Oh no! Like WL's idea.

We've somehow managed to avoid headlice so far despite dd being in year two now. I can only guess it's because they have such small classes there's less children to spread them?! Although my head is itching now I'm talking about it...

I really want to hand my notice in but still don't have that unconditional offer. They want references but my current employer won't do it. I think my manager will but it won't be on headed paper.... Also have to wait for my dbs to come back but that'll be clear... And have to have a check with a nurse that I have a BCG scar. Humph. Would it be silly to hand in my notice before I get the unconditional offer? I've sent off for my ID badge and everything they only reason for them to retract the offer is if I get a bad reference or am a secret criminal.

Great now then drown him in teatree beasty

Barbeasty · 17/02/2017 21:14

It's funny, we've been using teatree and eucalyptus shampoo since DD had nits in reception, and not a sign of nits. A has had dandruff for a couple of weeks so we used a different shampoo this week and hey presto, nits. I can't find any sign on DD and we had carried on with the anti-nit shampoo for her.

tangled we went to the science museum a couple of weeks ago and did pay for the wonderlab which was great - all hands on and stuff to interest dd1 at 9 and T at 4.
We went to the monument and the museum of London yesterday as dd2s school topic is the great fire of London. Museum exhibition was v good but quite expensive.
T is such a clingy jealous beast! Obvs she's wonderful too but she is totally suffocating me. She wants to be on me all the time, even more so when trying to do anything with dd1/2. Taking dd1 out for some 121 this morning so a little break ahead.

WreckTangled · 19/02/2017 07:40

WL dd did the fire of London last term and went to see the exhibition.

I think we might go to the sea life centre. They're doing snail and the whale and it's less than £30 for us all to get in. Then I can use clubcard vouchers for lunch.

Barbeasty · 19/02/2017 14:51

DD did fire of London last year and we went up the monument and saw most of the museum of London exhibition for free this time last year, then went and saw Fire Fire over Christmas. It's a bit of a swiz that they've taken all the free stuff about it downsrairs and charge for it!

Yes I know beasty I was a bit harumph but I guess with all the funding cuts it might be necessary.
tangled snail and the whale sounds awesome - I have been saying to dh that I'm the snail with the itchy foot atm! Is that at he London aquarium?

WLmum · 19/02/2017 17:20

Dh is going out tonight - I am going to get the smalls into bed, then have a long silent bath! Dd1 is going to have to entertain herself for a bit.
Dh is being v good about me needing a bit of escape as he knows how much the dds are 'on' me - just told him I'm booking in for a mani/pedi (got some bday vouchers - yay) on sat am in advance of the ball we are going to in the eve (school fundraiser so not fancy) wouldn't it be a dreadful shame if I had to sit in the coffee shop opposite for half an hour to let the varnish dry!

WreckTangled · 19/02/2017 17:22

Yes WL but just realised the cheap tickets are only Brighton...

Barbeasty · 19/02/2017 19:38

That sounds like a plan WL

We're home, children in bed but not sleeping because both fell asleep in the car.

I'm shattered, but it was a really good weekend. Parliament is well worth a visit if you get the chance. And both of them enjoyed story time at the Shard, especially DD who won a fox teddy.

Good to hear beasty. I am lucky enough to have been invited by a friend for a tour of the Houses of Parliament and tea in the House of Lords with Baroness Tanni Grey-Thompson!
Dd2&3 were meltdown extraordinaire tonight so this quiet bath is even more called for.

Barbeasty · 19/02/2017 21:23

Sounds fab WL

Both DC are still awake. They're going to be a mess tomorrow, especially DD after a day back at school.

Shit. I wrote a nice reply earlier. It then my phone died. My own fault!

WL I hope you had a lovely bath

Wreck bastard sea life and their crazy prices!

Beasty I think I would move out if my kids stayed up later!!

Tonight DD and DS were in bed exhausted at 18:30. DS actually fell asleep while we were using the nebuliser.
We actually called an ambulance for him on Friday, thanks to their advice and the huge amount of medication we had at home for him we didn't need them in the end. But I have never seen DS look so ill. It was horrid!

I'm very glad to say he now seems to be on the mend!!

WLmum · 19/02/2017 22:37

Oh no nutella. Poor boy. Must have been very scary for you all. Is he generally asthmatic or is it all down to a current illness?
Lovely bath, but then agreed dd1 could come and watch tv with me for 10 mins. Flicking through channels to find something appropriate - 'what's embarrassing bodies'? She asks, so I pause for a second and there's a close up post trans foof! Right then.

WreckTangled · 20/02/2017 06:46

WL GrinGrinGrin

Nutella that sounds horrible!

First day of half term here....we have to go food shopping. Joy.

WLmum · 20/02/2017 07:25

First day back to school here Sad

WreckTangled · 20/02/2017 07:29

Yes it's odd how the half terms are different this year. I know some people with dc at primary in Sussex and secondary in Surrey so they've been off at different times.

MrsNutella · 20/02/2017 07:38

WL there is a long family history of asthma on my side of the family so it's something I think we need to talk about with his dr. Although I'd say he is prone to reacting to colds/coughs in an asthmatic way I wouldn't say he is generally....

MrsNutella · 23/02/2017 08:22

Oh dear, DH is now sick. That means this is really really bad! Confused

Barbeasty · 23/02/2017 08:33

Oh no Nutella!
With asthma there can be various triggers (I think). Some people will be triggered with allergies, air quality (smoke, pollution), exercise, and for some the trigger can be illness. Mine is definitely triggered by colds etc, and manifests first as a cough rather than breathing issues.

WLmum · 23/02/2017 22:15

nutella oh no - your ally is down! Last woman standing.

MrsNutella · 24/02/2017 07:40

WL I'm a horrible wife. I'm pissed off at him, in a way, for being sick with what I had a couple of weeks ago. I think I dealt with it well... maybe I didn't.... but I wish he could at least help with basic stuff like the washing.... although thats not just for the moment. That's always!!

How do people go to work and not live neck deep in dust and crud and dirty washing at home? I am knackered and I'm pretty sure I could be doing this better.... Confused

WLmum · 25/02/2017 07:23

nutella I am also a horrible wife! I have no patience or sympathy for dh when he's ill - he just annoys me! I'm always convinced that he's not as ill as he thinks - even when he actually is ill! Some years ago he had a hernia repaired - 2 weeks off work, very surprised at how sore it was etc etc. Did I get 2 weeks off 'work' when I had c section with dd2&3? Nope, juts had to get on with feeding and caring for a newborn and dds!
I'm mixed on the clean tidy house - since going back to bigger job I've had to ascent lower standards - I don't like it but I'm not cleaning at 9.30. Basics are done and there's not dirty stuff around, but no dusting gets down ever and there are always piles of stuff around. It drives me mental but there's just not enough hours.

WreckTangled · 25/02/2017 07:26

Dh is awful when he's ill too. He gets so grumpy and it pisses me off.

I went out last night. Think I'm still drunk.

WLmum · 26/02/2017 01:03

Good work tangled
We went to the school fundraiser ball tonight - couple of hundred people there - as soon as I walk in the chair of the pta is wearing the same dress as me. It was from monsoon in 1999/200 ffs!
