lol kayzed - that was a good night too

BLW is fab. He eats heaps, always had done mind you. He seemed to know exactly what food was for form the word go! He eats anything put in front of him. It is so cool watching him manage to pick up really slippery things, or tiny specks of food. The soggy Oatibix he had this morning was very messy mind you

Wow, I feel like a new woman. Amelia only woke once last night at 1am, had a 10 min bf and then straight back to sleep and has just woken up at 6am!! Yay I could go on with my smileys!!

The weird thing is that I have done absolutely nothing differently to normal so I don't know why its now happening. Frustrating but lets hope it keeps up!!

Have a great day everyone

usandnosleep · 11/03/2007 09:05

Morning all What a gorgeous morning.

Thanks for the link KZ, there are lots of bleary eyed mums out there!

Hi Kbaby Yes it is crap, I seem to cope quite well for a few weeks then get really down and irritable for a few days.
DP took the monitor last night so I had to get up and feed Zack at 11.30 and 3.45. But DP settled him when he woke at 10, 4.30 and 6 with him getting up at 7.
I vowed not to do CC again but after a night of being woken every hour I did try it at the beginning of the week but I just can't do it. I lasted 20 mins, Zack gets so upset I can't bear it. We were both in tears! Then I feel awful because he is looking at me crying too!

Thank you for telling me about your friend HC, it does help and reassures me its nothing I have done How is Sophie doing? Zack is 15lbs 10ozs now

Wallace, Zack is eating more finger food now, he takes his breakfast from a spoon but isn't keen the rest of the day.

Hi Jom I'm glad you had a good night with Amelia, hope it lasts! Zack has never slept through the night so I'm not expecting that but waking once or twice would be good.

Pretty, I hope you had serious words wiith your other half

Beadmum, a night away sounds bliss I don't know about couple time I think I would have had a long soak in the bath and then a very early night! And I don't mean that sort of an early night

Bloss, I'm glad things are improving

Ceebee, I tried beanbags but Zack just climbs them!

Mae, Hope you're feeling better? And getting lots of help this weekend x

Hi French I wish I had such a sleepy baby

Waving to First Hope you are ok and Emma is well x

Hi Pavlov So you're not pregnant then

Where are Bumpy, Misty, Madness and anyone else I may have forgottten?
I'm missing Sleep too, when is she back?

Well I'm sorry girls but bananacado wasn't popular here. I do have a very fussy little boy though. We went to the supermarket last night and bought lots of different things for Zack to try. Mostly finger foods.

I'd better be off I'm still in my PJ's, have good days all

PavlovtheCat · 11/03/2007 10:33

Hey all. Gosh a lot of posts, again, I been out of touch eh?

Frenchleave - LO is sleeping better than she used to, been using the PU/PD method, loosely, my own version of, not strict with the process, sort of worked it for my own LO but might not last.

Her sleep has been all over the place, largely due to teething and us spending a lot of time travelling up and down from Devon to London to visit my mum over the last few months before she died. I had been feeding her to sleep as I did not want her to be stressed any more than she had to be. So, the last month we have been trying to get a routine, and she has been waking probably every hour or so.
PU/PD is gentle and calming for my LO, relies on her doing the work, and she has responded very well to it.
Last night was the best night so far, its been getting gradually better with a really tough one two nights ago (common apparantly).

I fed her four times during the day, usually feed three times and two snacks.
7:00pm - Wind down, story, BF
7:30pm - asleep.
9:00pm - awake, PU/PD once 5 mins, asleep on her own.
11:30pm - BF 10 mins(used to be dream feed, she wakes for it now!), back to sleep straight away.
4:30am. BF, back to sleep straight away.
5:30am - awake - PU/PD 20 mins (poor Dp had to get up at 6am for work anyway!)
8am - Awake for the morning.

I feel so much better, refreshed, less grotty and dishevelled!

Prettymum - I am sorry you are having family problems, I understand how hard this can be, especially when you have a little child and you want and need support, I am currently going through a rough time with my family also, since mum died. It will
work itself out I am sure, just be yourself and know you are the better person in all this {{{hugs}}}

Jom - - my LO is very vocal too, but alas does not really say mama or dada yet, has said dada a few times, but not much, she mainly makes african tongues sounds, screeches, and sounds as if she is trying to imitate the cats! She loves clicking her tongue and has taken to making 'silent' goldfish sounds, like practicing using parts of her tongue she has not used before. She also keeps making sounds like 'hmm' when she sees things she likes, mainly the cats
Wallace - cool on your LO asking for food! HE obviously enjoys it LO make a eh-eh-eh-eh noise when she wants food, although thats more for milk.
Lo had pork the last few days. She loved it, had it with sweet potato when I did it. Yesterday she had it with Mango and Brocolli - sounds odd, because it is. DP thought the frozen mango puree was sweet potato puree, and the brocolli was peas! She seemed to love it though

PavlovtheCat · 11/03/2007 10:35

ANd yes what a gorgeous morning US .
We are going to the beach this afternoon when DP finishes work, not quite warm enough for a paddle yet though!

And this morning, I should be cleaning the kicthen as we have guests this evening, but I am going to the park for LO to play on swings! She loves the swing.

PavlovtheCat · 11/03/2007 11:41

LOL, 'sleep is for the weak' - I post on thi thread - yes this is a great, suppotive and friendly thread. It was started with Sept babies 06 in mind, but there a few of us who have older children now, and I think a couple with slightly younger ones, so you will be more than welcome .

PavlovtheCat · 11/03/2007 11:59

i am soo annoyed with some of my so-called friends. Been called by a friend, telling me another friend is having birthday drinks this afternoon, did we know and will we be going. Said I knew nothing about it, but guess will prob go, and she asked for a lift, did not want me to know to keep me posted, but so she could blag a lift! Nice. She fluffed her way thrhough, saying it was only a loose plan yesterday...I feel so left out right now, have a baby and have a parent die, great way to let you know who really care...
Sorry , rant over

IamBlossom · 11/03/2007 19:07

Pavlov, you are right to be narked, I would be.

Evening all. Lovely weekend. Mooched about, in the garden, in the sunshine, been shopping, seen friends, etc. DH put DS1 in his full Liverpool football kit this morning, and he has just got out of the bath, out it all back on again and gone to bed in it. Bless! Will have to steal it to wash it tomorrow......

have just bought this for The Tobster.....

Tomorrow I am taking the boys to stay at a friend's house for the night with her two boys, as her hubby is away with work. I wonder how much sleep I will get....DS1 is so used to his routine at home, and a late night (her boys don't go to bed at 6.30pm!) a different bedroom and all the excitement of a sleepover does not bode well....Toby should be fine I think....we will see. Be fun.

This weekend coming, we are going to a hotel for the Saturday night for a wedding party, and my parents are coming here to look after the boys! 24 hours away from them. We are going ot check into the hotel at 3 and use the pool and Sauna etc, and I have booked the poshest suite of rooms they have to make it extra special. Soooooo looking forward to it, I hope the boys don't get ill beforehand....troble is I have to buy a dress somehow this week, god knows when. I have a gorgeous very dressy sexy red dress I thought I would wear, but tried it on, and although it fits, my boobs are now completely flat after having T and this dress needs boobs....I will buy some boob tape just in case I don't find anything this week.....

yes Beadmum I am loving being a SAHM. I went back to work after DS1, but was pregnant with 7 months so was only back for just over a year (my boss was NOT impressed ) Just now I was reading the Gruffalo to DS1, thinking what alovely day we have had, thinking about another one tomorrow, thinking about the rest of the year to have at home with them, the Summer, Autumn, the run up to next Christmas and just felt so happy. I am very lucky.

And DS1 has been MUCH warmer to DH this last couple of days, a direct result of him spending more time with him; I got a lie in this morning till 8am while Dh did brekkie with both boys; I have got home made meatballs in the oven for tea (made by DH); and I don't have to go to work tomorrow. Life is sweet.

PavlovtheCat · 11/03/2007 19:22

Blos - you sound happy , its great to hear!

HumphreysCorner · 11/03/2007 19:43

Evening girlies

Pavlov- grrrhhhh at your friends. Who needs em eh???

us-did you get some sleep last night? Please consider trying CC again as the 20 mins will keep reducing if you persevere. Agree that it is heartbreaking watching them cry but they do tend to cry more if they can see you. Sophie was 15lb 12oz at the last weigh in.

jom-Sophie wears a frilly pink swimming cossie that I got from Mothercare with a Huggies swim nappy underneath.

Beadmum-April is the time to make my decision re work. Am 98% sure I am not going back but just need to make it 100% before I tell her.

Sophie had a sandwich on Saturday and she loved it. Have cut out Petit Filous and the sickness is much improved. Poos more though

Am desperate to decorate the lounge so have sellotaped some wallpaper samples on the wall. To persuade DH to do it I promised to do 'the deed' every night for a month. He jumped with joy but I didn't say which month

Have yet another cold and annoying phlemy (sp) cough-bah! Feel tired and I get a full nights sleep so don't know how you night wakers cope. ((hugs)) to you all.

Went to the Pizza Hut again last night so the diet goes out of the window once more. Am not really losing now so think I should drop my points being as though Sophie is not having much milk. Can't justify having those extra 5 points.

Byee for now.

IamBlossom · 11/03/2007 19:59

HC, will you come round and do my ironing please? You are so good at keeping up with yours. LOL at the deed eery night for a month, I wouldn't be able to sit down! DH would think he had died and gone to heaven.

Just re-read my previous post and I sound unbearably smug, when there are so many of you out there with no sleep, puking babies and who ARE going to work tomorrow. Sorry for bragging. It will all change by Tuesday, and I'll be on here whinging no doubt.

xx

PavlovtheCat · 11/03/2007 20:01

Blos - you should feel smug - if you are feeling great and happy, bloody well enjoy it . Its where we all want to be, and I for one do not begrudge you it!

PavlovtheCat · 11/03/2007 20:04

blos- btw the graco funrock thingy looks fab!

MaeWest · 11/03/2007 20:10

Hey Bloss - don't worry about sounding smug

OP posts:
IamBlossom · 11/03/2007 20:14

Aw that's lovely Mae, DS1 loves being read to so much, and i was just thinking the other day I might start reading the books to Toby that I read at first to DS1, lots of bright colors and touchy feely things, and noises....

Ure quite right, it is good days and their reverberations that get you through the low times. I think this is the first weekend in at least 6 i haven't cried after a row with DH so I reckon I was due some serenity...

PavlovtheCat · 11/03/2007 20:17

A w/end without a row with DP? Thats casue for smugness in istelf Blos! My DP and I did not argue at all in the beginning months, things have gone downhill a bit since just before my mum left us, I guess its probably my fault, along with tiredness etc, I need to curb my thoughts sometimes I think...!

So, Blos
{{{{{claps hands}}}}} yey for a peaceful weekend!

Kam - your champagne day sounds great!
Thanks for the 'grrrs' to my friends all. My DP phoned em to see what was happening, they said no gathering, my other friend had misunderstood, just said she could go over if she wanted to in the afternoon. DP asked if they wanted to come over for dinner, she said sounded good, he said he would pop in for a cuppa and discuss, took LO over, with said friend who wanted a lift, I stayed, cleaned the kitchen, spotless in prep for them coming over. DP comes back 6:00pm, said that there were loads of people there, all those who went out clubbing on Friday, so they were not going to come for dinner...I have no prob with her doing what she wants on her birthday, but why lie about having friends over? Oh I dont know, maybe I am being paranoid...probably am, DP thinks I am being harsh on friends for not supporting me over last few months/weeks, anger/grief/blah blah. Who knows.
Sorry, not baby related in the slightest. I might do another thread about this....what do you think?

Baby related - LO went to sleep at 7:30pm, ate 4 meals today, but not as much as yesterday, however did the biggest smelliest poop I have ever seen from her so far. URGH!

Blos - mostly I am a happy soul, and mostly I throw myself into looking after LO, which makes me happy, always :-).

Bloss-had no idea things were so bad. A swift right hook is needed if a row starts methinks Lol at the 'honeymoon' period. Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays are the only full days I have with DD1 but am always grateful for nursey the next day. Don't feel smug-I love the way you described spending time with your children and the run up to next Christmas. That has moved my percentage up to 99%. The only blot on my horizon is DD1 starting school in September-marks the end of toddlerhood in a way.

kayzed-strange that I only returned swimming this week and heyho I am ill again and it is chesty. Hope you have a fab day next weekend-sounds brill.
