May I take the liberty of starting a new thread ladies?

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
PavlovtheCat · 12/03/2007 17:44

that sounds wonderful Algach. I have never seen Gretna no, so I will go have a looksy now.
Wow you been together a long time! my DP and I have been together for 8 years this april. Like you, he knows me, loves me for me, and I likewise love him for him. Soppy too. Its great you feel that way after such a long time, means I am doing the right thing!
Wedding sounds great. How many children do you have, how old are they? I think I like the fact that LO is going to be there to be part of our wedding. We are a team, us three, and now I could not imagine our wedding without her there. Its funny, but its DP who says about us being a team the most, and he said first that the wedding is although about us two mostly, is about LO too as eh is part of us and makes us whole. AW

Blessing at anvil hall?

agalch · 12/03/2007 18:02

Pavlov

The Anvil-couples used to elope to Gretna when parents refused to give permission for then to marry. They were wed in the blacksmiths beside the anvil.Once they were married the anvil was struck.Well i think thats what happened,i could be wrong

We have 4 children. My eldest ds is 15.5 and he will be the best man.My ds2 is 11 and he is giving me away. Dd's are 2.5 and 7 months and they will cry/muck about and generally cause an uproar lol.

PavlovtheCat · 12/03/2007 18:03

Algach - it looks fab!

PavlovtheCat · 12/03/2007 18:05

re: children. Aw Algach . It sounds magical with the children being so invcolved! Sounds like you got a handful though with 4 LOs (and not so LO's!).

Lysettes · 12/03/2007 18:36

pavlov at your HV! what a ridiculous couple of statements to make!!!

we went to NZ for see PILs and then had a few days in singapore for rest on the way back. we are trying a particular timing schedule for the next couple of days to see if we can stretch him out to going to bed a little later and waking up a little later, iykwim

dp has been "requestinf" rests a lot more..... doesn't seem to get it into his head that when i'm getting up at 3 in the morning because jacob wants to play because he's jet lagged the last thing i want is sex!!!!!!! and to top it all i put on loads of weight at the start of the holiday so i'm not feeling particularly sexy either! sorry tmi back at the gym proper this week and it seems to be helping the wobble go a bit.

Wallace · 12/03/2007 20:19

agalch - not long to go now! We went to a friends' wedding a couple of years ago at gretna./ It was lovely. Just the couple and dh and I and one other so intimate too! The couple hadn't told their families either so it was proper runaway gretna style

pavlov - bloody HV! Leo has got his 8 months check on thursady (not 8 months until 25th ), but luckily our HV is normal...well not exactly normal, but very laid back!

Phot of Leo standing up in his tummy tub . He can only stand if I pull him up and he wedges his big round bum against the side

His tongue is sticking out as usual - does anyone else's LO permenantly have their tongue out?

Wallace · 12/03/2007 20:19

Lysettes - nice to see you back, I'm so

prettymum · 12/03/2007 20:55

evening ladies

lysette- welcome back!! hope you get jacob back into a routine! thats why im always fretting about staying away from home.

pavlov- at your hv, some of them really now how to put fear into parents! they can be such nuicance(sp?) instead of helpful!

wallace- leo is gorgeous, and he's so chubby and cute!!junior used to stick his tongue out a lot the first few months but has stopped now.

hc- the only reason i sound like im always cleaning is because i seem to have 3 babies!! one of them include dp! the more i tidy the more mesyy it seems to get! we just have so much stuff and dp's hobby of cricket doesnt help! i'll be tidying up once i get off the pc!

agalch- the time is flying now, not long till you'll be walking down the aisle(sp?) im so jealous, i want to get married and be a bride!

nothing new in our household, junior bumped his head couple of times, he has started to refuse solids again and he threw up on the floor and found him playing with his vomit

gonna tidy the toys up now and get into my lazy mode! goodnight xx

Pavlov-Sophie too had the head too small sydrome too. Worried that she had something dreadful then had it remeasured 3 weeks later and it had miraculously grown 2cm! Stoopid HV and she measured it twice the first time. Hope you have had a good day. Your wedding is going to be very special at some lovely locations.

Wallace-Sophie has never stuck her tongue out. Leo looks a little poppit.

Take care folks

Hi Ladies
I?ve been trying to keep up but am hopelessly behind now, sorry, so just a quick update from me

We?re fine here, sleeping seems to have turned a corner all of a sudden, for no apparent reason! Babies are so weird. She goes down after an evening bf and a bit of food about 7pm, usually asleep by 8pm after a lot of chuntering to herself and her stuffed rabbit. Dream bf at 11pm then she has slept till 7am four out of the last seven nights.

No appt from the paed still, though we had a letter from the hospital saying they would let us know at some unspecified time in the future? guess she?s not really a high priority. Got her weighed on Friday, she?s officially dropped off the bottom of the chart now, 13lbs 8 I think. Apart from that she seems pretty healthy, very alert, no puking and is constantly on the go (well as ?on the go? as she can be given that she?s not actually crawling yet, she will be like Pacman once she?s actually mobile!).

She still seems happy at nursery, though had just two 1/4 hour naps today . The girls at the nursery are lovely, very young but genuinely seem to enjoy the children and Emma is a favourite as she?s the smallest and of course the cutest .

My work on the other hand is a total pain in the arse, with lots of extremely tedious office politics - really don?t blame those of you who are not the least bit interested in going back!

Wallace ? Leo is lovely! Re tongue, Emma is still practising hard at blowing raspberries (why???) so we do see a fair amount of it!

Kayzed, re milk and food I often wonder which order is best to give them in. I reason that it?s good to give milk after food in case she?s thirsty (and she doesn?t eat so well if she?s just had milk), but then again the opposite holds if I?m trying to get her to eat more solids So usually tend to try and space them out, there?s no letup in food/drink preparation then though!

Lol at the HV stupidity syndrome, those comments do sound mad.

I?ll try and do a proper catch up with everyone soon ? in the meantime have a good night and here?s to a set of heavily dozing babes this evening xxx

FirstAtForty · 12/03/2007 22:04

you can see how confused I am re food and milk, my post makes no sense at all! Think what I meant to say was that I don't want her to have not enough milk because she's full of food... or something like that anyway

aha okay, thanks kz

Twinklemegan · 12/03/2007 23:04

Hello everyone. I've been neglecting this thread recently and can't believe how many posts there are. Have skimmed them all and have now promptly forgotten what you all said. Must keep up

Not much to report here. Still no teeth, still no speech-like sounds, still no crawling. Having said that though he's saying aa, aa, aa a lot with a really hard vowel sound. He does it mostly when he sees the cats and I do wonder whether he's trying to say cat?? Loads of raspberries here too. I think Aidan's going to bum shuffle before he crawls - he seems to be really trying to move forwards at the moment.

Hope everyone is well.

Gosh, just finished my work and cleaned up.... meant to catch up on all the messages I've missed this last week, but realised the time and thought better of it !!! REALLY NEED to go to bed ! Hope all of you are okay. I've not changed my name yet as it is still complete madness here even though we moved 8 weeks ago !!
Alex is now crawling backwards, she can't seem to master forwards at all and ends up almost under the sofa looking very disgruntled with herself ! No teeth as yet, but she is drooling for England and has the reddest cheeks ever. Can't believe how much she is growing. Only seems like last week that she was in the tiny baby clothes and now she's well and truly in 3-6 months (8 months old next wk and weighed 13lb 9oz last week).

Right, I said I was going to bed, and I am NOW !! see you all soon, kisses to all the little ones xx

Lysettes · 13/03/2007 09:20

wallace leo is adorable! jacob sticks his tongue out a fair bit, but only when he's not got something, anything in it! the boy has no shame - you put anything near him and he'll shove it in his mouth!

re feeding and milk - we tend to have milk feeds separate from solid feeds and then he has either water or heavily diluted juice with his solids for thirst. means he actually seems to take enough of both.

the lentils were a partial success! the first mouthful promplty came back up with the most drama queen like motions i have ever seen , but then he was ok with it - mixed with a bit of apple to make it a bit less lumpy i think! I think I'm a bit tough on him at times and expect him to take more lumpy / pasty things than he can! he's wolfing down yoghurt at the moment! i think because it's cold on his gums he's also liking it. a big lump in his gum and lots of irritability and drool is making me desperately think there's a tooth about to come through, but we'll see.

he lasted till about 715 last night before conking out, then 315 for food but not play then 530 for a hello then back to sleep till 7 so it's getting better

PavlovtheCat · 13/03/2007 10:45

OMG how cute is Leo!!! {{{gushes}}}

PavlovtheCat · 13/03/2007 10:55

I am just off out to the beach, but just wanted to say this from my DP.
After inappropriately leaning over my shoulder whilst reading postings, he announced that he considered MN possibly the modern equivalent of WI, but without the cakes...
LOL

PavlovtheCat · 13/03/2007 10:56

oh, and LO Bella Pop always has a permanent tongue out smile too. Her smile is v similar to Leo's actually, that hugs half moon shape. He is absolutely gorgeous is Leo!

WI is the Womens Institute. My Grandma practically lived at the WI meetings and they organize trips for women. Not sure if it was started during the war due to wives left at home or before. My uncle recalls from his childhood his mum saying 'I'm just off down to the WI. I've made some pancake mix up-your dad will sort it' Needless to say as soon as he was old enough he learnt to cook real food!

Am cleaning cupboards so just stopped for a cuppa. Back soon.
