Congratulations shield, lovely news!
marmite my Eleanor was exactly the same for feeds last night! Saw the midwife yesterday and she said Eleanor is within her 10% weight loss but she's coming back on Friday to reweigh her as I think she was getting close to the 10% Confused I was a little bit concerned but she said everything else is fine and that I'd know if she had any concerns.
I had a proper full on crying moment last night- DH had just come back down from putting DD1 to bed and it hit me I haven't put her to bed since having Eleanor and how I missed doing it. We all used to go up together and had a lovely little routine and it was a nice way for the three of us to spend a bit of time together after a busy day, and it hit me it wouldn't just be the three of us again. Which made me feel so guilty, so that upset me even more. It's just an adjustment that there's now four of us and I know we'll settle into a new routine. Sorry for the rambling, not sure if that makes sense!

MyNameIsSuz · 24/03/2016 08:09

Oh charley I feel that. I did ds's bath last night and it was lovely, a little bit of normality returning and reassuring that we could still be close. It won't be forever, this stage is so full on.

Sylvie finally slept at night, after an evening cluster feed until ten she had feeds at 1, 2.30 and 3.30, went down in between, and then slept until 7 Smile Such an improvement from the night before! Still feel quite tired but no longer like I'm dying.

IndomitabIe · 24/03/2016 11:23

Shh, I'm at work. But just realised I'm getting quite uncomfortable! In a kind of intermittent way. Not sure if it's Octo-baby stretching or something more...

QforCucumber · 24/03/2016 12:19

Oooo good luck indom! How exciting!

MyNameIsSuz · 24/03/2016 12:26

Ooh indomitable exciting!!!

Crispylicious · 24/03/2016 12:37

indom!!! How exciting and well timed re mat pay!

shield congrats on baby Zoe. Lovely name.

Hope the cluster feeders allowed their mummies some sleep last night.

No signs at all here, not even a twinge. Guess I'm only 2 days overdue but have a feeling I'm in for the long run... If I am induced, it'll coincide with the Drs strike. Really hope they don't refuse to induce me cos of it!

BumpPower · 24/03/2016 13:07

Ooooo indom how exciting! Make sure you make a grand exit!!!

BeautifulLiar · 24/03/2016 13:15

Ooh keep us updated Indom!

Crispy I was due to be induced during the strikes and the midwife said it would absolutely not be affected.

Congrats shieldbug on your first little girl!

Sorry to those feeling guilty about older DC. I actually don't this time weirdly! But they've got each other to play with so I guess it's different...

IndomitabIe · 24/03/2016 13:44

Oh, sorry. It seems to have gone! Must've been wind! Blush

BeautifulLiar · 24/03/2016 14:01

What you like, Indomitable!

1frenchfoodie · 24/03/2016 14:43

Baby Eloise May was born at 00.25 on Monday at 40+15. Hanging on to avoid induction didn't work - got to 4cm then had waters broken followed by syncotin drip. Made things intense but fast - 9h from initial examination to delivery. Four days in hospital to get an infection under control followed but I am finally home. She is, naturally in my eyes, beautiful.

Woodenmouse · 24/03/2016 15:46

Congratulations French Flowers

marmiteandcheeseplease · 24/03/2016 16:17

Congrats French! Grin

indom hope last day hasn't been too brutal and your BH and uncomfortableness turn into something soon!

Had my appt at bf clinic today. She didn't think it was tongue tie and had a poke around E's mouth and looked at how much movement she has in her tongue up/down, left/right and in/out. She said problem was in my latching which isn't deep enough (as am struggling to get E to open wide enough) and showed me some techniques to try to encourage deeper latch. Have another appt next week in case things don't improve. Have come home and tried to repeat what she showed me - latch feels better but still not right so think it's a waiting game.

IndomitabIe · 24/03/2016 16:31

Congratulations 1french!

Hope the latch improves, marmite.

Finally finished work! Lesson 2 got suspiciously uncomfortable (and I had to tell someone, so without freaking my colleagues out it had to be you!) but resolved itself. I'm supposed to be seeing old friends for dinner later. Think I better have a nap first at least!

magpiedreams · 24/03/2016 18:06

Congratulations sheild and 1french!

Marmite glad you got to have a proper check to exclude tongue tie etc, hope it improves, you sound like you're doing amazingly.

Well done indom, you've earned your "yeah, I worked until past my due date" story well and truly Grin. Hoping you get an appropriate mix of rest and not waiting too much longer now.

Nothing happening at all here, though DCs have broken up and DH has finished work now for 2.5 weeks so tonight would be a good night. BUT I either need a

MyNameIsSuz · 24/03/2016 19:54

I'm feeling a bit shit after getting back from a hospital appointment to check Sylvie's hips Sad one is slightly shallow so we need to do various things to keep her legs froggy, like wearing two nappies at a time with a muslin inside, and they weren't happy with her feet. She was born with slight tallipes which the midwife thought was just due to her position in the womb and would right itself, but they said it won't correct itself and we have to go back in a few to get plaster casts on them. I'm just feeling unutterably shit about it, both the thought of the numerous upcoming hospital appointments and also that there's something wrong with my beautiful baby. Dh doesn't understand why I'm upset, he thinks it's nothing.

marmiteandcheeseplease · 24/03/2016 20:10

Sorry to hear that suz. DD1 had tallipes and we had to go to physio to get it checked out and were told to do special exercises. MW told us Eleanor had tallipes too so we've been doing the same when we remember. Casts sounds very stressful, am sure it will be worth it in the end but hope you're ok Flowers

magpie hope baby holds out till Sat!

Congrats on finishing work indom. Hopefully baby comes soon Smile

nixxxy · 24/03/2016 21:30

I'm on the induction ward right now. Quite chilled out really, there's only us and one other couple in and we won't get anyone else till possibly 7am tomorrow now. DH can stay the night and has a big comfy reclinable chair. Had my first pessary pill at 17:30 - waiting to get checked over again at 23:00 ish. I don't think I'm getting anything more than pessary pains at the moment, just taken a couple of paracetamols to ward them off.

Having the pessary put on wasn't particularly nice. Cervix was still posterior and not very squishy, good news is that baby's head is nice and low :)

IndomitabIe · 24/03/2016 23:05

Oh Suz Thanks I can understand why you're feeling bad about it. She's still perfect, just in a different way. They discussed the cast treatment of talipes on radio 4 recently, it's incredibly successful.

Ooh good luck nixxxy!

I'm just back from an evening out too! I can't believe I've felt this good. So I either have to produce a baby tonight or hold off till Monday night. I could do with a rest now!

Trinpy · 24/03/2016 23:08

Congratulations French!

Hope all goes well with the induction nixxy.

Suz I understand why you're upset, but its good news that its been picked up on and that something can be done about it Flowers.

Yay for finally finishing work Indom! You've done amazingly well to last it out.

We had the day 3 weigh in today and William has only lost 2.5% of his birth weight. He has been feeding pretty much non-stop since he was born, so not a huge surprise, but I'm really proud of myself for keeping going through the after pains and engorgement and getting such a positive result Smile.

BumpPower · 25/03/2016 00:33

It was a baby in there after all!! Grin
Baby Genevieve was born at 2101 tonight, 8lb 12 (she did 2 big poos before.she was weighed else I reckon she could have been a 9lber) waters broke whilst having a bath with DS1! Around 1850 Not a huge messy gush just a popping sound and wierd have I just peed? feeling! Rang hospital who, as I wasn't contracting, suggested I came in after shift change at 2030. Put down the phone and immediately started Contraction s so went in anyway. Arrived at 2000 had Genevieve in the pool in my arms by 2100! Midwife was v impressed.
My children share a birthday!!
Ginny is asleep having had a feed. Poor DP looks a little worse for wear!
indom here is hoping you will have at least a little mat leave pampering before Octobaby appears!

March 2016 babies! The (hopefully) graduation thread!
1frenchfoodie · 25/03/2016 01:09

Congratulations bump, sounds impressively straightforward. Love the name, only met one Genevieve before and she (a colleague) was a real sweetie.

marmiteandcheeseplease · 25/03/2016 01:35

Congrats bump love the name! Grin

Good luck nixxy hope everything goes well.

Congrats on good weight loss trinpy, it does make endless boobing things feel worth it.

Currently feeding E and feel like I'm making progress with latch thankfully. But only on one side! Seem to have gone a bit backwards with left boob and last feed I was taking her on and off again repeatedly with no joy. Pain is manageable though and I do feel like we are making progress slowly.

MrsElls · 25/03/2016 02:35

Ooh bump i love the name and how sweet that your kids share a birthday.

suz its completely understandable that you are upset, as others have said though at least it has been picked up early.

nixxy good luck!

Evening to anyone up feeding. We are visiting my parents about 200 miles away from home so Cassidy can meet all my friends. She is sleeping in the travel cot for the first time and I am very relieved that she seems to be ok in it Smile

MyNameIsSuz · 25/03/2016 04:30

Congratulations bump! Great name, and it sounds like a really good birth.

Good news on the feeding marmite, I think we're getting there too, it will be worth it!
