Yay I found you girls! I've been so busy lately that I completely forgot to come on here. Can't believe my baby girl 3 weeks and 2 days old, it's going so quick :( she's put on 1lb1oz since she was born that was last week i'm quiet intrigued to find out how much she weighs now. Also I'm doing combined feeding as she's a greedy bugger and seems to be always hungry but I did notice that she strains a lot and worried that she's got colic. I want to give her gripe water but on the bottle it says 1 month onwards so I still gotta wait another week but a few people told me they didn't and gave it to their babies from 2 weeks? anyone used it before? what shall I do?

Also I get so emotional watching one born every minute it kind of makes me want to do it all over again haha

QforCucumber · 29/03/2016 15:00

rosie Rory seems to strain a lot and be uncomfortable too but he is ebf. He is sick after almost every feed but only seems to be a little of what he has drank.

health visitor has been today and weighed Rory - at 10 days old he is now 10lbs 1oz. At birth he was 8lb 12 oz. Looks like all this feeding is doing him well!

Rosieblossom123 · 29/03/2016 15:16

Q Mia is the same she'll be a tiny bit sick after some feeds but the health visitor is happy because she's putting on weight quickly so they're not worried and we have lots of wet and dirty nappies. Just want to take the pain away Sad

magpiedreams · 29/03/2016 15:35

rosie are you doing tummy massage / leg cycling etc? That helped loads with my DS. We did use infacol from about 3w but I'm not sure it made much difference - time was the only cure really.

I was sadly only 1cm and cervix v posterior so have had a propess in since 10am. Contracting every 3-5mins but not that painful yet. I think I'm in for a long old process. And I'd forgotten how sore the prostin makes me down below Angry. Did anyone else have this? indom this race is still yours for the taking!

IndomitabIe · 29/03/2016 15:46

Hi magpie, I've just had a sweep. Cervix 1cm and soft, not posterior, but no contractions! You're definitely winning! I'm not particularly hopeful.

On the plus side, the sweep wasn't bad at all. I'd been led to believe they were awful. Not sore at all, luckily.

1frenchfoodie · 29/03/2016 17:17

indom I was 1cm and soft at sweep no 2, took further sweep 2 days later to get contractions going but it did eventually do the trick (was 40+13 by then). Fingers crossed this sweep does result in contractions but at least it was not painful. Hope contractions are progressing magpie.

IndomitabIe · 29/03/2016 17:29

I'm to go back on Friday for another one. Hopefully I'll avoid induction.

Looks like DH isn't going to make the wedding on Monday either way!

MrsBenWyatt · 29/03/2016 17:53

Waah - first day with all three and no DH (DD had been at school up to now). Trying to entertain a 6 yo, 2 yo and care for a newborn is not the easiest thing I've ever done!!!

MrsBenWyatt · 29/03/2016 17:54

Good luck Magpie. I was induced with DC1 and the propess made me feel like I had ice in my pants!! It was really uncomfortable.

BeautifulLiar · 29/03/2016 19:26

How did it go MrsBen?

DH went away to London today. And he accidentally took my bank card!!! I was ready to kill him, had to take all the kids into town to beg the bank to give me some money. Then we went to Pizza Hut where Nancy was duly admired. I've got them all washed and in bed so now just me and Nancy to go... day 1 almost done!

Good luck magpie!!

MrsBenWyatt · 29/03/2016 19:50

Not too bad, Beautiful. We had last-minute notice for a viewing on our house, so I had to run round like a mad thing tidying away toys, but apart from that it was ok!

I have just ordered a Close Caboo sling, though, as I didn't join in with the big two as much as I'd have liked, so I'm hoping having both hands free will help.

MrsBenWyatt · 29/03/2016 19:57

Beaut - Well done on getting to Pizza Hut with all the kids, by the way! Super impressed!!

Woodenmouse · 29/03/2016 20:29

Mrsben and beaut you must both be super woman!! I have 2 ds and its a nightmaret trying to get them both sorted and out the house or just keep them entertained!!

marmiteandcheeseplease · 29/03/2016 20:36

indom I was 1cm with soft and posterior cervix at my sweep, and lost my plug two days later, following day went into labour, so fx you'll avoid induction. I think if the sweep doesn't hurt that's a good sign (mine didn't hurt at all).

Had El's discharge appt today at 12 days old, midwife was very impressed with her weight gain - she was 7 lb 5 at birth and now at 12 days old is 7 lb 14. So feeling pretty happy about that. Also had another appointment at bf clinic. The woman who saw me said my latch is still a bit shallow but its almost right and showed me what I was doing wrong. She checked for tongue tie and said no obvious tongue tie . instead she said likely problems with latching are oversupply - which I had suspected - as my boobs are massive and engorged so making it hard for E to latch. Also she said E is pulling back off the breast to avoid fast let down. In fact a couple of times recently poor E has has milk streaming out of her mouth where its coming out so fast she can't swallow it quickly enough Blush the bf advisor also said it sounded like pain I'm getting in between feeds is Raynaud's syndrome, which is a rare condition where your nipples spasm, basically. i suspected I had it with DD1 but the GP (surprise surprise) dismissed me when I suggested it, even though I had told her I get Raynaulds in my fingers in the winter. So her advice was to keep working on the latch and wait it out - basically oversupply will sort itself out and so will the Raynaud's (it did with DD1) but if not I need to get to a GP for medication. I feel positive about things getting better but its annoying as I'm basically having the exact problems I had with DD1 and I had pain for 4-5 weeks before it disappeared with her, was hoping it would be easier this time.

mrsben and beaut no idea how you manage it! I struggle with a 2 yo and a newborn when I have DP there!

dobbythedoggy · 29/03/2016 20:47

Well Eddy has definantly got dd's cold, poor little guy. Up all night with him last night, calling out of hours and all sorts. So glad for dh's hours, he had dd and Eddy once he got home and I just slept between feeds.

sherazade · 29/03/2016 21:11

marmite I was so desperate for the nipple spasms to end I tried a hair drier on them the other day. For oversupply I tried block feeding from one boob . Always manually expressed for three min before a feed which helped massively and the block feeding us claimed things down too.

marmiteandcheeseplease · 29/03/2016 21:36

Oh no dobby, hope Eddy feels better soon! My dad is visiting tomorrow and has a cold, he did warn me beforehand in case we wanted to postpone but I didn't see the point given DD1 has colds all the time...maybe I'll end up regretting being so blasé!

sher with DD1 at some point I ended up block feeding to reduce supply, but the bf counsellor said it was a little early to do that now and to wait until bf established - if I'm still struggling with oversupply in a few weeks then to try taking steps to combat it. Hopefully my body will regulate itself! Also hoping the spasms go away sooner rather than later - with DD1 it was very gradual but did improve by itself. At the moment just using warm compresses and trying not to get cold! Doesn't work that well in my house which doesn't have double glazing!

IndomitabIe · 29/03/2016 21:49

marmite - Raynauds in your nipples?! I'd never heard of that! I get it in my hands & feet (year round unless pg!), I'll have a read and see if anything resonates.

Sorry to hear about Eddy's cold, dobby. I've already got the saline nasal spray in for that eventuality. It was like magic when we discovered it.

Well, post sweep I had some contractions that were definitely different to BHs, but they've gone entirely now. Think I'll have to get walking tomorrow. My friend with the IVF twins is having her c-sec tomorrow! So exciting!

magpiedreams · 29/03/2016 23:46

Apologies I've not read everyone else's news since this afternoon but wanted to let you all know that baby boy arrived at 8pm weighing 8lb8oz. I was getting increasingly painful contractions every 3mins for a few hours on the ward and kept being reassured I was in 'early labour' whilst thinking 'wtf this is horrific!'. At 7.30 they agreed to put me on the monitor to 'check' how frequent they were Hmm and thankfully I was seen by a new-shift MW who swiftly examined me and found me to be fully dilated - cue mad bed race to delivery suite where he appeared 10mins later after a lot of noise for a few mins from a slightly scared/pissed off me! All's well that ends well as they say! He's gorgeous, I didn't need stitches and we are going home soon.

Will read the other posts during my upcoming inevitable night feeds...

IndomitabIe · 30/03/2016 00:15

Congratulations magpie! Good weight too (same as DS). Glad you've got away without stitches too.

So... just me left then... (I knew it would happen!)

TriJo · 30/03/2016 00:19

Holy shit Magpie that sounds VERY similar to what happened to me....

MrsElls · 30/03/2016 03:34

Congratulations magpie. Fx indom joins us all in the night feed club tomorrow.

Cassidy is having her first feed of the night, I feel great for having 5 hours sleep! Dh is back at work tomorrow (today) so got to get ds to mil's first thing,as least it doesn't really matter what time I get there.

Cassie appears to only want one boob, hmm left boob is probably going to be protesting come morning..

BeautifulLiar · 30/03/2016 03:50

Congratulations magpie! That's exactly what happened when I had my first baby and was induced. You did amazingly well!!

My baby is asleep but I'm not... sigh. I'm in loads of pain from piles Blush God I'm sexy!

Crispylicious · 30/03/2016 04:24

Congrats magpie! Can't believe they didn't realise you were dilated. Good weight!

indom if you're already 1cm, I don't think you'll be far away. Will that be our last Fred baby? We may all make it in March.

Night feeding here. My milk appears to be coming in already on day 2, which is great, particularly as last time it took until day 5. R's latch has also improved now there's some milk in. Have had v little sleep, although did manage a 2.5 hour stretch. Am hoping DH will have him most of the day time, so I can catch up on some zzs.

I have an awful feverish cold/cough, which DD has given to me. Am keeping everything crossed R doesn't catch it. It would be just awful if he did. dobbie hope Eddie is ok.

Crispylicious · 30/03/2016 04:26

Waves to beaut. My bum is so bruised and swollen, can't tell if there are any piles! Every time I cough at the mo, a little wee comes out. Tres glam eh?
