Thanks sarah for responding to me ranting away& hugs too , normally yellow and booby get an earfull of it every day !!!. Im sure its just getting into a habit and a routine with going out with both, its just dd1 wont stay with me if feeding dd2 out , she wanders off , then asks for the loo and what do you do then with shopping , coats , bags and buggy ????? Its all to overwhelming alone, so I havent yet done it. I have a homestart women meant to be coming to help me in giving me a bit of coaching and moral, but havent heard form them yet about intro meeting.

I think on tues after nursury drop there is lunch at one of the girls houses.

I did have a thread re my back , thats been a whole other nightmare & saga. Ive got undiagnosed SPD too. well lets say a private osteo diagnosed it , (she wont treat me now as she doesnt think I shud have any body work right now). I thought I had been reffered to physio on nhs , but have found out its only for a back care class and not 1-1 treatment, sooo another argy is needed with gp's for a change. On top of that I also have gynae issues & have another appt fot that too. Lets say this isnt helping in the dh section !! Although hes not even bothered about that, which doesnt help at all.

anywhooooo someone make me STOP going on and on. I must be on broken record as one of the girls said in rl , mels always has an episode. Im sure she was joking but it made my stomach flip right now.

hows your course sarah , anymore healiong releases ? Ive yet to experience reflexology , despite my obesession with complimnetary therapies.

olivo · 06/01/2007 21:29

aw, mels, hope things get better for you soon.

nappyaddict · 07/01/2007 01:05

dressedupnowheretogo · 07/01/2007 10:06

oh my we are teething my cute happy baby has turned into an uhappy monseter with drool and red hot cheeks its awful knowing there is nothing i can do

its her top two front ones as well proper poking out hwer gums at the top i can feel them as im feeding shes hardly feeding either but she will eat youghurt sraitght from fridge so i think that helps cool them but must say bongela on gums and dummy and ashton powders and calpol took an hour to stop her screaming and she is normally incredibly passive

hope everyone is well

BigHotMama · 07/01/2007 14:18

Ahh poor CJ, you just feel so helpless dont ya? Hope she gets better x

Nappyaddict, I'm still here hun and Jackson is doing great thanks. Hows you and Toby? We should arrange meet up, have you heard from Diddle recently? (Email me at [email protected])

Melsy I really feel for hun and dont worry about ranting on here, I'm just amazed how you are coping with everything thats going on with you at the moment and your bloody DH should be more understanding. Hope you get your back sorted and everything else really soon.

Jackson wasnt too impressed with the party last night, party poppers going off and loud music and kids screaming, everybody was trying to get him to smile but he was having none of it lol. As soon as we got home he was giggling and shouting as per usual, obviously didnt know where he was bless!

nappyaddict · 07/01/2007 18:09

no i haven't i don't think she's been around much. will see if i can try and get hold of her.

melsy · 07/01/2007 18:33

awwwwww booby hows cj doing today , I hope things have been better for you both, was it a bad night? I remember having this ring thing that u can put in the fridge for them to chew and suck.

Yellow hope the wedding was good , hope Ellis slept some for you. Poor chick hugs XXXX

Thanx BHM for your caring, I have good days and really really bad days. Some days you would see me and think ahh she looks sorted , other days I cower at home in my pjs not wanting to see anyone. Thats normal thought isnt it ? I keep telling dh it is and that Im not a freak.

Im off out tonight with my little sis and her friend, just got to get out as we couldnt get a babysitter. Hopefully will make me feel better, just hope my back doesnt play up to much. Off to get girls to bed now and put some slap on, makes me feel Im not just mum.

Speak again tomoz all xxxxxx

Snowboo · 07/01/2007 21:46

Hey Mels! Sorry you are having a rough ride also.
Hope you enjoy your night out, just don't do what i did last night and oerdo the wine....Not one single hangover over Christmas then wake up with stomach ache/nausea/wobbles just when i've a million things to do! (But it was worth it hehehe)

Can someone please help me? I really can't remember weaning ds1, seems so long ago now and i can't remember what i should/shouldn't feed Austin and how much milk he should be on. At the mo he has:

9am 9oz milk
10:30/11am 8oz milk
2pm 7oz milk
4:30pm dinner (mashed something with fruit for pud)
6:30pm 8oz milk
10:30pm 7oz milk.

Not sure where i cut milk out and replace food! Have tried to give him lunch and cut down the milk but he still cries for it after half banana etc....
Think i'm going slowly insane.

ANd has anyone else had this virus thats going round? Have had it for 3 weeks and still feel like i don't want to get out of bed. Not sure if its normal or if i am just very down. Any ideas on how to shake this feeling? Just want to cry all the time, am stressing about my smear test (which i have to have once a year oh joy!) worrying about my ds1 who won't eat, and a whole lot more to do with other thngs which i can't say incase anyone i know is lurking....

Snowboo · 07/01/2007 21:48

Hmmm reading that back i seem like such a lot of fun! And i wonder where my friends have gone???!

Promise to be in a better state soon.

And i hope you are all well and babies are giving a lot of fun and sunshine!

dressedupnowheretogo · 07/01/2007 23:05

oh y im druink againnn

gotttt ypo sortt this oyut

olivo · 08/01/2007 10:04

morning!

snow - dont worry about it - MN is the poerfect place for getting things out of your system! and it makes me feel normal...

booby - - i'll have some of what you've been having!!

melsy - hows things?

we're plodding along quite nicely though i'm really starting to struggle with the sleep thing. i used to be a half nine till half seven person but dd is still up twice in the night and it suddenly seems to have caught up with me. this morning i put her back in her cot at 7.15 and left her babbling - didnt wake up till 9.15 and she'd fallen asleep again!

so relieved i chose to take an extra term off instead of going back now - financially bit chaotic bit so nice to have some time to play still, especially as dd is so interesting and interested at the moment.

oops, end of essay!

Snowboo · 08/01/2007 14:12

Afternoon!

Well Austin has finally had his 2nd, yes, i said 2nd!!! set of injections. Has so far been ok but i have to watch out for any suspicious rashes so will be tense for the next few days . But hey, he might get his 3rd set before he turns 1yo! That would be fantastic. How do i find a decent dr where the nurses and staff don't talk to you like an idiot? I have now heard lots of people complaining about them and i want to move as soon as Austins injections have been finished.

Olivo, i can sympathise with the sleep, although Austin sleeps thru ds1 still doesn't at 4yo. So i am still up a million times a night to settle him back and i too was an early to bed kinda girl but now i'm lucky to be in bed before the witching hour....Apparently it will improve

How was your night out Mels? Hope you enjoyed it. Will be back on MSN soon, just been hovering lately as have no energy to make sense to anyone. Luckily dh has been helping out more, he seems genuinely worried about my mental state. At last. So i will catch up with you all soon.

Well, ds1 first day back at school so had better feed baby then leg it up there before the rain comes....

BigHotMama · 08/01/2007 15:32

Snow, just an idea, why dont you try giving him some solids at his 10.30 feed, maybe cut his milk down to 6oz and give half his milk feed before the solids then give him the rest of the milk to finish the feed, I tried doing that with Jackson this morning as he normally screams if I try to give him solids if he's hungry for his bottle? Jackson had his first half banana mashed today and he loved it. Hope Austin's ok after his jabs, cant belive they are only the 2nd lot!

We keep finding Jackson asleep on his front in his cot, should I be worrying about this? I normally try to turn him over but my Dh said as long as his head is turned towards the side and he's breathing we should leave him? Any advise be appreciated.

Jackson did his first roll the other night but think it may be a one off as he hasnt done it since lol Oh and he has found his willy, keeps grabbing it when he's having his nappy changed, have to be careful when I'm changing a pooey nappy as he tries to get his hand in it yuk!

LMAO Booby, hungover?

Pinchypants · 08/01/2007 17:34

Hello girlies! I haven't posted on this thread before, and five months in I thought it was about time I said hi and compared notes and experiences and highs and lows with other mummies who know exactly what it's like.

DD is my first and was born on 1 August, so she was five months on New Year's Day. She's beautiful and long (98th centile). I haven't had her weighed much as she has been fine and can't be bothered to trek to the health visitor clinic cos it's at an awkward time, but think she is around 15lbs now.

I'm still breastfeeding - had a bit of a nightmare start but it suddenly got easy a few weeks ago and we are a bit of an allergic household so planning to carry on with that as close to 1yr as I can, and will be weaning her after 6months (although she does have tastes of things on my finger and is really interested in food already).

I work from home so I really needed a good routine, and DD has slipped really well into the Baby Whisperer's approach. So at the moment she's eating every four hours during the day, and our days look something like this:
Up and feeding at 7am
Nap 9-10.30/11 (ish)
Feed 11am
Nap 1-2.30/3pm (ish)
Feed 3pm
Nap 5-6 (ish)
Bath and massage 6pm
Feed 6.30pm
Bed by 7pm after a cuddle and lullaby
Dream feed 10pm, then sleeps through.

It's a bit like groundhog day doing everything in exactly the same way every day (although we do get out, see other mums, go for walks, play and stuff in between feeds and naps!) but DD seems to be very content so far. I know we're in the golden bit before she gets really mobile and starts teething, and I am really enjoying it at the mo. She sleeps a lot, too, which makes life very easy - worked really hard to get her into a good napping routine and she only gets upset when she's overtired.

So that's us - hello! Is there a post anywhere where I can catch up on who you all are?

I have a couple of questions, too: how much are your babies sleeping during the day? And are any of you working part-time, from home or elsewhere, and how are you finding it?

Have a lovely evening and thanks for reading,
Pinchy xxx

olivo · 08/01/2007 18:06

hi pinchy and welcome to the august lot - we're lovely !!

you sound so organised (i keep saying this to people on this thread!) but i guess you have to be,working from home.

if you have a look on some of our old antenatal threads, or even the first graduates of august 06 thread, you'll find a list of us i think?

and i'm of the sleeping through!!
ah well, one day...........

BigHotMama · 08/01/2007 18:18

Hi and welcome Pinchy. You didnt tell us your dd's name? Have you got a piccy?

My ds (my first too) is called Jackson and he was born on 21st August and is 20 weeks today. There is a pic of him on member's profiles somewhere at around 13 weeks.

In answer to your q's, my ds usually sleeps an hour before his next feed, he fights it though and I often have to soothe him to sleep with dummy or stroke his head, or sometimes rock him. He sleeps anything from 20mins to 1 hour during the day and normally does that 3-4 times a day. He doesnt sleep through as such but only wakes for his dummy and is settled back quickly.
On the work front, I work weekend nights in a band usually fri and sat nights or sometimes only sat nights and find it hard sometimes, but when I'm there I enjoy being 'myself' again and I work in a social environment so its not really work work iykwim.

stumpydoglooksforwardtospring · 08/01/2007 18:40

hello pinchy, i'm new(ish) here too. i have a post a bit earlier on this thread with a pic and info about us. my ds does not sleep much in the day anymore, dozes off once or twice while feeding then wakes as soon as placed in cot and every other day will sleep for about 2 hours. but he does sleep well at night, usually from 9ish til about 6 in the morning. i run a small business from home, whhich means paperwork and phonecalls through the day (7 days a week) and the actual work is done by employees while the lo is small so that uses up almost all the profits
melsy - i try not to take my two los out at the same time unless i've got someone else with me, or if i have to i use reins. i had an uforgettable outing to the beach once, and my 3yr old dd decided to stand on the seawall edge almost being blown over while i tried to get ds out of his baby seat. a woman on a scooter even stopped to tell me i should watch my children more! some things are just too difficult.
bhm - sorry i don't know what to say about dangers of sleeping on front, but i imagine that if he's strong enough to move around on his own he'll be ok
now i'm off to see to sick dd and dh who have vomiting bug

dressedupnowheretogo · 08/01/2007 19:16

olivo · 08/01/2007 19:38

booby - are you pg???

dressedupnowheretogo · 08/01/2007 19:42

dont think so just wondering olivio id bve very surpried only done it 5 times i tink since i had cj

olivo · 08/01/2007 21:10

that's 5 times more than me booby

doesnt bmilk taste different if you are pg? i think some babies go off it (think i've read this somewhere but not trying to scare!!)

katylou25 · 08/01/2007 21:56

Yeah pg hormones can affect breast milk i'm sure!

Well Jacks now sleeping throuhg again have started him on solids - hes only 18 weeks but after a few nights of him drinking 2 8oz bottles at bedtime and then waking at 10 and 1 for another 8 oz each time when he was sleeping through decided he had to be ready. It also seems to have settled his reflux down a bit which is fab!

We have a sort of flexible routine bathand bedtime is the same as long as we're at home but the rest is in the same oreder throughout day but not set in stone if you see what I mean - 2nd babies just get on with it!

6/7am - wake up and 8 oz feed
9 - 8 oz feed
nap
11/12 - 8 oz feed
1 - savoury solids
2 - 8 oz feed
nap
4 - 8 oz feed
nap
6 - sweet solids
6.45 - bath, play and stories with DS1, 8 oz feed and both tucked up in bed by 7.45 at the latest
8 mummy hits the wine!

Hes got a door bouncer and loves it - but ds1 is a bit of a danger with it - likes to swing him from side to side like tarzan shouting "jack swing wheeeee"

He also will NOT stay on his back now has to be rolling onto his front ALL the time - which makes nappy changing and dressing lots of fun between him and DS1's defiant running away and then peeking from behind the door saying hello mummy phase! Can you tell hes going to be 2 next week little monster!

dressedupnowheretogo · 08/01/2007 22:04

ahhhhh katylou they sound so sweet

btw just been informed hormones travel thru blood stream not breast milk

burstingbug · 08/01/2007 22:05

Joe sleeps on his tummy, I used to put him down on his side but he started to hate that. Much much better at sleeping on tummy.
He's gone off feeding, not fed properly since Saturday. His reflux was quite bad last week so that might have put him off.
Well done to all those who are into a routine! Our day is pretty random, must get into some kind of routine as I start work in 3 weeks - eeeek. Still don't know what I'm going to do re feeding, I'll be working 9.30 - 16.30 weds - fri. I don't really want him to have formula - I've done well so far!
Really must try and get a store of ebm! Would I need 2 x 8oz's then for when I'm at work?
