Congratulations marmite!

BumpPower · 18/03/2016 06:48

Congratulations marmite beautiful name!
Nothing happening here am alternating between walking and doing nothing/resting (and feeling like I should be doing the other thing I'd you see what I mean...) sigh....

MyNameIsSuz · 18/03/2016 06:52

Yay, congratulations marmite, I'm so pleased you got the birth you wanted!!!

MyNameIsSuz · 18/03/2016 07:01

Ooh, pretty sure I've just found bits of my mucus plug in my pants! No blood but definitely blobbier than discharge. But still no labour!!! Even after all that pain last night. Boo.

CharleytheFrenchPoodle · 18/03/2016 07:11

Not sure if things are happening here...been waking intermittently during the night with bad pains. Finally got to the stage I couldn't sleep through them so started timing them from about half 4 and were every 10-12 minutes. Now they seem to be varying between 6-8 minutes and are very intense. Also had more blood on pad- redder this time.
Going to keep an eye on things and half expect them to taper out but am also fully aware DD only took 8 hours from start to finish so don't want to leave it too long before I can get checked if they continue Shock

IndomitabIe · 18/03/2016 07:24

Sounds promising, Charley!

Flat nothing here. Hoping for an easy day at work though.

Crispylicious · 18/03/2016 07:26

Congrats ff! Your little girl is just gorgeous and I love her name. I'd love a Welsh boy's name for our baby, but DH has vetoed it as neither of us are Welsh (well my dad is!)

marmite congrats to you too! Sounds like the perfect home birth. Must be lovely to wake up with your squish with you in your own home.

q hope they got the induction started. I was induced last time as my waters went and there was no labour. It was looong but fine.

charley sounds like you'll have a baby before long!

indom hope you decided to skip school today and are having a BIG rest.

Still not quite at due date here (next tues). Had a growth scan yesterday for static growth and the baby is in the right position, yay, all ready to go as the sonographer said, and roughly about 8lbs. Just a waiting game now. Bet I'm the last on the Fred!

MrsBenWyatt · 18/03/2016 07:38

More babies! Congratulations, Marmite.

Good luck Charley - sounds like this is it!!

Indom I really don't want to go back, but DH is keen to move to a larger house, which would rely on my management salary, so stuck between a rock and a hard place! I love teaching, but I can't face going back to 12 hour days with three small children!

My school is great. I recently moved (for promotion) from an outstanding school in a good catchment to an RI (but we recently got good) school in a very deprived catchment. The children work so hard, but lots have come to year 6 with a reading age of 5 and not knowing bonds to ten and we still need them to be 'expected' for May Sad

marmiteandcheeseplease · 18/03/2016 08:22

Thanks guys. Home birth was really lovely and luckily mw on call was the one from my surgery which was nice. They were very hands off and everything was so much more efficient. Really felt the difference baby not being back to back! DD on her way over here with grandma now, hoping the introduction goes well. I'm still on a post birth high and dreading the comedown! Eleanor is feeding well but I couldn't get latch right in dark in the night so they are mega sore this morning! Remember the same with DD - latch fine during the day but not at night, so will have to stick it out. E wouldn't settle in her bednest last night so thought screw it and just co slept. There will be plenty of time to get her used to the bednest and she felt so far away in it so I snuggled up next to her instead Smile

Charley sounds very promising and suz sounds like things are moving for you too!

Hope Q got on ok last night!

hayleycookie · 18/03/2016 08:34

Congratulations Marmite! Your birth sounds lovely! Hope the introductions go well for you.

Q how are you doing today?

Suz Ah hope it starts soon for you!!

8 days over myself now and not a sausage! Except all the extra pant goop which is just gross. DS has a stinking cold and we're in the process of mortgage application so there's a lot to distract me until Tuesday when I'll be induced. We've got guests coming up this weekend as they thought baby would be here by then. Bit awkward! Thinking that a trip down to see everyone at once next weekend would work better for us than having guests up all over easter. At least we can leave when we have had enough then rather than wait for them to go.

Good luck Charley! Hope this is it!

Was just catching up on you guys reading your plug news mynameissuz and my plug depending gracefully down my thighs! Like a cube of gross jelly - no blood though. Sorry I know that is way tmi but who else can I tell?? Grin of course all it means is I will have a baby in the next week or so but still signs add up hopefully!

vroc81 · 18/03/2016 08:56

Congratulations marmite glad the birth went well at home as well.

Sorry for all those overdue, hoping you all kick off shortly! I'm off shortly to start my induction.. Didn't sleep very well last night though which isn't a good start! Having not had as much as a Braxton hick or any uncomfortableness bar a tiny bit of cramp a few days ago this pregnancy bit alarmed that I've had no warm up for the pain!

1frenchfoodie · 18/03/2016 09:26

Congratulations marmite, glad you got the homebirth you wanted.

Hope induction goes smoothly vroc, they want to induce me today (40+12) but going in for monitoring and discussion with hope that I can hold out for a day or two as think I am in early labour after sweep yesterday and loss of plug on wed.

Ohwoolballs · 18/03/2016 09:39

Congratulations marmite fantastic news on home birth and snuggles :)

39 weeks tomorrow and not a splooge of plug or back cramp to be found.....

vroc81 · 18/03/2016 09:45

Hope appointment goes ok french and things get going.. I've unfortunately run out of time as am now 40 + 11 and they were keen to have her out on 40 for my blood pressure...

TriJo · 18/03/2016 10:05

39+5 and exactly the same Wool!

Walked miles yesterday and not even as much as a Braxton-Hicks for my troubles...

Timetogrowup2016 · 18/03/2016 10:43

Congrats marmite your birth sounds lovely and a lovely name to.

Bit worried this morning Calais took 3oz at 4am 1oz at 7am and 1oz just now.
My oh gets her to have 2-3 oz each time and I just fail and she won't take it.
I've changed her and winded her and she's still refusing more.
She only does this for me and when his not here. So scared surely she needs more than 2oz in six hours?
I can tell she's getting bigger but I'm so scared about her intake :(

QforCucumber · 18/03/2016 11:31

Quick update - waters broke themselves an hour ago, 4cm and 4 mins apart. Meconium in waters so on constant monitoring Eeeeek Grin

Timetogrowup2016 · 18/03/2016 11:35

Yes q!
Good luck!
Sorry about the constant monitoring. I had that to but could still move around. What about you? Are you able to/want to be mobile?
Keep us updated when ever you can. Baby be in your arms soon

TheMshipIsBack · 18/03/2016 13:34

Excellent news q!!

time are there feeds you always do and ones your dp does? I'm wondering if it's just time of day and maybe Calais just isn't as hungry at the feed times that are usually yours? As long as she's taking something and is having wet and dirty nappies she's probably fine - take her to be weighed next week to reassure yourself. I think most health visitor teams run an open baby weigh and advice clinic weekly, or just make a hv appointment. They don't mind.

Woodenmouse · 18/03/2016 13:44

Yeay good news Q good luck Flowers

time as long as she's getting something she should be fine, if you're worried though make a hv appointment!,

marmiteandcheeseplease · 18/03/2016 14:06

Good luck Q!

time as others have said I wouldn't stress about how much Calais is taking or read too much into how much she takes from you vs your DH. But if you want your mind put at rest, go to a localdrop in weigh in clinic. Details of local ones are usually in the red book I think?

All fine here today except boobs so sore! They're huge and although Eleanor looks to have a good latch (ticks all the visual boxes) there's just a mismatch between my boob size and her small mouth. I found the same with DD so expecting pain for a few weeks but was hoping I'd avoid it this time!

Afterpains are also terrible, just taken some iboprufene but they haven't kicked in yet Confused

BeautifulLiar · 18/03/2016 14:45

Yesss good luck Q!

Congratulations marmite! My boobs are so much bigger than Nancy's head Confused

marmiteandcheeseplease · 18/03/2016 15:26

Baby Eleanor in her Tigger outfit 😍😍😍.

Hope q and vroc are getting on ok.

French I meant to say earlier but hope your appointment to discuss monitoring was ok. They can't force you to be induced if there's no medical reason (ie not just because of some arbitrary date) so hope they agreed to allow you monitoring and for things to progress naturally!

March 2016 babies! The (hopefully) graduation thread!
BeautifulLiar · 18/03/2016 15:30

Aww marm she's so cute! Really alert too! Congratulations again xxx
