hi jonah

not much help but with us we bought the potty months ago so that dd would get used to having it around without mention of what it was for.

she has never liked sitting on potty so we got a toilet seat which she accepts and calls the big girl seat. over the last 3 months she sits there regularly morning and pre bath with varying degrees of success.

next step we will let her run around with big girl knickers on and see how it goes
not expecting miracles

Hiya Lippy (and everyone else). I've changed my name. Uwila here. But, I can't believe I'm not on your old timeers list, MrsW. What up with that?

I never was able to keep up with this thread ang gave up many many moons ago.

I hope everyone is well!

Potty training? Am I supposed to be thinking about that? It can wait.... I've got to get his older sister to stop peeing in her pants because she can't be arsed to go to the toilet when she's busy doing something more entertaining (which is anything other than sitting on the toilet).

I am a little sad that my babies are no longer babies. Every now and then I get all sentimental and think oh maybe I could have one more. But then I remember how much I pay for childcare and that knocks some sense back into me.

tribpot · 22/06/2007 21:49

sfx, can you help on this thread?

sfxmum · 22/06/2007 21:55

hi there no dh is a full time wage slave at the moment since i became a sahm.

he found it hard to meet other people since most groups were mummy and baby

mandymac · 22/06/2007 22:05

Hello Ladies

My dd is a 22nd Junie too. She has had a party at nursery today and lots of fun opening her cards - much to busy to talk to her grandad on the phone 'me too busy papa'.

We are not celebrating properly until next weekend, as we just got back from our first holiday with her this week (lovely week in Spanish Villa).

Happy Birthday to all the Junie toddlers and congrats to all the new brothers and sister too! Some of you have been busy .

sfxmum · 22/06/2007 22:30

this year we will be taking dd camping to a festival in mid july

is it foolish?

Bubbaloo · 23/06/2007 22:59

Hi All,
Hope all the birthday celebrations went well and are continuing to do so.
We went to Haven in Great Yarmouth and only came back today and are now in desperate need of a holiday after our week away.ds1 was a nightmare, opening and closing just about every door, fridge, cooker etc...he could lay his hands on.We ended up hiring a stairgate for his bedroom door and in true Houdini style,he somehow managed to escape and break it.Luckily we didn't have to forfeit our deposit.ds2 spent most of the week screaming...for a change,so nothing new there!
Dh and I both ended up with some bug which I think had something to do with a chinese we had Thursday evening. We spent all of yesterday confined to the caravan...and toilet.
But it wasn't all bad as I came home to be greeted by my new Phil and Teds buggy which is absolutely fabulous-sad I know, but I love it.
Not even thinking about potty training yet.ds1 does have a potty but there's no way he'd sit still long enough to produce anything in it.
Hope everyone is well-better go and put yet another load of washing in the machine.

tribpot · 25/06/2007 11:32

sfx, I think if it's raining like it is today, I would definitely counsel against camping But seriously though, have a MN friend who is an ardent camper with her two little ones, so will put you in touch by email.

Bubb - hello! Which Phil and Ted do you have?

sfxmum · 25/06/2007 12:36

trib its predicted to get better by mid month and i already bought tickets www.latitudefestival.co.uk/home/
now looking for a tent sleep bags etc.

btw my email has changed mrsfantastica at googlemail dot com

hope everyone ok it is so hard to keep active toddler busy in a flat in this weather, indoor soft play areas are a cross between a zoo and lord of the flies

Bubbaloo · 25/06/2007 12:41

Sfx-Best of luck with the camping.
Trib-Its the new Sport Phil and Teds.I got it imported from the States and it's the blue camoflage colour which is fab.Apparently,it'll be in the UK from October.

tribpot · 25/06/2007 17:14

Well, my office has just been evacuated as the river Aire has burst its banks. Good job (at least for me!) I am at home!

tribpot · 25/06/2007 17:15

But did just find this on the beeb website for you, sfx!

sfxmum · 25/06/2007 18:32

it is controversial apparently
oh well very brave with 5m old dd at least likes music but ear protectors will be necessary i think

it has been raining around here and the river often looks very high but so far no flooding but i guess the Thames is better protected than most

hope everyone is safe

eastyorksmum · 25/06/2007 21:02

Lua · 26/06/2007 22:33

Hello everybody!
I was reading the news this evening about the flood and was wondering how all the fellow northerners are doing.... Katz, trib, MrsW... everybody OK?
If anyone needs a roof, let me know - we are dry over here - for a change!

Jonah, and bubb couldn't help but checked how your bundles were doing. Very late congratulations!

Not much from the lua household besides the constant tantrum management! Hope the rested of you has not been blessed with such a delicate moody 2 year old!

Bubbaloo · 26/06/2007 22:47

Hi Lua-Hope all is well with you. We're very well and haven't encountered the tantrums yet. We're in Ds1 good books at the mo after taking him to Legoland for the day today.Had a fab time and the rain kept off which was good.

tribpot · 27/06/2007 08:02

We're okay in Leeds, lua - haven't heard from katz though, hope she's okay. (She does live at the top of an enormous hill, which has to be a plus point). I'm on my way down to Devon today, the M1 is closed and the alternative route is to sail through Sheffield ...

sfxmum · 27/06/2007 09:10

hi everyone

wave to EYM nice to see you.

glad to hear that so far everyone seems ok and safe from floods.

dd is very proudly sporting big girl knickers after a successful sitting in the 'big girl seat'

eastyorksmum · 27/06/2007 15:32

Hello Bubbs hugsss and Sxmum, Trib and Lua nice to see you all.

Yes we to have tantrums Lua grrrrrr drives you mad, I just tend to ignore silly behaviour and stamp on bad behaviour dangerous to him, but we still dont know what the word no is sound familar?

Hes a very lovely little boy most of the time though very well behaved, and very social, he can adapt to most situations, and daddys boy which i think is lovely to watch, William big brothers are now 22, 19 and nearly 18, they love to come and see him.

Talking of the 18 year old, he wants us all to dress up for his 18th and go round Hull town lol can you see me as wonderwomen lol did i forget to say supper heros, should be fun.

were all ok here flood just missed us i think, although a lot of the town was covered my sis in Rotherham said sheffield was hit bedly shes was ok though.

katz · 28/06/2007 10:21

hi all

nice to see some old faces around!

We'll the flooding has been so much fun! We've lost power a few times and DH couldn't get to work on Tuesday because the roads he uses were all under water. The water is starting to subside but more rain is on its way on saturday, thankfully we're off to west wales tomorrow so it should miss us. Like Trib says i live on top of one of the 7 hills in Sheffield so doubt we'll get flooded just stuck!
