Hi ladies, thanks Indom for the suggestion of me starting a new thread. Seeing as Zach and myself have been knocking about on antenatal since November it will be lovely to have you all joining us shortly in the baby, rather than pregnancy conversations! Bring on the March babies!!!!

MrsElls and Missi I'm also up. Baby me had a pretty good day of feeds yesterday although lots of very short feeds (5-8 minutes etc). He did have a stretch of sleep between 9pm and 11.30 or so but we've been up since then! He feeds for 5/10 mins or so, looks to be fast asleep by the end, but then if I try and put him down a few minutes later he starts squawking and sucking his fist wanting more. I'm tired Sad

Congrats MShip and Rosie who I missed out earlier! MShip well done on getting a hefty 9lber out in 4 hours with no pain relief!

Missdee2014 · 08/03/2016 04:52

Me when he does that - falls asleep after 5/10mins you should try and wake him. Even if it means you strip him down- make him uncomfortable so he doesn't fall asleep and he will feed again. Otherwise you'll make the mistake I made with dd2 and end up spending hours feeding at a time as he won't settle between. This time round with Callan I've learnt so much from last time feeding and he is going 4 hours roughly between feeds - I just make sure he's full before I put him down, by rousing him awake to make sure he's Definately finished.

Missdee2014 · 08/03/2016 04:58

Huge congrats to Paper and MsShip - beautiful babies!

Well I ended up back st hospital yesterday m, 6 days post natal! Mw sent me as my BP has gone even higher than it was during pregnancy. Have to say though, they were fantastic at the hospital as always and gave me a proper thorough check - checked my reflexes, eyes, everything. And of course the standard high BP bloods that I'm sick of SadNever mind, better safe than sorry. Sent home with strict instructions to rest and take it easy - easier said than done with 3dc and a constant stream of visitors Angry. Also they've upped my BP meds and I've also to see my own GP ASAP. Just waiting on GP calling with an appt now.

Woodenmouse · 08/03/2016 05:45

Sorry to hear that missdee do they have any idea what is wrong? Flowers

IndomitabIe · 08/03/2016 06:39

Yay, congratulations TheM!

Lots of sympathy for the non-sleeping babies. And thanks for the tips from the second/third+ timers!

Sorry you're still suffering, missdee.

Got my 38 week appt today at 37+6. Getting closer, I hope.

marmiteandcheeseplease · 08/03/2016 06:42

me if he's waking immediately for another feed then he probably is just falling asleep at the breast and not finishing - you could try gently blowing on his face or tickling him to keep him awake. But do remember babies tend to feed very frequently when newborns as they have tiny stomachs (nice short blog about this here: letmommysleep.com/blog/2014/11/06/how-big-newborns-stomach) and depending on size some won't go the magic 4 (or even 3!) Hours between feeds for a while but the frequent feeding does settle down. It's entirely normal for baby to feed frequently at the beginning whilst your supply is being established. My DD fed constantly for the first three weeks until after the first growth spurt was over and then calmed down. But it does get better. Hope you managed to get a bit more sleep.

missi sorry to hear about your BP issues - hope they find the cause of the issue soon.

Congrats mship!!!

Due date today for me, no signs of baby. I wouldn't say I'm desperate but I am bored of pregnancy now! Think I've got a way to go yet.

magpiedreams · 08/03/2016 06:45

Congrats to rosie paper and mahip!

Well done on all that night feeding action ladies, I know it's just what you have to do, and one does just get on with it, but it looks all the more admirable sitting here in the sidelines watching and cheering you on! Very hard to imagine I'm going to be motivated to be up all night feeding at some point soon.... not that soon though, nothing happening here!

RhubarbAndMustard · 08/03/2016 06:54

Congrats Mship, what a beautiful baby and well done to 4 hours and a 9lber!

Lovely photo Paper.

Hope your blood pressure comes down and try to take it easy Missdee.

Well done MrsE and others on the feeding. Feeds have definitely ramped up here but he is still quite sleepy during the day so napping then.

Happy due date MissiKat! Zach has done so amazingly well. You must be so proud of him.

Dobby enjoy those newborn snuggles! Hope your settling in well as a family and you are recovering well.

Wishing all the overdue club and nearly there club well. Maybe a new thread will encourage these babies to come.

We have day 5 midwife appt today which means heal prick test for Jacob and dressing off for me. Had lots of incision pain last night so fx for no infection.

maybebabybee · 08/03/2016 06:57

Congrats Mship!!

Due date for me today and I've woken up with a very dodgy tummy. Hoping that's a sign but not holding my breath!!

Crispylicious · 08/03/2016 07:00

Congrats mship, paper and rosie! Gorgeous babies! And ouch at the 3rd degree tear. Hope you're ok.

missi feeding every 1-2 hours through the night sounds really tough. Hope you're getting some rest in the day.

missd sorry bout the BP worries. Hopefully things will stabilise soon.

Bugger all sleep last night. V churny, sore stomach (not labour related) and I'm starting to get a sore patch of muscles at the top of the bump as I did last time. Bah. And no naps for me today as I have DD. am going to be shattered before the baby even arrives. Whinge, moan.

marmiteandcheeseplease · 08/03/2016 07:31

Ooh maybe fingers crossed its a sign! I had a dodgy tum and sicky feeling at dinner yesterday and was hoping it'd turn into anything but felt fine after dinner so think it was just hunger sickness! Sad times. I'm totally over analysing everything!

magpie I am also wondering how on earth I am going to cope with night wakings. I know I did it last time but DD has finally started sleeping well and I've gotten used to it, think it will be a massive shock!

vroc81 · 08/03/2016 07:32

Missi happy due date for yesterday too! I missed it as well but might be a bit closer Wink it's really amazing when you say Zachs a November baby, he's done so well.

Mship congratulations! Well done on popping her out so quickly on gas and air, she's beautiful!

Back to hospital for my daily BP check later and have had a chat with bump that after yesterday's induction reprieve getting a wiggle on herself would be great! Grin

MyNameIsSuz · 08/03/2016 07:36

Congratulations mship!

Happy due date to missi and vroc!

BeautifulLiar · 08/03/2016 08:27

Oh paper what a gorgeous photo! You sound so in love.

Missi I think you've done amazingly well given the circumstances. I look at how tiny my baby is and just can't imagine having a 25 weeker Flowers

MShip congratulations!! 9lb!! faints well done Mrs xx

Rhubarb we've got the heel prick test today too. Not looking forward to that but will be interesting to see what she weighs.

I've got leg pains/cramps and have done since the early hours. The midwives made a big thing about leg pain and DVT but I'm sure it'll just be nothing?? I have been doing lots recently...

marmite the night wakings were one of the things I was absolutely dreading. In fact sometimes I wondered why I'd got pregnant again Blush but (touch wood), they've been fine. Granted, she doesn't go in her crib at all really, but she sleeps next to me in bed all night and I barely realise when I'm feeding her, just do it half asleep. Plus I love waking up next to her, it's just gorgeous!

Happy due dates my due date buddies! Sorry I jumped the queue. Really really glad I don't have to go in to be induced today though!

BeautifulLiar · 08/03/2016 08:30

Also randomly managed to get an appointment for 2pm at the register office today to get Nancy registered :) just can't find any utility bills in DH's name as he only moved back in in January

RhubarbAndMustard · 08/03/2016 08:47

Beaut definitely mention your leg cramp to the midwife today to be on the safe side. I'm pretty sure there is some information in the midwife notes pack on dvt and iirc the pain is usually in one place and look out for a red mark- double check that though.

Thanks for the reminder about registering- I totally forgot about that! Also must sort child benefit and informing HR. So much admin!

BeautifulLiar · 08/03/2016 09:43

Thanks Rhu. I've just read the DVT leaflets. Its pretty painful, in one calf and I never get leg cramps, but there's no red mark...

I can't sort out child benefit as I just realised we never got a Bounty pack! Gods sake.. and the midwife just text to say she'll be around at 2pm - same time as the appointment!

Poppins27 · 08/03/2016 09:58

Hello all, really sorry to gate crash but I was on the original board (way back when!!) and have always browsed the posts but was never good at keeping up so observed from afar!!

Congratulations to all who have had their babies, they all look absolutely scrummy!! And I'm still so excited for all of those still waiting to meet their babies!! Good luck!!

I'm shamelessly here for some advice, as you guys have been a constant source if help without realising it so far.

I gave birth to my DS in Friday, super fast delivery (2 hours from first contraction waking me up to delivering in the back of an ambulance fast!!) which left me needing stitches (may it may not be important). Now TMI but I thought all was well, opened my bowels in Saturday, not remotely as traumatic as I expected so was very relieved. But since then despite really needing to go again...I can't, nada, will not come?! I don't know if it's psychological as I've now 'looked' down there or not?! Ramped up the intake of fruit/juice/veg...not helped. Has anyone got any tricks I could try?! Also not sure if I can have laxatives as breast feeding...would they even work if it's all in my head?!

Any advice massively appreciated?!

Poppins27 · 08/03/2016 09:59

Massive apologies for the typos...damn post baby chubby fingers!!! Blush

BeautifulLiar · 08/03/2016 10:04

Poppins congratulations! I was going to post exactly the same thing as you, then chickened out, then managed to go to the toilet!

Nancy is 5 days old and I hadn't opened bowels since I was delivering her BlushBlush I took two Senokot tablets last night and finally went this morning, they were soft as well so not painful to pass. Hope that helps! Xx

Paperblank · 08/03/2016 10:22

Poppins

GP for you my lovey .... they will be able to give you something to help. I had fybogel when I was on iron tablets and that worked for me.

Flowers because it's horrible feeling all bunged up x

Woodenmouse · 08/03/2016 10:24

poppins I was going to suggest a mild laxative too. Take the lowest dose possible to begin with!

Congratulations on your little one Flowers

Poppins27 · 08/03/2016 10:47

Thank you all so much, I actually feel like a fraud now as had a couple of coffees and it's done the trick!!

So...now I've introduced myself and my bowels...I'll stay in touch and hopefully my chat will rise from gutter level!! Blush
