bucketfuls of salt etc). Last night DS woke at 11.30 after going down at 7.00. Gave him a quick bf and put him down in cot and left the room. Could hear whinging for a while but left him to it and he dozed off again until 5.30. Repeated the procedure and he slept for another hr, before waking me up to deal with his stinky nappy, bleugh. Still progresss I spose. I had thought that he'd put himself to sleep for his nap just now, but bit ambitious I think... squeals and moans in equal measure from the monitor. Better go and get him...

OP posts:
Lysettes · 15/03/2007 09:38

beadmum - another stressed out mummy here

i have had to resort to letting jacob yell in his cot this morning becuase i am so completely stressed out. he is teething and yelling and crying non stop (except for when he's at the creche or when dh is around). i was up every hour from midnight to 6am with him, despite medised, which doesn't seem to sedate him one little bit. am trying the ashtons powders which have been recommended on here but i can't get him to open his mouth, or when he does he's crying so hard he blows the powder all over his face and in his eyes.

have resorted to calpol again this morning which i hate doing as it's as if i'm just dosing him up but nothing is helping

some tips please ladies, am seriously losing my cool here

IamBlossom · 15/03/2007 14:23

Hmm, Lysettes, not sure what to suggest if medised didn't work, it always knocks my two out completely.....are you sure he took it in? You poor thing that sounds very rough.........

ok KZ, now I feel TERRIBLE for giving you a migraine with my car seat horror story. I'm really sorry, and will keep my opinions to myself in future.

Toby back to normal now, and also deigning to drink some milk.....

Gorge day here.....

xxx

IamBlossom · 15/03/2007 14:28

Haven't got it yet Beadmum, we get it on Monday, can't wait! Wish it was here for the weekend though, as I'm sure my parents could use it when they look after the boys for us on saturday night! It is from 6 months till they are 30 pounds........

Just a quickie.

Leo had his 8 month check up today (will be eight months on the 25th)

He is 10.5 kg (23lb3oz) and only on the 25th percentile for height (69cm) I do think his height may have been measured wrong though...

He passed the rest with flying colours
