Hi ladies, thanks Indom for the suggestion of me starting a new thread. Seeing as Zach and myself have been knocking about on antenatal since November it will be lovely to have you all joining us shortly in the baby, rather than pregnancy conversations! Bring on the March babies!!!!

Congrats Dobby :)

magpiedreams · 05/03/2016 17:09

Congratulations dobby! Great news.

Interesting on the DIY cervix checks. I reckon I could have a good go at reaching but don't expect to feel anything promising so going to make myself hold off until next week!

indom I have also hibernated upstairs for most of today, despite PILs being here which is possibly a bit rude but I don't care. I have also cracked open the haribo sour cherries from my hospital bag Blush. Totally worth it. Have you decided what you're going to do tomorrow? Chessy (love that btw) chips at soft play sound like a reasonable option given the cofcumstances. Maybe a double portion.

MrsElls · 05/03/2016 18:14

Congrats dobby, what a gorgeous head of hair!

docmcstuffins1 · 05/03/2016 18:17

Congratulations Dobby. I'm with Sher in feeling very hard done to as everyone is having babies but me Sad

MyNameIsSuz · 05/03/2016 18:21

Congratulations dobby!

I'm not so much feeling hard done by as... overdue. Even though I'm not! I think because I'm due on Thursday which is fairly early in the month, I feel like I'm super late since so many babies have come already! That probably makes no sense.

Hope you sorted out tomorrow indomitable, I'd go for soft play but mainly because I bloody love cheesy chips. And all the activity might shake the baby downwards!

BeautifulLiar · 05/03/2016 18:32

Congratulations dobby! Do we have a name?

Indom I laughed at "chessy chips". Go have some! That's what I always have at soft play and a tuna baguette and Maltesers

Nancy is a fab little feeder! Tomorrow is day 3 so I'm anticipating the big boobs and a day of crying. Hopefully Mothers Day will cheer me up!

marmite hope the chillies move things along for you! DIY cervix check wasn't the easiest of things tbh! I think I was like 2cm about a week before labour though.

maybebabybee · 05/03/2016 18:53

Congratulations dobby! I'm so jealous!!!

Marmite I squat to check mine, but have to admit the bump is a bit of a hindrance...

IndomitabIe · 05/03/2016 18:54

Ha ha Beaut! I generally make it a life rule not to eat anything that hasn't been spelled properly (or with faded meal pictures), but they do do some good chilli nachos!

Good luck with the day-3-mega-boobs. I remember it well (and the subsequent weeks where the lightest touch is agony!). Hoping the boobs will already be stretched out and will remember the drill this time and be less awful.

Suz, that's it, I feel overdue but I'm so not! It's utterly unreasonable! It would be good, family-wise, for the baby to come sooner rather than later now. But apparently it doesn't work like that!

Woodenmouse · 05/03/2016 19:29

Is anyone else overdue or is it just me?
I'm sooo uncomfortable today.

CharleytheFrenchPoodle · 05/03/2016 19:40

Congrats to dobby! I'm not overdue wooden, just feeling fed up now! DD arrived at 37 weeks so I feel like I've gone overdue even though I'm only 38+2. I've spent the day in a grump, moaning to DH about it until he got fed up and took me out for hot chocolate and cake, just to shut me up for a bit I think Grin Would love a Mothers Day baby, but can't see it happening, so am relying on at least one of you to provide one instead please!

MrsBenWyatt · 05/03/2016 19:52

Congratulations Dobby.

I have developed comedy-sized boobs today, but they don't hurt (didn't with the other DC either). Ted is a fantastic feeder already, so I am interested to see how first weigh-in goes on Monday.

Most exciting thing is that my now-traditional ASOS order of post-pregnancy clothes has arrived, as I refuse to wear maternity clothes once baby has been evicted!

BeautifulLiar · 05/03/2016 19:58

Sorry to hear that wooden. Feeling so lucky I didn't go overdue - I've never had an early one before!

Haha Indom I hope so! Ooh, maybe this will be a good place to ask... anyone got any ideas how to make breastfeeding less messy?! I do put breast pads in but usually every morning me, the bed and the baby will be soaked in milk...

BeautifulLiar · 05/03/2016 19:59

With the other DC I mean, not Nance (yet!)

Woodenmouse · 05/03/2016 20:18

beautiful I used to wear 2 tops to bed, as well as breast pads although I'd normally leak through it all anyway.

BeautifulLiar · 05/03/2016 20:38
  • thanks wooden! I'm not looking forward to it!
docmcstuffins1 · 05/03/2016 21:22

Wooden I'm overdue too (only by 1 day though)

vroc81 · 05/03/2016 21:30

Congratulations Dobbie!!!

I'm feeling a bit miffed I was desperately hoping for an appearance before being induced Monday but alas the power of positive thought alone does not work! Wink. So completely wedged up under my rib cage still... Envy

RhubarbAndMustard · 05/03/2016 22:24

Congrats Me and dobby. What beautiful babies and loving all the names. Are we updating the spreadsheet to show birth dates, names and weights?

Sorry for those still waiting. Not long now. I personally like the thread being a mixture of all our news. Squatting cervix checks are a revelation!

We made it home today. Night 1 in hospital I was euphoric, night 2 was horrendous. I didn't really expect the after pains/trapped wind. Was in agony with it and still get contraction like pains. Never had this with DS1. Like Ted, Jacob sleeps most of the day and then feeds through the night. Very sore nipples right now but trying to grin and bear it. Am enjoying being able to bond properly with Jacob.

Can't wait for the next baby arrivals.

QforCucumber · 05/03/2016 22:28

So jealous of all of these baby's Sad no due until Thursday but backache is doing my head in now. Kitchen floor is complete so wishing baby to arrive anytime now.

Tried to cervix check myself - couldn't find anything at all so either all too soft or still too high or i just cant bend properly damn it.
Was reading about using breastpump to stimulate nipples to induce labour - anyone heard of this??

Woodenmouse · 05/03/2016 23:11

Q is that supposed to work? I've tried everything else, apart from castor oil which someone told me about the other day!!

Tomorrow I will be 5 days over. I'm not seeing MW until Wednesday I think I'll be insane by then!!

QforCucumber · 05/03/2016 23:21

I have no idea haha! I have read about nipple stimulation to try and induce and the site I was reading said it can get boring so try connecting up a breast pump and doing 15 mins on each nipple 3 times a day but I don't know if I trust it Hmm

Dp keeps reminding me it's only the 5th of march and there's like 26 more days in the month - noone would mind if I punch him right?!

MrsElls · 05/03/2016 23:25

Q My nct teacher (when I had ds) was always going on about nipple tweaking as a natural induction method! She basically said you had to try to hand express so I guess its exactly the same as using a breast pump. No idea if it works or not but if you are really uncomfortable then possibly worth a go!

QforCucumber · 05/03/2016 23:32

So far I'm not too bad, was just one of those sites you read about 'things you didn't think of to induce labour' haha. Wasn't sure if anyone else here had heard if doing it Smile

As it stands just been for a wee and wiped away pinkish goop afterwards (apols for the tmi) so wondering if this is the beginning of the end - or if it'll still be another week anyway haha!

Wonder if there will be any mothers day baby's making their appearances tomorrow!
ffaux mothers day is a different day in America to here isn't it? You may have your baby before yours so will get to be spoiled for the day Grin

IndomitabIe · 06/03/2016 01:37

Ooh, pinkish goo is a good sign, Q. Wish there was a set time-line for such things.

Nipple stimulation is supposed to be a pretty good thing, certainly for keeping contractions going. Not sure if it'll start anything that wouldn't otherwise happen.

Oh, wooden, actual 5 days overdue. You deserve the sympathy! Hope it happens for you soon.

Glad you made it home, Rhu. I've been warned about the after pains for #2, and it sounds brutal. Confused Maybe I shouldn't wish this time away!

I'm up with coughy DS (looks like soft-play might be off the cards, don't want him running around spreading germs!). He's woken himself up properly and is regaling me with schools stories. On the one hand I'm trying to get him to STFU and sleep, on the other... well, he doesn't normally say much about school! I've had about 4 hours sleep already so I feel pretty awake myself. Could be much worse. (I'm the least grumpy I've been all day, bizarrely!)

nixxxy · 06/03/2016 03:04

Haven't popped in for a while but all of these babies are making me goo goo eyed! Fully paid up member of the CSC tonight. 36+6 now and just want things to get better (and for a lovely baby to arrive, obvs). Congrats to all the new mamas just in time for mother's day. Your LOs are all adorable!
