hi giddy

on the subject of tantrums and mad toddler behaviour,
dd was first afraid of a t-shirt, then wore it fine
then decided her trainers were not to be trusted and would cry if we suggested she put them on - now ok
went swimming as per usual but she refused to wear swimsuit
water baby that she is and always has been she now cries hysterically when we wash her hair

MrsWednesday · 30/06/2007 22:10

Glad you are ok Katz and that your house hasn't been badly affected - we're also on top of a hill so it's all passed me by. EYM (lovely to see you!), glad your sister is also ok.

Nice to see some old faces on here, Uwila sorry for not mentioning you - was most pleased when I worked out your new name a few weeks ago because I did wonder where you'd gone.

Trib, hope you got down to Devon ok!

JonahB, I haven't started potty training with DS2 and probably won't until next year. With DS1 I left it until he was practically begging me to let him stop wearing nappies - he came out of them at the same time as DS2 was born (not good timing for me ) and he was potty trained within a week - he was 2 years 9 months. Is your DS1 showing signs of being keen? If he isn't, I really wouldn't bother when you've got so much on with DS2 (but then again, I am quite lazy )

We're trying to get DS2 into a bed (DH bought a bunkbed for the pair of them on Ebay) but without much success. Had to put him back in to bed at least 20 times tonight - he thought it was a great game . At 9.00 we gave him and put him back in his cot. Once he's asleep in the bed he's fine, (although he's fallen out a couple of times), it's just getting him off to sleep that's the problem. Weary sigh.

Right, off to bed, had a very late night last night and I'm feeling knackered today.

sfxmum · 10/07/2007 10:29

hello everyone

i hope you are all well, dry and safe.
did you all see Amyjade wedding announcement? thats lovely

we had a huge thunderstorm yesterday much to dd's amusement, we were out at Kew gardens with inlaws but managed to take swift shelter in the cafe where there were lots of lovely cakes

am getting ready for our camping festival weekend we are leaving on thursday, so i am making lists even in my sleep to make sure we have what we need to keep dd safe and comfortable
we might need a bigger tent... car...

katz · 10/07/2007 12:24

sfxmum · 16/07/2007 12:30

hi all hope you are well

we had a fab time at festival, something to be repeated no doubt

pics on my profile

off to do loads of washing

Uki · 21/07/2007 14:20

Hi Everyone

We have had lots of rain here too, which is actually a good thing, as it means the drought is finally over.

Ds is so much fun now, I'm really enjoying him he is very chatty and interactive, and tries to help with everything including putting on my make-up for me.

I am 36+4 today, so feel like i'm on the countdown now. I have the same sore ribs i had with ds, so a bit over that, the sonographer said on thursday it is baby's bottom, up under my ribs!!!

EYM can't believe you have such grown up boys, that must be very special for them to have such a little brother.

SFX my junie hates having his hair washed too, nightmare.

Bubbaloo · 21/07/2007 17:03

Hi All,

Lots of rain here too-the roads were badly flooded yesterday but today hasn't been too bad.

Sfx-Glad you enjoyed the trip.Lovely pics on your profile.I've stuck a few on mine too.

Uki-Not long now eh? I am sooooo glad not to be pg.It's lovely to be able to sleep on my front again and not have all the niggly pains too.

Has been a bit hectic here.Ds2 is now as good as gold and (touch wood) is over his wind/colic problems and sleeping through the night at long last. He's constantly smiling too which is lovely-just waiting for the giggles to begin.
Ds1 isn't very well at the mo and it's been awful. The doc isn't 100% sure what he has but thinks it's either Hand,Foot and Mouth or Measles. He has about 10 blisters/ulcers under both his lips aswell as on his tongue and on the insides of his cheeks. He is in so much pain, bless him, hasn't eaten since Weds(apart from a bowl of porridge),and is so skinny it's unbelievable-you can see all his ribs.
He's on the max dose of Calpol and Neurofen everyday and now has some antibiotics too so hopefully they'll start kicking in soon and he'll feel a bit better.

Hope everyone else is well-this thread gone a bit quiet lately.x

JonahB · 22/07/2007 16:06

Afternoon all!!

Uki ? thinking of you in your last few weeks. Nearly there!!!!

Bubb ? I?m totally with you on the sleeping on the front position, it?s so wonderful. Glad to hear you?re getting a full night?s sleep again. I?m not there yet. My good news is that last night was the first night I was up only ONCE in the night. This was a major victory in the Jonah household and long may it continue. Getting up twice in the night was exhausting me. Hope your DS1 is feeling better soon.

MrsW ? hope you?ve cracked the bed issue now. We did it before the arrival of DS1 (think I mentioned it once or twice ) and after a week of hell, we broke his will, umm, I mean, he started staying in the bed and sleeping in it .

Everything?s going well here. A little hectic, but fine. DS1 is an absolute delight and is responding well to DS2, who is now beginning to join the world, iykwim, looking at us, smiling and trying to talk. DS1 tries to ?help? whenever he can with DS2 ? changing nappies, carrying him around in his chair(putting his full weight onto it whilst holding it, so you end up carrying 2 kids), showing him toys (shoving in his face). I?m sure most of you are familiar with this. It is cute though, even when he is slightly overenthusiastic!!

Hope the rest of you are well and the awful awful weather isn?t too traumatic. A toddler climbing the walls indoors when it rains yet again isn?t the best fun is it?

sfxmum · 24/07/2007 09:39

hi all

uki thinking of you and fingers crossed

dd is better about hair washing now and, am glad to say sleeps well most nights although once in a while we have a few days when she wakes up at 2am for some reason.

we are halfheartedly doing potty training
i find that i know more about steamies, diesels and assorted goings on at Sodor that i would like, also have constant bizarre and very involved conversations about the plots of the episodes and the books

have an obsessive on my hands!

wave to all
lovely pics bubs

katz · 25/07/2007 08:25

hi all

Nice to hear all the junies siblings are doing well.

All ok here on the katz household front, we have just about cracked the going to bed thing, which i have been very lazy in dealing with, plus its sooo nice to curl up on the sofa and cuddle dd2!

We are too making half hearted efforts with the potty training thing, have switched from nappies to pullup but that has more to do with tesco having them on special offer rather than actively making a change! the biggest challenge for us is that DD2's skin condition results in very loose poos still which are overly easy for her to tell she doing, so i guess its nappies for us for a while longer.

would love to meet up over the summer if anyone is free, i'm off for the whole of Aug so anyone else up for it?

tribpot · 25/07/2007 19:34

katz - yeah - this sounds good. My childminder is off the week of 6th August and the week of 20th August, so I am forced to spend some time with ds during the week then but definitely let's do it.

Hello to all - will do a proper catch up soon but am unable to focus because my flipping face is so sore :(

Any pointers, fellow Junies? I feel like asking dh to put my out of my misery permanently except he must think I am the world's worst big girl's blouse given the pain he lives in daily.

katz · 25/07/2007 20:08

week of the 20th good, we're away 7th - 14th. can bring girls on train and meet somewhere if you fancy.

sfxmum · 25/07/2007 22:18

hi trib sorry to hear
dh is very prone to this deffo. do inhaling nice steam we also use some drops of olbas oil. also steam in room painkillers rest painkillers more steaming. it does go away but am told it feels like the head is exploding.

hope you feel better soon

sfxmum · 04/08/2007 08:13

so any news on new babies?

Uki · 04/08/2007 12:39

Hi Ya

Trib - hope your face, is better and hope you are enjoying time with ds.

Bub - good to hear ds2 is doing well, Yes i'm looking forward to not being a whale sized.

No news from me yet, although I'm ready for the baby to come, I'm not sure I'm up to the labour on antibiotics for a cough that hasn't gone away, and suffering from bad diarrea, what a combination.

Oh well still have 10- days or so to get better. the good news is pre eclampsia hasn't happened again like it did with ds.

Ds has started pre - school but only stays an hour on his own so far, he is such a chatter box ATM which is fun

hope everyone else is well

Bubbaloo · 04/08/2007 16:35

Best of luck Uki.I also thought I had 10 days to go but ds2 was 9 days early.Hopefully you won't have long to go and hope you're feeling better soon.At least you havent got the heat we've got here in the UK at the mo.

Hope everyone else is good.
We're all fine at this end and ds1 is now better, but alot thinner after being ill.ds2 is doing really well and is still sleeping 11 hours at night which I have no complaints about. He'll be 4 months old on Tuesday-can't believe how quickly that's gone!

I'm now been back on my diet 3 weeks and have lost 16lbs so far,so very pleased.Still got a long way to go yet, then hopefully we can start ttc number 3,hee hee.

sfxmum · 05/08/2007 12:36

best of luck Uki fingers crossed

Bubbaloo are you being the incredible shrinking woman. is that the Cambridge diet thing?
i still have about 2 extra stone from dd, which given our old friend PCOS is making conception tricky

hope you are all well, complete scorcher in London this weekend

Bubbaloo · 05/08/2007 15:36

Hi Sfx-Can't bear this heat either.Spent all morning shopping at Romford and I'm shattered.Yes,it is the Cambridge diet-very drastic but it definately works.I lost 4 stone in 3 months last year, then fell pg with Ethan and put on about 5 stone.I've done it once before so I know I can do it again.I've also got PCOS but I'm sure losing the weight last time helped conceiving Ethan as Oscar took a long 7 years!
I've still got about 6 stone left to go,which if I stick to the diet, will be gone by January.

sfxmum · 06/08/2007 09:19

bubb - it is good that it works for you, the weight and all that comes with it is definitely a factor with PCOS. my GP thinks i should go on Atkins, but i feel, for me exercise is the key. unfortunately i have been finding it hard to do lately do i put on what i had lost with all those 7am jogs

(and control food as well)
am a bit stuck as i am quite scared of pregnancy while too large for all the possible complications like gestational diabetes etc.

ramble over

eastyorksmum · 19/08/2007 21:32

BABY no.2

Levi Jasper
born 16th Aug 4:21pm
7pd 56 oz
52cm

(my lucky date as dh, bf and I are all on 16th's)

I'd hardly say second birth was easier, or less painful although it was 8.5 x quicker.

we are going well now after a little shock, on saturday and thought he would need an operation but all ok, phew

MrsWednesday · 20/08/2007 13:37
