Sfx-really don't know where the time goes. They get big so quickly.Ds2 is already in 12-18 month sleepsuits so have a feeling he will overtake ds1.They weigh the same too.
Excellent news on the potty front and sympathies on the 'no' phase. The tantrums have finally begun here, along with the 'why's'.All good fun though.

Bubb/Lummox, I?ve got round the whole Christmas vs Chanukah dilemma in our house, with our fabulous Chanukah Bush. Visitors may be forgiven for thinking it?s a Christmas tree, but there are subtle, yet noticeable differences for the initiated eye. We decorate the bush with Chanukah cookies, made with our special cookie cutters ? so we have a star of david, a chanukiah, a maccabee, a dreidel and a shield. It?s amazing what you can buy on e-bay! This slightly eases my guilt for being such a traitor!

Hi All

about time for a Christmas/end of year catch up.

Arn't they growing up fast, C is getting so excited about Christmas. dh has insured he will be well and truly spoilt

I had to insure LL got some pre3ssies too, although dh thinks babies don't need presents, talk about left out.

Bub- understand potty frustrations, C did his first wee on toilet today, he had majorily regressed since LL arrived. I'm sure today won't be full stream ahead though, but the big pack of thomas stickers is helping, one for each time he sits, so tiringly slow, i want sfx's mums tips.

SFX- how are you? so sorry to hear your news
I am on fb, but have no idea of anyone's real names, and my email is my full name.

hope everyone has a lovely holiday

sfxmum · 20/12/2007 16:13

hi all

things looking festive here got nearly all the pressies

we are amused by all the fierce independence but it does make things hard when shopping in busy places

I hope to finish off shopping tomorrow, get some festive cooking done for the party on Saturday the Sunday off to inlaws

hope you all have a great Festive season
Happy Christmas

Uki - mrsfantasticat at googlemail dot com

will put a recent pic on profile later, my little Christmas fairy

Uki · 21/12/2007 05:37

SFX- dd looks gorgeous, love the skirt and those wellies.

Mrs Wed- did I see on another thread you have some news???????????

dh is off shopping with C..... absolute blissright now

tribpot · 21/12/2007 06:39

Actually Uki it looks like MrsW's had some bad news too So sorry to all. I thought I was pregnant this month but it was just an unusually late period, which is hardly the same thing but I'm quite upset anyway.

In happier news though, I have been promoted at work, woot!

Still completely unready for Christmas, but what the hey, there are still some windows closed on ds's advent calendar so that means I still have time. We've had the tree up for a week or so and our Christmas decorations arrived yesterday. Ds spent literally an hour putting them all on, taking them all off, putting them all on ... then putting them all on my fingers whilst I watched It Takes Too, very relaxing!

Hope everyone has a lovely festive time, can't believe our Junies are fast approaching 3!

sfxmum · 21/12/2007 09:10

congratulations trib glad the promotions arrived after all

Uki yes I'm afraid mrsW and me were on the same boat. better things next year.

those wellies on dd no longer fit her that pic was from the summer when we went to the music festival.
will add new ones soon.

can't believe I set the alarm to hit M&S before dh went to work but frankly it was the best time, no crowds and more importantly no toddler
and I got all I needed

Bubbaloo · 23/12/2007 20:51

Sfx and MrsW-Sorry to hear your news.Hope next year is luckier for you both.x

Trib-Congrats on the promotion!
Lol at the dec's.We have a full dressed fibre optic tree this year, for that very reason.

Finally ventured to Sainsbury's to do my christmas shop this morning and at 9.30 it was surprisingly quiet, although very festive,as I sung along to the xmas songs being blasted from their speakers.By the time the tills opened at 10am I was done and at home by 10.15,very pleased.
I then realised this afternoon that I couldn't possibly survive xmas without a tin of Roses so sent pooor dh to Sainsbury's at 3.45pm to get some. They had sold out completely, but good old Woolies still had a few left.
Still have a couple of things to wrap and am horrified by the growing mound of pressies the boys both have. Will be glad when they're opened and I can get back into ds2's bedroom's without trying to squeeze through the gaps.Instead I'll have a living room that resembles a toy shop,so I can't win either way,hee hee.
Anyway...incase I don't get another chance to get on here,Happy Christmas to everyone.xxx

tribpot · 25/12/2007 11:16

Merry Christmas everyone! Hope you're having a peaceful day.

sfxmum · 27/12/2007 10:33

hello hope everyone had a nice Christmas

We had a relaxing time at inlaws,dd was spoiled rotten everyday and for the first time was almost completely off our hands as everyone fussed over her and she allowed it.

Maybe grampa giving her extra ice cream and attempting to give cake for breakfast had something to do with it

I hope you are all well and had a nice peaceful Christmas.

Uki · 28/12/2007 02:59

Hi All

well i hope our jumies, enjoyed Christmas as much as ours did.

yes, C got well and truly spoilt, I think he got a bit overwhelmed at the end of the day, as too exciting for any nap.
LL ended up quite spoilt too.

Happy New Year to all, I hope it brings us all our hopes and dreams

katz · 30/12/2007 10:14

merry christmas everyone and heres to a joyous new year.

Bubbaloo · 08/01/2008 22:19

Evening all,
Just noticed we haven't had a 2008 post of here yet.
Hope everyone is well and had a good christmas and new year.x

katz · 09/01/2008 11:53

do you guys realise that this thread is nearly 1 whole year old! we started in feb 07.

Uki · 09/01/2008 12:05

yes we are all slack, i blame my slackness on still lurking on the conception, miscarriage pregnancy and now craft topics
I'm all over the place.

C's talking is really progressing, yesterday he said 'mummy looks all pretty' and today he said 'nappy, dirty, put it in bin', and ran and put Ll's nappy in the bin.

If only i could train dh to pick up after himself and others!!!

katz · 09/01/2008 17:20

he sounds adorable!

DD2 is talking nineteen to the dozen and never seems to stop! she is such a little character and utterly adorable. We seem to have mastered the use of the potty which is fab. NO MORE NAPPIES! yeah!

sfxmum · 21/01/2008 17:31

hello all

hope the new year has started well.
we took dd to visit the local nursery in view to her starting late in the summer. she went into the 3-5y room when we arrived and stayed while we had a tour and chat in managers office, she loved it and did not want to leave.

we are considering only 2mornings or afternoons per week as it is expensive but we feel worthwhile both if we go on to have another baby (fingers crossed) or if I just go back to work in which case she will be there full time.
It was reassuring

Uki · 27/01/2008 11:11

SFX- C will go to pre school 2 mornings this year, we are lucky as it is incredibility cheap here.

C doesn't stop talking either, I'm so proud, he can say some big words.
No luck with the toilet training at all, he just only knows when he is going not before, we have tried to motivate him with stickers and 'annie and clarabel' trains but he just tells everyone in the street about it, but won't do it.

Hope every one else is well, come give us your updates.

Ladies, I need to crash the thread for advice. My beloved step-father went to his GP yesterday with shortness of breath and other symptoms, and has had a chest x-ray done today that shows a mass on his heart Lymphoma has been mentioned, I'm just completely spinning tonight.

katz · 19/02/2008 21:09

oh trib, i'm really sorry.

my msn isn't working tonight but feel free to nudge me tomorrow, its my real name @hotmail.com

tribpot · 20/02/2008 08:49

Thanks Katz - can't MSN from work, sadly.

sfxmum · 20/02/2008 08:53

so sorry Trib I understand how upsetting it must be for you. No advice as I have no experience of the condition but just wanted to express my support.
{take care}

tribpot · 20/02/2008 12:40

Thanks sfx. I'm just ploughing on through work to keep busy whilst we wait. I don't think my step-bro in China really got the potential seriousness of it so I've been dropping subtle hints like "the fact the radiographer said 'go straight back to your GP' is very worrying" and so finally he has called and had a long chat with his dad.

Can't bear to think about what the next few months might bring. Just got to keep fingers crossed for now.

On the up side, it has distracted me from my annoyance that I got the date when my next period was due completely wrong, and have been convinced I was nearly a week late now (with uber-stresses every time I go to the loo, you all know the drill) when in fact it isn't due til tomorrow

Bubbaloo · 21/02/2008 23:16

So sorry Trib.
No advice from me either but just wanted to let you know I'm thinking of you.x
