Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
PinkTulips · 31/01/2007 22:47

they said she was quiet which for sarah means she was really nervous and upset

she looked so petrified when i went to get her, i'm so mad they didn't ring me to get her... there was no need for her to do the full day if she wasn't happy and they didn't give her her bear... I've got a 'what would you do' thread in parenting if you want to see the full rant. am bringing her tomorrow but if she's as upset i'll call it a day til she's older... there's no real need for her to go except for her to have fun and me to have some time with caleb and if she's miserable i won't be happy at home.

luna... not sure which of those pics is supposed to be the before or after, lol. cept for the dye job the left one is a bit like mine goes before i hack at it woth the sewing scissors each time (i can just see booby wincing as she reads that!)

i like your ds's name luna.... it's unusual, in a good way

would love to meet all of you too..... wish i had the money to make a trip over to the meet up whanever you organise it for. at least i'll meet booby soon

am off to check my lotto ticket and curl up in bed... not used to these early mornings, lol

stumpydoglooksforwardtospring · 01/02/2007 12:12

hello all . pink - perhaps your dd will get to like the playgroup. mine, who's just 3 has been going to nursery for two mornings per week for about the last 6 months. she did cry at first and refused to speak to anyone for a long time. we were going to stop sending her there after another child bit her on the face but she begged us not to ! she actually likes it a lot but is still upset, at first, because i'm not there.

btw i won't be around much for a while as my open university course materials have arrived - last year for me

i'd love to meet everyone, if any of you ever come over to jersey.

olivo - would you like to meet for a coffee in ransoms one morning?

lunavix · 01/02/2007 20:12

PT - it's ayden, but we call him ayd for short. I thought the names ayden and kiera really suited each other - then when he started pre-school, there's a boy there called aiden.. who has a baby sister called keira

Not so unusual then!

Okay whys booby getting to meet everyone [sulking emoticon]

I hate living down south.

PinkTulips · 01/02/2007 21:07

i think coz booby makes more effort than the rest of us, lol!

my best friend for years was an aidan so definitely like the name... do you have irish roots or just like irish names?

lunavix · 01/02/2007 21:39

nope love love love irish names

i wanted conner if kiera was a boy but it doesn't go particularly well with our surname

apparently kiera should be spelt ciara but I like it better with a k

maybe my irish love is something to do with the accent? Boondock Saints and all that... should take hubby to ireland see if there isn't some way of teaching it!

NbgsYellowFeathers · 02/02/2007 10:31

Mawning all!

Well dd has got Chicken Pox
I'm just waiting for Ellis to come out in spots too. I sooo hope he doesnt get it.

lunavix · 02/02/2007 11:46

nbg come visit me! pllllleeeeaaasseee

I really want ds to get it young

BigHotMama · 02/02/2007 12:13

Ooh chicken pox! Am itching alreday thinking about it although never had it myself, have you NBG?

How quiet is it on here lately?

Thank god this week is almost over, 3 weeks left at work and counting. Jackson has been a little darling all week for both his nans, hasnt really affected him as I thought it would? Missed munching him and have really enjoyed getting back to see him. Babysitter has got him at our place today and she scared me last night by saying she was planning to do some colouring in with him?? WTF? He's 5 months old and she going to give him a crayon? I thought she was joking and told her he's far too young for a crayon...am I right?
He's not even sitting on his own yet.
But apart from this commment I have every confidence she will be fine with him.

PinkTulips · 02/02/2007 13:19

BHM... dd started scribbling with crayons at 9 months, they're never too young as long as they're supervised to avoid chewing on them.

dd has settled well at playschool now so panic over she's still quiet but she'll come out of her shell when she's used to it.

luna... i've been here 13 years and i appparently have an american accent.... been told so by both irish people and americans think it depends where in ireland you are, the west of ireland accent is easily picked up but i was in cork for 10 years and still can't understand a word they say!

PinkTulips · 02/02/2007 13:21

oops nbg, sorry for ignoring you, poor dd. make sure to slather her in calomine lotion or she'll scratch and get scars (like me!) WISH DD WOULD GET IT YOUNG THOUGH, BETTER THEY DON'T REMEMBER IT, IT'S SAFER THE YOUNGER THEY ARE TOO. oops, sorry for shouting

NbgsYellowFeathers · 02/02/2007 14:23

I suppose shes getting it out the way having it at this age but its just another thing to contend with.
I've had it but doesnt mean I cant get it again. Dh's sister has had it 3 times and a friend of mine has had it twice too.
The spots are spreading really quickly too. Her head is covered with great big spots which she says really hurt and I've no bloody calamine lotion!
Arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

PinkTulips · 02/02/2007 15:18

awwww, poor M

can dh get some for you? or mil?

NbgsYellowFeathers · 02/02/2007 15:39

Dh is at work till 10pm and he's looking after the kids so I dont think he'll get chance to get out.

MIL is 70 miles away so I dont think she'd fancy getting me any
I'd go to the chemist myself but shes fallen asleep on the sofa and seems really tired.

PinkTulips · 02/02/2007 15:42

lol, sorry, thought mil was closer as you went to her's when you were bad that time.

poor mite, hopefully she'll sleep for hours and not think about the itching.

NbgsYellowFeathers · 02/02/2007 15:42

Actually thanks Pinky. Have just called him and as it turns out, he's taking the kids bowling so he's going to get some on the way in.

I wouldnt have thought otherwise so thanks

Home remedies for Chicken Pox Scars , treating chicken pox marks.

Apply Sandalwood oil ( not the paste ) from the first day of appearance of rash till the fall of scabs. helps

Apply Vitamin E oil over the skin. Will help the healing process..

A bath of oatmeal is a natural remedy to relieve the itch due to chicken pox

Honey smeared over the skin will also help in healing the disease

Lukewarm water baths with neem leaves will help relieve the itching.

Baking soda bath

PinkTulips · 02/02/2007 15:45

lol, thats good news anyway

NbgsYellowFeathers · 02/02/2007 15:47

Well I've only got honey and baking soda from that list and I really really dont fancy smoothering her in honey
I've just mopped the floor!

PinkTulips · 02/02/2007 15:49

how bout just dabbing it on the bad spots? it does work, honey is miraculous at clearing any skin probs

NbgsYellowFeathers · 02/02/2007 15:50

Really! I'll use it myself then cos I've come out in a really bad outbrake atm.
I'll put some on her after her bath then and it might stop her scracthing tonight.

PinkTulips · 02/02/2007 15:53

put gloves on her for bed too, lots of scratching gets done at night when they áren't awake enugh to stop themselves digging at it

lunavix · 03/02/2007 17:21

Where's everyone today??

Hope Ms feeling better today YF

I've had my hair chopped... quite liking it although my new fringe is making me feel a bit mumsy! Persuading dh to get me some guinea pigs tomorrow yippee And we've just registered online for our glastonbury tickets!!!!!!!! I SO hope we get some.

BigHotMama · 04/02/2007 11:22

Ok have finally got MSN but only found adds for Purple and Luna..? Can you let me have your adds again everyone sorry to be a pain!

Luna, very [envious] of your tickets. Who's on at Glastonbury? Everybody getting their hair chopped where are the pics? I wanna see!

WE had some spooky going ons here friday night, the baby walker went off (tunes and flashy lights) on its own during the night while we were all asleep and DH thinks his grandad might have paid us a visit .

Jackson has been really unsettled during the night too waking up at 3am crying his eyes up and then wont go back to sleep, we had him in our bed? Not sure if he had nightmare or maybe need to up his foods? Clueless?? Any suggestions? Dont think he's teething as no visible signs?
