Jonah-it's posts like yours that definately make me realise ds1 isn't ready yet, which I'm really quite pleased about.I'm sure it'll get easier though-best of luck!
VP-Hellooooooo.Nice to hear you're still around and keeping well.Size 7 is big I think,epecially for a girl.Ds1 is a size 6.
It has now been nearly 2 weeks since we ditched the dummy and it seems to be going ok.In all honesty I think I should have left it a bit longer but there's no going back now.Only downside(for me)is the afternoon nap has now gone out the window and all of a sudden he has become scared of the dark.He has also woken around 5am a couple of times and won't go back to bed, whereas before he would go straight back to sleep with the dummy.
Ds2 is absolutely gorgeous and has found his voice which is so funny. It sounds like he's already saying 'dadda' which I'm sure he's probably not.We also have a first tooth, which appeared yesterday.
Hope everyone else is well.xxx

Oh good. The feet aren't too freaky then .
DD2 hated the fireworks and pulled her woollen hat over her eyes and snuggled into her Daddy the whole way through. V sweet.
I do think it is worth waiting on the potty training, but now I have started I am determined we will get there....well sort of determined....more hopeful actually...

Bubbaloo · 08/11/2007 22:36

PD-All these name changes are very confusing, and it doesn't take much to confuse me.
Ds1 also loved the fireworks. We went to friends on Tuesday and I was dreading it,thinking he'd scream the place down.Instead he jumped up and down, very excited, bless him.
I love christmas and am a real big kid.I've finished the christmas shopping and there's already a house down my toad with it's tree up.Must say I'm very tempted to follow suit.Dh on the other hand is a real grinch when it comes to christmas-he hates it!
Had to smile tonight as after dh had bathed the boys I told ds1 to say goodnight to ds2.He went over to him in his cot and said 'sweet dreams Ethan' which I thought was so cute.

Bubbaloo · 08/11/2007 22:37

That toad is meant to be road, lol!

sfxmum · 09/11/2007 08:28

hello all, name changers nice to see you

we took dd to fireworks on saturday, they had a n early display for kids, so not too loud and dd loved it (pics on FB) and there was the bonus of the fairground being there too.

dd's feet are 6.5/ 7 and her wellies are an 8.

tribpot · 10/11/2007 10:55

Hello all! Can't keep up with all the name changing, but will just issue a general wave!

KVG/PeterDuck, Dec is good too, just let me know. Am trying to work out what we're going to do with ds when we go to see Strictly Come Dancing on tour in Feb, I think the MIL is going to come up.

Ds obviously has mini-feet compared to everyone else; he's a 5.5 and barely that. My childminder is very jealous at the speed his feet grow, he's only gone up a half size in a year I reckon! Both dh and I have small feet so I suspect he is taking after us.

Mixed results with potty training, he's quite good at doing wees at home but poos are best not spoken of.

Ds also obsessed with fireworks, asks me every morning where the bang bangs are! He's also decided to wake up (nightmares I think) every single night so that's fun.

No luck on the job front this week; I went for an external interview on Monday but decided it wasn't the role for me. They obviously felt the same as they turned me down, so fair's fair. An internal vacancy I applied for ages ago turns out now to have been binned. I do have another internal interview in a few weeks though so all hope is not lost. How I love being the major breadwinner - not!

PS I feel I must publicise here as well as on FB the mighty Björn Borg's Pants for Peace campaign

Katz · 15/11/2007 08:12

hi

nice to see some old faces back

have had horrendus tummy bug, with pain which can only be descibed as labour-like! ahh, just beginning to feel human again.

had a fab time at Disney, the girls loved it, will def take them back hopefully if we can save enough to Florida.

Potty training still on hold here but we have seen an improvement in dd2 since we changed her meds so am hoping to do so soon.

so what are all the little junies getting for christmas?

tribpot · 15/11/2007 19:59

Oh Katz you poor thing. Ds is ill again right now with a horrible tummy bug, it's puke central chez trib again How I hate the Season of the Puke.

We had an adventure in travelling - we went to Amsterdam last weekend on the ferry. Overall I would say it was successful, but the sea was so rough on the return journey that both dh and I - seasoned sailors both - were laid low with seasickness for the first time ever. My god it was grim.

And this ends trib's Official Puke Post! I will write more about the horror of travel with wheelchair and pushchair when I have the strength to recall it!

Have been approached about a contract; tis v difficult as I am really beginning to struggle with being away from ds so much. I kind of think if I went back to contracting I could take breaks and thus see more of him in a way. But might see even less of him whilst contracting if you see what I mean. I also think that sod's law says if I go contracting I will get pregnant again and if I stay permie I won't! And then I wonder again if we could possibly cope with another dc ...

Uki · 24/11/2007 09:51

Hi all

this thread has nearly been going a year, ah remember the pg days when it would fill up in about a month

i can't believe how fast it all goes, i'm now even contemplating a third very strange indeed.

Nice to see everyone one around, not sure i'll keep up with the name changes either. can I be blunt and ask why change names????

We are attempting training too, dh says he is not ready but i think well might as well have a go, he is always telling us 'change nappy now'
and the other night while we were in the bath together he said 'doing wee wee now' me says 'in the bath' and he says 'yes, and poo poo' me 'noooooo' and then he says 'no poo pooo just fart' talk about scary moment!!!

sorry for the poo story, had to post it somewhere though.

Trib- any luck with jobs?
sfx- HI are u still around, or have you changed names too?

the fire works sure sounded fun, and yes we are all very excited about Christmas and holidays here.

sfxmum · 24/11/2007 10:02

hi Uki fancy meeting you here
just doing my internet morning rounds, that is where my social life lies these days

glad to hear all well with you
here there is major Christmas excitement stoked by grandparents phoning regularly to check on her preferences

hope you are all well

lummox · 01/12/2007 10:23

Wow - ds1 is two and a half!

He's just started pre-school and is looking so grown up I have to look twice to be sure that I'm picking up the right child.

We've also had our first bout of croup which was rather scary but short lived.

Hope everyone else is well. Great excitement here as it's time to open the first door of dh's ds1's lego advent calendar.

Katz · 01/12/2007 10:37

hello lummox - yep can't quite believe how big dd2 is getting.

major panic here over advent calenders, as i couldn't find our build a navitity scene one, finally found it, thankfully.

so what are all dd's fellow junies getting for christmas, mine's getting a diego laptop and a small rocking horse as here main presents

sfxmum · 01/12/2007 14:17

hi

are all of yours as adept at saying NO I DON'T WANT IT as mine?

grandparents are giving her iggle piggle and doubtless countless other gifts, no idea what to get her yet but we sticking to books and apparently a Tipper truck, whatever that is, that she says she wants along with a wand and a fairy princess crown

think we will save money for her bedroom that we keep saying she will get at some unspecified time in the future

NAB3littlemonkeys · 01/12/2007 15:15

It has taken 3 weeks but DS2 has moved on to the toilet!!

I think we have had 6 accidents in total at how good he has done.

Is obsessed with anything to do with kitchens/cooking and his speech is great. (what a waste all my worrying was)

Katz · 01/12/2007 19:06

have to say i'm very tempted to take back the presents, dd2 has spent most of the day playing in a cardboard box, so far its been a boat, a cot, a trailer, a car and a spaceship.

tribpot · 03/12/2007 09:29

This is what you get for shopping too early Katz . I'm getting ds some more Thomas track as we have more engines than track at the moment, not quite sure how that happened. I think what he'd really like is another day out with Thomas and Friends, when he's not telling me "we're going on a boat [i.e. our recent trip to Amsterdam by ferry]" he's saying "we're going on Emily [i.e. something we did months ago at Bolton Abbey when Thomas was visiting]". Alas it doesn't seem that Thomas gets out much in the winter.

How is everyone doing? Potty training has been on hold as the Season of the Puke continues - even dh has been ill! This is unheard of!

It did hilarious lead to me having to take ds to the office on Friday to pick up my laptop. He was playing night night in the cupboard behind my desk whilst I checked my emails. One of my colleagues came over to ask me how you could identify the senior partner of a GP practice [as you do] - imagine his surprise when half way through my explanation the cupboard opened and a little boy's head popped out to say hello!

Katz · 03/12/2007 16:33

any northern mummies or southern mummies who'll travel!interested in a spa trip on the 23rd of Feb, £30 inc food, 7pm til 9.30pm all ours! let me know. Should add its in Sheffield, just off a tram!

lummox · 17/12/2007 13:14

Everything has gone so quiet that I assume all the Junies have been busy preparing everything for Christmas.

Hope that all the Jewish Junies had a lovely Chanukah - felt a bit like groundhog day at this end trying to stop ds2 grabbing/eating/bashing the candles. Feel sure we've been through all this before.....

NAB3littlemonkeys · 17/12/2007 14:11

Just a quick Hi. DS2 is asleep and DD has a friend here.

DS2's speech has come on brilliantly and has new words every week. Such a cutie too (except half an hour ago when he poohed his pants! In his defence he would normally have been in bed with a nappy on at that time.)

"Me want kitchen" is all he says when anyone mentions Christmas.

Bubbaloo · 17/12/2007 22:06

Evening,
Just a quickie to say Hi to everyone.
We're not too bad, although both boys have awful cough's at the mo,which isn't exactly fun.
Also having a nightmare with estate agents. Was meant to be completing next month and now everything's collapsed!
Ds2 is now saying daddy which is so cute and ds1 is still driving me mad with his not eating and showing absolutely no interest at all in the potty.
Looking forward to christmas.Ds1's main pressie is a large wheely bug and we've got ds2 the Fisher Price animal sounds train. Not looking forward to the living room looking like a toy shop though.
Lummox-lol at the candle bashing.Hope you had a good Chanukah. We've got a tree up instead.
Hope everyone else is well.x

lummox · 18/12/2007 06:57

we've got a tree too, Bubbs. And advent calendars, deccies and Christmas presents to go with the Chanukah presents they've already had.

I'm such a soft touch.

sfxmum · 18/12/2007 10:58

hello all

lummox double celebrations lovely

bubbaloo - so cute those first words, was looking at old videos of dd yesterday when she was starting to walk and talk.best of luck with house matters

we have a tree and last Saturday went to Kew Gardens in the evening for a carol service out in the open on a frosty night, very festive but we needed serious defrosting.

dd has been potty trained for a while incl no nappy at night but occasionally she does 'protest' wees with trousers on or just plain on the floor. we are going through a huge 'I do it' & NO phase, quite tiring.

otherwise she is quite good fun

I am looking forward to heading up north next weekend and spend Christmas with inlaws.

hope you are all well
