Hi ladies, thanks Indom for the suggestion of me starting a new thread. Seeing as Zach and myself have been knocking about on antenatal since November it will be lovely to have you all joining us shortly in the baby, rather than pregnancy conversations! Bring on the March babies!!!!

Checking into CSC and hoping everything ok with Mship. Woke up with horrible acid reflux and shocking pelvic pain.

ffauxlivia · 01/03/2016 03:23

So mship it's gone midnight, did you get a leapling?? Hope it's all going okay!!

Happy Birthday indom, have some Cake, now I believe you are as old as me :) Thanks for the contraction tips, I like the idea of thinking of them as waves. Gosh poor you re. the pain, I know it's awful to think of being stuck there for 3 weeks when you're so uncomfortable. Is it like that every day or does it come and go? Could you maybe at least think about going at 38 or 39 weeks if it doesn't improve?

beaut Flowers for you, you've actually coped with an awful lot this pregnancy and it's natural to be worried about the change. He obviously cares I bet he is just crap at expressing himself, and is probably a bit worried himself. My DH gets defensive too at stuff like that, but when he's had a chance to consider things normally is a bit more useful. Hope he was better after the gym!

Had a lovely prenatal massage tonight that my friend bought for me, but it was so relaxing that it made me really needed to fart Blush and then I spent the whole time trying to hold it in and not relaxing at all. It has not been a good week for my bodily functions!

Oh my it's MARCH arrggh! I'm not ready!!

MrsBenWyatt · 01/03/2016 03:59

Well and truly signed up to the CSC tonight! Checking in on Mship - hope all is well.

I am having a baby tomorrow!!!! Shock

Woodenmouse · 01/03/2016 04:48

mship did you get a leaping?

MrsB how exciting!! Good luck.

indom happy birthday Cake

It's my due date today hurry up baby!!!!

Missdee2014 · 01/03/2016 05:58

No Leaplings?!
Happy Birthday Indom ThanksWine for you Grin

All going well I should have my baby today!! Booked in for induction this morning and going by my history of my previous 2 inductions I'd expect to be delivering today for sure! Not quite sure how I feel - tired I am though! Going to miss my bump I do know that much Hmm

Is it weird that I want to take a pic of myself/bump this morning before I go to hospital? I'm not a photo person so barely have any of myself or bump but really feel the need now to have at least one.

IndomitabIe · 01/03/2016 06:09

Morning, thanks for the birthday wishes.

The pain comes and goes, ffaux, so should be fine really. It was a lot better by the end of the day yesterday. Think I'm going to try the duvet-under-sheet trick tonight (what with my advanced age now!).

Oh yes! We're all having babies this month! Grin

Good luck for today Missdee and tomorrow MrsBen! Deffo take a pic, Missdee (I've got almost none from DS, but have a series from this pg as I don't plan any more!)

Aargh, no update from TheM. Hope everything went smoothly and she's snuggling up with a squishy baby!

BeautifulLiar · 01/03/2016 06:38

It's MAAAAARCHHHH! (to the tune of "IT'S CHRIIIIISTMAAAASSSS!") ahem...

Happy birthday indomitable and good luck Misdee! Hope you're holding your first son very soon. Take a photo, too; that's exactly what I'm planning before my induction.

DH was definitely better after the gym. Hoping we just needed one evening of upset for things to improve... I do feel a bit better now, anyway!

magpiedreams · 01/03/2016 07:12

Happy Birthday indomCakeFlowers. Well done to you and ffaux for keeping on working, respect. Hang on in there.

Good luck today missdee, feel free to post regular labour updates! Yes, take some bump pictures, I have hardly any from any pregnancy and regret it, keep meaning to take some this time.

Hope mship has a baby by now...

I'm planning to raid primark and Boots today and finally get my hospital bag packed.

TheMshipIsBack · 01/03/2016 07:36

No leapling, boo, but with the help of co-codamol I did get some sleep and am still having the same level of contractions this morning. Feeling achy all over in between, I forgot just how many muscles are involved!

vroc81 · 01/03/2016 07:46

Ah boo Mship hope it all progresses nicely this morning.

Happy birthday Indom hope you have a good day!!

Good luck today missdee hope everything goes well!

Off for a few hours in the office, let's see how many times the person that I need to give stuff to but doesn't make time for tells me I shouldn't be there shall we?! Hmm

QforCucumber · 01/03/2016 07:52

Ah paper glad you and Martha are plodding along well!
rhubarb and mrsb hope you both managed to drift off and grab a decent rest of the nights sleep!
ffaux you should have just let rip haha, blamed it on the baby Grin
Happy Day indom have a wonderful one!
And best wishes to missdee too - so exciting!

Having a MIL mare at the minute, i don't speak much to my own dm - juSt a major clash of personalities and long ongoing issues. Since my granny died in august I've seen my mum twice, no issue with this. We were never close. But mil has taken it upon herself to be my surrogate mum - saying girls need a close mum (I'm 29 and have never had a close mum) she's ringing everyday and says thing's like 'we'll if your own mum isn't going to bother then you need me to' and telling me my mum is 'evil' for not beING in touch. Oddly it's making me defensive towards my own mother, but it's also suffocating! I moved out of home 8 years ago have been very independent since and this daily barrage of 'are you ok' 'any pains' 'why aren't you at home? You should be resting' and the best one as yesterday 'oh you're out with friends for lunch? I thought you'd be bored and we could spend the days together' are doing my head in argh! She's a mother of 4 boys and has always made it known she wants a daughter to have this imaginary relationship with and think now she knows I'm not close to my mum she can grab me and play pretend! I'm ignoring the phone today I've decided!

docmcstuffins1 · 01/03/2016 08:05

Happy Birthday Indom Cake, it's DH's birthday today too so hoping things don't kick off so I can try and make the day special for him.

Good luck for today MrsB and Missdee. What with Mship hopefully cracking on today too, 1st of March is going to be a god day for babies!

RhubarbAndMustard · 01/03/2016 08:52

Good luck for today Missdee and happy birthday indom.
*
Q* your MIL does sound like hard work. Hope you get a bit of space.

Beaut glad DH was better after the gym.

My DP is now 'ill' (no idea what with!). I just hope he's better by thurs as really need him to support me. Will try to look after him until then but I'm getting more and more nervous.

Mship how long was your first labour? I think you must be disproving the half time theory. Come on baby!!

BumpPower · 01/03/2016 08:52

Happy Birthday indom
Good luck MrsB missdee and mship
I had my first real signs of anything last night - just like bad pmt type pains. The in laws are here at the moment helping look after DS so would be super convenient to have bump today! Expecially as DP is off on a work trip (3 nights long way from us) Wednesday so DS and I are going to my folks (a few hour away and in the same direction). I really really really don't want to have the baby in a hospital I don't know there and without DP and with my mother discussing my cervix
So all in all today would be a good day to have a baby. Have a midwife appointment today so may see if she can do a sweep??!? Am not overdue yet so she may not. Although that might make it more likely I go at the end of the week....

Me624 · 01/03/2016 08:57

Happy birthday Indom and good luck Missdee!

Mship we were all counting on you for a leapling! But fingers crossed for today.

I need to sort out an inexpensive present for my mum for Mother's Day. She is on a diet so no chocs and I don't really want to get her flowers as that's what I always resort to and I dont think she even really likes them that much. Any ideas ladies, what are you all getting your mums?

MyNameIsSuz · 01/03/2016 09:27

Happy birthday indomitable!

Good luck today MrsB and missdee! And looking forward to news from mship (no pressure).

Me, if it was me I might go for earrings, books or a scarf, but that's knowing my mum, obviously I don't know yours! For MIL I normally go for a variation on flowers - a plant for the house or the garden. I think this year I'm going to order flowers for both in advance just in case, since I'm due four days later.

I've got up with crazily painful hips! Going to have a bath and see if it helps, and will allow myself to do almost nothing today (just a bit of post-weekend tidying). It's horrible and rainy anyway so I don't want to go anywhere!

QforCucumber · 01/03/2016 09:35

me mil is getting a makeup bag (ted baker one from boots- approx £18) and an afternoon tea voucher for a local hotel. She doesn't drink or eat chocolate and said she sees flowers as a waste of money so was all we could think of!

docmcstuffins1 · 01/03/2016 09:47

Me how about some nice hand cream or bubble bath type set?

Trinpy · 01/03/2016 12:11

Happy Birthday Indom!

Good luck for today missdee (if you're still reading!).

mship - I'm so sorry to hear you're still not quite there yet, though good that at least the co-codomol is helping with the pain. You're doing amazingly well - hopefully all this prep work will mean that the rest of labour will be nice and quick for you!

Beaut I'm glad things with your dh are a bit better now. I hope 2016 is a better, easier year for you as a couple/family.

Q That does sound pretty difficult with you mil. Especially as she's obviously trying to be nice (but far too emotionally needy!) so its probably hard to tell her to back off a bit. Do any of your BiL have wives/partners she can latch onto or is all the pressure on you?

I completely forgot its Mother's Day on Sunday! Its also my mum's birthday on Saturday so I need to get double the presents. Might have to steal some of your ideas..

Sorry for the tmi but I lost my mucus plug this morning (or maybe just a large part of it - yuk). I got so excited for a minute because I didn't lose it until I went into labour last time, then I remembered that a) I have no other labour signs so it probably doesnt mean anything and b) I need baby to stay put until Thursday at least if I want a home birth. I hate not knowing when its going to happen!

Me624 · 01/03/2016 12:56

Thanks for the suggestions. An afternoon tea voucher is a really good idea but I think a little more than I wanted to spend (it's also her birthday in a couple of weeks so expensive time!) She does wear a lot of scarves so I might brave town tomorrow.

I am still hoping I might get to celebrate my first Mother's Day! Baby me is due on Friday but no signs of any action yet, other than still got very loose bowels for the second day in a row ... quite a welcome change really after months of constipation on iron tablets but no mucus plugs, contractions or even anything that might resemble a contraction!

Missdee2014 · 01/03/2016 13:47

Thanks for all the well wishes. Had my first pessary of prostin around 10.30 but nothing happening so far.

marmiteandcheeseplease · 01/03/2016 13:57

good luck today missdee, hope things start kicking off soon!

We don't get presents for either mine or DP's mum for mother's day Blush. we're bad children! no reason why, just got out of the habit over the years and neither of them seem particularly fussed.

I am expecting to still be waiting for baby on mother's day, no sign of her coming any time soon.

me, my only sign with DD that labour was imminent was loose bowels - didn't lose my mucus plug till I'd been contracting for about 30 hours! and didn't have any other signs either, just randomly in the middle of the afternoon period type pain started. so you could still have a baby by Sunday Grin

feeling absolutely knackered today.. I've been pretty rubbish at taking the floradix iron stuff and stopped taking the iron tablets a couple of weeks ago so may be paying for it now... oh well.

have a list of things I need to do as long as my arm but think I will just flop on the sofa instead. really can't be arsed with anything today.

BeautifulLiar · 01/03/2016 14:55

misdee did your other inductions take that long?

I've bought a travel Guess Who game for me and DH to play while I'm being induced! When we first got together and were absolutely skint I bought Guess Who from a charity shop and we used to play it all the time so I thought that'd be a nice touch.

Shit timing for my new car boot to stop opening :( need to get it sorted asap or we won't be able to use the pram!!

Hope you've had a relaxing day marmite, are you 39 weeks today too? I've actually got quite a bit done today Confused

QforCucumber · 01/03/2016 14:57

trinpy the brothers all have wives/partners, this will he her 5th grandchild, she's only attaching herself to me as she knows I'm off work and she's retired (read as bored) so thinks I should be bored too and accommodate her every whim. She is lovely and I know she means well, it's just very suffocating when you're not used to it!

me we got the afternoon tea from a groupon voucher so it's £15 for 2 people. Have put that in the makeup bag for her Grin

I'm still suffering with the constipation Blush so definitely looks like no imminent arrivals here. busy morning so now it's sofa lounging with the cats until dp comes home. He said he is loving having me at home as his tea has been ready every night for him walking in - maybe he will let me be a sahm (work out how the mortgage gets paid another day haha)

dobbythedoggy · 01/03/2016 15:10

Well just got home from an 8 and a 1/2 hour stint on labour/delivery for monitoring after no movement for hours overnight while in csc! Phoned up thinking as soon as I do he'll start to jiggle, but nothing until the midwife strapped on the monitors, then he went mad with hb through the roof. Took ages to settle back to an acceptable resting base rate. I've got a slightly raised temp and urine sample shows a potential uti although I've had no symptoms, so have a prescription to treat that. Apparently the temp made him extra sleepy, but seems like his back to normal now wriggling away. Dh turned into the speaking clock while we were waiting for varrious midwives, drs and consulatants! Everyone here very tired now and dd very dissapointed we didn't come home with a baby.
