We're into thread 2! Can't believe our babies have been here this long!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
clumsypots · 06/05/2017 07:36

Hey cud! My dd is starting secondary school in September Shock I can't believe she is old enough!

cudbywestrangers · 20/05/2017 22:22

Crikey!!! I bet that feels like it's happened far too fast!

Hope everyone is well. I'm feeling quite proud of myself. St has gone away (Thursday to Tuesday) and so far we have survived without too much trauma!!!!! We had ds's best friend from nursery to play this afternoon so I had a nice chat with her mum while the older ones played together. I'm sure lack of adult company is what makes me struggle more than almost anything else except sleep deprivation! That said, I thought I'd had the biggest fail when I couldn't find the rabbit that goes everywhere at bedtime... and there was a bumped head from falling off a chair. And my washing is still hanging outside so not only got rained on but is now darked on. Never mind!!!

Babycud (not really a baby any more Shock toddlecud????) Is good at the moment. He's started saying some (almost understandable) words. The latest are "let's go" and "1, 2, 3 yay" followed by lots of clapping. All very cute and helps to distract from him throwing everything!

Right, promised myself an early night so best get into bed!!!

HandbagFan · 04/06/2017 21:01

Oh my goodness. RefusIng naps, refusing proper meals, banging the television, poking the cat in the eye, going rigid during nappy changes, standing up in the bath, climbing over me, pulling my top down... when did my baby become a toddler and how do I cope with a toddler?!

clumsypots · 04/06/2017 21:28

handbag one word.......wine

Sorry Ds is exactly the same I can't believe they are toddlers already they were so tiny 5 seconds ago! We have had 2 eggs on his head this weekend! Nursery are going to think I am beating him up. Especially with dd having to go to hospital tomorrow because she bruises too easily so they want to do some tests.

Ds was watching some fireworks last night with a massive grin on his face saying 'wow'.

cud toddlecud is doing well stringing sentences together! The most we get is 'up down' at the moment.

Troika · 13/06/2017 20:49

Hi everyone,
It's been quite a while, sorry for dropping off the thread. Been struggling a little bit, I don't think it's pnd but circumstances. We moved house at the end of the year to a stupid massive townhouse with too many stairs and that's in need of renovation. Plus it was an absolute filth pit when we moved in, but the kind of grime that's worn in so no amount of scrubbing and bleaching makes it clean. I hate not feeling on top of things and feeling inadequate so have had a couple of big meltdowns over not coping and not being able to get stuff done like other people seem to be able to.

Going back to work has been going well (apart from the ridiculous number of days off I've had to have due to poorly baby) but where I work is closing in July so I am being made redundant.

Dd2 finally started walking at about 14 months, she runs around everywhere now and especially loves trying to play football with ds. She's a nightmare at his matches as just wants to get on the pitch.

DD1 got her first choice secondary school so pleased with that, although she doesn't know anyone else going so she is a little nervous.

Oh and I took a pregnancy test on Sunday and it was positive! It's a couple of months earlier than we were thinking and we weren't properly trying yet (but not doing anything to prevent it either). My periods have been weird so not entirely sure of due date but think it may be the same as dd2! Not sure this is going to help with the being on top of things and coping...
Now I really want to stop breastfeeding dd2 (had got down to bedtime and in the night only but illness means she's been having it more often). Can't quite believe I'm going to be a mother of 4!!

clumsypots · 14/06/2017 00:04

Congratulations troika that's wonderful news!!! Flowers

I'm pleased dd1 got offered her first place too, is she going on an induction day soon? My dd is really nervous too and there are loads of her friends going with her. It's such a big change for them and us!

I hope you are feeling better in yourself soon, we are here to listen if you want to talk about things. Have some Cake and Brew

Troika · 14/06/2017 11:00

Thanks clumsy Smile

HandbagFan · 28/06/2017 21:05

Comgratulations Troika! Lovely news! I was actually wondering yesterday whether any of the ladies from this group would be onto the next one by now!

And please always feel you can post here - things can be difficult at times but you're never alone.

DS still not walking independently yet, but did finally learn to crawl a few weeks ago, weeks after starting to cruise. His balance is quite good, it's a confidence thing I think.

Troika · 01/07/2017 09:12

Thanks handbag. Full blown nausea now so wondering wtf I have done!

Dd2 is so cute at the moment, seems to be learning new stuff all the time. She is really bossy too (and loud), when we're leaving the house she shouts ''urry up! Ba (bag), ooo (shoes), ds, dd, ow" and huffs dramatically before forcing anything they're not being quick enough with into their hands Grin. Can't think where she got that from!

She also loves tidying up and picks everything up off the floor and puts it in the bin. Lost a couple of items that weren't actually rubbish that way.

Clumsy is your dd's transition day on Tuesday? Dd's is. I hope it goes well for her. Think it will be good for her to actually get in there and meet some people.

clumsypots · 01/07/2017 11:23

Oh troika I hope the nausea passes quickly for you. Are you feeling any better in yourself now? I have recently been told I have pnd, anxiety and OCD (just for the triple whammy obviously) I have started a course of cbt which I am hoping will help eventually, it's not doing much at the moment other then making me worse but at least getting help is a step in the right direction for me.

Dd's transition day is Wednesday, I have been told in no uncertain terms that I can take her in the morning but I am not allowed to pick her up. She has grudgingly let me be in the house when she gets home though Hmm

Ds is very mischievous I think we are going to have our hands full with him. He loves teasing people and giving them the oh I'm so cute smile after. He has come out in a horrible rash this week that nursery thought was chicken pox but dr said it was too big so it's a viral rash that is contagious and usually lasts 1 week but may be several months and to keep him off nursery until it goes. I have been told that it doesn't look like the viral rash that lasts a year though. What am I supposed to do about work if he can't go to nursery for several months?

Troika · 31/07/2017 16:45

Oh clumsy, poor you. How is the cbt going? Are you on any ADs?

Nausea was awful for a few weeks then died off. Also had some spotting so a bit worried about what the scan is going to show...fingers crossed it's not a mmc.

Dd2 is suddenly very independent, trying to help her with anything is met with "No! Away! Me!' Very frustrating when we just need to get out the door!

clumsypots · 31/07/2017 17:21

Hey troika I have felt better the last week or so so I think it must be working. They have put me on ads and beta blockers for the panic attacks.

I'm glad the nausea has died down for you, it is rough. When is your scan? I'm sure everything will be fine.

How did the transition day go?

Troika · 01/08/2017 11:51

Pleased you're starting to feel better. It's good you're having the cbt too as I think it makes more of a difference long term than the ads.

Dd loved her transition day and came home buzzing but then went to an after school club thing they held for year 6's and no one spoke to her so that made her a bit nervous! She's so small for her age too so I'm really nervous for her! How did your dd get on?

clumsypots · 01/08/2017 12:02

Oh bless her. Dd was very nervous but she had a lovely time and has been texting a girl she met that's going to be in her class. It's such a big step!

Troika · 13/08/2017 12:06

Had a scan on Friday as had more bleeding. Showed a mmc. Foetus was only 7 weeks Sad My worst sickness was between 7 and 10 weeks which is a bit of a kick in the teeth. Am having surgery on Tuesday although I am bleeding and cramping quite a bit now so it may happen naturally before then

clumsypots · 14/08/2017 17:23

Oh troika sending lots of unmumsnetty hugs and FlowersCakeBrew to you. We are here to talk if you want to let it all out. I will be thinking of you tomorrow.

HandbagFan · 16/08/2017 07:01

Sorry Troika, I've only just seen this. I'm so sorry to hear your news. How did yesterday go? Thinking of you lots.

Troika · 17/08/2017 11:22

Thank you. It all went OK. Mc the foetus naturally on Monday evening (so much pain, I swear it was worse than labour) but still had the procedure on Tuesday as scan showed retained products. I'm doing ok.

Dd2 rewarded me last night by sleeping through the night which is very rare!

clarabellski · 21/08/2017 09:03

Hi all
Saw handbag posting on another thread and then I remembered this one and wondered if folk were still posting.

I'm sorry to hear about your miscarriage Troika. I hope you're recovering Flowers

I can relate to the independent toddler. DS is a little tyrant at the moment. Hoping it is the terrible 2s come early and he grows out of it soon!

Troika · 29/08/2017 12:06

Aargh toddlers!

I am absolutely tearing my hair out with dd2. She has developed a constant wail, a month ago she'd say 'milk, bed, teeth, out' etc so I knew what she wanted but now she just wails and I have to guess but she doesn't even say yes or no to help me out Angry She's just cut one molar and is cutting 2 more so hopefully that's all it is.

On the plus side she is currently a super sleeper, a 2 hour plus nap in the afternoon and mostly sleeping through. .

clumsypots · 29/08/2017 21:52

I'm with you on that troika! How are you getting on now? Are you feeling better?

Hi clara we missed you!

Troika · 30/08/2017 10:24

Glad I'm not the only one clumsy! One more tooth cut yesterday so hopefully not too much more grumpy baby!

I'm doing ok. I think the surgical management was the right decision for me, it has helped me draw a line and move on if that makes sense. Are you getting on ok with the cbt etc?

Can't believe dd1 starts secondary school next week, she's fine. I'm freaking out!

clumsypots · 30/08/2017 10:47

I keep thinking that but he just seems to constantly be teething!! Still not sorted his rash either so off to hospital for tests at the end of next month.

I'm glad it has helped you and you are feeling a bit better now. Cbt is helping but it's going to be a long process, panic attacks are getting further apart though so that's good Smile

I know I cannot believe they are old enough! I am also realising how clueless I am as to what is cool for shoes and bags etc Blush

Troika · 30/08/2017 15:52

I know, everything I've bought her I'm worried she'll get picked on for Blush. The uniform seems so strict so hopefully not much room for error there (although that makes me worry she'll get told off for something being wrong!)

clumsypots · 30/08/2017 18:44

And me! I'm stressing more than she is! I must try and get a bit more cool obviously!
