Podmog, sorry to hear you are feeling low. Just scrolled back to find your details (so you know I'm not a stalker btw) your LO is only 4 weeks, its not so unsual not to have regained his birthweight. You said he was alert and lively, he must therefore be feeding often with plenty of wet nappies ?

Have you tried lying him on a change mat without a nappy to collect a sample ? My boys are always generous with their wee squirts then !

Dont forget these charts were created with data from FF babes, and yet HV put so much emphasis on them. Try to be reassured that they only have babies best interest at heart.

EandH - if you are already about Gary, I wont mention Becks then .. very big

Shimmer · 27/02/2007 15:09

Hattie your cute pictures inspired me and I've just put some of mine on my profile too.

I was going to say it was good to hear from others who don't have a routine either but after an absolutely rubbish night and a load of screaming this morning (obviously because he was tired because he hardly slept all night!!) I have decided we must start some kind of routine for him. At the moment he sleeps whenevr he wants in the day time, but I just consulted my Annabel Karmel first year planner and she says that by 8 weeks they should only be sleeping for about 3 hours during the daytime. F sleeps way more than that so I'm going to be strict and not let him sleep too much ( unless he cries too much in which case I'll probably just give in...)

Might even try getting him dressed in the daytime too. At the moment he does tend to live in sleepsuits most of the time. He does have a bath every day though!

ellieandhattie · 27/02/2007 15:29

ooooo tell me about becks pulease he is the future father of any more children i may possibly have

Hattie2 · 27/02/2007 15:55

Great pics shimmer love your stripey bouncy chair!

There is no way I could only let ds sleep for 3 hours a day, he must have had at least 3.5 already, is asleep at the mo and am hoping he'll have another hour. Doesn't seem to affect his night time sleep as he slept through from midnight to 6.30am last night fingers crossed it wasn't a one off

wilkie50 · 27/02/2007 16:51

I'm back - laptop returned in record time but everything on it lost. Can't think about it or i'll cry.

I'VE GOT TAKE THAT TICKETS ALREADY - NAAA NA NA NAAA NAAA!! My sis's BIL works for a large bank who have been given a load of corporate tickets, best seats in house - Manchester arena 11th Dec! Whoooooo!!!!!!

I have tried to read all posts but faaaaar to much chatting ladies.

EAH - sorry you're having a shit time. Big hugs.

Jacob is still better. Not as good as initally after seeing the CO but better. We have our second appt on Fri.

So at some of these night time sleepers. J goes down at 9ish and then feeds 1.30am and 5.30am. He feeds 4oz every 3hrs during day. Has developed reflux so has started on infant gaviscon today.

RGee · 27/02/2007 17:18

Busy afternoon on MN. Must be raining....

Podmog - don't worry too much; my lo didn't regain her birth weight until 4 weeks. Last week (7 weeks) the bruiser put on 14 oz. Good luck with catching a wee sample though - sounds v entertaining (sorry, not helpful)

RGee · 27/02/2007 17:20

Laughalot - Mark is my favourite too. Was gutted that I didn't touch him !!

trixymalixy · 27/02/2007 17:25

Wilkie, am so at the TT tickets!!

Lovely pics shimmer and hattie!

We have no routine either, DS just does whatever he wats during the day and stays up with us until we go to bed.

Have discovered today that the noise of the dishwasher sends him to sleep. I's not very practical for us to sleep in the kitchen, but might consider it if he decides to be awake all night again !!

ellieandhattie · 27/02/2007 18:08

wilkie welcome back at tt tickets and at jacobs reflux

DD's are currentky driving me mad hattie decided to scream for the last hour (not used to it as she only ever whimpers when shes hungary) and ellie is getting tired, wingy and currently shreiking because she wants her dummy and shes not allowed it till bedtime. 38 minutes till bed time

ellieandhattie · 27/02/2007 18:10

whingy not wingy

also forgot podmog to say hattie was 6lb13 at birth 7lb 4oz at 4 weeks and only just nudging 9lb at 7 weeks so wouldnt worry to much, compared to ellie she is so slow at putting weight on but shes feeding well and gaving wet and dirty nappies so i am not to concerned

wilkie50 · 27/02/2007 18:25

Jacob is a hefty 10lb 5oz at 6 weeks (7lb at birth). He is moving through the lines on the centile graphs! Hee hee. HV pleased with his progress though.

Have managed to catch up on most posts now - god you lot are randy! DH and I have, ahem, messed about but the snake has not been in the cave IYKWIM . Got a condom out the other night in the heat of the moment but chickened it at the last second. Poor DH - he was so excited (in more ways than one) and then I said 'Eeeeek!! No, I can't, I can't...' Bless. Ah, I do like to share TMI!!

LadyTophamHatt · 27/02/2007 19:32

Snake...cave....OMG....LOLOLOLOLOLOLOL

Wilkie you nutter!

Theres nowt to be worried about though mate, my fandango was hanging in tatters after the birth and it's been fine for us.
I did ask Dh is if felt any different and he said it didn't but I really don't believe him...I mean it really was a ragedy, tatty, ole' mess down there so it's got to be at least a bit baggy
Still, it all worked perfectly for me

LadyTophamHatt · 27/02/2007 19:36

UD, my cousins little girl had 4 teeth by 4 months so Zac could deffo be teething.

Ds3 (or was it DS2....ummmm...) was always sick when teething and a sore bum is a often a sign of teething too.

Poor little chap...hope he's feeling better soon.

wilkie50 · 27/02/2007 19:41

LTH - heh heh heh [wicked laugh]!!

Might attempt it tonight........then again....

theUrbanDryad · 27/02/2007 19:50

well his chuntering turned into full-blown howling! but i went up there and did the old forehead/nose stroking trick and i think he may actually be asleep now [fingers crossed emoticon] DH is cooking dinner - smells mighty fine! mind you, i could eat a scabby horse right now!

ellieandhattie · 27/02/2007 19:53

oh poor zac hope he feels better soon

wilkie50 · 27/02/2007 19:55

UD - there are loads of viruses going round, maybe he has picked one up, poor little thing. Not nice. I always feel sorry for them when they aren't very well cos they can't tell you what they want to make them feel better

vinorouge · 27/02/2007 20:08

Well Ellen has been feeding every half an hour since lunchtime which is making my boobs sore and driving me mad cos as son as I think she's asleep so I cando something she's crying and chewing her hand again....my baby manual says there is a growth spurt at 6 wks so this must be it unless I am developing a monster feeder.

Oh I want take that tickets now!

Despite the horrid weather here we've had a busy day with baby cafe this morning and mum n baby group this afternoon. I surprised myself with how much I enjoyed singing wheels on the bus!

ellieandhattie · 27/02/2007 20:22

we could have a meet up if we all went to the same tt concert at this rate

wilkie50 · 27/02/2007 21:07

LTH - have you seen this thread in your honour?

ellieandhattie · 27/02/2007 21:32

I have bought yet another new pushchair which makes 4 in our house (plus the one at gatwick airport that we never picked up!)

travel system

double buggy

ellies m&p pliko (bit redundant and going into loft)

new one which is now my favourite as its the first pushcahir i have purchased that has pink in it (always had neutral ones in case 2nd baby was a boy!!)

and I am that sad that I have posted a picture onmy profile (alomg with about 9 others!!) what do you think of it?????

theUrbanDryad · 28/02/2007 08:08

EAH -i like tht buggy! but what do you do with ellie when hattie's in the buggy? does she walk?

i've already decided that if i am pg again (please god, no!) i'll put Zac in a stroller and have the new baby in a sling. do you guys think i should do a test?
