Kam - I dont begrudge them fun at all, I just feel that they have cut me out of the loop, I dont know, afraid of saying something that might make me cry or something. I have hardly seen anyone since my mum went, whatever there reasons, today just made it 100 times worse. Funnily enough, I bumped into an old uni friend this week who went away a few years ago and we lost touch, she has 2yr old so we have met up once, and arranged to meet at baby group with the LOs. I should change the direction of my friendship circle.

Thanks for hugs Kam. you are right, it just seems right now that I have wasted my time. I have been friends with these, most of these, for like 7 years, and I have had more supportive comments and thoughts from MNers who I hardly know. Anyway, its mostly me, I am almost sure of it. I feel angry at everyone around me apart from my LO who does nothing whatsoever to annoy me, even when she bites me when feeding (that is true love!).

Anyway, no more down talk. I am going to grab a beer as we have no wine. DP is out at said friends. I told him he should go have some fun (he was desperate to go, but did not want to say anything, have a feeling they invited him as he was being more nice about it all than usual and did not take much persuading when I said he should go)! Anyway, as he is not here, he cant have his beer .

Salud!

HumphreysCorner · 11/03/2007 21:23

Enjoy your drinks girls. Had a couple of glasses for medicinal purposes earlier.

PavlovtheCat · 11/03/2007 21:26

I am off to bed I think. Drinking beer, just not really working for me tonight. It is making me want a cigerette, and I quit when I found out I was expecting. Dont get it with wine. (Note to self - never run out of wine...).

Thanks for support Kam - sorry to be all depressing. Honestly not like this all the time. Just today. Tomrrow, will be full of beans. HV coming round for 8 month check - yeah, thats right, coming here, so prob a good idea I stayed home a cleaned place anyway!!

Have a good evening

prettymum · 11/03/2007 22:14

evening ladies!!

us- hope the sleeping improves soon!! i did control crying withh dd and junior and oit worked great! dd took longer than junior, a whole week of crying, but it got shorter each day. its so difficult but in the long run its worth it!

bloss- you sounds so happy, and really happy things are getting better between your ds and dh!

pav- my friends are like your friends, they hardly make the effort to come round and see me and hardly ever phone me to see how things are. they'll expect me to travel on transport on long journeys to go see them but cant even bring themselves to me even if they have time off and im tired of empty promises.

kz- your girls day out sounds fun!!

well did finally meet up with friends yesterday and went to an old classmates birthday do and it was really nice to catch up and nice not to have children with me for once as i could relax more! dp got a right bollocking but lucky for him my friends were in no rush. and i came home late so he missed his gym session!

need to make a call so better get off!

Beadmum · 12/03/2007 00:05

bloss - it was so lovely reading about you enjoying spending time with your boys. so happy for you. im like hc - moved me to 99% for being sahm

hc - im due back to work start of june so running out of time to decide what to do. dh and i discussed it last week and im closer to NOT going back but havent made final decision yet. sorry to hear your poorly again, hope it passes soon. im sure the pizza hut was worth breaking the diet for my diet has gone v.badly the last week with dh being off work on hols , we went out for lunch or tea almost every day and i put on 2lbs this week, v.annoyed as id lost 8lbs so far, back on track now though

kz - have a nice time next weekend, sounds like you have a lovely day planned

pavlov - your friends dont sound v.supportive at all agree it may be time to find a new circle of friends, enjoy the baby group

prettymum - glad you had a nice time with your friends and good on you for coming back late

sympathies to all, whose babies are still waking through the night

well charlotte seems to be eating most things now but still not in large quantities, shes been doing really well with finger foods last few weeks, so tried much lumpier food today and she ate it fine (she wouldnt eat it before) dont know if she was just ready for it or the finger foods have helped cos i thought if she can eat big chunks of baguette then she doesnt need smooth pureed food anymore

ok, im starting to ramble so id better head off to bed. good nights sleep to mums and babies xx

agalch · 12/03/2007 07:27

Morning all

Haven't been posting as much but do read all your posts still.Don't seem to have the energy to post as much, just seem to be sooo busy.Still doing little fiddly bits for the wedding and have joined the gym so been out a fair bit in the evenng.

Have had my spray tan done and it's really nice.If you ask for the lightest one it looks natural and not at all like Posh etc.

Got my hair trial on Wednesday and my 1st dress fitting on Thursday so feeling a wee bit nervous and a big bit excited.can't wait to try my dress on again

Eilidh is rolling well/sitting up and eating loads. She has an early morning feed, then brekkie. She doesn't usually have a bf mid-morning at all.Has 2 course lunch with a occasional mid afternoon bf(but not always)then a 2 course dinner.

We give her a bath and put her down awake now and she goes to sleep on her own.Have never done this before so really enjoying the fact that i am not nursing a baby to sleep every night for years.Dd1 also goes to bed well still so i am more relaxed and able to enjoy them more.

To all of you whose lo's are awful sleepers you have my sympathies(((hugs))).My other 3 dc were awful sleepers so i know what you are going through. It will get better i promise.Do any of you with poor sleepers co-sleep? I know it's not for everyone but it saved my sanity with my kids.

Pavlov you def need to give your "friends" a wide berth and find some mummy pals xx

Have a good day all.We are off to toddlers, making mothers day cards etc for the mindees to give their mums.

MaeWest · 12/03/2007 09:36

algach - nice to hear from you. Weddings are so exciting. I'm not much of a girly girl really, but loved getting ready for our wedding (will be 6 yrs this summer). I do bring DS into our bed sometimes, usually after midnight to get him thro until 5/6ish so that I have a chunk of decentish sleep. Really don't want to do cc as he is still pretty snotty at night and prob suffering with teeth as well. Also I'm too much of a lazy mama and end up bf him back to sleep rather than trying anything else . I know he is capable of sleeping well, and want to let him take his own time as much as poss.

DS is pulling back a little on the bf, but not much, still every 2-3 hrs during the day. Enjoying his brekkie and lunch tho, even let me spoon him some porrige this morning.

Lysettes · 12/03/2007 09:41

hi everyone! we're back from our travels - actually got back at the end of last week but it's been a mad house trying to get everything sorted out.

there is so much to catch up and i just wanted to say pretty hope things get better with your family, HC you should def think about the pool if you are sick again after just starting to go swimming - hope you all feel better soon, bloss glad things are better with dp you can be a smug as you want!

will have a scan through all the posts again when i have a few minutes.

jacob is still a bit jet lagged - woke up at 530 this morning which was a great improvement from 3, then 330 the night after! he's really trying to get the action for crawling and can do his legs but isn't strong enough for his arms! he's put on loads of weight and is eating a lot more now we are home. still doesn't like lumps though so am going to have to persevere with this - we are trying lentils mashed with sweet potato so will let you know how it goes - i'm sure there'll be the requisite drama queen gagging and choking noises before he wolfes it down

jacob isn't saying any words yet but shreiking a lot and squealing when he sees toys and people that he recognises. even when we got home and he saw all his toys in his room he was squealing and smiling!

have a great day everyone - it's gorgeous weather down here in london long may it last xxxxx

HumphreysCorner · 12/03/2007 10:12

Morning ladies

Welcome back Lysettes-only seems like yesterday that you went away. Hope you had a brill time. Have never had jet lag due to short flights so can't imagine what it is like.

agalch-bet you are butterfly stomach excited. Getting closer and closer

Mae-we got married in 2001 so 6 years for us too this summer.

Beadmum-dropped DD1 at nursery this morning and there was this poorly little boy crying for his mummy and one of the mindees said 'I don't know why she keeps leaving him as he has been poorly for a while now'. Poor mummy is probably at work and daren't take time off like I used to be-DD1 was sent whatever and I hated doing it so my percentage has moved up to 99.5% now. My due date back is 30th May. Going to weigh in tonight and get back on track tomorrow but it is Mothers Day on Sunday and I am cooking for 10 people. Can't possibly do diet food though-oh dear, never mind You have done well so far-keep it up!

I don't have any friends without children which is perhaps a good thing.

Had to force Sophie to have a BF this morning. Why is she so against it? Then 20 mins ago she happily latched on and nearly dozed off.

Have a good day girls. Did all my ironing yesterday so only need to hoover. Will need to do a massive clean up ready for the weekend-not looking forward to that. I'll have to bribe prettymum to assist

xxx

PavlovtheCat · 12/03/2007 16:39

Algach - were did you go? We went to USA at xamas, lo still suffering from jet lag lol . When are you getting married, sounds like it is soon...we getting married in sept.
LO went to settling in time at nursery for two hours thisa afternoon. DP and I both at home, wondered what we were going to do with our time, then noticed our tyre was flat!!! Never hads a flat before, so we changed it, together, without arguing!!! Then we went to bed for a half hour 'rest' iykwim .

LO slep ok last night, got rudely woken by dp shutting front door too loudly, its underneath her bedroom. thisas at 10:15pm. Then 11:30pm, BIL phones from USA even tho he and dp chatted earlier in the day. WHY?

agalch · 12/03/2007 17:20

Hi girls

Pavlov, sorry what did you mean by where did i go? I haven't been anywhere (sadly). We are getting married on the 10th of April in Gretna Green(my birthday). What about you? Do you have your wedding booked/planned?

Had dinner early tonight as i am off out to the gym again.Best part of going out is getting away from my family,i love it.Nobody annoying me with requests to wipe my bum/hows about getting me a beer babe? Hmmm and the steam room is great too Dp is getting better than me at putting girls to bed and organising the boys too so no curfew,i can be out as long as i like lol.

Right off to get pj's etc ready for bathtime so dp only has to do the actual baths.

xx

PavlovtheCat · 12/03/2007 17:21

Algach, sorry meant that one for Lysettes!! I read it, and it sounded wrong to you, but could not figure out how?!! oops .
I meant the wedding bit for you?!!

PavlovtheCat · 12/03/2007 17:26

Algach - loose plans due to other things happening that took over, but started properly now. We are getting married here
have a look at this
and having our reception at Tavistock Town Hall take a look at this

PavlovtheCat · 12/03/2007 17:30

I say we are, its arranged, but not yet paid for, so until we pay deposit, its not ours yet! We are not having a formal reception, unlike how it looks, we are hoping to have a hog roast, but its very very pricey so prob not bother too much about food, just usual buffet, just want a bloody great party!

Oh, and we are staying here for honeymoon night (two nights most likely)

PavlovtheCat · 12/03/2007 17:32

agalch · 12/03/2007 17:39

Pavlov WOW!!!!

Looks amazing!!! I am soooo rubbish at links but i am sure you will have seen Gretna before. We are getting married in the registry office and then going to the Old Blacksmiths for a blessing "over the anvil".
We are (me and all the family and guests)staying in the hotel on the Monday and the meal/reception and staying on the Tuesday night too.

Can't wait.I 'm not at all nervous which is good.We have been together for 18 years so i feel so comfortable with him iykwim.I know he really loves me for me and we will always be together. There is no-one else for either of us.God i sound soppy eh? It's how i feel tho so don't mind what i say lol.

better go and get organised

PavlovtheCat · 12/03/2007 17:39

oh, HV came for 8 month check. LO is 14.5lbs. I was hoping she was going to 15lb, but she is following line fine. She has jumped the charts in length though, but her head has shrunk!
Guess what the HV said?
I asked her why her head might not have grown as consistently as the rest. She said, well sometimes babies do have some kind of damage to the brain, causing it to not develop properly, but your LO seems perfectly fine, I should not worry. WTF? Was not worried, I am now. DP reminded me that head size does not equal brain size but still, she is meant to re-assure us! Also, she said, regarding her weight and failure to take a bottle. 'I guess she prefers food to your milk' Again WTF?
