Hi ladies, thanks Indom for the suggestion of me starting a new thread. Seeing as Zach and myself have been knocking about on antenatal since November it will be lovely to have you all joining us shortly in the baby, rather than pregnancy conversations! Bring on the March babies!!!!

Morning all!

Had the runs this morning, bleugh. I think I'm at that stage (37+4) where I'm going to be hyper alert for any tiny labour sign. I bet in reality he won't turn up til 42 weeks?

IndomitabIe · 20/02/2016 08:59

Lol at "carpool tunnel" - sorry hayley - it does conjure up images of traffic- related strife!

Terrifying dream though. Confused

Sorry, Beaut! It'd be the last thing on my mind, but I know you're hoping to avoid induction, in which case it's probably the best thing you can do!

BeautifulLiar · 20/02/2016 09:05

Haha I just felt bad that I never want sex anymore Blush

I'm supposed to be making a chocolate cider cake today, they're so good, I just can't be arsed! Had the ingredients for a week now...

maybebabybee · 20/02/2016 09:06

I don't want sex either but neither does my oh ATM, I think he finds my bump massively off putting. Blush

BeautifulLiar · 20/02/2016 09:08

maybe honestly that would be ideal for me! Nothing puts DH off Blush I suppose it's flattering in a way but I feel so boring saying no all the time...

IndomitabIe · 20/02/2016 09:10

My DH is the same as yours Beaut. He is, however, incredibly understanding (even when I'm not pregnant!).

docmcstuffins1 · 20/02/2016 09:18

Haha "carpool" tunnel!

It's swelling and inflammation of the tendon that flexes the thumb (or finger). As the space within the tendon sheath narrows, the tendon can't move a smoothly and causes catching of the finger/thumb in a bent position before popping straight. It's weird, I can feel a 'pop' or 'click' is felt as I straighten my thumb. I've also got pain in palm at the base of both thumbs Sad

BeautifulLiar · 20/02/2016 09:18

He is rather understanding now Indom, but wasn't last time I was pregnant. Probably why I've gone off things so much tbh, but we'll get there! still can't believe I got pregnant

maybebabybee · 20/02/2016 09:21

I think even if we both wanted it we'd struggle with the logistics right now Grin

BeautifulLiar · 20/02/2016 09:23

That's a good point - hmm maybe my bump is quite small then!!!

marmiteandcheeseplease · 20/02/2016 10:28

My dp is another one who can't be put off by anything when it comes to sex, he has been very understanding though. I've been trying to make an effort to have sex but its slowed down to fortnightly. DP doesn't seem that bothered but I'm not looking forward to post birth - I found sex horrendous for months after DD was born, partly as took ages for my episiotomy scar to feel ok and partly as breastfeeding and its related dryness really didn't help. DP got really stressed out after a while and took it very personally, was pretty difficult. I'm hoping he'll be better this time as we did eventually get our sex lives back on track so hopefully he'll have that to look forward to. Don't want to scare any FTM - things do go back to normal! I did think at one point things would never be the same down there again but then all of a sudden one day things were fine.

Another member of CSC here. I've also got itchy feet beaut, for me its chilblains which I always get when the weather is cold and then they last for a few weeks. Was driving me mad last night.

Another fun pregnancy symptom that I've got from those iron tablets is the return of haemorroids Sad sorry if tmi but my bum is killing me!

37+4 today.... Haven't reached the 'get this baby out of me' stage but suddenly this past week struggling with physical things, get tired out easily and everything takes me ten times longer to do!

Woodenmouse · 20/02/2016 10:48

I'm due on 1st March! But I'm ready for him to show up any time now!!

Me624 · 20/02/2016 10:52

DH and I haven't had sex since I was about 16 weeks Grin mostly his choice not mine - as soon as I started showing he said he found it weird. We do sometimes do other stuff but haven't even done that for a while, just not on my radar at the moment.

marmite I am with you on the haemorrhoids Sad I had them really badly at about 28 weeks, they cleared up a bit but now back with a vengeance, gross. I haven't dared look down there for a while!

IndomitabIe · 20/02/2016 11:02

Re randy DHs: it's how I tell how ill he really is! (So far, in 12 years, never too ill to try it on!)

I just went back to bed again! Was suddenly overwhelmed by tiredness, so handed DS over & slept. How the Jeff am I going to survive 5 more weeks of work?!

TheMshipIsBack · 20/02/2016 11:04

38 weeks today! Any time now, kid!

Mild contractions trailed off, nothing today, I wonder if it's false labour like MrsBen? Sort of like moderate menstrual cramps, both bump and back. Never had anything like it last time, feels quite odd. I'm another one getting extra damp. Yuck.

BeautifulLiar · 20/02/2016 11:07

Googled chillblains and that looks rubbish marmite! :(

That sounds dreamy, me! Not the piles, ha. I think I've got one, occasionally just push it back in Blush

Indom crikey! When are you due again?? I'm also 37+4. SEVENTEEN DAYS. Holy shit!

Anyone else getting irritated by almost everyone atm? I'm getting rid of my lovely cleaners because they're really unreliable. And they put knives in the fork section of the cutlery tray, and vice versa. I just want to scream every time I attempt to set the table. Bloody hormones!

IndomitabIe · 20/02/2016 11:13

Not due till 23rd. Attempting to work right to the bitter end (if women in America, including ffaux, can do it - so can I!).

I'm only 35+2. So far I've felt great, this week I've started feeling tired & uncomfortable. I should be grateful really!

BeautifulLiar · 20/02/2016 14:14

That's what I said when I was doing my Midwifery degree... I was desperate to stay until 40+5 when I had an exam. The tutors talked me out of it and baby was three days old by then!

MrsBenWyatt · 20/02/2016 14:44

Sounds similar to mine, MShip, but there's always the hope it'll turn into something!

I am off to bed for a nap. We took the DC for a walk this morning and now my back is agony!

11 days until section Shock

TheMshipIsBack · 20/02/2016 14:54

indom 35 weeks is when the exhaustion of work really hit me - I only officially start maternity leave on Monday 22nd, but have been on annual leave the last two weeks. Probably could have kept going till now, but tbh this time off has been a godsend. I'm sure you'll power through, but take care of yourself!

IndomitabIe · 20/02/2016 15:01

GrinBeaut!

I've said all along that's Plan A. I'll be 36 weeks on weds and can start leave early if I'm sick related to pregnancy. So basically if the exhaustion gets me. (Though there's issues with cover and I'll still have to take DS to school etc).

Last time I finished at 38 weeks, and wished I'd stopped at half term (36!). But I've felt so much better this time!

I had so many plans for half term week (like basic housework for a start!) but we've either been out or I've been recovering from being out!

Better stop lounging and get some of the work I've been avoiding done, I suppose...

BeautifulLiar · 20/02/2016 15:04

Hope you can make it!! I've been surprisingly productive today. Now ready to sleeeeep. It's not going to happen though.

My chocolate cider cake fell apart fpr some reason but tastes bloody good!

MyNameIsSuz · 20/02/2016 16:14

I'm with you MrsB, took the boy to the park this morning and am wiped out! Just had a lovely little snooze, sadly woken up by heartburn. Need to go to the shops but weather is so horrible I'm psyching myself up!

I hope you make it indomitable, don't exhaust yourself though. I worked until 39 weeks last time and it was fine, I definitely need longer this time though.

hayleycookie · 20/02/2016 17:54

With you too MrsB and Suz. Had a long walk around town and then a big shop and my back is killing me now! Do has bathed DS and got him ready for bed. Planning a hot shower and nice bounce on the ball tonight.

Does anyone know if contractions clean start and waters break if the baby isn't in the right position? This one's head definitely isn't engaged yet (I can feel it just above my left hip) but I feel like the rest of me is ready to go. He's also still back to back. Can that change when labour starts or is he pretty stuck there now?

MyNameIsSuz · 20/02/2016 17:58

I think so hayley, mine's back to back too and the midwife said that sometimes it just means they so something called a long rotation, where instead of turning a quarter turn when they go into the birth canal they do three quarters and end up the right way round, if that makes sense.
