Hi ladies, thanks Indom for the suggestion of me starting a new thread. Seeing as Zach and myself have been knocking about on antenatal since November it will be lovely to have you all joining us shortly in the baby, rather than pregnancy conversations! Bring on the March babies!!!!

And I take back my comment from a few days ago about it being easier to get up with a newborn....not when it's every 45 mins to an hour it's not...soooo tired!

By the truckload, Missi!

CharleytheFrenchPoodle · 20/02/2016 22:44

Thanks all....well, I gave it a go- no idea if I did it right but I felt a bit of a burning sensation so only did it for about a minute before I gave up. I doubt I'll be doing it too often and I'll never look at olive oil in the same way again Confused

TheMshipIsBack · 20/02/2016 22:59

Barely dilated, on my way home to labour there. Nice midwives!

IndomitabIe · 20/02/2016 23:11

Glad they were nice, at least.

I guess the standard thing to say now is try to rest. Although the other thing would be try walking/bouncing/going up stairs sideways (I've read that last one but don't know why it would be sideways specific).

TheMshipIsBack · 20/02/2016 23:13

Still contracting regularly though, guess it'll be a long night. I'm 38 weeks, due 5 March. Will keep you updated if there's any further excitement.

Woodenmouse · 20/02/2016 23:16

indomitable I was told to do the sideways thing with ds1 as my waters broke and then nothing happened. Apparentlyi rd the rocking motion, it helps to move the baby down or something like that.

Ohwoolballs · 20/02/2016 23:24

I'm catching up between both the threads, so well behind and totally lost with who's said what.

scared mazel tov on the little beaut, so chuffed for you 💐

MShip you'll be next! Hope you can get some rest for a while and it's plain sailing.

Me and DP both have horrific colds (though somehow his is much worse even though he can take all the good drugs and I'm stuck drinking pints of robinsons in some thirsty attempt to flush out my system.) This has meant he's in the baby's room in the spare bed, so lots of room for me to sleep thrash about trying to get comfy, laying from 2 till 4 wide awake and going for 15 wees sigh.

My last day of work was Friday! I have three weeks holiday before maternity starts which could mean this wee guy appearing on holiday time (I'm 35 weeks today)

Right, off to lay in my own snot for a while, I'm sure I'll be around later! 😩

magpiedreams · 20/02/2016 23:49

Ah mship hope things either get going or calm down enough for you to rest. Glad the MWs were nice.

charley you made me lol about olive oil, looking at my nice bottle now raising an eyebrow! Perineal massage not for me I don't think, too squeamish!

indom I'll mark some coursework for you, just heard I have confirmed swine flu so am under house arrest for a bit, your coursework could keep me occupied! Thankfully am feeling much better and already on the correct treatment.

magpiedreams · 20/02/2016 23:50

wool meant to say, sympathies dealing with a nasty cold in pregnancy. Extra pillow helping me sleep, and lots of nice lip balm to help deal with the unintentional mouth breathing...!

Missikat · 21/02/2016 05:04

No one joining me in the CSC tonight.......??

Zach will not sleep...AHHHH...so tired. Got an hour from 11.30-12.30 then DH brought him up crying for food he then proceeded to stay wide awake and crying every time I put him down until about 3.45 when we both finally went to sleep, only to wake me 45 mins later zzzzzzzzzzz. Of course now he's asleep on my chest, I know as soon as I try to pop him back in the Snuzpod he'll wake and cry. I need some sleep! I've tried no noise, white noise, light on, light off running out of ideas. DH is winding me up snoring next to me. Didn't even stir while Zach screamed next to him as I went to get warm water for his bum! Never ceases to amaze me.

Magpie, can't believe you have swine flu! Hope you're ok and the meds are doing their work.

TheM, I will be sending you dilating vibes, hope it's not too long a first stage for you. Hugs xx

RhubarbAndMustard · 21/02/2016 05:56

I'm here Missi! Hopefully you're both asleep now. Could Zach be having a growth spurt? Just hang in there. The first few weeks are the hardest. I promise it does settle down and you will get to sleep again! There is an app called The Wonder Weeks that I found really helpful. It explains when they are likely to sleep less because of each development. Try to catch up during the day if you can.

Mship how are you getting on lovely?

magpiedreams · 21/02/2016 06:03

Hi missi hope you're back asleep by now...?? Those broken nights can be long and lonely I remember. Hopefully a one off from Zach. Is you DH around today to take him while you catch up on some sleep? The snoring next to you must be annoying! My DH would sometimes sheepishly wake up and ask me "err, how was the night?" at which point I could lay it on thick and he'd take the baby for the morning while I slept!

mship did you end up in the fizzle-out-and-get-some-sleep camp or the omg-I'm-having-a-baby camp???

IndomitabIe · 21/02/2016 07:40

I was in the CSC. Couldn't sleep for ages, then hours of leg-waving from Octo-baby. And about 15 wees. DS is up now, and the fecking cat's been wafting her arse in my face for ages already this morning.

Hope TheM had a baby.

Sympathy to you Missi, those nights are the worst.

TheMshipIsBack · 21/02/2016 07:44

Hi all - it was the fizzle out and doze club. Still randomly contracting so on balance I guess it's early stages rather than false labour. I'll try the walking and bouncing today to get things going properly. The nanny was lovely, totally ok with the short call out - DH drove her home as there were no taxis to be had at midnight on Saturday. Midwives took me seriously, were very professional and kind. We're all awake now, going to be functioning on tea and Disney today I think!

docmcstuffins1 · 21/02/2016 07:52

Feeling really bad for all of you in the CSC (especially you Missi) as I had a reasonably good sleep. Heartburn seems to have improved a bit too, hopefully that's a sign that baby has descended a bit .

Looks like I've missed all the action last night - hope MShip has a lovely baby today.

Going out with friends for afternoon tea later in today, really looking forward to it!

docmcstuffins1 · 21/02/2016 07:54

X posted, sorry it fizzled out MShip, but sounds promising that it may be the start. Hope you have a good day of walking and bouncing, and that it all cranks up again soon.x

maybebabybee · 21/02/2016 07:56

Ooh mship how exciting!!

Baby bee is allegedly fully engaged but yet still has his feet and bum in my ribs, and I still have shitty heartburn Hmm

Rosieblossom123 · 21/02/2016 08:33

Oh mship it's so frustrating isn't it Sad I thought things were happening the offer day and even the mw at the hospital said its early stages of labour and now all I'm getting is random BH!!! Argghhh I'm so ready to meet her now!!

Missi I hope Zach settles soon and you manage to get some sleep Flowers

38 weeks today and so fed up with this now, getting so impatient. Can't believe I've been patient for the last 8 and a half months and now I can't wait 2 weeks??

Ohwoolballs · 21/02/2016 08:37

I've woken up this morning with BH and back ache so have a cup of tea resting on my bump which is very nice and soothing.

Cheers magpie I actually slept well 😮 (Ignoring wee breaks and rolling over logistics) but I just read the bit about swine flu! Blurry hell! Hope all the medicine is working and you can wear it with a badge of pride in the future "I survived swine flue '16" type of thing 😬 I am also slathering my dry face, bump and boobs in coconut oil (totally late to the trend) which makes me feel lovely and smell like a choccy Bounty bar. Win!

missi Zach is just making up for lost cuddles from the hospital. Funny how blokes can sleep through the screaming though.... Get him handed over to DH and back to bed.

mship sorry it's been such a stopper and starter. Have a good day cuddled up, bouncing on yoga balls and watching films.

doc have a lovely day out ☺️

rubarb that app sounds ace, I can't wait to be deleting all the preggo apps for stuff like Wonder Weeks.

MrsBenWyatt · 21/02/2016 08:41

How frustrating Mship I hope things ramp up for you once you have had a nice rest. I really regret early labour with DC2 as I decided to walk around and bounce when I should have been sleeping while I was able (waters went but contractions were really mild for a long time).

I have ten days until my section! Single figures tomorrow Grin

Trinpy · 21/02/2016 10:59

Looks like it was a busy night for the CSC last night. We'd better all get babies that are good sleepers after all this rubbish pregnancy sleep (and hopefully Zach's bad night was a one off!).

Mship definitely get some rest if you can or you'll have worn yourself out on the ball by the time the action starts! Hoping that things speed up a bit for you though.

MrsBen I'm very jealous that you'll be meeting your baby so soon - I can't wait to see a picture Smile.

magpie I can't believe you have swine flu! How long does it last for usually? Just as well they were cautious and tested for it.

Rosie the last few weeks seem to take longer than the rest of the pregnancy Hmm. Especially when you think something's happening and get it all excited then it turns out to be a false alarm.

I was also in the CSC last night. Loads of braxton hicks then, just as they'd settled down, a couple more mild (but still pretty painful) contractions. I hope random contractions aren't my latest pregnancy symptom Hmm. I was also on teething child duty last night so was up 5 or 6 times in the night with him, then up for the day at 6am. I've sent him off to my parents for a few hours so I'm going to catch up on my sleep now! Hope you all have a nice (restful) Sunday.

Crispylicious · 21/02/2016 11:11

Good luck mship! Hopefully in a day or two you will have your baby Smile

paper good luck to you too for tomorrow! V exciting. Hope you aren't feeling too nervous.

magpie blimey you did have swine flu! I'm really pleased you're recovering and it hasn't caused you too many issues.

Lots of BHs going on and mild pains... All v exciting.

I woke at 5.30 this morning and felt bloody shattered so have just had a quick nap. The bad sleeping is v frustrating! Mind you sounds like I got tonnes more than missi, who I hope is getting a well deserved nap now.

Am fairly certain the baby is still transverse. Please move baby!

IndomitabIe · 21/02/2016 11:20

Wise words from MrsB.

Up 5 or 6 times, Trin? That's awful. Hope you can catch up on sleep.

Exciting signs there Crispy!

I'm so tired I feel sick. And octobaby's gone back to back - I had all four limbs braced on the front of my belly earlier. Actually, the sickly feeling is probably a combo of the two.

I tried to sneak off for a nap earlier but DH decided to leave DS downstairs by himself while he started some work upstairs. Seemed a bit mean (DS is nearly 5, so was probably perfectly fine, but it doesn't seem right to me). So I came back down.

Plans today include going to get flour & salt to make play dough for DS, so I can finish some marking. I don't want to do it

vroc81 · 21/02/2016 11:30

I slept surprisingly well last night given I had also slept for most of the after, sorry for all those in CSC..

Have just mucked the horse out and the effort has sent me back to the sofa with some m and ms!! It's so windy out there but thought sitting in car while DH did all the jobs might have gone down very badly!!

All of you with symptoms and signs, am very jealous.. But get going this thread needs some more babies! Wink
