Hi ladies, thanks Indom for the suggestion of me starting a new thread. Seeing as Zach and myself have been knocking about on antenatal since November it will be lovely to have you all joining us shortly in the baby, rather than pregnancy conversations! Bring on the March babies!!!!

I've had a lovely afternoon at an afternoon tea baby shower my wonderful friends threw me. Got lots of lovely things for the baby Smile
My body seems to be punishing me for being busy all afternoon and early evening now though as I have a headache and a really uncomfortable bump meaning I cannot get comfortable in any position in bed. I suspect I'll be a member of the csc tonight... Sad

Pannacott · 21/02/2016 23:08

As a recent delurker, what does csc mean? Charley, I did some perineal massage last time, I think it was helpful in getting the skin to stretch a bit (although I ended up with a c section), and I think there is some evidence for it. I got my DP to do it, no way I could have contorted myself to be able to do it comfortably on my own. Would that work for you?

RhubarbAndMustard · 21/02/2016 23:24

Panna it stands for Crap Sleep Club Grin

Charley your baby shower sounds lovely. I had a shower/ afternoon tea with the ladies today too and had a great time and spoilt with lots of amazing pressies. Check out this nappy baby that someone made me! Was so nice to have an adult girls afternoon with no kids!

How are you getting on Mship? Are contractions still mild? You must be exhausted (alongside Hayley with her 3 hour walk!!).

Oh and good luck for tomorrow Paper. Will be thinking of you!

Oh and good luck for tomorrow Paper. Will be thinking of you!

IndomitabIe · 21/02/2016 23:34

Oh, is it Paper's induction tomorrow?! So exciting! Good luck!

I conquered laundry mountain this evening, made it to base camp on the planning, but sadly only the foothills of marking mountain. bastard marking That's about standard for a half term!
DH intends to finish his and sacrifice sleep. I'm prioritising sleep over work.

Just had a look at my belly in the mirror, I think it has dropped. It looks like it's falling off! No wonder I can hardly wear anything! school clothes might be fun

Me624 · 22/02/2016 01:11

I'm in CSC Sad went to sleep about 11 and woke up at half 12 gagging on my own sick yuck! Sitting up now still trying to get rid of the taste before I attempt to go back to sleep.

My bump feels really tight too, rock solid! Which is uncomfortable. Thank goodness I'm now on leave and can sleep in tomorrow (once dh has gone off to work)

Lovely looking gifts Rhubarb! Good luck tomorrow Paper.

Missikat · 22/02/2016 02:22

Morning Me, hope you got back to sleep swiftly. Thankfully tonight Zach hasn't forced me into the CSC. Last night was truly hideous (many thanks for all your words of support!) but as DS1 is with his nan in London I basically stayed in bed until 11.30am sleeping along with Zach who of course decides daytime is a much better time for sleep than nighttime . Tonight I tried zipping up the side if the Snuzpod, who knows if that made a difference but after DH brought Hun up at 11.30 and I fed him he did go straight to sleep, as did I, so I don't object so much to being woken again now!

Good luck Paper for tomoz, how exciting gathers deck chair, Werthers and a magazine

Thinking of all you ladies in early labour. Hoping it doesn't go on too long for you all.

Rhubarb, you mentioned the Wonder Weeks. I do have the app (from DS1 although only got it when he was already nearly 2 so a bit of a waste!) but not sure what I do with Zach being a premie? I guess put in his due date as that's when his milestones will be based from? Not sure if he'll fit the dates even then as guess his development may be quite different from all your babies.

Hope not too many of you come to the CSC tonight, sleepy vibes to you all (Zach and Calais included). Scared, how are you getting on? Managing to get any sleep? Xx

dobbythedoggy · 22/02/2016 05:14

Ugh! Well dh and dd are being forced into csc too. Poor dd woke up hearing me being very sick, although didn't wake up gagging on it this time, sympathies me it's horrid to do that. But does involve actually doing more than dosing. She woke up dh and now we've all been awake for too long. Bless her, she's feeling very protective and I think keeps stopping herself falling back to sleep so she can hold my hand.

paper good luck for today

me really hope you've managed a good strech of sleep.

indom hope it's not too much of a shock to go back to school and all your pupils will be wonderful. Do you teach a subject where you could indulge in a bit of peer marking?

CharleytheFrenchPoodle · 22/02/2016 05:46

Ugh. As predicted, I've been a member of the csc tonight- bloody headache kept me up until nearly one (although I used it as a good chance to try out my natal hypnobirthing techniques and breathed through the pain!) and then kept waking every hour or so after. Just woken again and can hear DD stirring so I expect that's me for the day. Thank God I'm now on leave, although I have the consultants appointment this afternoon who will be deciding where I can give birth, fx that goes well and they say birth centre!
Flowers to everyone else in csc.
Missi am glad to hear little Zach has given you a better night!
Dobby poor you, that sounds awful- I hope you've all managed to get some sleep again.
Thanks for the tip Pannacott- I did mention it to DH and I've never seen a man looked so panicked! I can just about manage it on my own so will have another go at some point!

BeautifulLiar · 22/02/2016 06:43

Good luck today Paper! Check your hospital bag though, because in my dream last night you left one of your baby's socks in MY hospital bag Confused oh and Indom, I dreamt that you laboured so fast you had to rush to the hospital with your DS in tow. Honestly I know I'm nervous about the impending birth but do I really need to stalk you all?!

Sorry to fellow CSC members (Me poor you!). I was there too. It stands for Crap Sleep Club, Pannacott. I went for a wee at 3:40am and my DC were practically having a party in the living room! I may have shouted "Get back in your beds - NOW!' But they did, anyway.

Scared hope you and Calais are good?

MyNameIsSuz · 22/02/2016 07:04

Ooh good luck paper!

I miraculously had a pretty good sleep last night, I still struggled to get up though and feel pretty horrendous - how on earth am I going to manage the preschool run with a newborn???

docmcstuffins1 · 22/02/2016 07:22

Yesterday must have been afternoon tea day - I also had a lovely afternoon tea with "the girls", and they gave me a next voucher so I feel a shopping trip coming on!

Going to meet my sister and mum later today for lunch - I think I'm busier now I'm on mat leave than when I was at work!

Good luck for today Paper, so exciting!

marmiteandcheeseplease · 22/02/2016 07:22

Good luck today paper!

Sorry to all those in CSC. Another early morning for me, I was tossing and turning early this morning and gave up at about ten to six. DD woke up at ten past but I could hear her chatting in her room for ages, she didn't get bored till quarter to 7 which is a miracle for her. Wish I'd been able to take advantage of it!

Looking after DD today as DPs parents are away, the weather is crap though so have to find something indoorsy to do that isn't soft play! Had a busy weekend with friends visiting and really now feeling the physical strain of carrying round 2 stone extra weight. Really don't feel like this baby is going to make an appearance anytime soon, even my BH have slowed down/become less frequent Confused

MrsBenWyatt · 22/02/2016 07:27

Good luck today, Paper.

Any news, Mship?

DS (2) has just thrown up all over the floor, poor chap. Torn between wanting to look after him and not wanting to catch a bug!

Nine days til section!

magpiedreams · 22/02/2016 07:39

Good luck paper!
mrsb hope your DS is ok and this isn't the start of a nasty bug.
beaut loving your mn friend dreams, hilarious!
Today should be my last proper day of work but I'm still quarantined along with DD so another day at home. Haven't been anywhere (apart from my minibreak on the antenatal ward) for 9 days now. Think I'm going to need some sort of slow reintroduction to society!

MrsElls · 22/02/2016 08:18

Good luck paper!

First day of mat leave for me today, weather is rubbish, csc for me last night and ds at nursery so I will be staying at home with my feet up!

TheMshipIsBack · 22/02/2016 08:23

Morning all! Nothing doing here. Contractions are irregular and mild, so I'm taking the long view now. Funny since they started off so regular and frequent, but hey ho, labour is weird. I actually slept really well - only woke up for a couple of the more painful cramps or for rolling over, and dropped right back off again. It's a beautiful sunny day, so a loop or two of the park is in order.

Good luck, paper! Hope it all goes smoothly for you!

hayleycookie · 22/02/2016 09:31

Good luck today Paper! Hope it's smooth sailing for you all.

Don't know if it was the epic walk yesterday but was having constant tightening last night, to the point where I started timing them! There was no pattern and they didn't get any more painful so I've shrugged them off but they're still happening fairly regularly. At least every 15 minutes or so. Dh took the day off as he was sure I was going to go into labour last night. Hate this symptom spotting! Being so keen not to go overdue is making everything so much more noticeable. I have a midwife appointment soon but other than that I will be mostly pottering and staying upright/bouncing and squatting Grin

Sorry yours isn't going anywhere yet Mship. It must be so frustrating having actual contractions but not getting anywhere. Hope it develops soon for you!

Paperblank · 22/02/2016 10:24

Hi!! Waves from the hospital bed Grin

Can't believe I am here and WE'RE GOING TO HAVE A BABY!!

Just had a scan as the baby is being a little monster and has been wriggling so they wanted to know what position it's in before they started the induction - thankfully it is head down so we're all systems go.

Will keep you posted. Thinking of you all xxx

MyNameIsSuz · 22/02/2016 10:36

Ooh paper how exciting!!! Everything crossed for a quick, simple and not too painful time!

vroc81 · 22/02/2016 11:00

Good luck paper hope all goes well, and quickly!

sherazade · 22/02/2016 11:02

paper can't wait to hear of your news and good luck -so exciting!!!!!!!

BumpPower · 22/02/2016 11:03

Good luck paper very exciting!

Missdee2014 · 22/02/2016 11:49

Checking in as I haven't done so for w while. I really cannot keep up with this thread at all.

Congrats to Scared and glad Zach is doing better Missi.

I myself have been having weekly scans now for the last 3 weeks with another this Friday coming. Growth scans fortnightly and Doppler scans in between as they are concerned about baby being small. They mentioned static growth on Friday there which has worried me a bit but I'm sure if it was anything real to worry about they'd take me in and induce me now as I'm 37+2. Midwife again tomorrow - got a new midwife about a month ago (remember I go weekly to her as well for BP and urine checks as I'm high risk for pre eclampsia) and she's as much use to me as a chocolate fire guard. I've given up asking her any questions as she does not reassure me or relax me in any way.

Finally feeling organised for baby to arrive. Got the nursery all painted on Friday and furniture built and clothes etc all washed and in place over the weekend. Even managed to gut out the girls' bedroom and clear about 15 bags for the dump Shock Glad it's done though as I feel much more prepared and relaxed now.

Struggling to keep up on the phone app as its hard to go back and see who's posted what and when. Sorry to all those in the csc, thankfully I'm still sleeping quite well, up maybe once for a pee in the night. Although been awake before 6 the last few days n struggling to get back to sleep.
