So we finally got the pedals put on DS's balance bike. He is off cycling all by himself. Doesn't need us for anything.
Yeah, we possibly should have done it a bit sooner!

WLmum · 10/01/2017 22:22

Great idea nutella will get a video. Wasn't that pleased with 'Lily the slug' this morning when T accidentally hit me on the head with it!
Great work on the bike there little nut!
Will look for a pic to post.

halestone · 10/01/2017 22:52

Hi everyone, sorry I've been missing for such a long time. No excuses except work being mad busy and It kind of went out of my mind. WLs picture reminded me to come back.

How did the birthdays go? And Christmas? H loved both although christmas caused alot of questions. I.e how did santa wrap everyone's present? How does he know if I am always good? Was he good when he was little?

WLmum · 10/01/2017 23:01

Hey hales! Hope all is well and work is mad busy in a good way. I love H's curiosity. She's a smarty.

halestone · 10/01/2017 23:22

It was just busy because of Christmas and new year celebrations. It's calmed down now and won't pick up till mid February. I tried to go to work tonight but the taxi wouldn't start. Oh well back in the house and ring the owner tomorrow to fix or swop it.

She's a funny kid. She's asked to start gymnastics so this weekend is her 1st lesson. It turns out that it is a brilliant sleep bribe. As I keep telling her she needs lots of sleep to get energy for gymnastics haha.

WLmum · 11/01/2017 22:18

Of course hales - it all feels so far away now. I hope they were sweet drunk fares and not too gross!

halestone · 12/01/2017 15:46

WL most of them are brilliant I love drunk people. I only had one who when I asked him for the money up front (he looked a scally) kept telling me how he warned money than all my family ever will. He didn't like it when I replied it shouldn't be a problem giving me the money now then should it.

MrsNutella · 12/01/2017 15:58

hales good for you! Those kinds of people are usually such idiots.

Did you all have a good Christmas? Nice to see you on here again Smile

We finally have a cheeky VPN connection so that we can watch some UK telly. We discovered "how to train your dragon" over Christmas. DS is now becoming fascinated by dragons. I have to admit I really enjoyed the films too!

MrsNutella · 12/01/2017 20:11

Oooohhhhb look at the forecast for tonight Grin DS will be happy if it's white out tomorrow!

nutella we had enough snow to make a snow girl - by running round after dinner in the dark collecting snow from cars in buckets and running it to the back garden! Just as well we seized the moment as it was gone by morning.
I met Cressida cowell (dragon author) once - she was lovely

WLmum · 16/01/2017 13:11

Help me resist the urge to stuff my face with chocolate and crap! Trying to finally get rid of the jelly belly, goal of 7lbs but scoffing is so nice!

MrsNutella · 16/01/2017 15:20

Sorry, I'm no help. We are finally done with birthdays and parties and I may have finished a decent sized piece of birthday cake off this morning. Well, it was elevenses and it needed eating, didn't it?....

WLmum · 16/01/2017 20:48

I was good and I didn't gorge! Had a huge salad for dinner. It's a constant battle of what do I want more - rid of the jelly belly or crisps/chocolate/cake!

MrsNutella · 17/01/2017 06:20

DS sleep sort of sleep talking in the night "can I watch some telly" GrinConfused I got him up for a wee, that seemed to help him settle back off.

MrsNutella · 17/01/2017 16:02

I love "Hey Dougie" so much i might start a thread about it Grin

And it is so cold here the frost is mental!

MrsNutella · 17/01/2017 19:32

Duggee! Blooming auto correct!

WLmum · 17/01/2017 20:50

Great pic - and a big duggie hug for you!

halestone · 17/01/2017 23:13

Hardly any snow at all here. That frost looks amazing.

WL someone told me to put a picture of my body that I hated on the fridge. To give me the incentive not to binge. (It didn't work for me but may work for you)

MrsNutella · 18/01/2017 11:36

WL do watch it? It got me when the kids were watching one about a shape sorter. Grin

Hales good to see you! The frost is stunning, but it stays all day. That pic is actually taken at about 3pm on the way home from Kindergarten with DS. So.... it's cold all day long! Confused

halestone · 18/01/2017 21:14

Nutella that's what I remember about Germany, really cold winters and lovely warm summers. I do miss it. I would love to take H to where I use to live one day.

H has been the whingest child ever today. I have no clue what's up with her but everything has involved tears and Drama. I hope she sleeps tonight Wink

WLmum · 19/01/2017 09:49

nutella we used to watch it a lot - I loved it! T now likes to watch hideous my little pony crap and the big 2 are obsessed with some Australian mermaid show.
I just keep reminding myself that I want to fit in a dress 5/6 weeks from now. Really don't want to fork out for another one. Not sure how realistic it is but so far doing quite well on the low sugar and exercise front. I know is drop a few lbs if I did the 5+2 but can't bring myself to at the moment.

MrsNutella · 19/01/2017 15:32

hales the winter lasts forever!!! But yes, when summer arrives it is usually hot and sunny. I'd love to live in the south again really, or at least a much sunnier part of the country. Grin

It's never boring in our house. DS came to me while I was on the loo to tell me
"Sand looks like flour, I licked sand off the floor. Or it looks like salt" either way his face told me he didn't much like it.

Then DD and DH get home. DD wants a mint tea I don't really know why and I ask her to ask DH if he would like coffee. Instead she talks to him about mint tea and when he says he would really like a coffee she burst into tears Confused

Fortunately I was able to console her with the promise of a mint tea.

Barbeasty · 19/01/2017 15:42

WL is that Mako Murmaids? A and DD liked that. He seems to mostly watch either something called Mia and Me, or a YouTube thing of Peppa Pig toys acting out episodes with a Mexican accent.

We had to fill in a questionnaire for preschool and ask A what resources he'd like them to have. He asked for a toy penguin and a real tarantula. Then he went in the next day and asked if they'd got the tarantula yet.

Hahabeasty! We've been through the weird peppa pig toys on you tube too -so odd. Dds found one about peppa and George having diarrhoea - watched it hysterically over and over again. The mermaid prog is called h2o just add water.
nutella hang on to those crazy conversations - things are getting a bit real in our house - dd1 asked me what 9/11 was on the walk home from school yesterday. We've also recently talked about hitler and Amy winehouse.
